Katy Perry in Teen Vogue: Blue About Fame

Teen Vogue features the lovely Katy Perry on its new cover. The pop superstar says she has already tired of being famous … but it’s just the price of creating. A heavy price, no doubt. The 27-year-old despises the massive fame that her success has brought her, calling it “disgusting by-product” of what she does. The singer has endured heavy scrutiny after the end of her marriage to Russell Brand, and admits she’s sick of critics commenting on her personal life. She tells Teen Vogue , “I’m tired of being famous already! But I’m not tired of creating. Fame is, I think, just a disgusting by-product of what I do.” “It’s a delicate creature – a wild animal of sorts. It can love you, and then it can attack you. But really, I stopped focusing on what other people think a while ago.” “If you try to be everything to everyone, you’ll only end up completely confused.” Perry admits she wants to be “as approachable and relatable as possible,” but can’t understand why some devotees break down in tears when they meet her. She says, “When I meet fans and they’re crying, I’ll say, ‘Calm down, there’s nothing to cry about. I’m not going to bite or attack or grant you three wishes.” “Let’s just hang out and have a good time.’” Indeed. And enjoy these Katy Perry pics :

Katy Perry’s ‘Part Of Me’ Film Inspired By Madonna

Perry says Madge’s ‘Truth or Dare’ is ‘amazing, because it caught her at a time when she was a bit more vulnerable.’ By James Dinh Katy Perry in the “Katy Perry: Part of Me 3D” trailer Photo: Paramount Much like her pop-star peers, Katy Perry cites Madonna as a big influence, especially on her “Part of Me” 3-D concert movie , which hits theaters July 5, which was partially inspired by the Queen of Pop’s 1991 film “Truth or Dare.” In a recent interview with Teen Vogue, the always-colorful starlet spoke about her upcoming big-screen adventure and how “Truth or Dare” led to its creation. “Madonna is everything to me, and that movie is amazing, because it caught her at a time when she was a bit more vulnerable,” Perry said of the film, which chronicled the icon’s Blond Ambition Tour. “I wanted to do that too, to capture a snapshot of who I am now so that I can remind myself what I’ve lost if I ever do become totally jaded.” The topics covered in “Part of Me” include the singer’s strict, religious upbringing, being dropped from her label early in her career and her candy-coated California Dreams Tour. Perry, who spent much of 2011 and early 2012 on the trek, explained that her interest in documenting her life began even before the tour started. “When we started to book these really big venues, I felt like I was going all in,” she said. “And I figured that by the end of it, I’d be bankrupt, or else I’d look like the smartest music businesswoman of my age, and I thought either outcome would be interesting.” More importantly, the chart-topper wanted the general public to see how the Katy Perry machine really works. On Tuesday, the trailer for the anticipated flick surfaced , appeasing Katy Cats for the time being. In the two-minute preview, Katy’s rise to stardom remains a key theme of the film as flashback footage and photos of the singer’s younger days is shown. Are you excited for Katy’s concert movie? Jessica Alba’s Sexy Little Mommy Booty

Over the last few years the only pictures I’ve been getting of Jessica Alba have been shots of her in mom clothes taking her kid for a walk, and I’m sick of it, so this is more like it. Here she is on the way to the gym in some hot little yoga pants showing us that there’s still some hotness hidden underneath that mom costume. Awesome. I figured she was still in good shape, but it’s nice to see it first hand. Well done. Now let us see what you look like in a bikini.

‘Katy Perry: Part Of Me’ Trailer: Five Key Scenes

Trailer for upcoming 3-D concert movie shows singer hard at work and interacting with fans. By Fallon Prinzivalli Katy Perry in the trailer for “Katy Perry: Part Of Me” Photo: Imagine Entertainment It’s here, KatyCats! Paramount Pictures debuted Katy Perry’s “Part of Me” trailer for her 3-D concert movie Tuesday night. The trailer offers a glimpse of what audiences can expect from the film, in theaters July 5. The movie gives fans a peek into the “Firework” singer’s personal life . When Perry sat down with MTV News, she said, “Literally, this film is basically like you’re seeing it from my best friend-buddy perspective.” Perry’s always been open with her fans, interacting with them on Twitter and holding meet-and-greets at every show. But the trailer reveals a side of Perry that’s sure to be new to fans. To show you what we mean, here are five key scenes from the trailer. Be Prepared As a commentator says, “She outworks everyone.” There are shots of Perry at the gym, trying on a costume at a fitting, rehearsing her dance moves and testing the wires and ropes for stage stunts. When fans arrive at the arena for a concert, they see the final production, but not all the hard work that went into putting the show together. From the looks of the trailer, audiences will gain a new respect for Perry as they see just how hard she works to give a stellar performance. “Marriage Over” After the words “Marriage Over” flash into view via a newspaper headline, there’s a heartbreaking scene of Perry looking defeated as she’s hunched over her dressing-room table. It shows that while she may work hard at international superstardom, at the end of the day, she’s human and emotional hardships affect her just like the rest of us. We commend Perry for sharing such a personal time in her life with her fans. She’s a Firework The next scene of Perry shows her getting out of a car for a red-carpet event. She has overcome her failed marriage and moved on with her career. The moment is inspirational as Perry continues to take the stage and perform regardless of what’s going on in her personal life. Her strength is sure to leave an impression on viewers. The Long Journey In between scenes of old music videos from the beginning of her career, we learn that Perry wasn’t always the California princess we know and love today. She grew up in a strict Christian home and her performances were limited to church, but she continued following her dreams. After they finally seemed to be within reach, the label she signed with dropped her. We see a younger Perry pouring her heart into her music as she records a song, only to look defeated afterwards as she says in a voiceover, “I was going through some depressing dark times, but it’s a journey.” Embracing Perry’s “Weirdness” We were hoping to see some behind-the-scenes footage of Perry and her spontaneity, and it looks like our wish came true! “Thank you so much for believing in my weirdness,” Perry yells to the audience. She says her goal when she’s performing is “just to make people smile.” What follows is a montage of Perry posing with fans (one of whom is dressed up as her nerdy alter ego, Kathy Beth Terry), sticking her tongue out at the camera and busting out some awkward dance moves. Perry’s fun-loving persona is a big reason fans are so drawn to her as a person. KatyCats will no doubt be pleased by whatever backstage antics this film contains. ‘Mad Men’ Creators Used Fat Suit For Betty Draper’s Weight Gain

January Jones’ piled on the pounds in the second episode. By Gil Kaufman January Jones in “Mad Men” Photo: AMC If you followed the arc of “Mad Men” actress January Jones’ real-life pregnancy, you know that the slim TV star never looked … that big. And by that big we mean the really full-figured look Jones’ character, Betty Draper
, showed off during Sunday night’s second episode of the show’s fifth season. That Betty was, well, big all over: in the face, the arms, middle. And while we still don’t know the identity of Jones’ real-life baby daddy, one mystery was solved on Monday when it was revealed that Jones was wearing a fat suit and prosthetic face and neck appliances to make her character look heavy duty. While Jones was pregnant with her now-six-month-old song Xander during filming, instead of writing that into the plot, series creator Matthew Weiner had the series’ writers explain it away by explaining that Betty had packed on the pounds out of boredom, depression and a distance from her second husband, Henry Francis. The shocking makeover divided fans and once again caused the kind of Monday morning quarterbacking that TV execs salivate over, which was totally the point. According to the Hollywood Reporter the makeup artists on the show did the same thing for Jones that they did for cast mate Elizabeth Moss when her character Peggy Olsen was pregnant during season one. The crack team covered Jones in a fat suit and prosthetic facial and neck appliances that gave Betty a surprisingly zaftig look. In addition, they used a back double for the scene where Betty steps out of the shower. While Jones’ Betty has a history of weigh issues stemming from a childhood as a chubby kid whose every meal was monitored by her mother, only to shed that weight to become a slender model, the Reporter speculated that her emotional eating may have been triggered by her ex Don Draper’s sexy, slim new wife, Megan. Jones gave birth to Xander in September and was quickly back to her old shape, thanks, in part, she claimed, to such unconventional methods as eating her own placenta. “It’s not witch-crafty or anything. It’s something I was very hesitant about,” she told People magazine at the time of eating the lining of her uterus in dehydrated pill form. “But we’re only the only mammals who don’t ingest our own placentas.” Related Photos ‘Mad’ Hook Ups: The Relationships Of ‘Mad Men’

Katy Perry’s ‘Part Of Me’ Concert Film Gets Personal

Trailer for singer’s 3-D flick touches on her divorce from Russell Brand and includes confessions about her career strife. By Jocelyn Vena Katy Perry in the “Katy Perry: Part of Me 3D” trailer Photo: Paramount In between dazzling shots of her onstage, in her music videos and getting dolled up in sparkling costumes, Katy Perry also addresses some real issues in her first full trailer for her 3-D concert film, “Part of Me,” set for release in July. While she doesn’t directly discuss her divorce from actor/comedian Russell Brand in the teaser, the split is referenced by a news headline as Perry is seen getting ready for one of her shows. And that’s not the only personal subject the colorful pop star will open up about in the film. Katy’s Religious Background Perry, now best known for her candy-coated, flirty persona, grew up in a strict, religious family. In the trailer, Perry talks about finding her voice while going to religious services with her family. She says, “The atmosphere I grew up in was 100 percent Christian. I started singing in church; I never really had another plan.” Perry Gets Dropped From her Label While it might seem that Perry went from virtual unknown to chart-topping pop sensation overnight, Perry and her friends open up about the trying time she had between being dropped from her label and eventually finding success. “I was going through some depressing, dark times,” she recalls, “but it’s a journey, and I learned so much from that journey. I feel like a stronger, better person because of it.” California Gurl Live Onstage While the film is about her life behind the scenes, a major part of the movie is her eye-catching California Dreams Tour, which went all around the world in 2011 and early 2012. “You have to be really be grateful and know that it’s a different set of people every single night,” she says of hitting the stage. “My goal when I’m playing shows is just to make people smile.” KP Lives out her California Dreams In the end, Perry’s message is always about living your dream, no matter what strife might come your way. She has this advice for her Katy Cats: “If you have a dream, you gotta go on a journey to fulfill that dream.” “Part of Me” opens July 5. The film was directed by Magical Elves’ Dan Cutforth and Jane Lipsitz, who also served as producers on Justin Bieber’s highly successful “Never Say Never” concert movie. “Part of Me” is also the name of the lead single off Perry’s just-released Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection album. Katy Perry’s ‘Part Of Me’ Trailer: Follow Your Dreams

Sneak peek of upcoming 3-D concert movie shows Katy’s ups and downs on the road to superstardom. By Kara Warner Katy Perry in the “Katy Perry: Part of Me 3D” trailer Photo: Paramount Katy Perry has proven to be an expert tease in offering up details about her highly anticipated big-screen debut in “Katy Perry: Part of Me.” But on Tuesday (April 3), we finally got a glimpse of what to expect via the first official trailer . The nearly two-minute teaser opens with a shot of Perry onstage, with her otherworldly “E.T.” playing in the background, followed by quick cuts to footage of her Candy Land-esque California Dreams Tour and a voice-over about her meteoric rise to fame. “Katy’s just an explosion. She just keeps getting bigger and bigger and bigger,” a man says in one testimonial, which plays behind flashes of her impressive statistics — the “first female to have five #1 singles on one album” — interspersed with scenes from her music videos for “California Gurls,” “Waking Up in Vegas” and “Teenage Dream.” “It’s always about the challenge,” another man says, with behind-the-scenes footage of Perry rehearsing and getting fitted for costumes playing. “What are people saying she can’t do? That’s what she does next. Every song has something to do with her life.” “She outworks everyone,” another friend says. “I honestly don’t know how she does it.” As headlines of Perry’s divorce flash onscreen, “E.T.” fades away and we hear the opening notes of “Firework,” which provides the background music for scenes and interviews about Perry’s religious childhood, her struggles in being signed to different labels and not being successful and ultimately how she powered through and kept believing in herself to become the superstar she is today. The end of the trailer is a mash-up of behind-the-scenes images from her very colorful concert tour and countless interactions with happy fans. “If you have a dream, you’re going to go on a journey to fulfill that dream,” Perry says as the trailer fades to black. Perry recently told MTV News that the movie is a fitting end to her adventure in promoting and touring for her Teenage Dream album. “It’s closing the chapter on Teenage Dream, but it’s giving you such an inside perspective,” Perry said when asked what fans will get out of the movie-going experience this summer. “This film, you’re going to see it from my best friend/buddy perspective, you’re going to see exactly what I mean and feel and think about everything.” The recent Kids’ Choice Award winner promised that while there will be eye-catching 3-D sequences, they won’t be cheap tricks. “Listen, I’ve [worked on] most of this film for a very long time and the word ‘cheap’ was not in the vocabulary,” she said. “But, hello, it’s 3-D. You’re going to get hit with a lot of sh–.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . ‘Katy Perry: Part Of Me’ 3-D Trailer: Five Things We Want To See

We’re hoping for a peek at Perry’s backstage antics and her geeky alter ego, Kathy Beth Terry, when the concert clip drops on Tuesday. Perry never disappoints when it comes to her live shows — from costumes to sets to colorful hair, she always leaves fans screaming for an encore — and we expect nothing less from the concert movie. But while we wait, here’s what we’re hoping for from the trailer debut. Off the Road Perry is known for her fun-loving, spontaneous persona. And while we’re looking forward to seeing the concert footage, we’re also hoping for some unexpected backstage antics. Whether she’s pulling pranks on her dancers, making funny faces into the camera or telling jokes at dinner, we’re excited to see a part of Katy normally reserved for when she’s off-camera. Costumes, Costumes, Costumes From a whipped-cream-shooting bra to a carousel dress to her sexy take on a toy soldier, Perry doesn’t hold back when it comes to her wardrobe. We have our fingers crossed for a sneak peek at the singer’s outfits! We can’t fathom what lies behind her dressing-room door, but whatever she wears, it’s sure to be sparkly and bright. Her Kids’ Choice Awards red-carpet look on Saturday proved this yet again. Meeting the KatyCats Perry is a huge fan of her fans, and she’s known to hold countless meet-and-greets on tour. A few fan-encounter clips are sure to please her devoted KatyCats. We can only imagine how it would feel to wind up in the trailer for your favorite pop singer’s movie. Perry’s Viewpoint We’re used to seeing pop stars perform live onstage, but it’s rare to get a sense of the show from the artist’s point of view. We’d love to see what Perry sees when she looks out into the audience. Are the fans screaming and crying or dancing and singing? What’s the first thing she notices when she steps onstage? Is it a fan-made poster or the bright lights? A quick glimpse at what Perry sees is sure to be unique and interesting. Kathy Beth Terry Perry introduced us to her 13-year-old, nerdy alter ego, Kathy Beth Terry, last summer in her video for “Last Friday Night (TGIF).” Kathy was an instant hit, collecting more than 800,000 likes on her Facebook page. Her thoughts on mega-crush Steve Johnson and getting through the 6th grade were hilarious, and we hope to see more of her commentary — plus the bright-pink turtleneck and denim jumper — in the trailer.
