People’s Court Scandal: Dale Smith Targeted By Police in Michelle Parker Disappearance

Michelle Parker and Dale Smith, a formerly engaged couple, appeared on the People’s Court earlier this month. After the show, Parker mysteriously vanished. Now Smith is in the wind as well, having just been named the primary suspect in her disappearance, according to Orlando, Fla., Police Chief Paul Rooney. Officials confirm Smith, who appeared with Michelle Parker on the show, arguing over the engagement ring he have her, is the target of the investigation. Chief Rooney says Smith refused to take a polygraph test in the case. Michelle Parker Disappearance Parker’s mother, Yvonne Stewart, made a plea during a Monday news conference: “If you could have avoided this Dale, if you had cooperated with the police and if you took a polygraph test when they asked you, you could have avoided a lot of stress.” “We’re not going to stop until we find out who did this,” she adds. According to public records, the pair was involved in a domestic violence case involving children in 2009. Parker and Smith have 3-year-old

British Film Director and "Enfant Terrible" Ken Russell Dies at Age 84

The British aren’t exactly known for their decadent, Baroque sensibilities, but director Ken Russell , who passed away this weekend at the age of 84, spent his life trying to change his country’s “stiff upper lip” image. Russell rose to prominence with 1969’s Women in Love , which shocked viewers with its skinny-dipping scenes, homoerotic undertones, and depiction of- horrors!- the female orgasm. At the time British filmmaking was dominated by “kitchen sink realism,” which rejected fanciful plots and elaborate sets in favor of grey, dour stories about grey, dour people. Russell’s bombastic style flew in the face of all these ideas, as described by Geoff Andrew , head of the British Film Institute: “He used surrealism, exaggeration, colour, music, costume, to push things beyond realism. No-one was doing that in Britain, and the ‘shockingness’ of his style was part and parcel of that. He didn’t feel he had to restrain himself – he didn’t want to be part of this grey world,” Andrews told the UK’s Channel 4. Another shocking aspect of Russell’s films was their plentiful nudity- Helen Mirren , Kathleen Turner , Joely Richardson , Theresa Russell , and Michelle Phillips (to name a few) have all done nudity in Russell films, and Glenda Jackson was one of the first mainstream actresses to go full frontal in The Music Lovers (1971). That same year, Russell’s film The Devils (1971) was widely banned thanks to its depiction of the intersection between sex, violence, and religious ecstasy, a controversy Russell welcomed, as he did with the many outrages his films sparked over the years. A great lover of classical music, Russell gleefully combined high culture and cheap thrills in films like Lisztomania (1975), Mahler (1974) and Lady Chatterly (1992). But he was equally comfortable in the gutter, as shown by his streetwalking sagas Whore (1991) and Crimes of Passion (1984), and this combination made him the perfect conduit to bring the Who’s depraved rock opera Tommy (1975) to the big screen. Russell had trouble securing funding for his elaborate epics later in his career, but his innovations (and skinnovatons!) in the art of cinema have assured his influence will be felt for many years to come. Another Day, Another White Woman Accusing Herman “Big Daddy” Cain Of Inter-Marital Affairs

Damn, these broads are coming out of the woodwork on Herman “Black People Are Gonna Vote For Me” Cain: A new woman alleged a 13-year-old affair with Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain on Monday, prompting the former Godfather’s Pizza CEO to issue fresh denials of any wrongdoing. Cain sought to offer a pre-buttal to an Atlanta FOX affiliate’s report, which is set to air this evening, featuring a woman who alleges she maintained an affair with Cain. Cain offered no specific rebuttals to any of the forthcoming claims, explaining that he would not respond to allegations before the report had aired them. But he did acknowledge a relationship with the new woman, whom he called an “acquaintance” that he had tried to help. “We will address these when they come out. At this point, I just want to give you a heads-up, I don’t have anything to hide,” Cain said on CNN. A preview for the station’s report, which is set to air at 6 p.m., says that Atlanta woman Ginger White claims to have had a 13-year-long affair with Cain, which she would detail publicly. The woman is just the latest accuser of Cain, whose once-promising White House bid has been weighed down by a series of women to have come forward and accused him of sexual misconduct; other women have accused Cain of harassment, not an affair. Some of the women have made the claims publicly, while others’ identities have not been made public. Still, Cain lumped the forthcoming allegation with the previous ones, which he has steadfastly denied and called “baseless.” When asked specifically if he had an affair with this latest accuser, Cain replied: “No, it was not.” Cain’s attorney responded to the FOX affiliate in more evasive terms: “This appears to be an accusation of private, alleged consensual conduct between adults – a subject matter which is not a proper subject of inquiry by the media or the public. No individual, whether a private citizen, a candidate for public office or a public official, should be questioned about his or her private sexual life,” attorney Lin Wood said. The businessman’s campaign had blamed a variety of opponents — from fellow Republican contenders, to Democrats — for the trickle of accusers, and Cain himself indicated Monday that he thought the latest allegation stemmed from someone who wished to slow his campaign. Dayumm, we wonder what Gloria thinks about this one.. Source

Michael Fassbender Looks Back On ‘Surreal’ 2011

From ‘X-Men: First Class’ to ‘Shame,’ Fassbender is one of the actors MTV News is most thankful for this year. By Kevin P. Sullivan, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Michael Fassbender Photo: MTV News Every once in a while, an actor with a breakout role will come along and capture the attention of both moviegoers and the people behind the films. Soon, you can find that same actor headlining films at festivals as well as scoring top billing on blockbusters. For 2011, that actor was undoubtedly Michael Fassbender , who wowed the art-house crowd in 2008 with “Hunger” and found wider audiences the year later with Quentin Tarantino’s “Inglourious Basterds” as the British Lieutenant Archie Hicox, who reserves a circle of hell for people who waste good scotch. This past year was when he became a superstar. He helped lead a brand-new team of mutants to box-office success as a young Magneto in “X-Men: First Class,” and then delivered critically praised performances in “Jane Eyre,” “A Dangerous Method” and “Shame,” for which he’s receiving Oscar buzz. That’s why we’ve named Michael Fassbender one of the actors we’re most thankful for this holiday season. We sat down with Fassbender and gave him a chance to look back on 2011 and tell us why a different year — 2007 — meant everything to him. MTV : Every year at MTV, we choose a few actors that we’re most thankful for around Thanksgiving, and you’ve made the cut. Fassbender : Have I really? MTV : You have. Fassbender : Nice one. MTV : Obviously, a couple years back, when “Inglourious” hit, especially, that was a big moment for you, but it feels like this year has to be professionally the most satisfying year. Fassbender : No, I got to say, for me, definitely 2007 changed my life. MTV : “Hunger.” Fassbender : Yeah, Steve McQueen gave me an opportunity, a possibility to show some sort of capability in my profession. It was coming at a point when we were about to go into a recession. That was going to affect this business as much as any business — less jobs for less actors. For him to take a risk on an unknown in a lead role, it changed my life, really. From that, I had all these amazing experiences with Andrea Arnold, Quentin Tarantino, Steven Soderbergh, Cary Fukunaga, David Cronenberg, Ridley Scott. MTV : It feels like this is where it all bears fruit. The seeds that were planted then, now it all starts to come out. Fassbender : Yeah, you start off and you just want to be working, so jobbing actors, you’re already thankful for that opportunity. To be in this position that I’m in now, it’s ridiculous. Somebody pull the plug on me now. I have to say I’m blessed. When I started out when I was 17, this was the pinnacle, to be working with people that I find inspiring, I can learn from. It’s a very privileged position. MTV : Was there one particular moment in this year of 2011 that was the most surreal, the biggest high for you? A lot of premieres, a lot of production work, a lot of press. Was there one moment you can pinpoint? Fassbender : Just lots of surreal moments. When I was sitting in a balcony in Venice — I’ve never been to Venice before — and I’m there with family and friends, and we’re like, “Wow, this is a trip, isn’t it?” We’re all sort of experiencing this together. You’re always sort of pinching yourself. Being on a Quentin Tarantino set. When I was 18, I did a stage version of “Reservoir Dogs” with my friends, where I directed, produced, played Mr. Pink. I mean, I was totally green. I didn’t know what the hell I was doing, but I knew that with hard work and enthusiasm, things get done. So then to be sitting on set with him, I was like, “This is weird.” Already at the audition with him was strange, because he reads all the other parts. That was surreal. To have this sort of reception we’ve had for both films in Venice, to be there with two films, all those things are pretty mad. Pusha T Calls ‘What Dreams Are Made Of’ Clip ‘Arrogant’

Fear of God II: Let Us Pray video pays homage to Ronald Reagan, G.O.O.D. Music rapper explains on set. By Nadeska Alexis Pusha T Photo: Neilson Barnard/ Getty Images Pusha T ‘s full-length solo debut won’t hit shelves until 2012, but in the meantime, the G.O.O.D. Music rapper will continue to release singles and accompanying videos from his November EP, Fear of God II: Let Us Pray . MTV News caught up with Pusha on set in Brooklyn, New York, this month where he explained the concept of the “What Dreams Are Made Of” video, set to debut soon. ” Fear of God II: Let Us Pray is all about street music, and it’s really for my fans, 100 percent just for my fans,” Pusha began. “If you love what I’m about and what I’ve been doing all these years, then it’s for you, and I’d be cheapening [the project] if I didn’t shoot a video for one of the harder records off of the EP,” he added, referring to “Dreams.” “[The video] is arrogant, it’s a bit brash, it’s about excess, fast living and articulating a lifestyle, a lifestyle that we know very well,” the Virginia rapper elaborated, before digging deeper into the track’s meaning. “Lyrically, it’s about how our people fell victim to drugs, but it wasn’t all our fault: [Ronald] Reagan had a lot to do with that; don’t just blame us.” In one segment of the video, Pusha is perched on a chair reminiscent of a throne, surrounded by champagne and a few illegal substances that pop up fairly often in his music. The most-surprising item in the scene, however, is a jar full of jellybeans, which are intended as a tribute to the former president. “Ronald Reagan was an avid jellybean lover, so we’ve got to pay homage to him. We have to: He had a lot to do with this,” Pusha explained. “The Ronald Reagan era was a tough time and a detrimental time to the black community, but we adapted.” To clarify, Pusha explained that his music isn’t usually inspired by Reagan, but “Dreams” does bear a direct reference to him. “I have a very mean couplet in this song that describes what Reagan did and how Nancy [Reagan] tried to be down too, so we decided to showcase that with the jellybean.” After the premiere of “What Dreams Are Made Of,” Pusha plans to roll out a few more videos from Fear of God II , depending on the schedules of the rappers featured on his songs. “I’m so passionate about a lot of the records that I definitely want to shoot a couple more [videos],” he said. Kate Winslet Likes Child Rapists of the Day

I get that Roman Polanski is a cinematic genius who was just fucked up when his wife and their unborn baby was killed by Charles Manson, so fucked up that he did the natural thing guys do when they are at their lowest, and fed a teen drugs and had sex with her, forcing him to flee the country and live in exile in Switzerland, never to return because it is not worth getting arrested for…. I also get that you can’t judge a man by his sexual dysfunction, I mean if we did, we wouldn’t have priests to talk to, elementary school teachers to teach or kids, birthday party clowns….or gays and lesbian friends. But I like to point and laugh when actors or other people are hamming it up with perverts and kissing them like they aren’t perverts because it is a political move for their careers, because the man is a genius, without realizing all the Christians back in America, who are likely perverts themselves, just oppresed properly, are going to be offended by her being so Euro and lax about sex offenders….cuz Europe remains far cooler than America on all levels…. Ashley Greene Slutty Lie in Esquire Mexico of the Day

It makes me laugh that this twilight star ever pretended to be wholesome, or good, or christian when staging a relationship with the Jonas Brother…when you know the whole reason she’s famous is cuz she fucks and cuz people want to fuck her… So this slutty but good christian girl who lives a life in god’s image and practices abstinence until she is married, at least in theory, because that is what she says for her PR campaign….when saying that alone should make her burn in hell for lying to the church and the people in efforts of landing fans and broadening her scope as an celebrity….to one deeper rooted than just being on Twilight…. I hate how Christian America pretends to be, when it is filled with sin….lies…corruption….greed and everything else totally unchristian…Drop the act and turn the world into one big brothel…like Ashley Greene is turning this magazine into a brothel…all titty and slutty and enjoyable to look at….even if she’s a criminal to the church….amongst all the other criminals in the church….so I guess it isn’t a big deal…not that I ever thought it was…

AMAs Ruled By Taylor Swift, Nicki Minaj, More Ladies

Jennifer Lopez and Katy Perry also get AMA love, while Justin Bieber and Chris Brown rep for the fellas with their performances. By Jocelyn Vena Taylor Swift at the 2011 AMAs on Sunday Photo: Jeff Kravitz/ AMA2011/ FilmMagic On Sunday night (November 20), the music industry’s A-listers gathered inside Los Angeles’ Nokia Theatre to celebrate some of 2011’s most memorable musical moments. It was a night dominated by chart-toppers like Taylor Swift , Nicki Minaj and Jennifer Lopez . Minaj and David Guetta were the first to electrify the stage. The two stars joined forces to get the room jumping with their track “Turn Me On,” which transitioned into Nicki’s breakthrough hit “Super Bass.” Maroon 5 were the first big winners, taking home Favorite Pop/Rock Band, Duo or Group. “This is our first one. This is crazy. I think in order to get one of these, you have to have loyal fans,” lead singer Adam Levine said. Next up, Swift nabbed a trophy for Favorite Country Female Artist. After hugging pal Selena Gomez, Taylor excitedly accepted her award wearing a glittering gown. “I want to thank my band and my crew and the fans for filling up stadiums,” she said. “And my mom and my dad and my brother who came with me tonight, and my fans who continue to amaze me.” Sean Kingston was onstage to welcome his “true friend” Justin Bieber, whom he noted kept in touch with him continually during his recovery earlier this year. Bieber brought a little Christmas to the stage, performing his Under the Mistletoe song “Mistletoe.” The flurry of performances continued, including one from the Band Perry (who appear on Bieber’s UTM ) singing their crossover track “If I Die Young.” Then 50 Cent took the stage to proclaim the following about Chris Brown: “You haven’t seen this guy till you’ve seen him perform onstage. It’s the main event.” Brown gave the room a little medley , slowing it down with “All Back” then transitioning into “Say It With Me.” Nicki Minaj took home her first award for Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Artist. She was the only girl up against Yeezy and Weezy. “I didn’t think I was going to win it,” she told the room. “I have to thank God … and Taylor Swift, wherever you are. I want to thank my Barbz. There’s power in your peace. Hold your peace.” Kelly Clarkson performed a big-band-inspired version of her song “Mr. Know It All” before Favorite Soul/R&B Album was handed out to Rihanna for Loud. In a pre-taped message, Rihanna said, “This means a lot to me. I love you guys. Thanks to all my fans.” Enrique Iglesias took the stage with a little help from a marching band to perform his feel-good track “I Like How It Feels” then recalled his performance last year when he once again performed “Tonight.” Jennifer Lopez followed up her fellow Latin superstar, kicking off her performance in a very diva way, complete with a flowing gown and wind machine, before kicking into high gear with “Papi,” for which she changed into a sparkly, body-hugging outfit. For her third costume change, Pitbull took the stage with her for “On the Floor.” Lady Antebellum locked in the prize for Favorite Country Band, Duo or Group. Leading lady Hillary Scott said, “We just want to say thank you to the fans. It starts and ends with you.” Adam Lambert made his return to the AMA stage two years after his memorable (and divisive ) debut performance, welcoming OneRepublic, who performed “Good Life” and had Bieber bopping his head from the audience. Then, Minaj was back again, winning Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Album for Pink Friday. Swift handed it off to her before Minaj said, “This one can actually make me cry. I can’t believe this is happening … just chase your dreams,” she told her fans. “Shout out to all the female rappers, past, present and future.” Pitbull was joined by hypeman Lil Jon and Marc Anthony for “Rain Over Me” before Katy Perry took the stage . All decked out in pink, she embraced the sadness of her track “The One That Got Away” by keeping it simple and acoustic. Immediately after performing, Perry was surprised with a special award of achievement for being the first woman in the history of pop music to have five #1 singles from one album . “Can I just say, thank you so much for letting me be a chameleon this year. I love you so much, and I also love my fans. I want to thank my band and all of the people who came out to see me.” Hot Chelle Rae won for New Artist of the Year before J.Lo took it home for Favorite Latin Artist. “I’m shaking,” she said. “I didn’t expect to win. It’s been a really amazing year in so many ways. It’s been up and down. It’s been exciting and overwhelming. I’m just grateful for all my blessings.” Mary J. Blige brought some swagger to the stage for “Mr. Wrong” before paying homage to late MC Heavy D . “Rest in peace to my dear friend, the lovable, the great Heavy D. I miss you so much, brother.” The Favorite Soul R&B Female Artist went to Beyonc

Katy Perry Strips Down ‘One That Got Away’ At AMAs

After her set, Perry was presented with a special award for having five #1 singles on Teenage Dream. By James Dinh Katy Perry performs at the 2011 American Music Awards Photo: Getty Images In the past year, Katy Perry has pulled out some show-stopping performances, but the pop titan was all about simplicity when she performed an acoustic version of her latest single, “The One That Got Away” at the 2011 American Music Awards . Standing on a circular platform, Perry appeared onstage before pink-tinged light beams that appropriately matched her hair. In place of the midtempo tune that is heating up radio airwaves, the singer stripped down the song as she played the guitar and was accompanied by her background band. Mrs. Russell Brand belted her way through the regretful love song while her set turned into a starry sky when the backdrop evolved into a screen of speckled stars. Upon the conclusion of her number, the pop star was met with a standing ovation as well as a special award of achievement for scoring five #1 singles from Teenage Dream on Billboard ‘s Hot 100, an achievement only equal to Michael Jackson and his 1987 Bad LP. “Yay! Can I just say, thank you so much for letting me be a chameleon this year,” the starlet screamed during her acceptance speech. “I’m very, very, very pleased, and I want to give thanks to my amazing record label, EMI and Capitol. … I’m about to wrap up my California Dreams Tour , 122 dates, so I want to thank my band and all the people that came out to see me, and all of you guys, ’cause you’re pretty cool too!” This is just the latest treat Perry has offered fans in recent weeks. A little more than a week ago, she dropped the clip for the Dr. Luke and Max Martin-produced tune . The video, which was directed by Floria Sigismondi, takes viewers down memory lane as the pop star recalls her relationship with the one that got away. Did you enjoy Katy’s acoustic set?
