McDonald’s Employee Aids Police In Catching Up With Steve Stephens Yesterday, the 3 day search for murderer Steve Stephens came to an end after he was briefly chased by police then took his own life. Today, we get more details on how he was caught. According to CNN , McDonald’s chicken nuggets and a mindful employee ultimately lead to Stephens’ demise. Around 11 a.m. Tuesday morning, Stephens pulled up to a McDonald’s in Harborcreek Township, Pennsylvania to order a 20-piece chicken McNuggets and a small fries. The employee working the window recognized him immediately. “[The employee] said, ‘I think that’s the guy. Can you double check I’m right?’” franchise owner Thomas DuCharme said. “When I saw him I knew it was him. It fits the profile. He didn’t look that different than the picture but his beard was trimmed down.” The unidentified employee called the cops and used some tricky maneuvers in an attempt to keep him there until the boys arrived: To buy time, DuCharme gave Stephens his nuggets and told him his fries would take an extra minute. But Stephens did not wait, he said. He took his nuggets and drove off. “He didn’t want to wait for the fries, which was fine,” DuCharme said. “We were just trying to make sure [the employee] got in contact with the state police.” Authorities literally chased Stephens as soon as he pulled out the parking lot. Reports say police rammed his car and while the car was spinning out of control, Stephens pulled a pistol and shot himself in the head. A teenage driver was streaming to Facebook Live this week when a tractor-trailer rear ended her car and killed her, along with a passenger. Brooke Miranda Hughes, 18, was behind the wheel on Interstate 380 near Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania, as she live-streamed her car ride. Her friend Chaniya Morrison-Toomey, 19, was with her. “Are you going live?” Morrison-Toomey asked. In the now-deleted footage, bright lights flash inside the car and sounds of screeching tires can be heard before Hughes can answer. An eerie seven-minutes of blackness follows. Then, at the end of the eight-minute video, a man can be heard speaking and a blurry, bearded face can be briefly seen before it ends. The Scranton Times-Tribune reported that both of the two teens were declared dead at the scene and were driving on a spare tire. Michael Jay Parks, the driver of the tractor-trailer, was unhurt in the accident. Investigators say it's too early to say if Parks will be charged. The Monroe County Coroner’s Office conducted autopsies on the teens, whose remains could not be visibly ID'd due to the car burning. State Police officials said the Facebook Live video will be used in the investigation. Andrea Saul, a Facebook spokeswoman, said: “People watching Live video can report potential violations of our Community Standards, and we will take the appropriate action.” She added: “We also encourage people to contact law enforcement if they see a Live stream in which someone is in danger.” May the victims rest in peace.
In the two weeks since Donald Trump was elected president , the reality television star-turned political neophyte has done little to assure the millions who are concerned about his temperamental instability or his impractical and incendiary campaign promises that he is in fact prepared to assume the highest office in American politics. In fact, the only time Trump made the slightest effort to convince those who didn’t vote for him that he still has their best interests at heart was during an interview with 60 Minutes , in which he half-heartedly called for his more extremist followers to stop engaging in race-based intimidation. Other than that, Trump has shown little to know concern with regard to hate crimes committed in his name; he appointed a man with ties to the White Nationalist movement as his chief strategist; and he’s engaged in petty online feuds with the casts of SNL and Hamilton , despite the fact that his thin-skinned inability to withstand criticism has frequently led to doubts about his ability to lead. On top of all that, his administration is still grappling with several disconcerting legal matters, such as Trump’s recent settlement of a $25 million fraud suit (despite promises to fight the charges in court); his charitable foundation’s admission of unethical and possibly illegal self-dealing in a 2015 tax filing; and concerns that Trump is already in violation of the Constitution’s Emoluments Clause . Candidate Trump promised Americans a more “presidential” Trump in the event that he should win the election. With less than two months remaining until Inauguration Day, he has yet to deliver. Now, an unexpected group of powerful protesters is making a last-ditch attempt to block Trump from assuming office. While their efforts may prove too little, too late, they may also save future generations from demagogues seeking to con their way into public office. According to the New York Post , at least six Democrats on the Electoral College are prepared to serve as “faithless electors” and abandon Hillary Clinton in order to vote for Republican candidates other than Trump. There hope is that GOP electors will follow suit, thus costing Trump the 270 votes he needs to secure the White House, and sending the decision of who will be our next president to the Republican-controlled House of Representatives. As you’re probably, aware Hillary Clinton won the popular vote by more than 1.7 million votes, with several million more yet to be counted, most of them in Democratic strongholds, such as California. The Democratic electors looking to block Trump have embarked on a quixotic mission, as it seems highly unlikely that they’ll be able to convince 37 of their GOP counterparts to jump ship and send the nation into an even worse state of political upheaval. A man named Justin Vankirk has been arrested for the murder of his roomie after he “allegedly” beat him to death over stolen beer. Vankirk noticed that some of his beloved brew was missing and believed his domestic partner, Charles Parker, was the culprit. according to the story, he immediately began to violently put hands and feet on Parker. Justin called 911 and reported the death himself, but gave some conflicting accounts of exactly what happened. Cops say Charles’ body was drug into the living room where Justin snapped a few pics of his lifeless body with a cell phone. Cocaine use… Stevie J Ordered To Rehab Again Stevie J just narrowly missed a stint in jail over his unpaid $1 million in child support. As previously reported Steebie was set to sit behind bars for unpaid support for two of his six kids , but apparently a judge sent him to rehab instead. Why? For alleged continued cocaine use. PageSix reports: Reality TV star and Grammy-winning record producer Steven Jordan was ordered to rehab followed by home detention for violating the terms of his bail. It’s the second time the “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” star, aka Stevie J, has been hauled into Manhattan federal court for using drugs while awaiting trial for failure to pay over $1 million in child support. Judge Debra Freeman warned Jordan that next time he’s caught, he will likely go straight to prison. Assistant U.S. Attorney Andrew DeFilippis said Jordan failed multiple drugs tests, including in June and August, and that he has missed many more testing appointments. The Atlanta resident also flew to Buffalo, NY, without permission and has “adamantly denied” his drug use, DeFilippis told the judge. Jordan called the government’s concerns “lies” once outside the courtroom and challenged prosecutors to have it out face-to-face. He admitted to using coke twice this year — both times while in his LA studio.
