So You Think You Can Dance Quick Kicks: Rating the Top 11

Obligation #1: I have to remind you to watch this damn show. It’s effing good. You’ll remember it later. You’ll cry a bunch. You’ll call your daughter in college and she’ll know all about it. Obligation #2: It’s been stated before, but So You Think You Can Dance would be better if the judges voted on who’s eliminated instead of the home viewers. We can’t trust couch potatoes in Tuscaloosa to pick a superior between Alex Wong, Billy Bell, and Kent Boyd! Hell, we can’t trust TV critics at Movieline to do it. I’m uninformed, don’t make me ruin lives! At any rate, SYTYCD ‘s Top 11 faced off in a live competition round last night, and one routine even garnered the title of “Best Performance Ever.” Tumble with us as we disagree and break down each performance in “quick kicks.”

Being the hero in an action movie isn't all about kicking evil in the teeth, leaping away from explosions, and making glamorous love while a hit single plays delicately in the background. Sometimes you need to touch a computer. For those times, here's a handy flow chart for how to hack any system, provided you're in an action movie. http://www.collegehumor.com/article:1806103 added by: kid_amy

Electric Motorcycle: 2010 MotoCzysz E1pc

This is the 2010 MotoCzysz E1pc, a race bike built by a tiny Oregonian company focused on pushing the limits of electric performance to the absolute max. It packs 10 times the battery capacity of a Toyota Prius and 2.5 times the torque of a Ducati 1198 into a package that looks like something out of a 24th-century Thunderdome. Tomorrow it will race in the Isle of Man TT, the toughest motorcycle race in the world. The technology at work is so advanced, so unprecedented, that we may be looking not just at the future of motorcycles, but of all electric vehicles. The reason the all-electric race bike is here, 4,600 miles from its home in Portland, Oregon, is to prove itself. Ever since 1907, the Isle of Man TT has been the race for bike manufacturers and riders to show their mettle to the public. The thinking goes that if you can lap its 37.7 miles of tiny, twisty back roads with an average speed in excess of 100 MPH, you or your bike become indisputably proven. Well over 200 riders and a handful of spectator’s have been killed trying to do just that. But as recently as two days ago, the future of motorcycles was missing its body panels (stuck in customs). Before this week, the finished bike has never even seen the light of day. But even in its unproven, incomplete state, it's been putting in laps that have the competition quaking in their leather. The customs snafu (and the mad dash to even finish the bike in time for the race) is not the first time Michael Czysz, MotoCzysz’s founder, CEO and the driving force behind the E1pc, had suffered a set back on this tiny rock in the middle of the Irish Sea. Last year, the Isle of Man TT hosted the first ever all-electric motorcycle road race, and MotoCzysz was there with the E1pc's predecessor. But while the machines that entered were technically impressive, their performance wasn’t. The race-winning team only averaged 87 MPH, well short of the 100 MPH watershed that defines a serious lap and way behind the 131.5 MPH lap record set by the fastest gas-powered superbikes. MotoCzysz didn’t even complete a full lap, suffering an electric spike from their experimental kinetic energy recovery system that fried the bike’s electronic control unit (ECU). That was a major blow for Czysz (pronounced “sizz”). Five months of whirlwind effort from the former motorcycle racer and architect and his small team in Portland saw them abruptly transition away from developing a 200 HP, gasoline-powered MotoGP bike to produce an electric bike that blew the zero emissions competition away standing still. The E1pc looks like an X-Wing crossed with an iPod to the other electric racer’s cobbled-together adaptations of existing internal combustion engine bikes. We overreached and it bit us in the ass,” says Czysz of last year’s race. “We’re trying to do too much with too little, we’re effectively building a Formula One level machine with one engineer, two machinists, one CAD guy, me and a body dude.” But the E1pc was out in front when it broke down. Way out front. added by: diode

Jon Gosselin: Stoned Out of His Mind

This isn’t breaking news at all, but it is hilarious: A video of Jon Gosselin stoned last summer with then-girlfriend Hailey Glassman has just leaked online. If you recall, the two just started dating and were vacationing in St. Tropez, France, with Ed Hardy designer Christian Audigier. Looks like they had fun. An insider tells Radar Online , the king of exclusive non-stories, that they smoked spliffs (marijuana and tobacco mixed) and were drunk on champagne. Jon Gosselin, who was still married to Kate then, took turns with Hailey Glassman filming each other, making cracks about the French and lactose issues. The trip marked Jon and Hailey’s first public appearance together. When Glassman references her curly hair during a salon mishap she experienced in St. Tropez, Jon interrupts with: “It looked like big Jewish pubes.” Class . At one point, Jon, with a cigarette up his nose, says: “This is how the French smoke. They smoke so much they put cigarettes in every orifice of their body.” While there is no paraphernalia or anything, and it certainly matters little if they were actually stoned, their behavior would certainly suggest that it’s true. Christina Aguilera Performs on Today, Hypes New Album

The first part of Christina Aguilera’s plans to promote her new album (on sale today!) didn’t exactly go as planned: She’s canceled her North American tour. But that doesn’t mean she won’t have a chance to perform for fans at all, as evidenced by this morning’s Today Show concert. As part of the Toyota concert series, Xtina appeared at Rockefeller Center and sung “Fighter,” “Bionic,” “Not Myself Tonight” and “Beautiful.” Watch her in action below, first in still images and then via video… Will you purchase Aguilera’s new CD? Ponder that question and check out her rendition of “Not Myself Tonight” right now: Xtina on Today

5 Inappropriate Moments From the MTV Movie Awards

You can accuse the MTV Movie Awards of being many things, but a legitimate awards show is certainly not one of them. Never mind the categories — congratulations to Amanda Seyfried for winning Best Scared as Sh*t Performance; er, what? — or the fact that MTV felt compelled to nominate Angelina Jolie for the not-yet-released Salt , the two-hour telecast is designed for the express purpose of creating moments . And while nothing on Sunday night topped watching Sacha Baron Cohen teabag Eminen, inappropriateness reigned supreme. Which were the five most egregious examples? Movieline investigates after the jump.

Miley Cyrus Remains Unoriginal, Pathetic, Desperate for Attention

The Miley Cyrus street walking tour continued through Europe this weekend. Desperate to prove she’s no longer an innocent Disney teen (except when she wants to garner sympathy from her fans, that is), Cyrus performed in Rio and in Paris over the last couple days. The derivative act remained the same, as Cyrus wore fewer layers than Kendra Wilkinson; writhed around with back-up dancers on stage; and copied the exact same script Britney Spears perfected years ago: How to Be Edgy and Sexy, While Playing the Innocent, 17-Year Old Card Whenever Anyone Dares to Call You Out for Such Pathetic Acts and Lack of Talent. Yawn. We’ve been here and seen this multiple times in the past. At the very least, it would be nice if Miley offered fans something remotely creative… Miley Cyrus is totally innocent and naive, people! Where would you ever get the idea she’d make out with a girl in order to prove her edginess?!? [Photos: Splash News] At G-A-Y night club in Paris, meanwhile, Cyrus put on a hilarious performance: she sung inspirational ballad “The Climb,” while dressed like someone in a movie produced by Vivid Entertainment. You must watch: Miley Climbs Below, we’ve posted more videos of Miley performing in Paris and dressed like every talentless young star that can’t make it on talent alone. Can’t Be Tamed in Paris G-A-Y Performance Witnesses at the Paris club said they could see Miley’s underwear during most of her performance. Stay classy, girl!

Tom Cruise, Jennifer Lopez Get Down, Get Right at MTV Movie Awards

One of the highlights of the MTV Movie Awards was Tom Cruise – as movie mogul alter ego Les Grossman – getting down with Jennifer Lopez in a surprise cameo. After an intro from Ludacris, two worked it to her song “Get Right,” and the results were as funny as any Tropic Thunder quotes from Cruise’s infamous character. As teased in promos , the slightly crazy actor made an impression with this and other performances (a skit with Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner) last night. Rather amazingly, Cruise held his own with J. Lo … From her reaction, it looks like Katie Holmes approved of her husband’s dancing as much as we did. Check out a video of the performance after the jump … Tom Cruise and Jennifer Lopez
