And after checking out of the center in January, Lovato has made strides towards her comeback. On Tuesday, Lovato reactivated her Twitter account @ddlovato . Her first tweet said simply, “Guess who’s baaaaaaaack…!!!!!!!” From there she went on a Twitter spree, getting support from the likes of Perez Hilton and Kim Kardashian in addition to her legions of dedicated fans. “I love you guys SO MUCH … this support is UNBELIEVABLE!! I’m tearing up I’m so thankful,” she wrote. “Achievement comes to those who are willing to walk as far as it takes till you get to what few have. Stay strong,” she added. Earlier on Tuesday, Lovato tweeted from her sister Dallas’ account. “Thinking of my fans … Oh how I MISSED YOU!!!!!! BUT I’M SO EXCITED I’M BACK!!!!!!! Hahahhaha,” she wrote, with her sister adding, “Yes I’ve been hacked by Demi. She just wanted 2 make u guys smile. Hahahha.” Lovato also shared with fans her new ink, which she said she got as a thank-you to them for sticking by her side during what she previously described as “the darkest time of my life.” “The journey that I went through and the support of my fans was so meaningful to me that I wanted to thank my fans in a way that I know can never be forgotten,” the singer said in a video posted on Cambio . “So I went ahead and I got a little heart tattoo on my wrist.” “It’s something that my fans were actually drawing on their wrists while I was still in treatment. The track, an over-the-top sonic spectacle of beats, synths and messages of empowerment, is the next step in Gaga’s ever-evolving career, at least according to one well-known media pundit. The pop star’s pal Perez Hilton explains how the track fits in when compared with Gaga’s other big lead singles — The Fame ‘s “Just Dance” and The Fame Monster ‘s “Bad Romance.” “I think just by reading the lyrics that ‘Born This Way’ is taking things in a new direction,” the gossip blogger recently shared with MTV News. “Whereas ‘Bad Romance’ and ‘Just Dance’ were great first-person [songs], ‘Born This Way’ is very much about the you and I, the collective us, the little monsters and the world.” Previously, Perez described the song as an anthem for Gaga’s fans. “I’m very perceptive of what people are saying, thinking, and so is Gaga, and perhaps one of the biggest critiques, just based on the lyrics, is that it’s a very gay song,” he explained about the title track off the singer’s next album, which is scheduled for a May release. “And you know what? It is a very gay song — unapologetically gay, in-your-face gay — but it’s also a universal song that can relate to everyone,” Hilton further explained. “To all of us outsiders, to all of us freaks, to all of us who feel different. With teases for months now, Gaga’s dedicated Little Monsters finally get to hear the song, from her May release of the same name. Before you hit play and listen to the song on repeat, MTV News takes a look back at the months of anticipation for the release. Gaga first got the buzz started in September. While wearing a dress made entirely of meat, she got up onstage at the VMAs and not only announced the album title , but also sang a bit of the song for fans. Soon, details about the album were emerging, but little was known about the title track until January 1, when she announced that she would be releasing the song February 13 . Her longtime collaborator, RedOne, spoke to MTV News weeks later to reveal that the song is “so beautiful, and Gaga is very special to all of us — to the world.” Later that month, Gaga initially teased fans with a few lyrics from the song before giving up the full lyrics — revealing an anthem about equality for everyone , regardless of race, creed or sexuality. “It is a very gay song — unapologetically, gay-in-your-face gay — but it’s also a universal song that can relate to everyone,” pal Perez Hilton told MTV News . “To all of us outsiders, to all of us freaks, to all of us who feel different. And the music is undeniable. It sounds like a smash. It is a smash. It is one of the best songs of Gaga’s career.” As February 13 quickly approached, Gaga decided to treat her fans and release the track two days earlier than expected. She even shared the artwork for the track . By the time the song was released, Lady Gaga was gracing the cover of Vogue and sharing with her fans her process for writing the track. “I wrote [‘Born This Way’] in 10 f—ing minutes,” she explains in the article. “And it is a completely magical message song. The movie premiere for Justin Bieber ‘s movie “Never Say Never” happened last night at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. It was a super star packed event with guests like Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez supporting their buddy Justin, but there was some serious drama on the red carpet that kind of stole the show! When infamous celebrity blogger Perez Hilton walked down the carpet, a photographer started calling him out, using bad names, and Perez being Perez, he couldn’t just let it go! He started screaming right back at the photographer and got into a name-calling hot mess! After the event Perez posted a video on his blog, trying to talk his way out of the drama, saying how he has grown as a person and what this fight taught him about his bullying past. After gushing about Gaga’s performance at his White Tie & Tiara Ball charity event last year , John told “Access Hollywood” that he approached the singer about singing on “Hello, Hello.” “We became friends, and I adore her,” he said. “I told her about the song, and she said, ‘I’d love to do it,’ and she did it. We’re just so thrilled she took time out of her incredibly busy schedule to do it.” John said Gaga put her own spin on the pop tune, which he produced with longtime partner David Furnish. “She had fun with it and changed it a little bit and brought her own personality to it, so she gave Juliet that personality,” he said. The singer/songwriter was also pleased about another lady who joined him on the soundtrack. “It was always going to be a duet, and it’s like, ‘Who am I going to sing this with?’ ” John recalled thinking about “Hello, Hello.” “It turned out to be Gaga, and then at the end of the film, I sing with Nelly Furtado, so it’s like two great girls on one soundtrack, so I’m thrilled.” Amazon has uploaded a preview of the song, but the clip only includes Elton’s part.
