Why Elizabeth Banks Tweets

“I accidentally got on Twitter because there was a fake Elizabeth Banks, twittering, and David Wain, who’s the director of Role Models and a good friend of mine, was staying at my house in L.A., twittering. I didn’t know anything about Twitter at the time, but he was following me, thinking it was me. And this person tweeted, ‘Hanging out by my pool! Just chilling on Saturday!’ And David Wain was actually hanging out by my pool, on Saturday, and I wasn’t there. I was in New York or something. And so he was like, ‘Huh, I don’t think you’re Elizabeth Banks.’ And this person broke down, and said, ‘No I’m not Elizabeth Banks. I started this because I’m a fan and now I have all these followers and I don’t know what to do.’ David called me and said, ‘Do you want me to broker the password away from this guy and get your identity back on Twitter?’ And he did! So, yeah: I got Twitter identity theft.” Now you know. [ Esquire ]

The-Nightmare Opens Up About Destroying His Marriage To C-Milli And Implies It Was Her Fault For Marrying Him In The First Place

Hold up, did this dirty dog think he could throw shade at Christina without us picking up on it? In a new interview with Vibe.com, The-Dream talks all sorts of things that make him reflect on life, including being hated on on Twitter and his divorce. Asked how his very public breakup affected his music, he had this to say: It’s just allowed me to be more real. I’d rather be the bad guy than anybody else be the bad girl because I can handle it. It’s a bad thing that two people can break up, but the truth of the matter is that it happens all the time for different reasons. But what’s wrong with a public breakup is that they never really know the truth. And I won’t be the person who says it. I’m not going to be that type. If something breaks, it’s not something to celebrate. Well-put. So you’re saying you’re not the only one who did wrong in that relationship, but at the same time there’s no need for details? Right. I won’t put something on someone else’s plate that they can’t handle. What this does for me is give me another plateau to speak on break ups from another point of view. Maybe through me a woman can learn how to keep a ni–a. Wow, Dream. Way to be a stand-up guy for your ex. SMH. And then to clean it up, he came with the woe-is-me story.

‘Don’t Be Afraid Of The Dark’ Is Guillermo Del Toro’s ‘Hide And Seek’

‘That’s the rhythm of the movie in a horror genre,’ director tells MTV News. By Deborah Kim, with reporting by Kara Warner Guillermo del Toro Photo: Andrew H. Walker/ Getty Images It’s a cautionary tale straight out of a mother’s mouth: “If you don’t brush your teeth, monsters will creep into your mouth at night and devour them like candy.” But Guillermo del Toro’s rated-R version is less cavity, more cryptic. Based on a 1973 TV movie with the same name, Friday’s “Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark,” starring Katie Holmes and Guy Pearce, features the same hollow whispers from menacing monsters trapped behind brick fireplaces, only now those creatures are out for innocent, bright-white baby teeth. But even with del Toro’s new spin on what he said was the scariest movie he’d ever seen as a kid, the producer told MTV News some things always stay the same. “In horror films, there are only two dynamics. One is what I call hide and seek, meaning there’s a lot of tension. If you’re searching, you’re really tense about opening the door and somebody jumping out of the closet that was hiding. “And if you’re hiding in the closet, you’re really afraid when you hear footsteps nearby,” he added. “And then tag, when the person finally comes out, and you’re going to chase them to tag them.” With a mind as complicated and fantastical as Pan’s Labyrinth, you’d expect del Toro to have a more intricate stream of thought. But the method behind his moviemaking is simply, well, simple. “I do sort of a tag, hide and seek, hide and seek, hide and seek, tag, tag, tag,” he explained. “So that’s the rhythm of the movie in a horror genre. You just pace it like that.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com .

Comic-Con Proposal

Kristen Stewart Is ‘Gorgeous,’ Other ‘Snow White’ Director Says

‘Nobody’s backed off,’ Tarsem tells MTV News of competing ‘Snow White’ projects. By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Kristen Stewart as “Snow White” Photo: Universal In one corner of the fairy tale-meets-Hollywood world, there is Kristen Stewart and mighty Universal Pictures. In the other, there is Julia Roberts and upstart Relativity Pictures. Both sides are pushing forward with “Snow White” adaptations . Only one can boast of having, in Stewart, one of the biggest young names in the business. But the director of the other “Snow White,” Tarsem , not only isn’t worried, but paid Stewart a high compliment when we caught up with him at San Diego Comic-Con. “She’s gorgeous,” he told us, adding that he’d only seen her onscreen work in David Fincher’s “Panic Room.” “She’s great.” For his Snow White, Tarsem cast up-and-comer Lily Collins, looping her into a production that has already kicked off and which will hit theaters months ahead of Stewart’s in 2012. “For me, when I looked at it, I thought there’s only room for one of these,” he explained of the two competing films. “And it looks like there’s more. Nobody’s backed off. I just know that we were ready so much earlier. And thank God for Julia, because when she came in, I got everything my way.” While we have seen photos of Stewart , as well as co-stars Liam Hemsworth and Charlize Theron, in “Snow White and the Huntsman,” thus far from Tarsem’s film, we’ve only seen Collins in character . So what type of evil queen will Roberts end up being? “A mixed-up queen,” Tarsem told us. “I don’t know how to do for the ‘now you shall’ kind of person. For me, [it’s] the personality of a person who looks into the mirror and does all the evil deeds she needs to do. Like serial killers, you outsource your evil: The devil made me do it or I hear voices. It’s kind of one of those people. She does what she does, but she thinks it comes from a place where the person in the mirror tells it to her.” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Brothers Grimm: Snow White.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com .

James Franco May Be Worried, But ‘Apes’ Director Isn’t

Rupert Wyatt doesn’t share Franco’s concern that ‘Rise of the Planet of the Apes’ will suffer because of his involvement. By Eric Ditzian Freida Pinto and James Franco in “Rise of the Planet of the Apes” Photo: Twentieth Century Fox Film James Franco is worried. Is the what’s-that-dude’s-deal backlash going to follow him into the multiplex? There’s the Oscar debacle and the dozen or so degrees he’s pursuing and the “Three’s Company” performance-art installation and any number of other accomplishments and interests that get on some people’s nerves, and Franco is fearful his newest movie, “Rise of the Planet of the Apes,” is going to suffer because of it all. “Critics will be out to kill this movie and blame me for it just because they are out to kill me,” he said in a July Playboy interview. “Last year people were pretty nice. This is the year when people are going to have fun going after me.” One person who isn’t concerned is “Apes” director Rupert Wyatt. “I think people are going to see this film, hopefully, for the film,” the British filmmaker told MTV News at San Diego Comic-Con . “Those that will go see this film for James Franco will still see the film for James Franco. I totally understand where he’s coming from. Obviously he took a bit of a knock with the Oscars, but at the end of the day, he’s an actor and that’s his job.” Likely helping matters, from critical reviews to box-office pop, is that “Apes” is a first-rate piece of popcorn entertainment. And, honestly, we’re kind of surprised to say that. But after checking out an early screening, we can say the story is engrossing, the CG apes look amazing, and Andy Serkis, as the lead ape, delivers one heck of an emotional performance. Seriously! The humans, even Franco himself, take a backseat to Serkis’ motion-captured performance as Caesar, the super-smart simian who leads his fellow creatures in their San Francisco-trashing uprising. For his part, Serkis credits his co-star with helping create a believable relationship between Caesar and Franco’s kindhearted but misguided scientist. “It was amazing working with him,” Serkis told us. “It really is a testament if they can truly believe the person opposite them — who is wearing a performance-capture suit with a head-mounted camera — actually go full-on and have a relationship with them. It’s all about believability. All credit to him that he bought into the whole process.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Rise of the Planet of the Apes.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . This is the story of my VERY unexpected 2nd Bieber…

This is the story of my VERY unexpected 2nd Bieber experience. It was a Saturday morning, July 16, 2011. I had just returned home from a vacation trip with my best friend, Paige Ito (paigeito2) and her family. I was so exhausted since it was 3am when I returned home that morning. My Mom let me sleep in but woke me up in time to remind me that it was Jeanine’s wedding day. This was an “adult only” wedding and no children were attending. Jeanine decided to invite some of the older cousins which included me. I debated whether to attend the wedding or stay back and watch my three little cousins so my older cousin could go since I was so tired.  After discussing what to do, my Mom suggested that I go and said I would have fun since my other teenage cousins were now coming. I said okay and off to Malibu we go. We arrive to the wedding and it’s the most beautiful, perfect day ever. There were only four of us teenagers (cousins) that were invited. As the night progressed the DJ announces that it’s time for the cake cutting ceremony. So everyone heads over to the opposite side of the dance floor. While the cake ceremony is going on, my Mom, cousin Alyssa, cousin Marisa, my Aunt Cece and like four other random people I didn’t know (including this mustache man behind me..lol) were on the dance floor. My cousin Alyssa and I were excited to have the dance floor to ourselves. We were like finally! KID TIME!! We spoke to the DJ and gave him the sign that it “was time”. Time to play some JUSTIN BIEBER!!!  We had already talked to the DJ prior to this point about playing some Bieber songs and he assured us he would play them. So the DJ starts us off with “Baby” and we start jamming out. I asked my Mom if she would record Alyssa and I dancing and she was like sure! Since the cake ceremony still appeared to be going on the DJ plays another song for us it’s ”One Time”. We were like YESSS!! The DJ saw that we are having so much fun and hands me the microphone . I was a little embarrassed but Alyssa and I were like who cares, lets sing this thing!!! No ones really paying attention to us. haha.  No one prepared us for what was about to happen.  While we were in our own little world singing and dancing I feel this person dancing behind me and I KNEW it wasn’t Alyssa. There were only “adults” at this wedding so I immediately think it’s “mustache man” who was dancing directly behind me. It scared me SO bad that I instinctively jumped back…like NO mustache man, get out! lol. I look, and its freakin’ JUSTIN BIEBER!!  If my calculations are correct this would make a total of about 10 heart-attacks that boy has given me if that’s even possible. In my mind I was like “again?!” “How are you here?!?!” “What’s happening?!?!” “WHATTT?!?!” Did Ellen set this up???. I said “Oh my God!” and put my hand over my mouth.  He scared me so bad! He was like “Ohh, hey”…all casual like no big deal…and gave me a hug. My cousin Alyssa starts screaming. Justin says to me ”How are you”. I’m like “ummm uhhh ummm good” (why cant I just answer him back like a normal person? haha). He like casts this spell on you and I become this speachless person that I’m so not. Trying my hardest to keep focused,  I continue on singing because Justin looks at me like “Keep going”. Justin then starts to dougie! I somehow pull myself together and dougie with him. By this time everyone at the wedding had received the memo that Justin Bieber had crashed the wedding and they start crowding around. Selena was there cracking up on the side. The DJ then plays ”OLLG”. I try to give Justin the microphone and I think he was embarrassed because he didn’t want to take over the party. We laughed then  I asked him, “What are you doing here?” He was like “We were just strolling on the beach and we heard someone singing my song”. I was like “Really?.. You came to my house, remember?”. Justin said ”Ohh yeah, you’re Paige!”. I was like “YEAAA!”. Then being the respectful person he is, Justin asked, “Have you met my girlfriend?” He smiled. He lead me through the crowd and introduced me to Selena.  There she was even more beautiful in person and so so adorable. I hugged her. Then she says, “We heard his music so we came”. Then we stayed with Selena while Justin walked over to congratulate the bride and groom and pose for some photos . We kept talking with Selena. Everyone seemed really happy to see Justin and Selena. Being respectful Justin says, “Thanks, we have to go now”. Selena and Justin smiled and waved good-bye to me and Alyssa. The whole wedding is in complete shock. Seriously, what were the chances of that happening? Like 0 to infinity? Alyssa and I run down the hill to the wood fence facing the ocean. We threw our hands up the the sky and yell, “THANK YOU GOD!!!!!”. We continued screaming and laughing our heads off. My cousin Alyssa lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She is also a huge Justin Bieber fan and never thought she would ever meet Justin. She ended up needing her asthma inhaler because she was crying so hard and couldn’t breathe. I was like Alyssa, just take deep breaths! (I learned that method on Ellen). This was clearly a case of being in the right place at the right time. What if I didn’t go to the wedding? Would anyone have played any of Justin’s songs?  It was a crazy, very unexpected night. I go home to think about what had just happened. The only thing I could think about was how happy  Justin made everyone, my family, my little cousin and me. He makes people so happy and who does that?! What other freakin famous celebrity does that? Just Justin. He is seriously one of the most amazing people in this world. He continues to show me how bad I want to live out my dreams and how bad I want to make everyone I meet happy. I think about this experience and feel so very very blessed and thank God everyday for my life, my family and my friends. I really do hope that all Justins fans get to meet him someday. He is everything you imagined and then some. I think I would personally be jealous of someone who had the opportunity to have two huge experiences to meet Justin, but I know I would be the first to say to them, I’m so happy for you because that’s what Beliebers do. We should be happy for each other and share our experiences together . Who would of thought Justin and Selena would ever crash my cousins wedding that day? Ya not me but I’m sooo glad they did! -@paigeconway2 Talking about the wedding on  GMA More: This is the story of my VERY unexpected 2nd Bieber…
