Paramore Perform ‘The Only Exception’ On ‘Ellen’

Band is wrapping up a spring tour before headlining this summer’s Honda Civic Tour. By MTV News staff Paramore’s Hayley Williams performs on “Ellen” Photo: Warner Bros. On Friday (May 14), Paramore took time off from their spring tour to stop by “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” where they performed a somber, sweet version of their current single, “The Only Exception.” The performance — actually taped Thursday — showcased Paramore’s burgeoning quiet side, with frontwoman Hayley Williams singing in hushed tones, her eyes tightly shut, and guitarist Josh Farro strumming the melody on an acoustic and singing backup. The band’s other guitarist, Taylor York, added dreamy flourishes on an electric. Bassist Jeremy Davis and drummer Zac Farro played it similarly tight, laying down a muted, pretty backbeat. It was a stately, refined performance, perfectly suited for daytime TV, and at the end, the audience cheered wildly, while Williams did a triumphant jig — apparently there were some real-deal Paramore fans in the crowd, too, as Williams finished her little dance and pointed and smiled to a section of the audience — and DeGeneres herself bounded onstage to thank the band, declaring, “I love them!” She then touted Paramore’s Brand New Eyes album and announced that everyone in the studio audience would be receiving a copy. Paramore will wrap their spring tour Sunday and, after a run of festival gigs in Europe, will return to the States to headline the Honda Civic Tour , which kicks off July 23 in Raleigh, North Carolina. Tegan and Sara, New Found Glory and Kadawatha will be joining them on the trek. Williams can also be heard singing the hook on B.o.B’s smash “Airplanes,” and she’s already planning to shoot her cameo in the video. Did you see Paramore’s “Ellen” appearance? Watch: 7 year old girls dance to a raunchy number

A very controversial video of 7 year old girls dancing to the tune of Grammy Award Winning “Single Ladies” by Beyonce Knowles alarms parents who thinks that the kid’s outfits went too sexy and skimpy that it looks very inappropriate for their age. The dance troupe, called Precision Dance, hails from Orange County, and definitely “put a ring on it” during the competition in Pomona on April 10. The girls are wearing bikini tops and hot pants while they bump, grind, and gyrate, lip-syncing “If you like it, then you shoulda put a ring on it.” Larry Peters, executive vice president of The Hozman Group and rep for the dance competition, says the controversy was blown out of proportion. “There has been a great deal of controversy regarding this performance, and it has been taken out of context. It is a little sensitive now, to say the least,” Peters said. “All the dance troupes do so many different dances, it is a very personal choreography and expression for every troupe and individual. These girls were amazing that day,” Peters says, adding, “They were two minutes of an eight hour performance event.” Melissa Presch, the mom of one little dancer and Cory Miller, the father of another child in the group spoke to Inside Edition about the controversy. “I’m shocked, quite frankly, that people would suggest such things and say such things about 8 and 9 year old girls,” said Melissa Presch claiming the girls got their moves from the ‘Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel’ movie — not Beyonce’s music video. Miller added, “As a father, when you’re watching your kid, no. You’re looking at it as a proud kid who has really high energy, who doesn’t really know what she’s doing.” Peters was in the audience during the group’s performance and admits, “It was the very first WOD event I had ever attended, and I can tell you the cheering and screaming you heard on the video was from other parents and dance teams that were just blown away by their dance performance and precision. There was NOTHING provocative about what they were doing.” Now, you can admit these girls certainly can dance, but is it age appropriate? You be the judge. We Just Feel Bad for Tila Tequila

At this point, we just feel sorry for Tila Tequila. Sure, we could refer to her as a pathological liar for inventing a pregnancy. We could mock her for claiming that God is her BFF . We could, once again, call her out for exploiting the death of her ex-girlfriend, Casey Johnson. We could say many disparaging things about this poor woman… but to what end? We simply pity Tila by now, as she put on a concert to celebrate the launch of her new EP, Welcome To The Darkside , last night – and the most famous person to show up for it was former American Idol contestant Trenyce. Plus, she wore the following outfits at the event. They speak, tragically, for themselves…

Muse’s Single From The ‘Eclipse’ Soundtrack — Catch a Sneak Peek Here!

Take an exclusive look at the video for ‘Neutron Star Collision (Love Is Forever).’ By James Montgomery Muse’s Matthew Bellamy in “Neutron Star Collision (Love is Forever)” When it was announced last week that Muse had been tapped to release the first single off the hotly anticipated “Eclipse” soundtrack , fans of Stephenie Meyers’ vamp-o-riffic series rejoiced. Not only did Muse’s music play an integral part in the creation of the “Twilight” books, but they’ve now managed to land a song on each of the three film soundtracks — there’s something to be said for continuity, after all. And now that they can actually hear a snippet of that first single — a track called “Neutron Star Collision (Love Is Forever)” — and catch a glimpse of the rather dramatic video, well, we expect them to rejoice even harder. Perhaps even spontaneously combust. The song itself doesn’t stray very far from Muse’s wheelhouse, which is to say that it sounds epic, spacey and positively majestic, full of crashing drums, doomy piano stabs and fleet-fingered guitars that spiral heavenward. Frontman Matthew Bellamy sings for the rafters, belting out couplets like “Love is forever/ And we’ll die, we’ll die together” — which seem to capture the forbidden love between Bella and Edward quite nicely, don’t they? The video itself is a fairly low-key affair, just the band rocking out on a wide-open stage, while a series of screens flash between colors dramatically, bathing them in various hues. Oh, and as is somewhat fitting for an epic track like this, there’s gratuitous use of slow-motion, too, which only helps capture the sheer bombast of the performance. “Neutron Star Collision” will hit radio on May 17, and the “Eclipse” soundtrack is due on June 8. But you probably already knew that by now — and, really, why are you still reading this? Check out an exclusive sneak peek of both the song and the video right here, right now! Bon Jovi Rock ‘American Idol’ With ‘Superman Tonight’

‘The harder we work, the luckier we get,’ Jon Bon Jovi says of group’s continued success. By Josh Wigler Jon Bon Jovi With Casey James and Lee Dewyze cleared to the top three and the fates of “American Idol” hopefuls Michael Lynche and Crystal Bowersox hanging in the balance, New Jersey rock band Bon Jovi flew to the “Idol” stage to provide a brief moment of respite from the audience’s nervous anticipation. Bon Jovi performed a blaring rendition of “Superman Tonight,” the second single from their 11th studio album, The Circle. In the past, frontman Jon Bon Jovi has described the song as “something like a diary of the observer, and I’m just the fly on the wall,” providing a suitable context for the musician’s role on Wednesday night’s (May 12) “American Idol”: While Bon Jovi himself is used to taking center stage, even his rocking presence couldn’t fully alleviate the crowd’s anxiety over who would be going home next, an unfortunate distinction that ultimately fell upon Lynche. Following the end of “Superman Tonight,” Ryan Seacrest spoke with Bon Jovi, lead guitarist Richie Sambora and the rest of the band’s roster to congratulate them not just on their performance, but on their status as “the #1 touring band in the world [and] another #1 album.” Asked how Bon Jovi are able to replicate their success year after year, Jon replied: “You know, hard work and good luck. Good friends who have put us in the right places. “We’re humbled. We’ve crossed generations at this point,” Bon Jovi said amid wild applause from the young audience. “It’s really great. The sky’s the limit. The harder we work, the luckier we get — that’s pretty much the way it is.” What did you think of Bon Jovi’s performance on “American Idol”? Let us know in the comments! American Idol Gets Crystal-ized

Need a few examples that illustrate how far American Idol has fallen on season nine? Fox now airs commercials for the remaining episodes that don’t even focus on the contestants. Instead, they hype this as Simon’s final season. On last night’s movie-themed edition, Casey James resorted to a rendition of “Mrs. Robinson” from The Graduate , in order to revive jokes about Kara’s crush on him and distract from his lack of actual, finals-worthy ability. Kara critiqued Lee’s “Kiss From a Rose” with these vapid words: “It’s one of most difficult songs to sing. But you can’t take away from the fact that you are still great.” Really? This is the final four. Isn’t he supposed to be able to sing difficult songs at this point? Former finalist Blake Lewis, blogging for USA Today , wrote: “The show is getting close to over and I am waiting for someone to have an amazing performance, but this year has been pretty boring, I must say. Hopefully someone will prove me wrong.” Amen, Blake. We’ve ranked last night’s performances below, simply because we have to: Crystal Bowersox : Ellen said the evening got “Crystal-ized” with this rendition of “I’m Alright.” Sadly, that pun was the highlight of the entire episode. Lee DeWyze : We summed him up above. The judges agreed his performance wasn’t anything special, but basically admitted: Eh, you’re better than Michael and Casey. Michael Lynche: Went with Michael Jackson’s “Will You Be There” and did his usual connecting with the audience. At some point, though, viewers will have to realize that Big Mike’s singing voice is nothing special. Casey James: The whole “Mrs. Robinson” thing was forced and lame. It’s his time to go home. WHO WAS YOUR FAVORITE PERFORMER?

Crystal Bowersox And Lee Dewyze Earn High Praise From ‘American Idol’ Judges With ‘Falling Slowly’

The pair’s duet on song from ‘Once’ has judges raving on movie night. By Kara Warner Crystal Bowersox and Lee Dewyze Photo: FOX Tuesday”s “American Idol”” was to be, in the words of Ryan Seacrest, “a theme fit for a star,” and all about paying tribute to the movies . And with cool-as-a-cucumber mentor Jamie Foxx and several interesting song selections in tow, the Top 4 gave it their all. Sort of. The judges agreed that the evening’s two duets, “Falling Slowly” by Crystal Bowersox and Lee Dewyze; and “Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman” by Michael Lynche and Casey James, were better than the contestants’ solo performances. And there’s not much question that Crystal and Lee’s dueling-guitar version of the Oscar-winning “Once” tune sung by Glen Hansard and Mark

Miley Cyrus Lap Dance Video: Reportedly in Existence!

Miley Cyrus has tried to warn people: she can’t be tamed! According to a new report, this was never truer than at a wrap party last year for The Last Song . Radar Online states the actress gave producer Adam Shankman a lap dance at the event – and a tape of the performance is currently on the market! “The video was taken about seven months ago,” a source says. “The worst part is that there were little kids at the party and the dancing between Miley and Adam was so dirty that some of the parents actually left the party and took their kids home.” Not Billy Ray Cyrus, we presume. He probably loved his daughter’s dirty work. Those that have witnessed the video have relayed its contents: Shankman is allegedly on the dance floor with a drink in hand, grinding against Miley’s rear end. She reciprocates the move. Soon, Cyrus turns around to face the producer and unbuttons the top layer of her shirt, teasing Shankman and those around her. In a separate scene, Miley is giving Shankman a lap dance while children under the age of 10 sit just a few feet away. When photos of this moving and shaking appeared on Twitter in late 2009, Shankman (who is gay) defended Cyrus and wrote: “Miley is a sweet angel who works tirelessly and endlessly, and is allowed to have fun in the make up room! Lighten up or no more behind the scenes pics! She’s my little angel sister.” Others, however, fear that Cyrus won’t be very angelic for much longer. “[She’s] heading down the same path as Lindsay Lohan and Britney Spears,” an insider said, insulting Miley in pretty much the worst way possible. We’ll have more on this video as news breaks and anonymous sources reveal more details about it.

‘Dancing With The Stars’ Pro Says Tabloids Affected Kate Gosselin’s Performance

Tony Dovolani says he and Gosselin read the tabs ‘every single day’ while on the show. By Kelley L. Carter Kate Gosselin and Tony Dovolani Photo: ABC You would think after starring in a reality-TV show and going through a very public divorce, Kate Gosselin would be used to being a favorite tabloid target. But her former “Dancing With the Stars” partner, Tony Dovolani , said the media scrutiny still gets to her, and it even affected her performance before they were eliminated from the show last month. “What surprised me the most about working with her was how much the tabloids attack her. That really shocked me the most,” Dovolani told MTV News at the third-annual George Lopez Celebrity Golf Classic to benefit the Ann and George Lopez Foundation. “There are a lot of untrue stories about her. We read them every single day. It became entertaining. We would laugh at how much stuff people could actually make up. At times, yes, it affected her dancing. When you have a big bull’s-eye on your back as she does, of course it bothers you. It affected me, and it wasn’t directed at me.” Dovolani is convinced that what kept them on the show so long — despite the harsh criticisms they received from judges — was that women connected with Gosselin’s story. “People loved her as a mom,” he said. “Every mom struggles and trying to keep a balance. One kid is a lot, let alone eight.” Now that he and Kate are out, who does Dovolani think is the front-runner in the show? ESPN reporter Erin Andrews. “I love my girl Erin. She’s dancing with my best friend Maks,” he said. “Her personality, her dancing ability, her beauty — everything makes her the front-runner. I think she’s hilarious. I think she’s fantastic and she’s what this show is about.” Who do you think should win this season of “Dancing With the Stars”? Share your thoughts in the comments.
