Shia LaBeouf, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and John Malkovich offer up some choice DVD extras. By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in “Transformers: Dark of the Moon” Photo: Paramount The DVD release of “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” delivered a slew of extra features, including previously unseen footage of Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox teaming up with, and quite often running away from, shape-shifting alien robots. “Transformers: Dark of the Moon” actually clocks in at a slightly longer running time, so we can certainly expect the film’s DVD to contain a hefty helping of deleted scenes. “Because we’re 3-D, you’re shooting digital all the time,” LaBeouf told MTV News. “The beauty for us is, let’s say I’m doing a scene with [John] Malkovich or Frances [McDormand] or [Patrick] Dempsey or even Rosie [Huntington-Whiteley] — we’d just riff. You’ve got hours and hours of all that … where you’re just riffing and ad libbing and trying to come up with lines.” When you consider the film is about two hours and 40 minutes long, and the final hour is taken up with an epic battle scene in which Chicago is reduced to rubble, you can start to understand why some of that ad libbing was left on the cutting-room floor. Director Michael Bay was tweaking his cut only a month before the movie hit theaters. One short scene, for instance, featuring Malkovich’s oddball boss as he leaves a meeting with LaBeouf, Huntington-Whiteley and a few Autobots, was only cut recently. “It was just a little tiny thing where I go back to Rosie after I leave the apartment and try to get her number,” Malkovich explained. “That’s the kind of thing that could be true to the character and could not be true to the character — hard to say — but is utterly superfluous to the forward movement of the film. “You’re a figure in someone else’s dream, and however their dream plays out is the way it is,” he added. Wise words from a Hollywood veteran. ‘She loves that people are talking about it,’ gossip blogger tells MTV News. By Jocelyn Vena Perez Hilton and Lady Gaga Photo: Michael Caulfield/ Getty Images When Lady Gaga tweeted the Born This Way album art over the weekend, fans were a bit surprised by the cover photo, which features Gaga as a motorcycle/human hybrid. Was it a joke? Was it for real? Well, it was for real, and even days later, everyone’s still talking. “They were definitely divisive and it was a polarizing image,” Gaga’s pal Perez Hilton told MTV News. “I knew it would really get a reaction out of people, and that was her intent. She could have easily gone for something expected, but that’s the beautiful thing about Gaga.” The gossip blogger said the Nick Knight image’s intention was to get people buzzing, whether or not that buzz ended up in the Mother Monster’s favor. He even offered some insight into the photo’s message, which has been lost on some of Gaga’s Little Monsters. “She always wants to keep people guessing, and I think the cover works on many different levels,” he explained. “Literally, she was born that way, [like] some kind of mutant freak. There’s a lot of energy in that picture.” He adds that the vibe captured in the image will also find its way into the music on the May 23 album release. “There’s something very metal [about it and] ‘Judas’ [which was released last week] gives a taste of that dance/metal feeling,” he said. “Once the album comes out and they listen to the music, the artwork will make more sense. Celeb blogger blew out the candles at his Blue Ball Birthday Bash, telling MTV News he’ll donate event proceeds to an LGBT charity. By Kelley L. The 33-year-old blogger, who celebrated in grand Hollywood fashion on Saturday night at a Sunset Boulevard studio in Los Angeles, says that if he has his way, two things will come to pass: Lady Gaga’s Born This Way will be a super hot-selling album and teen bullying will cease. “My birthday wish for this year is for Lady Gaga’s new album, Born This Way, to sell over 1.2 million copies the first week,” he said, pausing to give off a mock-sinister laugh. “That would beat Taylor Swift’s 1.1-something!” That was actually the only kind-of-mean thing the notorious blogger said at his Blue Ball Birthday Bash on Saturday. And it could be the last. Perez said he has cleaned up his act, largely due to the teen bullying that’s been well-documented over the past year. “When there was that rash of gay teenagers committing suicide last year, and the bullying that is still going on, I was so moved. So moved that I changed how I operate on my website. When it came time to do my birthday, the idea came to me to raise money for charity and, of course, I wanted it to be a LBGT organization. And of course it was important for to me to work with one for young people,” he told MTV News. So what does that kind of change mean? For starters, it means Perez may not have to duck celebrities anymore. He’s been trying to stick to the facts, he said, and do less of the ad-libs like drawing on their paparazzi photographs. He also opened up about how he apologized to Jennifer Aniston for how he treated her over the years on his blog. “The great thing about being the new and more positive Perez is that I, hopefully, will be having less awkward, uncomfortable, negative confrontations with people,” he said. “But hey, I’m a big boy.
