(Getty) Robert Pattinson (Getty) You might think Robert Pattinson and Justin Bieber are brothers in much-beloved hair, but it appears it just isn't so. Bieber recently told UK tabloid The People that he and Pattinson bonded at an industry party over their famous locks, saying, “One day Robert Pattinson came up to me at a party and said, 'For whatever reason, people love our hair and it's always a great ice-breaker with girls.'” “He is like, 'Hey, my name's Robert. Want to touch my hair?' I thought he was joking, but it really works.” Now Pattinson, who is hard at work promoting his upcoming film Water for Elephants , says that encounter never happened. He told MTV (via EOnline ) on Friday, “I've never met this guy. I saw that as well. I was like, 'You're really famous, man—what are you doing? You don't need to use me to make up stories!” Maybe Bieber was just embellishing for the sake of avoiding talking about his private life. Which is something you'd think Pattinson would understand, given the constant speculation about his relationship with his Twilight co-star Kristen Stewart . ‘I’m hurting,’ Warren tells MTV News after raucous SXSW tribute to late friend. By James Montgomery Kurupt and Warren G Photo: MTV News On Saturday night at South by Southwest, Warren G , Daz, Kurupt and Snoop Dogg paid homage to their late friend Nate Dogg with a raucous tribute show that celebrated the music of a man who lived every day to the fullest. And while the mood onstage was definitely joyous — the quartet performed many of the songs Nate leant his voice to, in a poignant tribute to his talents — backstage at Austin’s Venue 222, things were much more muted. In fact, when Warren G spoke to MTV News about his late cohort, he didn’t hide the fact that he (and everyone who ever knew Nate Dogg) was still hurting inside. In fact, starting with the moment he heard the news of Nate’s passing, things have been far from normal. “I was out on the Sweat Tour with Snoop, and we had got the word from his family on what was going on, and it was just a crushing blow for us,” Warren said. “Just, from going to see him and lifting his spirits up when he was in therapy, and stuff like that, it’s just crazy for that to happen. And I still don’t believe it, you know what I’m saying? “It kind of hurts me when I look at this shirt [the organizers of the SXSW tribute show sold Nate Dogg T-shirts, with proceeds going to the late singer’s family], it’s like, ‘Damn, that’s my homeboy on this shirt,’ ” he continued. “And I’m hurting, and you know, a lot of people are showing tons of support for his family, for his homeboys, and we really and truly appreciate that. It’s real love.” And though they took the stage that night with a heavy heart, Warren and his cohorts also did it knowing that their friend was with them in spirit, and that by honoring his music, they were also honoring a man they all knew and loved. “It means a lot, you know, because this is something that’s being done for a person that we really love. It’s deeper than music, that’s a brother to us, to me and Kurupt and Snoop and Daz … it’s really deeper than that,” he said. “I mean, like, I’m not a psychic or a genie or a gypsy or anything, but I know deep down in my heart he’s around us, he’s with us … he’s with us in spirit. Everything we do, he’s a part of it.” Related Photos 2011 SXSW Music Festival Nate Dogg: A Life In Photos Related Artists Nate Dogg Warren G

From ‘Breaking Dawn’ to leading lady Kristen Stewart, RPattz was an open book. By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Robert Pattinson Photo: MTV News Robert Pattinson likes his leading ladies “hot,” thinks his “Breaking Dawn” love scene with Kristen Stewart is “funny” and looks back at his first “Twilight” red carpet and thinks, “I looked like an old alcoholic.” Yes, we ranged far and wide across the “Twilight” universe on Friday night during “MTV First: Robert Pattinson,” a 30-minute live chat with the 24-year-old star. In fact, we hit so many topics of interest to fans of the vampire franchise that we’ve gathered them all on one page. Consider this a Twi-cheat sheet: everything Pattinson had to say about the series: On Kristen Stewart While Rob drew a line of comparison between his “Twilight” co-star and other leading ladies with whom he’s shared the screen — “I like being in movies with lots of hot girls,” he laughed — he also pointed out how different he is from Stewart . “I like the kind of cerebral aspect of things, and she has kind of an immediate emotional response to stuff every single time,” he said about making various acting choices. “She’s like, ‘Why can’t you understand? It’s obvious. You don’t know. You shouldn’t be an actor!’ ” Unsurprisingly, the duo’s upcoming “Breaking Dawn” love scene — which we got a peek at in a photo earlier this year — also cropped up during the conversation. “You’ve got to really know what you’re doing. If it’s just a sort of arbitrary love scene, it’d be quite difficult,” he explained. “The one on ‘Breaking Dawn’ is pretty funny.” On “Breaking Dawn” Of all the new talent joining the franchise, 10-year-old Mackenzie Foy , who plays Edward and Bella’s daughter , is the one everyone has an eye on. “She’s a great actress. She’s really sweet,” Pattinson told us. “She has to do a hard part as well, because she’s doing — I don’t want to get into special-effects stuff — but she’s playing a baby in some scenes. Oh, man, some of the stuff is so strange. I mean, we’ve done very strange things on the ‘Breaking Dawn’ shoot.” Rob also dished a bit about the musical aspects of the upcoming films, shooting down a rumor that he’ll sing a lullaby but revealing he will show off some of his musical abilities . “I did play some piano. I’m not sure if that’s supposed to be secret,” he said. “I was very impressed. I hadn’t played piano in years, and I learned it in about 10 seconds.” On Revisiting the Past While we had Rob live and in studio, we couldn’t help but flash back to our first-ever “Twilight” interview back in the spring of 2008. Though much time has passed, Pattinson said that now, much like then, he still can’t quite grasp the full breadth of Twi-mania. What has changed, he added, is how he acts during interviews. “I never got that I was supposed to be talking about ‘Twilight.’ I thought I had to be funny all the time and that’s it,” he said. But he doesn’t regret trying to be the always-on funnyman. Looking back on the last few years, Pattinson told us he really has just one regret . “I wouldn’t have worn the suit I wore for the first ‘Twilight’ premiere. It was too small,” he said. “I was also a little bit nervous, so I had a couple of drinks beforehand. I look like an old alcoholic.” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . From ‘The Wavy Forest’ to ‘The Cullen Pouf,’ RPattz discusses ‘dos on ‘MTV First: Robert Pattinson.’ By Aly Semigran, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Robert Pattinson in “Twilight” Photo: Summit Entertainment In his upcoming film, the 1930s period drama “Water for Elephants,” based on Sara Gruen’s best-selling novel of the same name, Robert Pattinson begins to show new depth and range as an actor. Plus, his hair looks really, really different. Much like his career, RPattz’s hair is evolving. So, when MTV News sat down with the star for “MTV First: Robert Pattinson,” it seemed like the perfect time to reflect on the diverse coifs that have sent his follicle-obsessed fans into a frenzy. From his “Twilight”-appropriate ‘dos such as “The Wavy Forest” and “The Cullen Pouf” to the self-explanatory “Windswept ‘What the F—‘ ” to the more subdued and serious looks like “Controlled Chaos” and “Clean & Cut but Hold the Shave,” Pattinson took a trip down memory lane of the many haircuts he’s rocked. “I always like … the ‘Forest’ thing,” he said. Turns out, that particular hair style carried him through what he describes as the “unemployable” phase of his career. While attending the Los Angeles premiere of “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix” in 2007, Pattinson admitted to looking rather, well, unkempt. “I walked down Hollywood Boulevard to Grauman’s [Chinese Theater] and had to walk through the crowd and stuff,” recalled the 24-year-old star who was not yet famous, adding, “I was so hungover and so bloated, and some of the pictures are just so funny. It literally looks like someone just found a homeless person and just put them on [the red carpet]. … It was so ridiculous.” So, what is it that helps the star maintain that tousled, albeit sometimes homeless-looking hair? Courtesy of his “Twilight” co-star Ashley Greene, we asked RPattz what brand of shampoo he uses: “I use dog shampoo,” he joked. In reality, he, like so many other sexy slacker types before him, simply uses, “Whatever is around.” But, the question remained: Would Pattinson ever rock the oh-so-sought-after Justin Bieber ‘do? Despite rumors that he and his fellow heartthrob had discussed their hair together (“I never met this guy!” Pattinson told MTV), the actor was somewhat willing to take on the side-swept style. After laughing about the idea of sporting “The Bieber,” RPattz quipped that instead he’d wear “a Bieber hat.” Which Robert Pattinson hairstyle is your favorite? Sound off in the comments below! Robert Pattinson Reflects On His Hair Evolution
‘Reese [Witherspoon] had this wig on, and literally, I was wiping my nose on her wig,’ RPattz says of scene in ‘Water for Elephants.’ By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Robert Pattinson Photo: MTV News We’ve heard Robert Pattinson talk about his love scenes before. “Lot of my crack in it!” he once laughed to us about what we can expect in the upcoming drama ” Bel Ami .” And we’ve even seen photographic evidence of his honeymoon boom-boom with Kristen Stewart in December’s first installment of ” Breaking Dawn .” But when it comes to Pattinson’s amorous encounters onscreen, his fans can never get enough. It’s no surprise then that one Twitter user submitted a question during “MTV First: Robert Pattinson” asking if the actor felt awkward doing love scenes with “Water for Elephants” co-star Reese Witherspoon. Awkward, no. Sick? Well, yes. “The love scene in this, I was doing it when I had a really bad cold,” Pattinson explained. “I’m not generally that awkward doing stuff apart from when I’ve got my belly coming out. But my nose is running all over the place and it was in one of the additional photography scenes, and Reese had this wig on, and literally, I was wiping my nose on her wig.” “We were doing this really passionate love scene,” he added with a giggle. “It was really stupid. I guess I’m not that awkward anymore.” The key with any love scene, Pattinson went on to make clear, is that it has to make sense within the context of the story. You can’t just get freaky in front of the camera because someone thinks it’ll boost ticket sales. “It always depends. You’ve got to really know what you’re doing. If it’s just a sort of arbitrary love scene, it’d be quite difficult,” he said. And what of his scene with Stewart in “Breaking Dawn,” the one we got an early, feather-filled glimpse of in January? Rob hesitated before saying simply, “The one on ‘Breaking Dawn’ is pretty funny.” Check out everything we’ve got on ” Water for Elephants .” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com .
