Hayden Panettiere has an extra special reason to sing a happy tune today: The actress is a first-time mother! People Magazine has confirmed that the Nashville Season 3 star welcomed her first child with fiancé Wladimir Klitschko on Tuesday, December 9. The child is named Kaya Klitschko; she weighed in at 7 lbs., 14 oz., and measured 20 inches. “We are over the moon and madly in love!” Panettiere and Klitschko tell People. Panettiere remained mostly quiet throughout her pregnancy, though she did tell Hello Magazine early in her term that she was glad she was having a girl. “I’m thrilled that I am having a girl first because I feel like I know a lot about raising a strong woman,” she said at the time. “I feel very empowered myself and I think my daughter will, too.” We send our best wishes to the newly expanded family! Kate Middleton covers the new issue of People, and inside, the Duchess-obsessed mag gives a full run-down on Kate’s recent health woes. As you’ve probably heard, Kate’s been suffering from severe morning sickness – a result of a condition known as Hyperemesis Gravidarum that affects about 1 in 100 pregnant women. Kate made her first public appearance in 10 weeks yesterday, and it was taken by many royal-watchers as an encouraging sign that she’s beginning to recover from her illness. People reports that those closest to Kate believe she’s turned a corner and that the worst is over. In fact, sources say she seems happier than ever these days, and seems thrilled with the prospect of a little brother or sister for Prince George: “She was her smiling, bubbly self,” says one insider who spent time with Kate at recent event. “You would have never guessed she’s been ill.” The source cautions, however, that Kate’s health is not yet back to 100%: “It is not right to say she is absolutely fine. She is still feeling some effects of HG. But she is definitely recovering.” Hyperemesis Gravidarum is usually at its most severe in the first trimester. Kate is due in April , so there’s reason to believe she’s on the mend. While she’s likely to experience some symptoms for the remainder of her pregnancy, insiders have hinted that Kate will be making far more frequent public appearances in the coming months. People Magazine has given fans their first look at Jessica Simpson in her custom-designed Carolina Herrera gown and veil, posting an exclusive photo to its Instagram page of the singer on what she’s described as the “happiest” day of her life. It took place over the weekend when Simpson exchanged vows with long-time boyfriend Eric Johnson. As previously reported, Simpson may have flubbed her marital lines a bit, but she clearly made no such mistake in the fashion department: “It was a labor of love,” stylist Nicole Chavez tells People of putting together Jessica’s outfit , which included the Neil Lane diamond earrings pictured above. Simpson and Johnson got married at San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito, California on Saturday in front of 250 family members and friends. In one of his first interviews since their split, Thicke, 37, explained why he decided to voice such raw emotions during his tour. “My music is very honest about what I’m going through and my songs are about my life,” he told PEOPLE at the grand opening party of Express Times Square in New York City, where he performed on Tuesday. “And my relationship with her was 21 years of my life, so I just thought it was important to me to let people know how much she means to me.” And while Patton, 38, has yet to publicly acknowledge his messages, Thicke says she was touched by them. “She loved it,” Thicke added. “She thought it was the sweetest thing and very romantic, and I’ve always been a romantic guy that way.
