Rick Ross Promises A ‘Classic Debut’ From Meek Mill

‘You can expect real hip-hop from me: spit, versatility,’ Philly MC tells ‘RapFix Live.’ By Rob Markman, with reporting by Sway Calloway Rick Ross and Meek Mill Photo: Johnny Nunez/ WireImage Meek Mill is on fire right now. Just last week the Maybach Music rookie dropped the high-powered remix of his “Ima Boss” single, and while another rapper in his position might rush to put an album out in order to capitalize off the momentum, Meek is taking his time. When Meek Milly’s debut album does drop his MMG boss, Rick Ross , has no doubt that it’ll be quality. As a matter of fact, when Rozay and Meek were featured on “RapFix Live” on Wednesday, the Bawse made the proclamation of all proclamations. “Meek Mill debut gonna be a classic,” Ross boasted as his Philadelphia prot

Paramore Look To Rediscover ‘Fun’ On New Album

In new interview, Paramore talk about moving on from the Farros and inspiring fans. By James Montgomery Paramore Photo: MTV News Paramore are moving forward, with a song-a-month “Singles Club” and plans for a new album in 2012. But in the new issue of Alternative Press (on newsstands December 1), they aren’t shying away from the past either. For the magazine’s cover story, Paramore discuss the departure of founding members Josh and Zac Farro last winter and how it forced them to realize that perhaps they had been approaching the business of being in a band from the wrong angle. Namely, they forgot all about the fun. “We’ve always enjoyed what we do,” guitarist Taylor York told the magazine, “but we’d watch other bands on tour with us, and they would just be having a blast. They’d be in vans, all cramming in one hotel room. Every day, they were just stoked to be there. In my head, I’m like, ‘Either they’re just really mistaken, or we’re missing something. I don’t think it’s possible to have that much fun.’ ” “I felt so bad for the longest time, because we made being in a band look like it wasn’t fun,” frontwoman Hayley Williams added. “In my opinion. Other people might not have thought that, but you imagine all the interviews we did where it was just like, ‘Uhh … ‘ ” Gee, wonder which interview she’s referring to? Still, after surviving the split with the Farros, Paramore rediscovered the joy of being in a band while on tour in South America, and that’s what gave them the desire to press on with a new album. “This winter, when Zac and Josh left, we went through a really hard time,” York said. “I think we had to go through that. We all love each other, but we had to come together so closely that we really rediscovered how much we really love each other — and how much we love playing music. We had to go through that to realize what we had.” Recharged, Paramore are pressing on with their new record — one that, from the sound of things, will be a spirited affair indeed. “It’s important for young people to know how much fun it is to make music with your friends,” Williams said. “You have to fight for it, of course, but it’s the biggest gift to play music for people, and it’s a gift even if you’re not playing for anybody. It’s fun, and I’m excited. We’re stoked to have that spirit revolving around this [forthcoming] album and just relax into the process.” What are you expecting from Paramore’s next album? Peter King Says That Occupiers Are Living In ‘Feces And Urine’

On November 17, 2011 I meet the most swagerific kid ever a.k.a…

On November 17, 2011 I meet the most swagerific kid ever a.k.a Justin Bieber. My friends and I were waiting for him to come out of Z100. There was about 20 other people there but I was the only guy, male fan! When Justin went inside, everyone who was there got a picture with him and I got there after he went in, so I missed the opportunity. I waited out in the cold for about 2 hours, it was freezing! Then finally, the time came. Justin came back outside and he went towards my side and signed some stuff. I asked him for picture because I hadn’t got one yet, he agreed to it which was really nice of him! This was first time getting an actually good picture with him. I was really happy. I know most guys don’t say this, but Justin is one of my inspirations and my role-model . I am not afraid to say that. It was really nice meeting him again and finally getting a picture!! It was so cool meeting him! Kid has so much swag! I also dig he’s been really nice lately which is always cool. -@SwagerificDanny @NYCLovesSelenaG Read the original: On November 17, 2011 I meet the most swagerific kid ever a.k.a…

Rick Ross Plans To Delay God Forgives, I Don’t

‘The date is still tentative because of my health situation,’ Ross tells ‘RapFix Live.’ By Nadeska Alexis, with reporting from Sway Calloway Rick Ross Photo: MTV News Rick Ross appeared on Wednesday’s (November 16) “RapFix Live” to give fans an update on his health and the status on his fifth solo album, God Forgives, I Don’t, after suffering two seizures in October. With Maybach Music rapper Meek Mill at his side, Ricky Rozay confirmed that the December 13 release date for his album is subject to change because of the lull in his workflow. “The date is still tentative, December 13. [Because of] my little health situation, I had to postpone a lot of my groundwork,” Ross said. “And I feel like that’s important for artists like myself. “If I wanted to, I’m pretty sure I could still meet that date, but I think for the people, it’s more important [to lay groundwork] for when I get out there and look them in the face and touch them hands,” Ross said, explaining the likelihood of a delay. “We’ve just gotta lay ground for it, and I’mma keep y’all updated.” During his rest and recovery period, Ross had time to link up with Jay-Z for a new track, which is set to appear on God Forgives, I Don’t. “Just expect the biggest collabo we’ve ever made together. It’s just gonna make the project mean that much more,” he said. “Any time me and the Big Homie get together, you know I’m coming with my A-game, ’cause I wanna make sure the homie is impressed with whatever I’m coming to the table with — and he was. He blessed me, so y’all get ready for it.” Until Rick Ross finally releases God Forgives, I Don’t, he continues to heavily promote Ambition, the sophomore album from his Maybach Music artist Wale. For Your Information: 7 Of The Worst Paying Jobs That STILL Require A College Degree

With the economy as bad as it is, even having a college degree isn’t enough to get by… College graduates with student loans owed an average of $25,250 in 2010, an all-time high and a 5 percent increase, according to a recent report. What makes matters worse is that students graduating in 2010 faced unemployment of 9.1 percent, the highest annual rate on record, according to the Project on Student Debt’s report. Given the grim figures facing college graduates, 24/7 Wall St. reviewed wage data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics to identify the seven occupations that require at least a college degree and pay the least. Jobs that pay poorly and require a college degree or higher have at least one thing in common: the wrong industry. Some industries, including those in mental health, academic research, the arts and publishing tend to pay poorly. The entry level jobs in these fields and on this list do not pay well. Reporters starting out make less than $20,000 per year. Many of the people employed in the jobs on our list will have a hard time paying off their student loans. The occupations on the list earn less than $40,000 annually. In every case, jobs paid far less to start. A quarter of the people employed as survey researchers, for example, earn less than $24,000 annually. 24/7 Wall St. examined wage data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ Occupational Employment Statistics Database, to identify the major occupations that make less than $40,000 annually. BLS’s Occupational Outlook Handbook was used to identify educational requirements and long-term job prospects. O*Net Online, an independent career research and advisory site, was used to determine the percentage of people in each occupation with a bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD. The seven occupations on our list required a bachelor’s degree or more from most employers. Our best suggestion for those going about to go to college would be to pick a major that you’re passionate about with the understanding that it may be tough for a few years while you attempt to move up past entry level. For those who are about to graduate college, you may want to think about grad school and additional forms of education…just a thought. Source Flip the script to see the list…

Russell Simmons, ?uestlove React To Zuccotti Park Raid

More celebs weigh in after Roots drummer tried to warn Occupy Wall Street protesters of police action via Twitter. By Gil Kaufman Russell Simmons Photo: MTV News Roots drummer ?uestlove just happened to be driving by New York’s Zuccotti Park late Monday night when he noticed something odd happening at the Occupy Wall Street site. “OMG, drivin down south st. near #OWS. Somethin bout to go down yo, swear I counted 1,000 riot gear cops bout to pull sneak attack #carefulyall,” he tweeted around midnight. He wasn’t wrong, as a short time later the NYPD stormed the site of the sit-in protest and forcibly removed the residents of “Freedom Park” in order to clean up the public square. Quest continued to issue his warnings for about an hour after his initial tweet, finally getting confirmation from fellow Twitter users a short time later that his suspicions were true. “I was tryna downplay it 1ce tweets were discrediting me,” he wrote once the raid was underway in the early Tuesday morning (November 15) hours. “But I swear I saw like 6 city blocks of nothin but riot gear cops under my bridge.” The Roots drummer wasn’t the only one who noticed some late night action in the vicinity. Comedian Kathy Griffin posted a tweet after leaving the Larry King Friars Club roast on Monday night, writing , “Whoa! On my late nite NYC walk. Passed Zuccoti park, saw a large group of people running. Nypd walking in formation in riot gear.” Click through to “Voices From Occupy Wall Street” — our interactive photo gallery — and get to know 20 young demonstrators’ motivations, hopes and goals. Hip-hop icon Russell Simmons urged protesters to keep up the fight. The Def Jam co-founder, who is slated to visit the Occupy Boston site on Tuesday and make what he called a “major” announcement that will “promote more equal and just democracy,” tweeted about the new location OWS members headed toward following the raid. “Foley square is the new zucootti for now here in the city..fyi #occupywallstreet,” he wrote early Tuesday morning. Russell Brand, who had visited OWS with Simmons, was none too pleased, writing , “#OWS moved out of Liberty Park ‘because they’re blocking 1st responders’- here’s my 1st response ‘that’s bull—t.’ ” There were plenty of others who weighed in as well, including Huffington Post founder Arianna Huffington, who lamented , “Quite a message to send — destroying, reportedly, 5K books at #OWS.” Actor/activist Mark Ruffalo added , “People in Liberty Park were pepper sprayed. Police beat women. Press pushed out so they could not witness the crackdown. Dehumanizing 99%#Ows.” Filmmaker Michael Moore promised that this was not the end, tweeting , “Phase Two of this massive, nonviolent MAJORITY movement will now commence. Wall St will wish they had just left it alone in the park. #ows,” while Public Enemy leader Chuck D said , “The People are thrown into the abyss of believing a flawed system. Thrown off track, thrown at, thrown a bone with the meat cleaned off it.” Share your thoughts on the Occupy movement in the comments below.
