Our thoughts and prayers are with those who lost loved ones in Manila after a man barged into the Resorts World casino in Manila and began dousing tables with gasoline before setting them ablaze — ultimately killing 35 people and injuring more than 70 others after he attempted to make off with over $2 million in casino chips. The man fled to a nearby hotel room where he committed suicide by setting himself on fire. ISIS attempted to take credit for the attack on social media, however, authorities in the Philippines say it’s unlikely that this was a terrorist incident. According to CBS News reports: “Initial findings of police investigation of the Resorts World incident this morning, 2nd of June 2017 Thursday (Friday) show that there are no indications of terrorist activity,” Secretary Ernesto Abella, Philippine presidential spokesperson, said. “All indications point to a criminal act by an apparently emotionally disturbed individual.” “Either he lost in the casino and wanted to recoup his losses or he went totally nuts,” said Metropolitan Manila police chief Oscar Albayalde. While an Islamic State of Syria and Iraq (ISIS)-linked Filipino said on social media that “lone wolf soldiers” of the Islamic State group were behind the attack, police noted the man didn’t shoot anyone he encountered. The only gunshot wound was a guard at the complex who accidentally shot himself, authorities said. “He would have shot all the people gambling,” if his goal was terrorism, national police chief Ronald dela Rosa said. None of the bodies had gunshots, authorities said. Police saw no connection to nearly two weeks of fighting with Muslim militants aligned with the Islamic State group in the southern city of Marawi. Security footage shows the gunman ignoring a guard who tried to stop him at the entrance of the resort, then he is pictured heading into the casino, according to dela Rosa. After stuffing a a backpack with stolen gambling chips, the gunman fired his assault rifle at TV screens and began pouring gasoline onto the gaming tables from a 2-liter bottle he carried before setting them on fire. The man responsible for the attack was describled by dela Rosa as about 6 feet tall, “white, with a mustache,” and English speaking. As guests and employees of the casino attempted to escape the flames, the gunman headed to a room on the 5th floor of Maxims Hotel at the resort, forcing his way in. Police say he then laid down on the bed, covered himself with a blanket before pouring gas on himself and setting himself on fire. He was not carrying any identification, according to police. Cops believe his motive was to make off with the bag of chips, which had an estimated value of over $2million. That bag was found in the toilet. The kerfuffle all began when Mr. Chainz posted pics from his recent appearance at an LA radio station, draped in designer labels (of course) and rocking a Goyard messenger bag. Certain commenters were quick to call out 2 Chainz for rocking a “purse” and questioned why the rapper would adopt the new “effeminate” style a lot of younger rappers are accused of perpetuating. BUT 2 Chainz posted a throwback pic and clued in the uninformed that 1. It’s a messenger bag, not a womens’ purse, and 2. Abby Lee Miller is making her way to prison in the next few weeks. The disgraced former Dance Moms star was sentenced to one year and one day in the slammer after pleading guilty to bankruptcy fraud last June. But when? According to Radar Online, “Abby will be checking into prison on June 30 .” “Although she has not yet received an official confirmation on where she will be serving her time, she has heard good things about Apple Valley or Victorville, which are both prisons located in California,” the rep said. Wait… so is Abby actually looking forward to swapping her dancing costumes for an orange jumpsuit? Reality TV stars do have a knack for coming out of prison and landing higher paid reality TV gigs. Maybe Teresa Giudice has been giving Abby some tips on how to raise her profile or something because she did get a hefty raise when she returned to The Real Housewives of New Jersey following her stint in the slammer. Abby’s legal woes came to the forefront when it emerged that she tried to hide more than $775,000 in earnings. If you watch Dance Moms online , you will already know that some of the other moms have taunted Abby over her bad decisions. It’s difficult to feel bad for Miller when you consider just how nasty she has been on the Lifetime reality series. At one point during the most recent season, Miller broke down in tears as she wondered what would become of her. Even Miller herself is still shocked about the fact she will be spending a stretch behind bars. “I almost fell over when my sentence was announced,” Miller said at the premiere for E!’s Vanderpump Rules wannabe, The Abbey. She also claimed that she was planning to return the money she owed, but there has been nothing else said about it since. It’s crazy to think just how prominent Abby was on reality TV and now she’s showing up to premieres for some of the worst reality shows out there. Abby quit Dance Moms in sensational fashion earlier this year, with a statement that essentially trashed everyone associated with the production of the Lifetime hit.
