Mariah Carey Drops Out Of Tyler Perry’s ‘For Colored Girls …’

By Jocelyn Vena Mariah Carey Photo: Johnny Nunez/WireImage Fans who have been looking forward to seeing Mariah Carey and Janet Jackson hit the big screen together for Tyler Perry’s film adaptation of Ntozake Shange’s 1975 play “For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf” will be disappointed to learn that the flick is officially one diva short. A rep for Carey confirmed to People.com that the singer decided not to appear in the flick this week, following Perry’s confirmation of the cast to MTV News in April. Her rep, Cindi Berger, gave no concrete reason her departure but said, “I’m not at liberty to discuss her personal life at this time.” Her dropping out of the film has many wondering if Carey is pregnant, a rumor that has been following her around since she married Nick Cannon two years ago. That rumor has to date not been confirmed. Shooting for the film is expected to take place in New York City this summer, and the film will hit theaters in late 2010 or early 2011. Earlier this year, Perry (and Janet Jackson) listed the names of the women attached to the movie, which at the time included Carey. “It’s Janet, Mariah, Whoopi Goldberg, Phylicia Rashad, Jurnee Smollett, Kimberly Elise, Kerry Washington, Loretta Devine, Anika Noni Rose … I don’t want to forget anybody,” Perry said. “It’s pretty incredible.” “For Colored Girls …” is based on a series of 20 poems about a woman who is identified with a single color of the rainbow. The stories deal with a wide spectrum of topics including love, abandonment, rape and abortion. Life has definitely been a rollercoaster for Ronan Keating . Just days after being kicked out of the family home…the Irish singer got back on stage at a gig in Switzerland over the weekend. This was the first live performance for the Boyzone star since announcing the break-up between he and his wife Yvonne after 12 years of marriage. Despite his troubled personal life, Ronan was forced to perform at the concert because of contractual issues and apparently told pals it was the hardest thing he ever had to do knowing the mess he’d left behind.

Kendra Wilkinson has made a sex tape in which she strips down and gets penetrated on video by an ex-boyfriend. As you might expect, husband Hank Baskett has reportedly reacted negatively to this news. So… what can Kendra do to make it up to her man? That’s easy: have more sex, of course! Breaking news, folks : Kim Kardashian has been cheated on, Tori Spelling isn’t thin – and you can have arms that don’t jiggle!!! The latest issue of Life & Style claims Wilkinson has come up with a plan to make Baskett forget about her on-camera exploits with someone else. The pair will simply procreate again. “They’ve been trying for a second child for a while. And Kendra hopes it will happen sooner rather than later,” said a source. “Kendra knows she upset Hank over all this sex tape stuff, and she wants it all to go away. “Focusing on another baby would help. Plus, it would make for more great TV for the show.” Wait, is this insider implying that Kendra exploits her personal life for fame, fortune and ratings?!? For shame!

Sandra Bullock Is Asked To Return Razzie Statue

The co-founder of the Razzie Awards, John Wilson, has appealed to the media to ask Sandra Bullock to return the award which she had won last month for Worst Actress. According to Wilson, they are ready to take the new step of asking a winner to return a Razzie. It has nothing to do with what’s happening to Sandra’s personal life, the judges only wanted the actual trophy back. During the ceremony, it seemed that they got so caught up in the moment that instead of giving the actress the intentionally cheap, spray-painted replica of the award costs only $4.79 that all winners receive, the Razzie organizers unknowingly handed Bullock the original 30-year-old trophy. Wilson explained that during that time, Bullock was in such a rush that after winning the Worst Actress she ran off bringing with her the original handmade prototype which has been used and presented at ceremonies since 1980s. However, Wilson didn’t ask Bullock to return the award personally because he wants to respect the privacy of the actress amid the recent marital troubles she’s into right now. Poor Merliee Gerth can’t comprehend that Jesse James, who had at least four other mistresses in addition to wife Sandra Bullock, would dare cheat on her . And you think you know someone … James’ fifth alleged mistress often found him cheating on her with other women. It always sucks to be the other other other other woman, doesn’t it? Merilee Geeth would go into his office on the weekend and Jesse would be “fooling around” with another girl. This apparently left Merilee “shocked.” Note to Merliee Gerth: Imagine how Sandra Bullock feels! Merliee expressed her frustration with Jesse, saying: “Jesse doesn’t know anything about me … he is so selfish that even if I wanted to talk to him about my personal life, he wouldn’t be interested.” Boo hoo, Merliee. Did you forget that YOU are the home-wrecker? At least one of Tiger Woods’ mistresses incomprehensibly said the same thing. You girls are mad you’re not the only mistress? Really? You are sleeping with a married man. Why would he be loyal to you in the least? Talk about delusional. At least Michelle “Bombshell” McGee admits she sold out James for money and claims she didn’t know he was married.

Taylor Swift Remains Awesome, Plans New Album

Taylor Swift enjoyed a ridiculously successful 2009. Her achievement on the music charts and in various award categories earned the artist the number-seven ranking in our Celebrity of the Year rundown. But Swift has remained quiet for the first quarter of 2010, hanging out with friends and possibly dating Glee star Cory Monteith. Featured in the latest issue of Vogue , though, Taylor reveals plans to release a new album this fall. Similar her previous CD, this one will focus on the singer’s personal life, which has has changed a lot since she was 16. “I don’t think I could put on a new character for two years of my life if it wasn’t really what I was going through,” she told the magazine. “I have these formulas for making music; they’re almost mathematical: Who are you today? What did you write about in your diary? What idea hit you at 4:00 A.M.?” Taylor is also moving into a new home in Nashville, but says it isn’t a mansion. (“I didn’t want to have to MapQuest to get to the kitchen.”) Through all her success and worldwide acclaim, she sounds as grounded and humble as ever. “Looking back on what these past two years have been for me, it feels like this magical dream of, Really ? We toured all over the world? We played an arena in London? This is happening? Readjusting my goals and dreams has been something I’ve had to do a lot lately.”

Dr. Conrad Murray Facing Civil, Criminal Woes

As we previously reported, Dr. Conrad Murray is the subject of a wrongful death lawsuit, in addition to criminal charges (manslaughter) regarding Michael Jackson. The embattled former physician of the late icon has thus retained a civil lawyer, Charles Peckham, who handles medical board cases and wrongful death lawsuits. His criminal defense is likely based on these claims about Jackson . His civil defense is likely to fall along similar lines, but there is the matter of who’s paying for it. The lawyer has been in touch with Dr. Murray’s malpractice insurance carrier, which has revealed a particularly tricky situation, even by Conrad Murray standards. Apparently, Dr. Murray had a malpractice policy issued in Texas that covered his medical practices in Texas and Nevada … but of course, MJ died in California . Murray did not have a medical practice in California, which is a prerequisite for his malpractice coverage, even though he treated Jackson almost exclusively there. So Dr. Murray’s defense is that he first saw Michael Jackson as a Nevada patient and what he did for him in L.A. was merely an extension of the Nevada treatment. Whether that holds up under examination by the legal system remains to be seen, but it’s crucial because malpractice policy covers civil litigation, but not criminal. In the event the doctor is sued for wrongful death, and Joe Jackson will do the honors, Murray expects the policy would cover attorney’s fees and any judgment. We suspect the insurance company will argue otherwise. Murray is expected to argue that Michael killed himself with Propofol and the doctor is not responsible.

Merilee Gerth, a former V.P. of West Coast Choppers, is the latest woman to allege an affair with Jesse James, and she says she’s got proof that it went down. Nasty proof. In electronic and physical forms. Gerth has two kids, a good job at a financial firm and a T-shirt with a certain fluid that triggered the big settlement she received in a sexual harassment suit. Jesse James was clearly not a very careful cheater, having emailed Merilee Gerth like a madman with explicit content. But it was the t-shirt that did him in. “Jesse and Merilee dated before he met Sandra Bullock , so he said it was an old shirt from back then,” a source said. “But Merilee was able to prove by the design and make of the shirt that it was current and didn’t exist back when they dated.” Bill Clinton can relate, man. Sandra Bullock’s husband Merilee showed other women his Gerth. After allegedly being fired unfairly from West Coast Choppers, Merilee hired (who else) Gloria Allred and went after Jesse James claiming sexual harassment. Long before the current cheating scandal exploded, Gerth nearly exposed his philandering ways. The harassment case was settled out of court for $725,000 . Once Merilee Gerth threatened Jesse James with the lawsuit, a friend says, “Jesse would come by her house all the time looking for her, trying to convince her to drop the lawsuit idea. Merilee became really intimidated and afraid of him.” In an email of Merilee’s obtained by Radar Online, the mistress makes it a point to bring up the fact that Jesse was just using her for sexual satisfaction: “Jesse doesn’t know anything about me because he is so selfish that even if I wanted to talk to him about my personal life, he wouldn’t be interested.” The jackass has already been linked to Michelle “Bombshell” McGee , Melissa Smith, Brigitte Daguerre and some other woman who didn’t reveal herself. ‘Will & Grace’ Actor Sean Hayes Opens Up About His Sexuality

Carter Sean Hayes Photo: Kevin Parry/ Getty Images Sean Hayes, who famously played the over-the-top sidekick on NBC’s “Will & Grace,” told — well, strongly hinted to, at least — The Advocate that he’s gay. He joked throughout the interview, saying, “That song! So romantic for our interview!” when a Frank Sinatra tune came on. He later said — after the interviewer ordered the same dish he did — “It must be a gay thing: the pasta with chicken. It’s all the craze!” He was a little more straightforward when he said, “I am who I am. I was never in, as they say. Never.” Hayes also took the gay media to task for criticizing actors who aren’t 100 percent open about their sexuality. “I feel like I’ve contributed monumentally to the success of the gay movement in America, and if anyone wants to argue that, I’m open to it,” he said. “What more do you want me to do? Do you want me to stand on a float? And then what? It’s never enough.” It’s been nearly four years since the sitcom ended, and now the 39-year-old is preparing to make his Broadway debut in the first revival of the 1968 musical “Promises, Promises.” For years, Hayes was mum about his sexual orientation, despite co-starring in the gay romantic comedy “Billy’s Hollywood Screen Kiss” and, later, “Will & Grace.” In interviews, he would deliver stock answers like “When I play a gay character, I want to be as believable as possible. And when I’m playing a straight character, I also want to be as believable as possible. So the less that people know about my personal life, the more believable I can be as a character.”
