French Mayor Threatens To “Stop” Black Feminists Festival For Excluding Non-Black People Organizers of an event called Nyansapo Festival in France intended for Black feminist s caught a lot of grief from Anne Hidalgo, the mayor of Paris this week. The mayor threatened to halt the festival for it’s lack of permission for ‘all’ to engage in certain parts of the event, according to France 24 . The event organizers say it is important to restrict access to certain sessions so that black women can engage in open, honest conversations about their unique struggles, without judgement from others, according to the report. The non-black mayor did not like that, at all. The Nyansapo festival has divided its events into four categories– those open exclusively to black women (which account for 80% of activities), those open to both black women and black men, those open to women of colour and those open to everyone. The majority of events are reserved for black female participants. An outcry of white tears commenced on twitter, where people openly condemned the event. Even a French ‘race’ organization called LICRA says Rosa Park would’ve had a fit if she saw the ‘discriminatory’ festival guidelines. Jared Martin, a veteran actor likely best known for his role as Steven “Dusty” Farlow on the beloved series Dallas , died on Wednesday night from pancreatic cancer. He was 75 years old. Martin’s son, Christian, has confirmed the sad news via Twitter and also to The Hollywood Reporter, telling the publication that his father passed away at home in Philadelphia. Farlow was a rodeo cowboy who seduced main character on the aforementioned drama, He actually perished in a plane crash… only to have producers resurrect his character by popular demand shortly afterward. As for the actor himself? Martin was born in Manhattan and attended Columbia University where he roomed future filmmaker Brian De Palma, who cast his pal in his 1968 film Murder à la Mod. “I played a mad photographer-murderer who liked to lick the blood off his victims’ bodies,” Martin told People Magazine way back in 1981, adding: “Brian used Hershey syrup for blood and paid me $35.” Martin’s impressive resume also included starring roles on two sci-fi TV shows: 1977’s The Fantastic Journey at NBC and a 1988-1990 adaptation of War of the Worlds, which aired in syndication. He signed on for just three episodes of Dallas Season 3 in 1979 as Dusty. But he became such a fan favorite that producers had no choice but to keep him around for longer than initially planned. “They brought Dusty Farlow on to make goo-goo eyes at Sue Ellen [Linda Gray], become moderately involved with her, tempt her and then she basically remembered who she was and went back to J.R. [Larry Hagman],” Martin said a few years ago in an interview for a Dallas fan site. The character was killed off in a plane crash to conclude Martin’s initial stint on the series. However… After J.R. Ewing was shot by an unseen assailant in what many consider to be the most buzzworthy season finale in TV history, viewer polls and Las Vegas oddsmakers made Dusty a favorite to be the answer to the question on literally everyone’s minds: “Who shot J.R.?” For this reason, the series brought Dusty back from the dead. “My agent said, ‘Get ready, they are going to bring you back,'” Martin said in the past, explaining: “I said, ‘How? I’m dead.’ My agent says, “Oh, this is Hollywood, they will think of something.'” HA! That remains the case today, really. Dusty would make an amazing recovery and even return to the rodeo circuit. With news continuing to leak out concerning the Manchester terrorist attack on Monday night at an Ariana Grande concert, we’ve come across the following unique piece of information: One of the 22 victims who died in a bomb set off by Salman Abedi had recently met members of the Once Upon a Time cast. Georgina Callander, 18, was identified earlier on Tuesday as an attendee at the aforementioned Grande concert. Around 10:30 p.m., just after Grande has finished her set and fans were making their way to the exists, Abedi blew himself and nearly two dozen others up via what authorities have described as a “nail bomb.” Callander was one of the fatalities. We learned afterward that she had met Grande two years ago, Tweeting a photo of herself and the singer (below) in anticipation of seeing Ariana perform in Manchester on Monday evening. Now, she’s dead. Callander, meanwhile, also spent time with a number of Once Upon a Time stars at a fan convention just a few weeks ago. Once these actors and actresses learned of this connection, they took to social media to express their show and sorrow. “RIP @emiliesatwell remember meeting her last month. Beautiful, sweet girl,” wrote Emilie de Ravin on Twitter, adding: “She gave me the most lovely letter…at a loss 4 words #Manchester.” The former Lost actress also wrote the following on Instagram: “RIP Georgina you beautiful soul…words can’t express my anger and sadness towards the people involved in planning and carrying out the attack last night in #Manchester.” Concluded de Ravin: “My love and courage goes out to Georgina’s family and friends and to all the families and friends of the victims last night. Praying for eternal peace for Georgina and all involved.” Rebecca Mader, who also appeared on Lost with de Ravin, Tweeted the following photo of herself and Callander and sent along her condolences as well: “I am heartbroken to wake up to learn Georgina was taken from us in Manchester. R.I.P Georgina. You were such a special girl. I’ll miss you.” And then there was Lana Parilla, who also met Callander. A photo of the veteran actress and the late teenager is below, while Parilla wrote on social media: “We lost a ONCE fan, @emiliesatwell , in the #manchesterexplosion last night. Devestating. RIP sweet Georgina.” ISIS has claimed responsibility for this heinous act of violence, as British authorities continue to delve deeply into what transpired and who, specifically, was behind it. Earlier today, an unnamed 23-year old has been arrested in conjunction with the horrible crime. Along with these Once Upon a Time stars, numerous celebrities in Hollywood and members of the Royal Family have spoken out on the bombing. Karen David, another series cast member who met Callander, penned this tribute on Instagead: “I’m deeply saddened to hear that this sweet, and beautiful lady, Georgina, who I had the pleasure of meeting and talking to for awhile, only a couple of weeks ago at #SBUK3 was one of the innocent victims in tonight’s atrocity in Manchester. “It’s not fair, it’s not right. It makes me so angry and it breaks my heart that such a young and promising life has been stolen away! But I refuse to give in to hatred. I continue to choose love. I continue to choose unity because when we join together, we are strong! We will not be afraid. Said the hospital in a statement this afternoon: “The medical team has verified the death of the patient Nicholas Patrick Hayden, who has been undergoing care since last Wednesday May 17 in the intensive care unit of the Bufalini Hospital in Cesena following a very serious polytrauma which occurred the same day.” On the entertainment front, Hayden was named one of People Magazine’s Hottest Bachelors in 2005. “Racing is what I grew up doing, it’s in my family’s blood. I’m pretty happy-go-lucky,” he told the publication at the time, adding; “I travel so much, I’ve met a lot of chicks in airports.” Hayden was cycling along the Rimini coast in Italy last Wednesday when he was hit by a Peugeot, whose windshield was smashed in the accident. Judicial authorities have opened an investigation into the crash and questioned the 30-year-old driver of the car that struck Hayden. According to The Guardian, the driver was given a Breathalyzer test and was not over the limit at the time. Hayden won the MotoGP title in 2006; his career started in 2003, with Hayden posting three victories and 28 top three finishes in 218 total races. We have an update on the terrorist attack that killed at least 19 people inside Manchester Arena on Monday night. As previously reported, an explosion rocked this venue shortly after Ariana Grande finished her set and thanked her fans for attending. Just as she made her way off stage, what authorities have described as a “nail bomb” was detonated, around 10:33 p.m. local time. No organization has claimed responsibility for the mass murder, while police are operating under the assumption that this was the act of a suicide bomber. He has not been identified, but it is the working assumption that the bomber is dead. The death count has also now risen to 22 individuals, with 59 other concert goers reported as wounded, 19 of them in critical condition. As a result, this is now the deadliest militant assault in Great Britain since four British Muslims killed 52 people in suicide bombings on London’s transport system in July 2005. British Prime Minister Theresa May called for an emergency Cabinet meeting Tuesday and said the explosion was being treated as an “appalling terrorist attack.” Police do believe there was just one bomber, however. Numerous survivors of the blast have shared their accounts to The BBC and other outlets, with one 19-year old explaining his experience as follows: “We ran and people were screaming around us and pushing on the stairs to go outside and people were falling down, girls were crying, and we saw these women being treated by paramedics having open wounds on their legs … “It was just chaos… It was literally just a minute after it ended, the lights came on and the bomb went off.” Said Donald Trump in a statement on the attack: I extend my deepest condolences to those so terribly injured in this terrorist attack and to the many killed and the families, so many families, of the victims. We stand in absolute solidarity with the people of the United Kingdom. So many young beautiful innocent people living and enjoying their lives murdered by evil losers in life. I won’t call them monsters because they would like that term. They would think that’s a great name. I will call them from now on losers because that’s what they are. They’re losers, and we’ll have more of them, but they’re losers, just remember that. This wicked ideology must be obliterated. German Chancellor Angela Merkel, meanwhile, said it “will only strengthen our resolve to…work together with our British friends against those who plan and carry out such inhumane deeds.” Grande has also issued her first statement since the fatal incident. On Twitter last night, the singer – who sources tell TMZ was “in hysterics” following the explosion – wrote a simple message that expressed her shock and grief. “broken. from the bottom of my heart, i am so so sorry. i don’t have words,” Tweeted Grande. Grande had been scheduled to perform on London on Thursday night. Insiders now tell TMZ that she has suspended the entire European tour until an unspecified date, putting on hold future shows in England, Belgium, Poland, Germany and Switzerland. Adds Grande’s manager, Scooter Braun: “We mourn the lives of children and loved ones taken by this cowardly act. We ask all of you to hold the victims, their families, and all those affected in your hearts and prayers.” In the following video, you can see attendees run for the exits after hearing the bomb go off: Ariana Grande Concert: Terrorism Strikes Greater Manchester Police Chief Constable Ian Hopkins said that victims were being taken to eight hospitals and confirmed that children were among the deceased. “We believe the attacker was carrying an improvised explosive device which he detonated,” he said. “We have been treating this as a terrorist incident and we believe at this stage that the attack was carried out by one man.” An investigation is underway to determine if the attacker was part of a larger plot or terrorist network. Bianca Landrau, the Boston hip-hop star known as Bia, who also performed at the show, Tweeted an update on her status yesterday, writing: “Guys we are okay!!!” And singer Victoria Monét, the opening act at the concert, said in a statement that she was safe but “heartbroken that loved ones who came to have the night of their lives ended up losing them,” adding: “I wish I could say that I am OK, but I am not. Please send all your prayers up high for Manchester.” Many other celebrities have also taken to social media to issue messages of mourning.
