C candidates were making their final pushes on Election Day eve to turn out the vote, with celebrities expected to help make the case to Floridians. In one of the most widely watched races in the nation, music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs was expected to lead a rally Monday night at Florida A&M University for Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum . See Also: Political Races To Watch In 2018 Midterm Elections Featuring Black Candidates “I am so proud to endorse Andrew Gillum, who will become the first Black governor of Florida,” Combs said in a video, underscoring that he’s not endorsing Gillum because he’s Black. “He’s running a campaign for the people. I’ve spoken to him at length. I believe in him — his focus, his ideas, what he stands for.” Diddy was scheduled to be joined by several other stars, including Tiffany Haddish  and Will Packer. Gillum continued to hold on to a slim lead in the polls, according to the NBC News/Marist survey released Monday. The Tallahassee mayor had an edge of four percentage points over former Rep. Ron DeSantis  , a Republican who has the full endorsement of President Donald Trump . Meanwhile, in Georgia Democratic gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams reiterated her dismissal of rival Brian Kemp ’s unsubstantiated claim that state Democrats may have hacked into computers that hold voter registration data. It was another example of Georgia Secretary of State Kemp’s “pattern of voter suppression,” she told “CBS This Morning” on Monday. Abrams, who could become the nation’s first African-American governor, planned to spend part of Monday campaigning in southwestern Georgia. Several high-profile politicians and celebrities have campaigned for Abrams, including former President Barack Obama, media legend Oprah Winfrey and rapper Common. Delgado is part of the blue wave that Democrats hope will help them retake the House of Representatives. Republican John Faso currently holds New York’s 19th Congressional District seat, but Democrats believe they have a good chance to swing the district, which is 90 percent white, over to their side. Jill Duggar: I Love Derick Dillard More Than I Love Our Kids!

So Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard … Things have been pretty weird for them lately, huh? Well, they’ve been weird for years, but that’s just how things go in Duggar relationships. Perhaps it would be more accurate to say that things have been different. It all started several months ago when rumors began swirling that Derick was cheating on Jill . The rumors started with anonymous claims about his unfaithfulness, then when Duggar fans and haters began to notice, that’s when things really started heating up. And Jill and Derick haven’t done too much to fight those rumors — quite the opposite, actually. A couple of months ago, Jill shared a photo of her bible, and everyone quickly noticed that she had an entire passage about adultery highlighted . In the caption of that photo, she wrote that she was praying for Derick, which … not a great sign. Last month, she shared another photo of more reading material — this time, she had a book about boundaries and creating them with toxic people in your life . Interesting, right? But now, in a brand new post, she’s changing her tune a bit. And it sure is nauseating. Along with the photo, she wrote a sickeningly sweet caption that she kicked off with a “man of my dreams” hashtag. (Sad dreams, Jill, but OK.) She then thanked him “for being my man and my best friend!” “Love you!” she continued. “When I count my blessings, you’re at the top of my list!” “So grateful to God for you!” She wrapped things up with some kiss emojis and a “so in love” hashtag. For one, it’s kind of strange that she straight up said that Derick is her number one blessing, huh? Like, “sorry, Israel and Samuel, Mommy loves Daddy more than you.” For two, pretty much no one was here for this silliness. “In what universe does a girl/young woman ‘dream’ of marrying a lazy, bigoted, chronically unemployed grifter who drifts from job to job and resorts to GoFundMe scams to support her and her kids ?” one of her followers asked. Another person said that instead of being the man of her dreams, Derick is more likely “a man of your nightmares!” “I am not really sure what you see in that man,” yet another doubtful fan wrote. “He is soo full of himself!! The god I believe in would not hate or chastize a person for being gay or transgender .” Other people pointed out that everything Jill said is really the kind of thing that would be much more meaningful if she actually said it to Derick instead of posting about it on social media. Still others insisted that she’s just trying to talk him up because everyone hates him . One of those people said that “Jill has to make him ‘look good,’ it’s a way of being in denial to herself that she is with the wrong person.” “But she has no choice bc of her family and their values of marrying strangers and arranged at that.” But whatever her motivations were for posting this, or however mistaken she may be, Derick is still into it. “Aw, I’m blessed beyond measure by you babe, and I’ll love you forever,” he responded to Jill on Twitter. “Thanks for being the best wife and mom to our boys! Ciara Sivels Becomes First Black Woman To Earn Nuclear Engineering Ph.D. From University Of Michigan

B lack women are raising the bar in the realm of academia. In July, Miami native Mareena Robinson Snowden became the first Black woman to earn a Ph.D. in nuclear engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and now another woman has hit the same milestone at another institution. According to the Huffington Post , Ciara Sivels has become the first African-American woman to earn a nuclear engineering Ph.D. from the University of Michigan. Dr. Ciara Sivels is 27 years old. https://t.co/tZXmP1JdoS — HuffPost BlackVoices (@blackvoices) November 2, 2018 The institution has one of the top nuclear engineering programs in the country, the news outlet writes. 27-year-old Sivels—who hails from Virginia—submitted her thesis titled “Development of an Advanced Radioxenon Detector for Nuclear Explosion Monitoring” last month and earned her doctorate degree. Sivels wasn’t always passionate about STEM. She initially wanted to pursue a career in the culinary industry. It was her high school chemistry teacher who convinced her to give STEM a try. “I was originally going to go to culinary school. In my junior and senior years, I was in culinary arts,” she told the news outlet. “I remember the teacher from that class saying, ‘Oh, you’re really smart, you should think about doing something other than culinary.’ So that’s kinda how I switched over into engineering and eventually ended up at MIT and ended up in the nuclear program.” Sivels’ academic journey was far from easy. Although at times she wanted to give up she decided to stay the course because she realized that what she was working towards was something that was bigger than her. Now that she has her Ph.D. under her belt, Sivels is focused on becoming a professor. She’s relocating to Baltimore and will work in Johns Hopkins University’s physics department. She believes in the power of representation and hopes that her journey will inspire other people of color to pursue careers in STEM. “My two big things are representation and exposure. I still feel like exposure is key and representation also helps, because you have people that look like you that can help pull you up when you’re failing,” she said. Sivels’ accomplishment is one step forward towards changing the narrative about Black women in STEM. According to Catalyst Inc. , Black, Latinx, and Asian women made up less than 10 percent of engineers and scientists in 2015. On Instagram the dancehall musician stressed that she altered her appearance to make a powerful statement about a “taboo” topic: Colorism in the Black community . “I chose to do this in the manner I did because I believe Colorism is plagiarizing our black community,” she wrote. “While it appeared as if I had ‘bleached’ my skin, causing a world wide debate, and even though the picture was obviously birthed around my single titled ‘Black hypocrisy’ and my mixtape Captured.” She added, “There are dark skin women across the world complaining every day that they are being downplayed and degraded, but the raw truth is it is us ‘Black women’ and ‘Black men’ that are fighting against each other and tearing down our own race.” “It’s evident in the social media comments every day, I myself have lived through it all being downgraded by my dark complexion.” Spice also made sure she let everyone know that she did not bleach her skin and that she didn’t release that picture of herself clearly lighter skinned to merely sell records. “I want to openly say it was not a ‘publicity stunt.’ I wanted to create awareness to “Colorism” and it was more so done intentionally to create shock value so that I could have the worlds undivided attention to deliver the message in my music.” As we previously reported , Spice shocked her fans when she released the following picture: Spice’s controversial promotion raised eyebrows, but for good reason. Don McLean, 73, Confirms Relationship with 24-Year-Old Model Paris Dylan

Don McLean’s last marriage lasted for about 29 years and ended with him getting arrested for domestic violence against then-wife Patrisha. Now, the 73-year-old music legend has moved on with a 24-year-old girlfriend, Paris Dylan. The couple has made their relationship official by gushing about it on Instagram. Don McLean is a musician, best known for the album American Pie and particularly for the song of the same name. Paris Dylan is a Catfish alum who has been featured in Playboy and Maxim . They’ve made it very clear on social media that they are dating. “A dream with my love,” Paris captioned one recent photo. In another, she gushes, calling McLean the “love of my life.” In October, she wished him: “happy birthday my baby, my beauty, love of my life, my everything.” The pair of them have done a lot of traveling this year. The singer and his model girlfriend visited Germany, France, the UK, and Israel. While in France, Paris visited the city of the same name. The couple, as you can see in the photo above, posed in front of the Eiffel Tower. They also visited the Louvre. It’s unclear when their relationship officially began. As far back as November of 2016, Paris shared a photo of the two of them, but that’s not the same thing as dating. It was really in March of 2018 when the two of them seemed to be joined at the hip — almost literally — and posting a steady stream of photos. That is when the two were “linked,” but officially speaking, they were just pals. Now that they’ve both been gushing about each other and sharing the same photos on social media, we can comfortably call them a couple. Paris Dylan is a model who, as we mentioned, has posed for Playboy and Maxim . As you can see in every photo in which she appears, she certainly has the qualifications — and we mean that sincerely — for that kind of modeling. But she is really best known for appearing in a wildly elaborate episode of Catfish . That particular episode, as you may recall, involved NBA star Chris “Birdman” Andersen. Now she’s traveling the world with a music legend and, from what she rights on social media, both deeply in love and enjoying each country she visits. The couple’s age gap spans nearly 50 years. People can have a cynical view towards relationships that feature massive age gaps. A lot of the time, there’s a pattern. Often, there’s a very unbalanced power dynamic that favors the party who is older, wealthier, more famous, and male. Some may view Paris Dylan as either a lucky groupie, someone being exploited in their search for stability, or even a predator taking advantage of an older man. We would prefer to reserve judgment until there is any indication that this is something other than a relationship between two people born at very different times. So far, there are no hints that anyone involved is in any way unhappy. Until that changes, let’s leave well enough alone. Maybe we can even be happy for them. Omari Hardwick was suppose to be promoting his new film “Nobody’s Fool” with Tika Sumpter on the Breakfast Club Wednesday, but things took a turn when a fan called in and said the Power star denied her a photo. The caller claimed: I was in Brooklyn Bridge Park and I spotted Omari Hardwick. I told him he was a great actor and that I was fan and I asked if I could get a photo with him. He was like “No photos because I’m with my family.” So I said, “Oh really, okay,” and started to walk off. He started screaming at me “All you care about is Ghost, you don’t care about my family.” I said “Now I see that you’re a complete assh***” and I turned around and walked away. Omari told his side of the story, saying: She said “really?  I said “Really. I’m with my family, God Bless You.” Then she stays. I said “You’re staring at me, you’re not even acknowledging my family.” I’m like “Are you tryna buck up at my. I said it! Why are you starrng?” Sometimes [my wife] takes the camera and snaps the picture, so obviously she’s a secure woman. Obviously the people that Tika and I go home to are secure people.” He continued on about his wife: “Ni**a [my wife] saved my life. You don’t know the story. Ni**a I was broke as fu**. She saved my fu**ing life, chill the fu** out. Relax. And then acknowledge her enough. You acknowledge that she’s a breathing entity. The Walking Dead Recap: Did Maggie Kill Negan?

Ever since the brutal murder of Glen on The Walking Dead Season 7 Episode 1 , the love of his life, Maggie has been desperately trying to find a way to avenge his death.  Sunday’s episode of the AMC hit found Maggie arming herself to murder Negan, the former leader of the Saviors who carried out the deed.  Jesus was on Maggie’s side, insisting that Rick was in the wrong for allowing Negan to breathe another day, but was another murder the way forward? “I am,” she claimed after Jesus asked whether she was the right one to make the decision. “I’ll be back when it’s done.” As Maggie set off on her fateful mission, Rick was learning a whole lot of bad news from Eugene.  The bridge the communities were trying to restore was damaged beyond repair thanks to a storm, making all of the efforts a waste of time.  Eugene felt awful that he couldn’t salvage the bridge and felt like if he had studied some different things he could have helped.  It was a bad news day all round for Rick as he learned that Carol was taking her people back to the Kingdom and that Maggie was gearing up to kill Negan.  Rick sent a message to Alexandria to keep Maggie away from the villain and set off to get there to deal with the situation.  In a surprisingly silly move, Rick accepted a ride from Daryl, who took him in a different direction. That’s when Rick realized that his leadership was being called into question.  The two men found themselves in a ditch and trying to get to the root cause of their issues, but Daryl admitted he would be ecstatic if Maggie took Negan out of the equation.  “I’d die for you, and I would’ve died for Carl,” Daryl concluded. “But you’re chasing something for him that ain’t meant to be, man.” While the men were hashing out their differences, Negan was trying to get closer to Michonne. Negan was having some sort of protest that found him refusing to eat food.  “The hunger strike ends today,” Michonne complained, but Negan continued to imply that the two of them were very similar and that they would work well together.  “Behind walls, bars, we die,” he said, before saying she was likely happy that she lost her son.  “Because you know all he woulda done was make you weak,” the villain said. But Michonne was done listening to him.  As if that was not enough action for one outing, Carol caught up with the Saviors and realized they knew all about the Oceansiders offing their people.  The most surprising thing here was that Carol was retreating because she was leading her people home.  “You’re a weak little woman who got in a lucky shot,” Jed laughed at her, and that’s when Carol opened fire.  Back in Negan’s little cell, Michonne returned to make him aware that they couldn’t be more different, and that while he has nothing to live for, she has her daughter and will battle for the life she deserves.  In the end, Rick had to do battle with herds of walkers and found himself falling off his horse and out cold.  Rick’s final episode airs on AMC next week. Jen Harley and Ronnie Magro Seriously Can’t Quit Each Other

It seems very possible that Jen Harley recently pounded Ronnie Ortiz-Magro in the face. Despite this allegation, however, the troubled reality stars continue to pound each other. In the bedroom, we mean. Just a few days ago, Ronnie shared a close-up of his face and his left eye, both of which appeared to be battered and bruised. Along with this disturbing image, the veteran Jersey Shore cast member wrote as a caption: “Sorry for lying to my friends and family. Sometimes u love people so much [you’re] willing to lie and the hurt the people that love u the most to protect.” Translation: Harley beat the crap out of me again. Right? How else were we meant to interpret this message and this picture? A few months prior to Ronnie’s apparent assault reveal, he had been dragged down the street from a car that Harley was driving./ No, really: HARLEY DRAGGED RONNIE DOWN THE STREET BY HER CAR . And just a short time before this ridiculous incident, Harley was banned from a Las Vegas hotel after she (allegedly) got physical with Ronnie on a different occasion. And these altercations followed an ugly exchange between Ronnie and Harley on social media , as documented below. I’ve kept my mouth shut for to (sic) long.” That was on Friday. On Saturday, Harley and Ronnie were spotted out and about, chilling with friends on a boat. The MTV star himself posted clips aboard the boat of him and Harley, the latter of whom was donning a pink fluoro bikini, as you can see in the first picture in this article above. According to TMZ, meanwhile, the effed up twosome was in Florida, celebrating Harley’s birthday with a handful of loved ones. On Sunday, Jen shared a series of text messages between her and Ortiz-Magro on Instagram, saying along with them: “the truth about the Black eye lol.” “I’ll fix it baby,” a message allegedly from Ronnie reads, assing: “U want me to post something say that I reacted out of anger and that it was a double sided incendet (sic) and we are working at making things better so we are never back in that situation again.” “Lmfao. Nahhhh so it look like your so scared of me you had too,” Harley responded, adding that Ortiz-Magro made her “wanna puke right now.” We can’t figure these two out, that’s for certain. But we do know they have a six-month old daughter at home and better shape the hecl up for her sake. Harley and Ortiz-Magro, who started dating in July 2017, have documented their tumultuous relationship on social media and on Jersey Shore: Family Vacation.
