‘That’s just incredible, thank you so much for your support,’ frontman Bill Kaulitz says in message to fans. By James Montgomery Tokio Hotel’s Bill Kaulitz Photo: MTV News One day after upsetting Green Day and shocking the world in MTV’s Musical March Madness championship game, Tokio Hotel are still basking in their post-title glow — and they want to share that happiness with their fans. TH’s Bill and Tom Kaulitz have just released a special video message to their Aliens around the world, thanking them for all their support and for helping guide them to the 2012 MMM championship. “Hey, Aliens! We just heard we won MTV’s Musical March Madness 2012. … That’s just incredible, thank you so much for your support, and it’s unbelievable,” frontman Bill said in the message. “I know it’s been really, really hard because there’s been so many great bands nominated … totally unexpected.” Bill’s brother Tom then chimed in — from behind the wheel of what appears to be a rather large SUV (championship swag!) — with a parting shot that’s sure to anger plenty of fans of those other great bands, accusing them of attempting to bend the rules to bring Tokio Hotel down. But hey, he’s a champ now, and he can pretty much do whatever he wants. “And they tried to cheat!” Tom joked. “And they tried to cheat,” Bill laughed. “Thank you guys so much for voting! And we are so proud to have you guys, and we want to thank you for your patience. I know you’re waiting for the new record and we’re working on it really hard and we hope to see you guys pretty soon. Thank you so much — we’re really proud of you.” Unlike what 2010 MMM champs Coheed and Cambria did in their acceptance speech — 2011 champions Green Day didn’t feel like making one, btw — Bill signed off by blowing a kiss to the camera (his brother flashed the peace sign) and giving one last “thank you” to the TH fans for their undying dedication. And with that, the coronation was complete: Tokio Hotel reign supreme as MMM champs, and until someone knocks them off the throne in next year’s tournament, well, let’s just say we could be seeing a whole lot more kisses being blown. It’s apparently the European way to celebrate a championship title. Check out the results from this year’s tournament in the MTV Musical March Madness interactive bracket! ‘I really feel like I outdid myself,’ Rick Ross’ buddy and artist tells Mixtape Daily of U.F.O. Vol. 2. By Rob Markman, with reporting by Ade Mangum Torch Photo: MTV News Mixtape Daily Main Pick Mixtape : U.F.O. Vol. 2 Headliners : Torch, DJ Scream and DJ Swamp Izzo Representing : Bronx, New York Real Spit : Rick Ross ‘ Maybach Music Group is a multifaceted machine. While songs by MMG artists like Meek Mill, Wale and, of course, Rozay himself make dents on the Billboard charts, Maybach spitters like Torch have the streets covered. As an original member of the Bawse’s Maybach Empire, Torch has held his own on the mic, even if he sometimes doesn’t get the credit he feels he deserves. With his latest mixtape, U.F.O. Vol. 2, Torch aims to change all that. “When people hear ‘U.F.O.,’ they think aliens and stuff, but that’s far from what it means,” he told Mixtape Daily of his title. “It means Underestimated, Forgotten and Overlooked. It’s a sequel to Volume 1, which is already a certified classic by the streets.” With U.F.O. Vol. 2, Torch gives more than just rapper bravado. On the opening track, “Go Get It,” he hooks up with MMG singer Teedra Moses. Over a sampling of Lonnie Liston Smith’s “A Garden of Peace,” the same song Jay-Z sampled for his 1996 classic “Dead Presidents II,” Torch self-motivates. Reminiscing on dead and incarcerated friends, the brave-hearted lyricist keeps his eye on the multimillion-dollar rap prize. “I’m just trying not to let ’em down,” he raps. The Bronx spitter reimagines another rap classic on “Slowdown,” where he samples Lowell Fulson’s “Tramp,” more famously flipped on EPMD’s 1990 single “Rampage.” Rather than settle for a simple remake, Torch recruits Meek Mill, Wale, Gunplay, Stalley and Young Breed for an MMG all-star posse cut. Rick Ross shows up for “Grind-24,” and Masspike Miles chips in on “Thinking Out Loud.” Though every major player in the Maybach camp is accounted for, Torch doesn’t use his band of brothers as a crutch. So much of U.F.O. Vol. 2 showcases his solo talents. On “R.I.P.” the hungry rhyme slinger deads his competition, and with “Truth or Dare” Torch puts a conceptual spin on the childhood game. “I really feel like I outdid myself on this Volume 2, ” Torch boasts. We’d have to agree. Joints to Check For

Kacie Boguskie did what she (or the producers) had to do. That’s how she explains traveling all the way to Switzerland just to “warn” Ben Flajnik about Courtney Robertson on last week’s episode of The Bachelor . With Southern charm, bright eyes and a big heart, it was easy to see why so many people fell in love with Kacie B. and were rooting for her over Court. Alas, Ben was not one of those people. Speaking with reporters about her hometown date gone awry, her trip to Europe and if she thinks Ben Flajnik and his fiancee will last, she had this to say: On her elimination : “I definitely didn’t think it was me. When it got down to one rose, I thought that Nicki would be going home. I was shocked.” On why she went to Switzerland after getting axed : “Initially, I was not going there in search of a second chance. I really wanted closure.” “I had to make my peace about Courtney, because I care. Of course, there was a little part of me that hoped he’d be like, “I made a mistake. Stay.” On why she cares so much about Courtney : “I have a problem with somebody who has two sides, because I don’t know which is really you.” “She was manipulating – I’m not sure who she manipulated more, us or him.” On whether her hometown date sent Ben running for the hills : “As much as I’d like to think Tennessee and California aren’t that different, they are.” “He wanted to live with whoever he [picked], and he owns a winery, so those are two things in his life that don’t line up with my parents’ views.” “If whoever I’m with doesn’t mesh [with my family], that causes problems.” On whether he should pick Lindzi Cox or Courtney Robertson : “I’m Team Lindzi. I love Lindzi, but it seems like he and Courtney get along great.” “At the end of the day, it’s what makes him happy. If they are a great couple, who are we to judge? If they are meant to be together, they should be.” On her own romantic status update : “Still single. Watching has helped me get over it. I’m in a great place and ready to see who I meet next.” Who do you think Ben should choose on the March 12 finale?

Could this “unnamed” opponent be Manny Pacquiao??? “Money” Mayweather was supposed to turn himself in yesterday to begin his 90-day jail sentence, however… A judge agreed Friday to postpone a jail sentence against Floyd Mayweather Jr. in a Las Vegas domestic violence case, allowing the undefeated boxer to make a Cinco de Mayo fight against an as-yet unnamed opponent. The ruling by Justice of the Peace Melissa Saragosa to allow Mayweather to begin his 90-day stint on June 1 came with the fighter’s manager and supporters, including rap star Lil’ Kim and R&B artist Ray J, in the courtroom as a defense lawyer cited the economic boost that Las Vegas could get from the bout. Mayweather, meanwhile, waited in the lobby of a nearby building to hear whether Saragosa would make him immediately begin serving the three-month sentence she imposed when the boxing champion pleaded guilty last month to a charge that he attacked his ex-girlfriend while two of their children watched in September 2010. Saragosa said she was swayed by the last-minute plea from Mayweather’s lawyer, Richard Wright, to let Mayweather postpone jail time so he can train to fight on the May 5 date his promoters promised months ago to pay-per-view television and the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Wright said Mayweather wasn’t trying to avoid the sentence, and emphasized the potential economic benefit of attracting fight fans and hotel guests to Las Vegas for a Mayweather fight. The lawyer estimated that Mayweather’s last seven fights in Las Vegas generated a combined $1 billion in business to the community. He projected the economic boost from a May 5 fight at more than $100 million. Guess being a part of the #TheMoneyTeam has its’ advantages… “Mr. Mayweather has an obligation to this court,” the judge responded. But “given the fact that Mr. Mayweather has these obligations, I am going to grant your request.” Prosecutor Lisa Luzaich protested that Mayweather should have to serve his sentence “just like anyone else.” Saragosa ordered Mayweather to immediately enroll in a yearlong domestic violence counseling program, and noted that under her original sentence, Mayweather faces an additional three months in jail if he doesn’t comply. Mayweather also must complete 100 hours of community service and pay a $2,500 fine. Guess money can buy happiness, or at least freedom… Hate it or love it???
