The war of words between Spike Lee and Tyler Perry continues as Perry recently said at a press conference that “Spike can go straight to hell!” Lee has been a very vocal critic of Perry and his films. “I’m so sick of hearing about damn Spike Lee,” Perry said during a press conference . “Spike can go straight to hell! You can print that. I am sick of him talking about me, I am sick of him saying, ‘this is a coon, this is a buffoon.’ I am sick of him talking about black people going to see movies. This is what he said: ‘you vote by what you see,’ as if black people don’t know what they want to see.” “Each artist should be allowed to pursue their artistic endeavors, but I still think there is a lot of stuff out today that is coonery and buffoonery,” Lee said in 2009. “I know it’s making a lot of money and breaking records, but we can do better. … I am a huge basketball fan, and when I watch the games on TNT, I see these two ads for these two shows (Tyler Perry’s ‘Meet the Browns’ and ‘House of Payne’), and I am scratching my head. We got a black president, and we going back to Mantan Moreland and Sleep ‘n’ Eat?” Tyler Perry’s new film, Madea’s Big Happy Family , is in theaters this Friday. Whose side are you on? I’ve been missing Katy Perry’s big hipster breasts lately so these shots of her from some photoshoot crossed my desk at just the right time. I don’t know who the photographer was, but I like the way he used the neon floaties and boom box to really set the mood, it reminds me of some cheesy eighties porno. So hot. I would like to spend some time playing with Katy’s plump floaties.

Tyler Perry portrays the wisecracking, no-nonsense grandmother Mabel “Madea” Simmons in the upcoming Madea’s Big Happy Family , but this weekend, Perry made another grandmother’s family very happy after he handed over the keys to a brand new house. 88-year-old Rosa Lee Ransbury’s home burned down just one week before Christmas in 2010. The news of the fire reached Perry, who decided to have the house rebuilt. Perry also completely furnished the house. Ransby, who lives in rural Coweta County, GA with her seven grandchildren and great-grandchildren, met with Perry and more than twenty of her family members on Friday outside of the four-bedroom, 2,500 square foot home, where Perry gave them a tour of the house. ‘When I’m playing ‘Firework,’ the whole arena literally moves up and down,’ she tells MTV News. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Sway Calloway Katy Perry Photo: MTV News Katy Perry has been hitting the road on her California Dreams World Tour , which hits the States in June. Her colorful live show includes costumes to match and choice cuts plucked from the singer’s repertoire. Some of those tunes, specifically songs from last year’s Teenage Dream, are proving to be more than just a good time for fans — they’re also inspirational. “I always want to be completely honest and, for this record in particular, I knew from the outside world, a lot had changed. [But] I was hoping that I was still the same me, [the] kind of quirky, weird-perspective girl that I’ve always been,” she told MTV News recently. “But you know, there was a lot of distraction and glitz and glam. When you get to a certain point, you have to push it all away and remember what your core is, and that’s what I did for this record.” So, before she hit the road or the recording studio, Perry headed home to Santa Barbara, California, and took it all back to the beginning, before she was a famous pop star with an over-the-top life. “I started writing songs like ‘Firework’ and ‘Teenage Dream’ and songs that I think now are anthems for people,” she explained. “When I’m playing ‘Firework,’ the whole arena literally moves up and down. It’s the song that people are holding onto and inspired by.” Perry admitted that something as simple as a Hollywood party can be fun fodder for a song, but these days she likes to go a little deeper. “I feel really happy that I took that time to not write about DJs and fame, the materialistic world, which is great ’cause I love those glitz-and-glamour bells and whistles, but I know people connect to more substantial [lyrics].” Which Katy Perry song are you most eager to hear her perform live?
