Say What? Lala Anthony Is Guilty Of This Beauty Faux Pas

Read the original here:

Source: Mike Coppola / Getty The lifestyle of a Hollywood star like Lala Anthony  is a busy one. From filming projects, stepping out for press appearances, working on her fashion line  and juggling the full-time job as a mom, it’s all quite the whirlwind. So, while the star is known for her amazing beauty and fashion moves, it’s not that surprising that she is guilty of one of the biggest makeup faux pas. As a matter of fact, we are all guilty of it, but knowing that Lala also forgets to take off her makeup at night lets us know that celebrities are just like us. In a recent interview with ESSENCE , the Power actress revealed that sometimes she’s so tired that removing the day’s makeup can become a low priority. “I was so tired last night,” Lala shares with ESSENCE . “I woke up and Ashley was in the room. She said ‘you didn’t take your makeup off from last night?’ But I was so tired, but I’m not advising that,” she said. “I got to get better at it.” She continued, “I have to do a better job at my skincare routine . My best friend, Kelly Rowland , is the master at all of that,” she said. “She’s constantly sending me products and every time we FaceTime, she has a mask on and then a whole beauty light or an LED light on her face. I haven’t gotten that far yet but I want to encourage all my people to make sure you do wash your face every night and take all the makeup off.” And she is absolutely right! Failing to take off your makeup at night can result in dirt and debris clogging your pores and forming blemishes. You always run the risk of your complexion appearing dull, getting an infection, developing a rash and even breaking down your skin barrier and prematurely aging your skin. Are you also guilty of not removing your makeup before bedtime? Let us know in the comment section down below! Amy Roloff and Chris Marek: ENGAGED!! It’s Finally Happening!

A Little People, Big World star has some rather huge news to share: SHE’S ENGAGED! Amy Roloff has confirmed to People Magazine that she and Chris Marek have finally agreed to marry, several months after the Internet started to wonder in earnest just when this special development might take place. “I’m excited, I’m so surprised, I’m thrilled!” Amy tells People , adding to the publication: “I never in a million years thought I’d be getting married again, but I also hoped for it! Now that it’s happening, I couldn’t be happier or more excited.” Marek popped the major question at dinner on Wednesday night, a day after Amy’s birthday. He rarely talks to the press, but such a special occasion calls for a special opportunity, prompting Marek to say the following to People of Roloff and their engagement: “I was very nervous! It had to be a heart shaped diamond because I knew that’s what Amy wanted.” Mere days ago, social media users took a close look at a photo of Amy and wondered whether she and Marek were engaged. These same social media users had posed the same question numerous times before, figuring a proposal simply had to be in the works. Amy was previously married to Matt Roloff, with whom she shares four children: twin brothers Jeremy and Zach, 29, daughter Molly, 26, and youngest son Jacob, 22. She filed for divorce in 2015 after 27 years of marriage and recently opened up in her memoir about Matt at least having had an emotional affair toward the end of their relationship. Still, the exes remain very close, co-starring on Little People, Big World every season and even living on the same farm property until just a few months ago. Amy has been with Marek for about three years. In a December of 2016 episode of her family’s TLC reality show, Amy told Molly about her single life and hitting it off with Marek. “I’m having a good time,” she said way back then. “You know, I had a couple of pool parties. I had, like, 40 people here. No, I probably had, like, 50 people here. “Then this guy Chris that I met, he came to the party, too. We got to talking and he invited me to go on a motorcycle ride. Oh, I’m having a ball!” Since this time, since they started to get serious, Amy has accompanied Chris on a number of motorcycle rides and trips; she has often documented these outings on Instagram. Despite her clearly strong feelings for Chris, Amy often pushed back on the idea of getting married for a second time. Why? Because she feared getting hurt again — and also because she formerly had some doubts about whether she and Marek could truly work. Speaking with her girlfriends about her relationship with Marek in 2017, Roloff confessed that she didn’t think she’d find love with someone of average height. “I just never thought someone who is average size would be interested in me,” she said in a TLC clip from from that tear. “I just really want him to never question or doubt the relationship because I’m a little person…” “I just have a good time. I have fun with him. I never thought I’d be dating as a grandma, and it’s nice to experience that and be with someone.” Marek and Roloff just attended Jacob Roloff’s wedding last weekend. View Slideshow: Jacob Roloff Wedding Day: See All the Beautiful Pics! Their engagement news is merely the latest reason for this family to be quite excited for the year ahead: There will now be a wedding at some point… Tori Roloff is due to give birth around Thanksgiving… and Audrey Roloff is due to give birth in January 2020. So exciting all around!

The Kardashians: Hated By Wyoming Neighbors ALREADY!

Last week, we learned that Kim Kardashian wants to move to Wyoming . Actually, it might be more accurate to say that Kanye West wants to move to Wyoming, and Kim has reached the stage where she figures it’s just easier to go along with his fantasies than to try and reason with him. In talking about the planned relocation, Kim revealed that it wouldn’t be just her and Kanye moving to the Cowboy State. No, they’ll be joined by her mother and sisters, as well: “We love Wyoming. It’s always been an amazing place. My husband did just buy a ranch there,” Kim told Jimmy Fallon in a recent interview. “His dream and his vision is to move there. I love L.A., so I envision summer, I envision some weekends, but yeah, we love it. It’s the prettiest place you’ve ever seen in your entire life.” She added: “It’s like, the prettiest place you’ve seen in your entire life. Even my sisters, everyone, we’ve had this dream of getting a ranch and just spending our summers there and getting away,”  You might have noticed that Kim is placing a lot of emphasis on her intention to spend summers in Wyoming, which makes a lot of sense. As much as she might enjoy furs and boots that cost more than your car, a week in Aspen is one thing — an entire 7-month winter in the middle of nowhere is quite another. Insiders say the couple might soon find themselves at odds over this point, as Kanye would prefer to relocate to his ranch full-time. Caught in the middle of the dispute are the residents of the town of Cody, who seem to believe that any amount of time the Kard clan spends in their fair state will be entirely too much. The Kardashians make fairly frequent trips to Wyoming already, and it seems the simple folk who call Cody home are already fed up with their Hollywood ways. Naturally, where Kim and Kanye go, the paparazzi are sure to follow, which means that since the time of their first visit, they’ve been annoying their neighbors by trailing a pack of photographers with them everywhere they go. Local authorities say they’re powerless to do anything about the problem, as there’s “no law against chasing them or riding alongside them.” “Residents are set in their ways,” a Cody Public Information Officer tells Radar Online. “It’ll be a learning curve for them to get used to the way people are around here.” The town spokesperson goes on to confirm that residents are concerned about what effect the Kardashians might have on life in Cody. “It is a quiet place,” he says. “There are some who are upset about the move. Some are apprehensive.” The representative adds: “Because of their notoriety and headlines, people are scratching their heads.” “People don’t like when you move from out of state and try to change the way the people are around here. The residents are down to earth and private.” But while the information officer admits that there’s some reticence about Kimye coming to town, he also claims the reports about upset “neighbors” are overblown — as the Kardashians have no neighbors to speak of. “Most people feel like me,” he says. “They’re far enough out of town and they have no neighbors. I hope they enjoy their ranch.” So Kanye might be spending most of his year on a desolate ranch in the middle of nowhere? Sounds like Wyoming’s loss is the rest of society’s gain! Mike Johnson and Rachel Lindsay: They Should Have Cast a Black Bachelor!!

Now, the Bachelor Nation knows for sure who was selected as Bachelor and has even met the new season’s contestants . But Mike Johnson was an incredibly popular contender: handsome, charming, and fresh on the minds of fans. He will not be the franchise’s first black Bachelor — and he and former Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay have something to say about that. Rachel Lindsay was the first black Bachelorette in the entire franchise. As long overdue as her role as the leading lady was, The Bachelor series has gone on for nearly two decades without a black leading man. When Rachel was asked about this inexcusably overdue milestone, she was very diplomatic — but spoke her mind. “I think Peter seems like a very nice guy. He seems lovely,” she tactfully begins. “This is absolutely nothing against him,” she emphasizes. “But how many Peters have we seen before?” She answers her own question: “What season are we on? 24. So, we’ve seen 24 Peters.” “I’m bored,” Rachel expresses. “And it’s nothing personal against him.” “I want to be hopeful, but when you have a contestant like Mike Johnson, who seems to check all the boxes, how is he not the  Bachelor ?” she asks. “I don’t understand,” Rachel laments. “I’m sure they have some reason for not picking him, and I’m going to trust in that.” “But at the same time,” she notes. “The system isn’t working in giving us a Bachelor who is a person of color.” “So we need to change the system,” Rachel suggests. “Something has to be done. Break the rules, step outside the box, give the people what they want.” When Mike Johnson sat down with Entertainment Tonight , they obviously asked him about Rachel’s views. “Congratulations to Peter first and foremost. Then in regards to what Rachel was saying, I do agree with Rachel,” Mike begins. He agrees that “that after 24 Bachelors, a black Bachelor should have been cast.” “But at the same time, ABC has been successful,” Mike acknowledges. “They know what they’re doing for their audience.” “They know what they’re looking for,” he points out. “I wasn’t the guy they were looking for at the moment.” “I did [say I thought it was going to be him],” Mike says of new leading man Peter Weber. “But that wasn’t because ABC told me.” “I just felt that way, and I will always be honest with the way I feel,” he explains. “And I felt that for what they were looking for,” Mike continues. “That Peter would be a really good fit.” “Why do I think it wasn’t me? I have no idea,” he admits. “I can only speak on my personality and the wonderful man that I am,” Mike adds. “I do know that Peter and I are two completely different people — both good people, kind-hearted people,” Mike observes. “But I do feel that I’m a bit more outspoken than Peter,” he assesses. “I’m a bit louder than Peter is. I have tattoos, and the obvious, I’m black.” “So we are very diverse and different in that regard as well,” he points out, gently acknowledging that race may be a deciding factor. “And we like different women.” Mike says. “I want to make sure the focus is centered around love because that’s what this show is about.” “So,” he continues. “Peter and I also are attracted to two different types of women as well.” When it comes to diverse casting, Mike has a lot to say: “Two parts on that — I think of diversity more than just black and white.” “And yes, Peter has a Cuban mom, but let’s just be honest — he’s white, right?” he says. That could be a controversial statement, but it’s important ot remember that Cuban-Americans exist across a racial and ethnic spectrum. “And that’s just being completely transparent,” Mike emphasizes. “I think that there should be an Asian lead, an Indian lead… diversity is not just black and white,” he says. “It’s not just salt and pepper.” “I feel that Rachel is extremely intelligent,” Mike correctly states. “She’s saying that from a statistical standpoint…” “if Peter likes one thing — not saying what he does like and he doesn’t like,” he says carefully. “But if he likes Caucasian women for example, then there may be a higher percentage of it being a Caucasian Bachelorette,” Mike reasons. “But I do know for a fact that ABC chooses based on personality,” he adds. “Who’s to say that one of the women of color may not be the Bachelorette next?” “But on Peter’s season,” Mike suggests. “He may have a higher likelihood of picking a woman who is Caucasian.” Honestly? I had never thought about how there’s a cyclical effect — more white Bachelors mean more white contestants. And since those contestants form (most of) the pool for the next Bachelorette, the cycle continues on and on. ABC’s hands aren’t tied by that, of course, but it does make it easier to appease racist fans by keeping most of the cast as white as snow on a golf course. (And yes, there are a lot of racist fans — Rachel saw lower ratings for her season, and it was not a coincidence) “Demi Lovato and I went on a date,” Mike confirmed, on a lighter note. “The woman is quite astounding and amazing, and that’s all I’ll say on that. ” View Slideshow: The Bachelor Season 24: Meet the Women! ‘LHHHS6′ Recap: April Watts’ Breast Implant Journey Has Some Hiccups

Originally posted here:

Source: VH1 / VH1 Many of the people on the Love and Hip-Hop franchise have been open about the plastic surgery they’ve gotten done, but we don’t always get to actually see how they’re affected by the procedures. Usually, we hear post-surgery tales when they’re all nice and healed but Apple Watts took us on her breast implant journey on tonight’s episode of Love and Hip-Hop Hollywood , and it wasn’t pretty. Plastic surgery is big business because it’s popular. However, it’s so popular that people tend to forget that surgery of any kind is a big deal, particularly involuntary procedures done for vanity.  I’m not knocking anyone who gets plastic surgery, but it’s important to research where you’re getting your procedure done. Apple Watts went to a clinic located in a strip mall in an effort to save money.  Luckily for her, the surgery went well, I think, but she woke up in a lot of pain. She mentioned that the pain was worse than childbirth. Um, girl, whet? I’ve had a baby. That pain ain’t no joke, so I can only imagine what it must feel like to recover post-surgery. Anyway, April got the biggest size that she could in relation to her bodily proportions, so she’s not out here trying to look like a circus freak.  According to WebMD , there are two types of breast implants: saline and silicone. Saline implants are filled with sterile saltwater. Silicone gel implants are filled with, you guessed it, silicone. While more women report that silicone gel implants feel more natural, but they pose a higher risk if they leak. Each has its pros and cons that you will go over with your surgeon.  It’s not a procedure that is covered by insurance so you would be coming out of pocket for anywhere from $5,000 to $10,000. There is a lot to consider when getting breast implants, including the aftermath. The preview for next week’s episode shows that April Watts is going to struggle with being addicted to the painkillers. We already know, that’s a huge problem in the United States. We’ll probably get to see April work through it, but you never can be sure when it comes to reality TV. You know how they like to hype things up in the trailer and then when you actually see the episode it’s not as bad as they initially made you think. Anyway, have you ever had breast implants? Are you considering breast implants?  RELATED POSTS ‘LHHHS6’ Recap: A1’s Mom Tried It When She Insinuated It’s Lyrica’s Fault That He Cheats ‘LHHHS6’ Recap: #BlackTwitter Reacts To Trish Talking Trash About Slick Woods

White Student In Viral Blackface Photo Attacks People For ‘Blasting’ The Photo

E arlier in the week, white students at Colorado State University went viral for a disgusting photo in black face with the caption “Wakanda Forever.” Now, one of the people in the photo is blaming people for sharing the photo because it was just a “moment of silliness.” See Also: Michael Moore Begs Michelle Obama To Run For President: ‘She’s The One Person Who Could Crush Trump’ Freshman Leana Kaplan is the woman in the photo below: Source: Tay Anderson/Facebook / Tay Anderson/Facebook In one of the worst apologies ever, she wrote , “I am not going to allow a photo, the news media nor CSU to do the talking for me. Just as those who have been hurt have a voice, so do I, and I too am entitled to be heard no less than those who have been offended.  No, this is not about me, but if there are lessens to be learned, the story behind the photo and the blond girl wearing black face surround by yet-to-be identified boys needs to be told.” She then said they were using facial mud and had the less than smart idea to take the photo and none of these college students thought it was even remotely offensive. Instead of taking accountability, she continued to over-explain, which is the first sign of not taking accountability, “However, this 2-minute activity, posted to a small group, was screen shot and shared by another person, then went viral. Does this deserve the daily death threats, harassment, along with the constant fear – and yes, prejudice– that is now my world at CSU?” Disturbingly and with her white privilege on overdrive, she blamed people viewing her as a racist on the people who shared her photo, “There are those who are exploiting this photo as an example of a racism on campus and the failure of CSU to eradicate this virus. These people include Tay Anderson, running for the Denver School Board, and who has been blasting this photo wherever he can to grandstand his out-of-town platform against racial prejudice. I believe this campaign may be responsible for threatening my employer, a national retailer, to terminate me, which has been done, now depriving me of income and placing a stigma on future employment and advanced education.” Tay Anderson is an activist who is running for Denver School Board At-Large. The photo was sent to him by Black students at CSU. He reacted to her horrific statement on Twitter with, “How are you going to blame me for your actions? This was the ‘I know it was racist, but the black guy in Denver shouldn’t have shared it’ apology.” https://twitter.com/TayAnderson2019/status/1172961809768206336?s=20 For all of the backlash she has received, CSU has decided not to punish any the students. President Joyce McConnell is arguing the students did not violate any school policies and the photo is protected by the First Amendment. How sad that Black CSU students have to pay to attend school with a group of kids you posted outwardly racist image of themselves on social media and they are not even punished.   SEE ALSO: Fraternity Removes Malik Yoba From Youth Leadership Role Over ‘Inappropriate Relationship’: Report Jemele Hill Claps Back After Backlash Over Her Article About HBCUs And Black Athletes [ione_media_gallery src=”https://newsone.com” id=”3827246″ overlay=”true”]

Is Demi Lovato Sweetly Swirling With This Black “Bachelorette” Contestant?

Source: John Fleenor/Walt Disney Television via Getty Images) / Getty Demi Lovato May Have Met Her Match With “The Bachelorette” Contestant Mike Johnson Demi Lovato has had her share of ups and downs but things are looking good right now for the singer who may have met her match thanks to Season 15 of “The Bachelorette” A source tells PEOPLE that the singer, 27, and former Bachelorette contestant Mike Johnson are “having fun and getting to know each other.” The source adds, “They’ve been talking privately for a bit and hanging out.” Lovato posted about Johnson, 31, on her social media during his time on Hannah Brown‘s season of The Bachelorette but the pair got the public talking earlier this month when Johnson commented Lovato’s unedited bikini pic. View this post on Instagram This is my biggest fear. A photo of me in a bikini unedited. And guess what, it’s CELLULIT!!!! I’m just literally sooooo tired of being ashamed of my body, editing it (yes the other bikini pics were edited – and I hate that I did that but it’s the truth) so that others think I’m THEIR idea of what beautiful is, but it’s just not me. This is what I got. I want this new chapter in my life to be about being authentic to who I am rather than trying to meet someone else’s standards. So here’s me, unashamed, unafraid and proud to own a body that has fought through so much and will continue to amaze me when I hopefully give birth one day. It’s such a great feeling to be back in tv/film while not stressing myself with a strenuous workout schedule before 14 hour days, or depriving myself from a real birthday cake rather than opting for watermelon & whip cream with candles because I was terrified of REAL cake and was miserable on some crazy diet shit. Anyway, here’s me, RAW, REAL! And I love me. And you should love you too! Now back to the studio.. I’m working on an anthem.. also. Just so everyone’s clear.. I’m not stoked on my appearance BUT I am appreciative of it and sometimes that’s the best I can do. I hope to inspire someone to appreciate their body today too. #nationalcelulliteday #celluLIT A post shared by Demi Lovato (@ddlovato) on Sep 5, 2019 at 5:30pm PDT Apparently Lovato wasn’t the only one appreciating her bikini bawwwwdy, flaws and all, because Johnson commented, “Look at me like that again … Love yaself.” Lovato responded with the kiss and tongue out emojis… @ themikejohnson3 SIR……demi lovato said hey https://t.co/gN2GLdCe6T — ㅤt (@devonnescherry) July 02, 2019 The San Antonio, Texas-based portfolio manager won over Lovato during his time on TV prompting the pop star to post about her favorite contestant on The Bachelorette on her Instagram story at one point saying, “Mike I accept your rose.” Jus saying, my future wife though girl you ready for smiles, adventure, comfort, growth, honesty, laughter, me falling using my inhaler and kissing your stretch marks and imperfections. ‘Hustlers’ Star KeKe Palmer Finally Embraces Vampy Lipstick, Eyes Marvel Universe

Go here to read the rest:

Source: GEOFF ROBINS / Getty Keke Palmer is living her best life! When the 26-year-old triple threat isn’t busy sharing co-hosting duties on Strahan, Sara and Michael , she’s working on other projects in TV, film and social media. Her most recent foray onto the big screen is Hustlers , female-helmed stripper revenge drama that also stars Jennifer Lopez, Cardi B, Constance Wu, and Lizzo. Palmer plays Mercedes, a crafty comedic vixen who is down with the #GirlGang of strippers hustling unwitting clients out of money.  Hustlers is in theaters today, and we got to briefly chat Palmer about preparing for the film, her NYFW debut, comedic aspirations, and how the Marvel Universe would be a good look for her! Hello Beautiful: Tell me about Mercedes and what attracted you to the role? Keke Palmer: What attracted me was that when I read some of her lines, I felt like she was a bit of a comic relief, and I really love and have been excited in the past few years with just my skits on my [social media], and just really going into comedy and embracing that aspect of myself. So, I was excited about the opportunity to showcase some of that, but then also just the entire group of women that I would be working with. The director was great. This is a movie that’s very gag-worthy where it’s like, strippers and Jennifer Lopez! Yes! But then to meet her and to know that it’s a movie that had depth, that the production also put women in a very powerful position and that it was going to be very cinematic; I was like, okay, I really want to be a part of this!  HB: Your character didn’t have any pole routines, but I heard you went and took some classes at Foxy Fitness in Manhattan. Is that true?  KP: Yes. HB: Did you train with Ashley Fox?  KP: I did go there but I feel bad that I don’t remember the girl’s name, but I did go there. I know that Foxy Fitness is where we went and did a training class. I just wanted to try it because so often people at say that it’s such a good workout and there’s also so much fun. So I was just like in my life. I’ve been trying to make time to go to one and when I did the movie I said, they’ve got somebody that’s doing classes. I might as well just go and so me and Lili [Reinhart] went and we had a blast, but it was not easy. HB: Did you learn anything about the pole community that you didn’t know before?  KP: I think I really understood that pole dancing is a true art. Even if you are a stripper in the club, it doesn’t mean you know how to pole dance. That’s something that some girls never learn or never play with. So for me, I was just like, if you’re a pole answer you are dope!  HB: Okay, so you had a big moment at NYFW. You walked your first runway with cornrows and red lipstick. So what did that mean to you? What does that mean for the brown girls out there who might still be afraid to wear red lipstick or think that brains can’t be chic?  KP: We got to step into ourselves and own ourselves, which I think many of us do! This is the thing, people might have comments about your hair being this way or being that way, but I think the real point is that it’s about what you think. So if you’re not into something then cool, that’s your prerogative, but we can’t do it based off of what other people think about us. And I think the most beautiful thing about you is what is uniquely you. I did the big chop a couple of years ago and embracing my natural curls and finding ways to compliment them has been such an amazing and empowering journey for me because don’t nobody have this hair! This is my journey. Just don’t get to a place where you feel like what you have already isn’t good and like you have to fix it. HB: So speaking of hair, I heard you know how to do hair like with sewins and what not!  KP: Yup, I do!  HB: Do you know how to braid too?  KP: Yep. HB: With extensions?  KP: I do know how to braid with extensions, but I need to get better at tucking.  HB: So let’s say you’re going on vacation soon and don’t feel like dealing with your hair. What would be your go-to braided style? KP: I would just do two braids.  HB: With hair added or just natural?  KP: I would do it with my natural hair, especially if I’m on vacation. Who the hell I’m tryna impress [laughs]? I’m on vacation love, two braids! And then if I had somebody do it, I might do individuals. Braids are always a perfect go-to.  HB: Absolutely and they last forever. Well not forever— KP: But they do, somewhat!  HB: Going back to red lipstick, what’s your favorite red right now? KP: I used to feel like yuck about dark colors, but not because of my complexion, because sometimes I felt like it aged me. I always try to keep a very youthful type of look, but I’ve learned different ways to rock red lips that have made me feel like, okay, this is a moment. This is how I pull the look together. I think really figuring out, you know, maybe I don’t go heavy on the eyeshadow, maybe I do something lighter, or maybe just an eyeliner is what I need and sometimes  I’m not going to go too heavy on the contour but I’ll go heavier on the lip. It’s about finding different ways to enhance it. I think because a red lip, I don’t care what comes out you are. It’s always strong color in matching it and figure out what it looks good with. HB: Back on a more serious note, how do you feel about black female visibility in the media right now?  I feel like It’s always changing. It’s always Ebbs and flows. I feel like sometimes it’s what you seek out. It depends on what you’re looking for; if you’re looking for something that’s commercial. We don’t always see that Black Panther moment [but] I want to be the kind of person that says I’m happy we’re getting a Harriet Tubman film. I’m happy that Viola Davis has her own hit show. I’m happy that Will Smith broke the record on Netflix. There are great people out there that are representing and getting major platforms to do it, but of course, at the end of the day, the more people that we can have of color, of more diversity, the better. We can have men and women, young and old, Black and White. That way, more our stuff is going to look realistic to the world. If we only have certain people that are putting the movies together and putting the music together, putting the Fashion shows together, they’re not going to relate to as much to the other groups that are being ignored. I want more representation to be behind the scenes because if they’re behind the scenes then we’re going to see it in front.  HB: It’s funny you mentioned a Black Panther moment because I high Key want you to be part of the Marvel Universe. I want you to play Madam Slay or something!   KP: O h my God! I would love to be a part of Marvel! And you know I’m with Disney now, girl!  That would be a dream. I would love to do an action movie.  HB: What are some other types of roles are you looking forward to?    KP: I’m definitely in the bag of comedies and action. I’m loving to do that kind of thing or a coming of age story, like to put you in the mind of an everyday movie. So often, especially as black people, we either do something very dramatic or it’s just funny, but it’s never like Bridget Jones’s Diary or the kind of movies that Jennifer Aniston. We don’t often get those kinds of things from the perspective of, I’m just a Black woman living life and that’s why I’m excited for Issa Rae’s new movie, The Photograph because I think it’s going to be just a day in the life. You know, I want to see Black women, just everyday Black women. I also really love Taraji’s What Women Want. I love those kinds of movies where it’s just like this just a story, that’s just how life is, it’s just a vibe. That’s something I’m very interested in giving especially to the millennial, young adult a generation.   HB: You mentioned the sketches you do online earlier, and I’ve seen some on Instagram. It’s so unique because you only have a certain amount of time to convey your message so talk about why you’ve opened yourself to that lane as an actress?    KP: [Social Media] is a very powerful tool because in this industry, especially knowing how it is with traditional talent, it’s kind of hard because there’s only so much you can do when it comes to people seeing you for a role. And, wanting to produce things takes a lot of time. When I produced Pimp, that took us almost six years. So social media is something that you can do quick and fast and you can create an avenue for yourself that maybe the industry doesn’t see for you and you can actually accumulate data and proof that it works and you can learn your audience and then it becomes easier when you go to knock down the door. A s a creative rebel was just saying that this is what I want to do. I had no platform to really do it other than this one so I’m going to do it. And at first, people didn’t know what was going on when I did, “The gag is!” or when I did, “Southern Belles.” It was something that they didn’t expect but it’s  just me expressing myself, following my audience and just really trying to entertain and also have fun doing it.  RELATED POSTS GET THE LOOK: Keke Palmer’s Black and Neon Style Won’t Set You Back One Month’s Rent Money!
