‘Call Me A Racist’: Kid Rock Rant Targets Black Lives Matter, Kaepernick

Read more here:

Kid Rock encouraged his fans to “call me a racist” in part because he disagrees with Colin Kaepernick ‘s protest of the American flag and doesn’t like being reminded that “ black lives matter ,” he told the crowd at his concert in Michigan on Wednesday night. “And if you wanna take a knee or sit during our ‘Star-Spangled Banner,’ call me a racist ’cause I’m not [politically correct], and think you have to remind me that black lives matter,” the Donald Trump -supporter and potential Republican Senate candidate said in Grand Rapids, according to People . “Nazis, f–kin’ bigots, and now again the KKK — I say screw all you a–holes. Stay the f–k away!” The Grammy Award nominee appeared defiant despite a civil rights group demanding the cancellation of his upcoming concerts because of how he has championed the Confederate Flag, the Associated Press reported . Kid Rock is scheduled to perform a series of shows at the new Little Caesars Arena in Detroit to help celebrate the $860 million venue’s opening. “This is the straw that broke the camel’s back,” the  National Action Network ‘s (NAN) Michigan Chapter President Rev. Charles Williams II told the AP. “When you hire Kid Rock, who is known to be dog-whistling and cat-calling to white supremacist organizations and the white supremacist community, alt-right, whatever you want to call them, and you take our tax dollars to do that? That’s wrong.” The NAN has planned an official protest next week to coincide with Kid Rock’s concerts, which begin Tuesday. Its doubtful the pressure will sway the opinion of Kid Rock, who has been the target of like-minded protests before. His response? “Please tell the people who are protesting to kiss my ass,” the singer said in a statement to then-Fox News anchor Megan Kelly during the summer of 2015. In a head-scratching move, Kid Rock was honored by the local chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) in 2011 despite his open embracing of the Confederate Flag. Ami Brown: Hospitalized Again During Battle with Cancer

We miss the days when Alaskan Bush People news had to do with finding materials or battling the elements, instead of Ami Brown’s battle with stage four lung cancer . Despite everything, the Brown family has been forging on and making a new life in Colorado, this time a short distance from a hospital in case things with Ami at home should take a turn for the worse. Having medical care nearby was a good call, because the latest update on the Brown family says that Ami is back in the hospital. The Brown family, the stars of Alaskan Bush People — even though they’re now in Colorado — had been grappling with Ami Brown’s tragic cancer diagnosis. They’ve been dealing with it on camera this season, but the fight for her health and for her life continues off camera, too. Though Alaskan Bush People fans implored the Brown children to not close Browntown , the family had clearly had enough of roughing it in Alaska. Honestly, everyone had expected that, between Ami’s cancer diagnosis and how long the series had been running, that the Brown family would just move on and use their reality TV money to live normal lives. You know, back in civilization. (Of course, some Alaskan Bush People fans claim that the show is fake because the Brown family has supplies that aren’t foraged, but … no matter what your stance on that might be, the Brown kids weren’t living normal lives) But the show has still been running strong, and a while back it was reported that they were going ahead with yet another season. We just hope that Ami Brown can hold on and get more time with her family. But, as you know, she’s returned to the hospital. The Facebook page known as Alaskan Bush People : Exposed has kept the world abreast of knowledge of the Brown family that doesn’t quite make it on camera. They posed this oddly cheerful update: “Just a quick update Ami is in the hospital and still being treated with chemotherapy. We will update as soon as any more details become available. Have a great weekend!” This doesn’t sound like it was an emergency treatment, so it’s better than Ami having been rushed to the emergency room. (Which sometimes happens with cancer patients) Alaskan Bush People : Exposed haven’t provided any other updates or clarification, but we hope that this is just another scheduled round of chemo to help give Ami more time with her husband and her children. In the mean time, Ami Brown’s young daughter, Rain, has gotten blasted on social media for posting selfies on Instagram while her mother has cancer. This kind of criticism is absurd, but sadly not uncommon — people who’ve never had a loved one get a cancer diagnosis often don’t realize that life goes on, no matter the circumstances. Rain Brown posting flower crown selfies to Instagram and enjoying her life is exactly what Ami Brown wants for her daughter to experience. We’ve seen this with other celebrity kids whose parents are sick. We’ve even seen this kind of thing with the Brown family. Some fans have slammed Noah Brown for “abandoning” his family when really he’s just living his life and going places with his fiancee, as if visiting a zoo and loving his mother are mutually exclusive. Fans who expect every Brown family social media post to be some sort of weeping, black-and-white tribute to Ami Brown don’t understand family, or grief, or life. We’re all rooting for the Brown family matriarch to pull through. Fans just wished Ami Brown happy birthday last week, and they aren’t prepared to see her go. Neither, we’re sure, is Ami’s large if unconventional family. We don’t know what will become of the family or the series if Ami loses her battle, and it’s hard to imagine the entire Brown family going on as before without Ami. For now, though, she’s getting these chemo treatments to fight tooth-and-nail for her life. That’s all that anyone can do. View Slideshow: Alaskan Bush People: 13 Secrets They Don’t Want You to Know

Hurricane Harvey Relief: Which Celebrities Donated?

Hurricane Harvey was a Category 4 storm when it first made landfall in Texas. We have all seen the photos of the flooding. We've seen highways that have flooded so high that the water above them has waves. We've seen people standing on rooftops, people riding boats between houses, and heard the horrifying stories of people who were swept away by the water. Celebrities have heard this, too, and they have been using their considerable platforms and their own personal resources to help with the relief effort. As climate change continues to destabilize what were once more temperate weather patterns, these “500 year storms” will be coming more and more frequently. Many believe that we need a better coordinate governmental response when these disasters strike. It's good to hear stories of private citizens acting as heroes, but it's better if they never have to. In the mean time, however, boat owners have been taking time off of work and traveling with their boats towards Texas where they hope to help distribute supplies and reach people who are still stranded. Celebrities are donating money to the relief effort, but some stars are doing even more. 1. JJ Watt JJ Watt’s relief fundraiser had an initial goal in the six digits. It has currently raised over $10 million and the amount continues to clim as donations pour in. 2. Jennifer Lopez and Alexander Rodriguez J Lo and A-Rod have each donated $25,000. They have also used their celebrity status to encourage their followers to donate to the Red Cross. 3. DJ Khaled In addition to sending his prayers to the people of Houston, DJ Khaled has also donated $25,000 to aid those ravaged by Harvey. 4. Nicki Minaj Nicki Minaj announced that she was donating $25,000 when she shared Kevin Hart’s message. 5. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson Dwayne Johnson donated $50,000 and shared Kevin Hart’s plea. 6. Kevin Hart Kevin Hart is said to be the first major celebrity to donate, putting up $50,000. He’s also encouraged other celebrities to do the same. View Slideshow

Race Matters: Actor Ed Skrein Bows Out Of ‘Hellboy’ Flick Amid Accusations Of Whitewashing

Image via Frank Trapper/Corbis via Getty Images Ed Skrein Quits “Hellboy” Over Whitewashing Backlash Very often in this country racism is talked about as a Black vs. white issue, but there are obviously many races of people who are marginalized in American culture. The Asian community is frequently bombarded with racist imagery in comedy, television and film. Today, they got a small victory in an otherwise apathetic war. According to NYDailyNews , actor Ed Skrein was set to star in the upcoming superhero flick “Hellboy” as Major Ben Daimio. For those unfamiliar with the comics, Daimio is Asian, Skrein is as white as the driven snow. Just as we do when Black folks are portrayed as white, the community spoke out against this whitewashing of culture, and like a empathetic and decent human, Ed quit his impending job: pic.twitter.com/8WoSsHXDFO — Ed Skrein (@edskrein) August 28, 2017 Way to go, Ed. Hopefully this will lead to other white actors and actresses stop the f**ksh!t and respect the voices of the people who’s culture they are trying to erase.

Jennifer Lopez’s Fake Ass Was the Only Thing Real at the Mayweather Fight of the DAy

I watched a livefeed on Instagram put out by some vine star for his fans, not that I am on of his fans, I just don’t believe in cable, or contributing to staged, commercial, candy coated, promoter produced and fought fights, it’s corrupt nonsense and no matter how much the people believe or want to believe…or how many people tune into something and contribute to the hype like a bunch of fucking lemming drone pieces of shit…it’s still fake fucking news garbage…and we’re just being scammed.. That’s why old lady J.Lo’s ass at the event is the only thing that was real, even if it isn’t a real ass at all and she’s had work done on it to try to continue to stay relevant earning that stupid money…knowing that her ass is key in the equation…no matter how old she is…so at 100 fucking years old…she’ll still have that fat round ass or some shit…. Taylor Swift Under Fire: Why Is "Look What You Made Me Do" So Widely Hated?

In the three years since her last studio album   was released to record-breaking sales and rapturous reviews, Taylor Swift has endured two high profile breakups and a string of increasingly ugly celebrity feuds. For the past several months, she’s kept a low profile, spacing out her social media posts and refusing to acknowledge the petty shade thrown by her detractors. When we first learned that Taylor had new music on the way – and that she planned to address her haters in song form – the anticipation from fans couldn’t have been much higher. Unfortunately, while the single released last night delivered on the expected drama, it also met with mostly negative reactions from both actual music critics and the self-appointed variety who love to sound off on Twitter. Taylor has become an easy target over the past year, and we all know how much the angry social media hordes love to dogpile celebs struggling with public image crises, but in this case, the attackers have a point. Not only is “Look What You Made Me Do” lazy and uninspired (We wish we were joking when we say portions of the melody were lifted from Right Said Fred’s “I’m Too Sexy” .), it sends a troubling message about the importance of staying angry and settling old scores at any cost. With lyrics like “I got mine, but you’ll all get yours” sounding like they were ripped from the manifesto of a disgruntled postal worker with an NRA membership, the song is an impassioned ode to the power of poisonous grudges. “I got a list of names and yours is in red, underlined,” Taylor sing-threatens at one point, giving us a taste of what Arya Stark would sound like if she developed a taste for awkward rhyme schemes. Sadly, the whole single is like this, and Taylor seems painfully unaware that her edgy new image feels as forced and unnatural as that British accent Madonna rocked for a while. Naturally, the lines that have garnered the most attention are the ones that seem to be directed at specific rivals. Taylor has beefed with Katy Perry , Kanye West, Kim Kardashian, Diplo, Calvin Harris, and many others in the years since 1989 marked what might be looked back on as the high point of her career. Her forthcoming album will likely address all of those feuds, indirectly or otherwise, but fans who have painstakingly unpacked the lyrics believe that “Look What You Made Me Do” is aimed primarily at Kanye. At one point, Taylor sings, “I don’t like your tilted stage,” which could be a play on un-level playing field imagery … or a very specific reference to the lopsided floating platform West performed on during his most recent tour. Many have pointed out that Taylor’s album hits stores on the tenth anniversary of the death of Kanye’s mother. In all likelihood, that’s nothing more an unfortunate coincidence. Fortunately for Taylor, it’s not like Kanye’s the type of egomaniac who thinks everything is about him. J/k, he’s probably in the studio penning a diss verse over the beat of Tupac’s “Hit ‘Em Up” at this very moment. But the biggest problems with “Look What You Made Me Do” have less to do with the mental gymnastics Taylor performs in order to position herself as the eternal victim, and more to do with the structural problems of the song itself. It’s a slapdash effort that Swift would’ve been wise to pawn off on a lesser-known artist, as it’s simply a poor fit for her. The song’s most embarrassing moments are saved for its final seconds, when, after crooning, “I don’t trust nobody and nobody trusts me” several times, Taylor ratchets up the goth-y angst with a cringe-worthy spoken word snippet: “I’m sorry, but the old Taylor can’t come to the phone right now,” the singer breathlessly murmurs. “Why? Oh, because she’s dead.” Hopefully the new Taylor has access to a Ouija board, because she desperately needs to recruit her old self as a writing partner. Sarah Stage: I Don’t Photoshop These Abs!

People love to body-shame Sarah Stage, who doesn’t let pregnancy come between her and her six-pack of rock-hard abs. Even when Sarah Stage reveals her pregnancy weight , people want to jump on her case and say that she can’t possibly be healthy. But now people are attacking her from a different angle — claiming that the fit mom just edits her photos to look that way! Sarah Stage made headlines in 2015 for her minor baby bump and clearly defined six-pack abs. She delivered a healthy baby boy. This year, she’s been making headlines again for, yet again, flaunting her killer abs throughout her pregnancy. She’s due in October, which is getting closer and closer. (We’re almost in September, you guys) As you can see, she looks amazing for a woman 31 weeks into her pregnancy. She. Looks. Incredible . She’s only gained 18 pounds from her pregnancy, but we don’t have any reason to believe that this is an unhealthy weight. Some people balloon up during pregnancy, and others just look like they’re smuggling a balloon under their shirts. It mostly has to do with genetic predispositions, of the mother but also of the baby daddy (a lot of pregnancy’s less pleasant experiences are the result of the fetus hijacking the body) Though, in Sarah Stage’s case, her insane workouts (even while pregnant) are obviously a major factor. Recently, some fans spotted Sarah Stage out and about, wearing a pair of mom jeans and a billowy, comfy shirt with what looked like a more “normal” baby bump. Not the sort of baby bump that you’d expect to see at 31 weeks, but more than you see in the white bikini photo that we showed you above, which was shared the same day that Sarah was spotted. People started to whisper that maybe she uses photo editing software, because a lot of people are shockingly unable to grasp that makeup and posing have a massive impact on how somebody looks. Sarah’s representative responded to the accusations by shutting them down: “Sarah would never Photoshop any photo.” Some fitness models might resort to photoshop, but that could ruin their reputation — so why risk it? “She shares her images with her audience to embrace all different body types and her pregnancy. She’s been shamed through both pregnancies. She’s trying to put her journey out there to encourage others.” She’s working to reduce body-shaming. We shouldn’t shame women for being large or small, when pregnant or not pregnant. Specifically, on Sarah being spotted wearing normal clothes, like a human, her rep dismissed it pretty handily: “This goes to show that Sarah is just a regular mom, on the go, wearing comfy clothing as she runs errands.” Consider this: who out there has ever taken a bikini photo without sucking in their gut, or angling to look the best that they could? Some people, probably. But not, as a rule, fitness models. Their abs are their moneymakers. We have a feeling that Sarah Stage doesn’t do her bonkers workouts just to fake it for the camera.

Bethenny Frankel: I Need ZERO Contact with Jason Hoppy!

We may have seen Bethenny Frankel break down in tears in the latest Real Housewives of New York City , but she knows that there’s a way that she can move forward. We’ve all heard about how Jason Hoppy has put Bethenny Frankel in hell through all of his alleged stalking and harassment and their nightmarish divorce battle.  Bethenny says that she knows how this has to end. So, Bethenny Frankel’s divorce from Jason Hoppy was long, painful, and nightmarishly expensive. They may be exes now, but they’ll always be linked through their young daughter, Bryn. Jason Hoppy’s arrest back in January was actually over threats that he’s accused of making to Bethenny Frankel at Bryn’s school. (Imagine threatening the mother of your child at your child’s school — that’s so unimaginably hateful) Jason Hoppy was arraigned on additional stalking charges over the summer, before that first arrest was even dealt with in court. The details weren’t immediately made apparent, but it appears that he may have been harassing a third party as part of his alleged campaign of harassment against Bethenny. Like … does he not have hobbies? Don’t get us wrong — Bethenny Frankel can come across as callous and dismissive of other people’s problems sometimes. (A lot, actually) But there’s a difference between having what some might call an “abrasive” personality and being an actual menace. Jason Hoppy is due back in court in September (his motion to have the charges against him was dismissed earlier this month), and maybe Bethenny will get some sort of resolution then. Bethenny Frankel lamented to Andy Cohen how her conflict with Jason Hoppy has impacted her relationship with other Real Housewives. But she knows what can resolve this and put it behind her. “Any resolution is legally mandated and I’m fine with that.” She’s putting a lot of faith in the court. “I don’t care what happens, I have faith that somehow I will be able to live a normal free life.” Basically, she’s not campaigning to have Jason Hoppy put in prison. But there’s just one thing that she needs. “But it has to be with zero contact. Because with any contact, this will not end.” She says that she can’t accurately describe what this has been like for her. She does temporarily lapse into some unfortunate hyperbole. “It is indescribable and it is inexplicable and it’s like, if someone wants to talk about like a war zone in Israel, how are you going to explain that to someone?” But she quickly clarifies that she’s not trying to equate her situation with a genuine humanitarian crisis. “I’m not comparing this to actual war but in my life, you can’t even imagine the torment that this has been. There’s no way to describe it.” We get it — trauma is difficult to articulate. When you try, you feel like you sound silly. It’s not silly, though. “I just stifled it in because if I let any of it out, I’m going to totally break down. I can’t believe this happened to me.” Keeping it suppressed doesn’t work, in the long term. While things are going on, bottling things up helps you survive. Over time, though, those coping mechanisms backfire. That’s why PTSD is so rough. And yes, you can absolutely get PTSD from stalking. Bethenny found the entire struggle to be inescapable. “It was part of my life. I thought I was never getting out of it. I couldn’t even understand it. How can I explain this to everybody?” We know that she’s doing charity work to help other women, but we wonder if she’s met with a victim advocate to try to just articulate her own situation. Bethenny isn’t really the “ask for help’ type, but it really might help her. “You’ve never — it is torture. So that’s why I didn’t explain it. There’s no way to describe this to anybody. Nobody would believe it.” Jason Hoppy might not be done tormenting her , though, because he didn’t immediately accept a plea deal that would have basically gotten him off scott free. We have to ask why he’s so obsessed with having contact with Bethenny that he would apparently rather continue his court battle than continue to be legally barred from having contact with her. Maybe he doesn’t want it on his record or claims that he’s innocent — though an officer was a witness to and confirmed Bethenny Frankel’s account of the January incident at Bryn’s school, so … good luck with that? More than anything else, we hope that this situation doesn’t hurt Bryn.
