Oksana Grigorieva (remember her?!) feels she was hosed by her own lawyers in her infamous feud with Mel Gibson, ending up in a terrible custody agreement. She’s now suing them. In court papers, Oksana accuses Ron Litz and Daniel Horowitz of negligently advising her to sign off on a bad deal back in 2011. Why was the deal so bad? Allegdly, it forbids her from pursuing any future legal action against Mel regarding their child without jeopardizing the settlement she made with the actor. Gibson agreed to pay Oksana Grigorieva $750,000, plus provide a house for her and support their daughter Lucia until Lucia turns 18. Not a bad deal, right? Not according to Oksana, who says she was also advised by lawyers to sign a legal document that divested her of all ownership rights to her house. Oksana is demanding unspecified damages. In response, Horowitz tells TMZ , “Why can’t she just live her life normally and have a good life, raise the kid, live in the house, make music, be happy?” “Why does she always have to be in a struggle?” “Especially with people who care about her?” Good question.
LeAnn Rimes is opening up about her feud with Eddie Cibrian’s ex, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ Brandi Glanville, calling it ridiculous and one-sided. “It’s a very one-sided war,” she told Entertainment Tonight . “Actually, it’s funny. I write things sometimes that I end up erasing because I just need to write it to get it out. And then I’m like, ‘I really should not post that.’ At least I have a filter.” LeAnn Rimes on Brandi Glanville, Eddie Cibrian The feud between the two women, which began with Rimes and Cibrian’s affair that broke up both of their marriages in 2009, has been in overdrive lately. Things heated up in November when Rimes referred to Eddie’s two sons with Cibrian as “[my] boys.” The next day, Brandi Glanville came back at her, tweeting: “Someone is trying 2 get under my skin by calling MY children ‘her boys’ Sooo transparent! They R MY boys, Eddie’s Boys and ur step-sons … 4 now.” LeAnn’s response was similar to what she expressed at the time. Calling it “pretty ridiculous” and explaining that she was just expressing how much she cares. “My heart overflows with love for those two boys,” she said. Mason, 9, and Jake, 5, are “with us half the time. I am never going to let a child walk into my house and not feel the love that they feel at their mom’s house.” While that’s perfectly reasonable and almost certainly true, did she also publicize it on Twitter to get in a dig at Brandi? That we will never truly know. In any case, it’s been a wild couple of years for Rimes. LeAnn and Eddie met in 2009 and had an affair while they were both married to other people (Cibrian to Glanville and Rimes to Dean Sheremet). Rimes and Cibrian wed in April 2011. Given their history, LeAnn admits she worries – or at least has worried – that Eddie will cheat on her too . She’d be lying if she said she didn’t, she confessed. I have absolutely no idea why Geri Halliwell tweeted this picture of herself in her bra at the recording studio, but over the years, I’ve learned not to question things like this. It’s better to just sit back and enjoy it. Besides, I know what’s it like to have a job you can do in your underwear. It really helps the creative process, something the people at the Starbucks near my house clearly don’t understand as well as Geri. A bidding war has erupted in Las Vegas over the services of the newly-single Britney Spears , who is ready to relocate to Sin City for a regular gig. The price tag? Not small. Three Las Vegas properties are trying to snag her as their headliner. She’d perform several nights a week and make appearances at clubs and events. Despite reports that the pop superstar had already signed with Caesar’s, two other properties have thrown their hat in the ring. It’s a biddin’ war, y’all! Who will win out? Probably whomever coughs up the most money and the best terms for Brit, who’s reportedly seeking a $200 million, two-year contract. Girl’s already got bank. She may soon break it.
NRA President David Keene said he is aggressively preparing for “battle” with the White House and Congress over President Obama’s gun control plan . He also defended the new NRA ad calling Obama an “elitist hypocrite.” NRA Ad: Obama a Hypocrite Keene criticized Obama’s announcement Wednesday, surrounded by four children from around the U.S., for “using kids to advance an ideological agenda.” He expressed confidence that few measures would ultimately pass. “It’s going to be very tough for the president to accomplish some of these things, but that doesn’t mean he can’t do it if he really turns it on,” Keene told ABC. “All bets are off when a president really wants to go to war with you,” the NRA president said, but “We’re gonna be there and we’re gonna fight it.” NRA members would hold accountable any politicians who “sell them out to some pie-in-the-sky scheme such as the president is proposing,” he said. The group launched a new “Stand and Fight” advocacy campaign Tuesday, opposing Obama’s gun control measures, anchored by a controversial new TV ad. The ad calls Obama an “elitist hypocrite” for sending his daughters to a private school with armed guards while being “skeptical” of armed security in all schools. The White House blasted the ad as “repugnant and cowardly.” Keene isn’t backing down, defending the ad last night: “When the question is the protection of children, which is what this is all about… it’s perfectly legitimate to ask why some should be protected and others should not be.” “We were talking about an elite class who criticizes others in their desire to be safe while making sure that they and their families and their children are always protected.” “We were not talking about the president’s kids. We’re not talking about the Secret Service protection [Obama’s] children enjoy – they ought to have that wherever they go.” Keene also slammed Obama for using kids as “props,” saying, “We didn’t line them up on stage and pat them on the shoulder while we urge somebody to take our position.” Gun control: Time for tougher measures? YES. Fewer guns, fewer tragedies! NO. It’s unconstitutional and won’t stop anything! View Poll »
She’s sick of the Khloe Kardashian divorce rumors. And of talk that OJ Simpson is her father . So in the face of two new tabloid stories (below) that focus on each of these allegations, Khloe Kardashian has spoken out. Blog entry style! “It is disgusting that Life & Style and InTouch magazine continue to print these false stories about my life: the status of my marriage, false reports about a miscarriage, the horrible lie that my dad is not my biological father, jealousy over my sisters’ lives, etc,” Khloe wrote . She then continued: “It is a complete waste of time to address these reports every time they print these ridiculous and absurd tabloid stories, but not only are these stories untrue, they’re also unfair to the people who buy the magazine expecting to read accurate reports.” In conclusion, Khloe is not jealous that Kim Kardashian is pregnant. She’s doing just fine, thanks. “I’m happily married to a wonderful man and fall in love with him more and more each day, and we’ll have a baby when god wants us to and when the time is right. These blatant lies are distasteful and shameless.”
Last night’s Golden Globes cemented Argo as the People’s Film from an awards season stand-point, setting the scrappy underdog to stand toe-to-toe with the monolithic Lincoln . Theoretically, the “People’s Film” would be The Hunger Games , which won Favorite Movie at the People’s Choice Awards, but in the context of the Oscars, the populism is relative to the awards — and none of the elite awards are more populist than the Golden Globes. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association established the annual Golden Globes as an opportunity to gather Hollywood’s elite, and the awards create the appearance of a competitive event instead of simply another gala. The goal is TV revenue, ostensibly to fund the HFPA’s philanthropic endeavors. The voting is dubious, with a body of less than 100 journalists with a penchant for press junkets that hinge on the interviewee’s charisma and charm. This is why the Globes live up to their reputation of grinning, drunken swagger: they can be loose and fun, because at the end of the day, it’s not about the awards, it’s about the audience. So the HFPA awarded Argo the title of Best Motion Picture – Drama, as well as giving Ben Affleck the award for Best Director — something he cannot replicate at the Oscars, where he’s not nominated for Best Director. But the narrative is shifting in Argo ’s direction. The film has always been a contender. With just three directed films and a severe image challenge as a personality, actor-turned-director Affleck has reconfigured himself as a filmmaker who demands respect. The fictionalized true story behind Argo , tying a Middle Eastern thriller to Hollywood in-jokes, was always the sort of smart film audiences could embrace. The box office reflected this, earning more than $111 million in the United States (ignoring a probable post-Globe, pre-Oscar rerelease), which is less than Lincoln to date but still nothing to scoff at for an R-rated political thriller. Along the way, Argo has quietly been picking up awards from various critics groups. It was one of the AFI Films of the Year and made the National Board of Review’s Top Films list. It won ensemble awards from the Hollywood Film Festival and Palm Springs International Film Festial, took the top prize from the San Diego critics and took 2nd place from the New York critics. This past week, it scored a major win at the Critics’ Choice Awards, taking Best Picture and Best Director on the same day the AMPAS directing wing blocked Affleck out. Like the Globes, the Critics’ Choice flexed the populism muscle, despite the assumed prestige from an umbrella group of critics. The Critics’ Choice tried something new this year by being broadcast on the CW, awkwardly combining the general intelligence of film critics with the popcorn atmosphere of the network. The organization received flack for poor decisions such as cutting away from the screenplay award (which went to Lincoln ‘s Tony Kushner) and for focusing on less prestigious nominees in favor of name recognition. What all of this amounts to, however, is a critics award that was aiming for Golden Globe-style populism. Argo winning both Critics’ Choice and the Golden Globe for Best Drama has set its tone and changed the popular conversation, commanding awards-watchers to take the film seriously again after losing momentum earlier in the season thanks to the thunder-stealing Zero Dark Thirty . What remains to be seen are the results of the Screen Actors Guild and the BAFTAs . Argo has received ensemble attention, so SAG’s big award isn’t out of the realm of possibility, but Argo has not received the individual acting attention that Les Miserables , Silver Linings Playbook , or even Lincoln have. This makes SAG the biggest landmark on Argo ’s horizon, because a win there would solidify the film’s narrative as the People’s Film, and the one that people want to win it all. My name is Tori, and I’m proud to say that I’ve been a fan of Justin since the beginning. I’ve always dreamed of meeting him, and to be able to write my own Bieber experience. On January 10th, 2013, my dream finally came true. It all started back in May of 2012 when I joined BieberFever and got pre-sale tickets for my best friend Elizabeth and I to see Justin in Little Rock, Arkansas , which is about 20 minutes away from where I live. I was SO excited, and the countdown began. One day back in September, I decided to get on BieberFever because I hadn’t been on there in a while and just wanted to see if there was anything new about the tour coming up. As soon as I logged in I saw an article titled “Rules and Deadlines to Submit for Meet and Greet!” I got excited because I knew that after about 3 years of waiting, I might finally have my chance to meet Justin! I gathered all of my Bieber merch, took a picture, and sent it in . Finally, the day before the concert arrived I began checking my e-mail every thirty minutes to see if I had been chosen to meet Justin the next day! Finally, nine o’clock comes around, and I began to lose hope. I told myself that I would check it one last time, and then go to bed. I opened up my e-mail, and the first thing I see is one new e-mail. I opened it up, and all I read was, “Congratulations, Tori!” and I knew I had won. I screamed at the top of my lungs and started balling because my dream was finally coming true. I called Elizabeth crying, and as soon as she picked up the phone, she knew what was going on. She knew that we were going to meet Justin. I barely got any sleep that night, even though I still had to go to school the next day. The school day flew by, and before I knew it, we were at the box office getting our wristbands for the meet and greet. We stood in line for at least an hour and a half, and the anticipation and excitement just kept building and building! While we were waiting in line, we made friends with all of the people around us, and we also saw Kenny. I wanted to get a picture with him, but he looked stressed out and busy so I didn’t say anything. Then, Elizabeth and I were at the front of the line to go meet Justin. The security guard looked at us and said, “Are you ready?” We said yes, and before I knew it, I was in a room looking at Justin-freaking-Bieber. All I can remember thinking is OMG he’s perfect. I walked up to him and he was being SO sweet talking to this little girl. He was like, “Hi, sweetie! How are you? Will you stand in front of me?” and then he turned to me and he was said, “How are you, babe?” HE CALLED ME BABE. I was all, “Good how are you?” He said he was good and put his arm around my shoulder for the picture, so I put my hand around his waist and smiled for the picture. (I’m wearing the purple shirt, and Elizabeth’s wearing the Hollister shirt) After the picture snapped, I couldn’t think of anything to say, and security was already pushing us out of the room, but at the last minute, Justin was like “I love you!” I turned around, and I said, “Justin I love you too!” and that was the end of it. As soon as we left the room, we both completely lost it. We were hugging each other, jumping up and down and screaming! That was the happiest, and best moment of my life. As soon as we left the meet and greet, we walked to get something to eat, and then went into the arena and got ready for the show to begin. Cody and Carly performed, and it was great. Finally, it was time for Justin. He came out and everyone started going nuts! The concert really was amazing. Justin is such an amazing performer and he really knows how to work the crowd. January 10th was the best day of my life. -@_ToriHunter_ Follow this link: My name is Tori, and I’m proud to say that I’ve been…

I can’t remember the last time I had Rosario Dawson on the site, I’ve never been her biggest fan, and it’s been a while since she’s been in anything. But it looks like Rosario’s landed one of my favorite roles: girl in a bikini at the beach. I just hope there’s a sequel. Maybe with a little more action, and a friend for her to play with. I’ll even write the script. We might need to recast Rosario’s role though. » view all 11 photos Photos: PacificCoastNews
