According to NY Daily News: A Los Angeles-area man kidnapped his girlfriend on Christmas Day, sexually assaulted her and kept her prisoner for more than a week before cops found them, authorities said. Giovanni McKinnis, 19, attacked the 19-year-old woman at her Palmdale home on Dec. 25 and then forced her to his home on East Avenue Q, where they were both discovered on Saturday, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said. The woman, who is the mother of McKinnis’ child, was found huddled in a bedroom and looked as though she’d been beaten, a spokesman said. During the 10-day ordeal, McKinnis had battered her, sexually assaulted her and, at one point, choked her until she nearly passed out, sheriff’s Sgt. Brian Hudson said. “There’s no doubt in our minds that if the deputies … had not intervened last night, this victim probably would have ended up dead,” sheriff’s Sgt. Brian Hudson told local KTLA television. McKinnis was charged with attempted murder, kidnapping, domestic violence, restraining order violation and false imprisonment. He was being held on $1 million bail. His grandmother, Frieda McKinnis, told KTLA the two were feuding over custody of their son. “She came over of her own accord, to pick up some belongings,” she told the station. “He tried to get her to leave,and she wouldn’t leave. Via Broward Palm Beach reports: As reported by New Times in 2007, Edwards had managed to blow his entire fortune within just five years. He and his wife Shawna went from living in a lavish Florida mansion decorated with medieval armor, to a Kentucky storage unit container filled with human feces. Edwards was a convicted felon who had spent a third of his life behind bars when he walked into a Kentucky convenient store and bought $7 worth of lottery tickets. When he won, he opted for the one-time payout, rather than the annual payments. And within a year of being an instant millionaire, Edwards went on a spending spree. He threw down $12 million in that first year alone, buying himself and Shawna a 6,000-square-foot mansion in Palm Beach with a private tennis court for $1.6 million, dozens of expensive cars, and a LearJet with a personal pilot worth $600,000. His Palm Beach neighbors complained that Edwards had so many cars in his driveway, that it looked like a car dealership. He also spent on three losing racehorses, a limo business, and a fiber optics installation company. He also spent lavishly on medieval armor and swords to decorate his mansion — most of it cheap knock offs of originals. But Edwards also had a drug problem. He and Shawna contracted hepatitis from sharing tainted needles, while she had an Oxycontin addiction. The two had multiple run-ins with authorities. Within five years, he was broke. And once the money dried up, Shawna left him and remarried. Edwards tried to do right by his winnings. Shortly after falling into his fortune, he had vowed to spend it right, to make it last for Shawna and his daughter. He even hired a financial adviser, James Gibbs. Gibbs invested some of the winnings in stocks and bonds. But Edwards sold them all off. “If he followed my advice,” Gibbs told New Times in 2007, “he’d be pulling in about $85,000 a month for the rest of his life.” On Tuesday, Edwards’ daughter, Tiffani Lee Edwards, said that her father had died penniless and alone. And that he had left her nothing, not even a life insurance policy. “There is NO MONEY anywhere!!!!” she wrote on Facebook. A very sad story. A 16-year-old boy was shot and killed at a Brooklyn party Saturday night — just hours after his parents reached out and told him someone was going to shoot the place up. “They got my baby! They got my baby!” Tiana Williams wailed as she arrived at the scene where her son Iquan lay murdered in a building’s doorway. “We told him not to go,” a grief-stricken Williams said. The Frederick Douglass Academy sophomore had made plans to attend the party on Prospect Place near Thomas Boyland St. in Brownsville, but his brother found out on Facebook that someone was planning to bring a gun to the party. “We called him at 9 p.m., and said, ‘Don’t go.’” Williams said, tears streaming down her face. “He texted me (around 10 p.m.). I said, ‘Watch your surroundings. Be careful.’ He said, ‘I love you.’ I said, ‘I love you.’” “He said he wouldn’t, but he went … ” the Bushwick mom said, her voice breaking in anguish. Williams’ warnings proved true. Someone opened fire at the party at 10:30 p.m., killing Iquan. “My son didn’t deserve this. We don’t deserve to be out here crying… I want whoever did this. “They ripped our hearts out.” Prayers go out to his family.

According to NY Daily News reports : Kelly Rhodes, 49, faces up to 15 years in prison after she left the body of Mary Gertrude Grenia, 89, wrapped in blankets outside of a Port Huron Township Goodwill store, the Times Herald reported. Prosecutors don’t believe Rhodes killed the woman, but said she may have neglected to care for her elderly mother, leading to her death. “I love her and miss her more than I ever could imagine,” Rhodes, originally from Salem, Ore., told the court during sentencing on Friday. The cold-hearted daughter displayed a “callousness that is frankly hard to fathom,” prosecutor Mona Armstrong said, when Rhodes dumped the body beside a Dumpster on March 12. The shocking crime was captured on surveillance video. “I understand I need to be punished for my poor decisions that were not sensible or logical at all,” Rhodes told the newspaper before her sentencing. The uncaring daughter reportedly took her sick and elderly mother out of a nursing home three years ago, but had fallen on hard times financially. The court didn’t accept the excuse and found her guilty of manslaughter, fourth-degree vulnerable adult abuse and removing a dead body without permission of a medical examiner. Grenia had heart and lung disease, and an autopsy showed no signs of trauma. Prosecutors believe Grenia died in her daughter’s truck before her corpse was dumped and left behind. “The bottom line is, (Grenia) was not provided that simple dignity she was entitled to at her age and after raising this particular defendant,” Armstrong said, the newspaper reported. According to NY Daily News: A rapper with close ties to 50 Cent was shot and killed Friday when a gunman in a black ski mask unloaded on an SUV full of people in Queens, police said. Mazaradi Fox, 42, whose real name is Jamal Green, was killed when the shooter rolled up to a white SUV and opened fire. Police sources said Fox stumbled out of the SUV and collapsed in a nearby driveway. He was a childhood friend of 50 Cent and a member of the rapper’s crew G-Unit. “50 Cent was in his New York studio and was saddened when he heard the news. He sends his condolences to Mazaradi’s family,” said a rep for 50 Cent. “We’re sorry to hear about the tragic news. Our sympathy goes out to his family and friends,” said a representative for G-Unit. Thieves Steal Presents From Single Mother Of 4 Days Before Christmas A couple of scumbag burglars look to have completely ruined Christmas for a single Atlanta mother and her four young children after they broke into their home and stole all of their Christmas presents, among other things. via CBS Atlanta Burglars busted into a southwest Atlanta apartment, ruining Christmas for a young mom and her four children just a few days before the holiday. The thieves used some type of tool to force themselves into Ebony Walker’s front door and steal from the family. Walker says they ransacked the home and took its two TVs, including the cable boxes, as well as all the gifts Walker said she’d been buying for her kids since early November. “It was very wrong for them to do this. They took from my kids and I worked hard to get them what they needed.” Walker said. The mother of four said she know what she’s going to do now. “The little money I had is gone. I was through with them, you know, they woulda woke up Wednesday very happy. So now I don’t know what will be my next step.” This is just ridiculous. What an azzhole. Man Kills Baby For Crying During Football Game If the crying was bothering him so much, he should have handed the baby to someone or left the room. According to Fox 25: A man Norman Police say killed a 5-month-old while he watched the OU-OSU football game is now in custody in the Cleveland County Jail. An arrest warrant was issued for 22-year-old Tre’viance Markese Walker Friday. Police say the child died in Walker’s care while he watched the Bedlam football game. Neighbor Jimmy Shannon says Walker, his girlfriend and his girlfriend’s baby were living with Walker’s aunt and uncle. While everyone else was out running errands, Shannon says Walker was supposed to take care of the baby, but he was upset with OU’s win and lashed out at the crying baby. “The baby wouldn’t stop crying so he went allegedly and picked up the baby with such force as to snap the baby’s neck,” Shannon said. Shannon went on to say that his neighbors told him Walker lost $200 because of the Bedlam game and that’s why he lashed out. Shannon says after everyone got home they found the baby unresponsive and called police. Police responded to the home in the 200 block of Willoway around 6:00 PM. The 6-month-old boy was taken to a local hospital where he later died. According to the affidavit filed in Cleveland County, the boy had trauma to his face and head and blood in his right ear. The report states Walker had the boy in his care starting at 1:35 PM until 2:30 PM. Walker initially claimed to have not touched the boy during that time. “It’s heart wrenching. It’s disgusting, and it just makes me sick to my stomach,” said Shannon. As of Monday the District Attorney’s office says charges against Walker weren’t yet filed, but the arrest warrant was for murder in the first degree. This is so disgusting and sad. Man Kidnaps Two Brothers And Sexually Abuses Them This coward stole their childhood innocence and deserves to rot in jail. According to NY Daily News: A man lured two brothers, ages 5 and 8, from their yard in south Mississippi and took them to his camper trailer, where he sexually abused them and slashed the older boy’s throat, authorities said Thursday. The 8-year-old boy is hospitalized and is expected to survive the Wednesday attack, said Don Bass, chief deputy with Hancock County sheriff’s office on the Mississippi coast. Bass said the older brother, with his throat cut, escaped the suspect’s trailer Wednesday evening and ran about 500 yards to a neighbor’s house. The neighbor called police. The children were abducted Wednesday afternoon from a residence in Pearl River County and taken to the trailer in rural Hancock County where he sexually abused both boys, Hancock County Sheriff Ricky Adam said in a news release. Bass identified the suspect as James H. Smith, 41. Smith was released from prison to house arrest in June after serving a few months of a lengthy sentence in a racketeering case involving methamphetamine and assaulting a police officer, according to corrections officials and court records. He was being held on a $3.5 million bond, Bass said. SMH.
