Geert Wilders speaks at the 911 FDI/SIOA Rally of Remembrance

Geert Wilders, personifies moral courage in an age when such courage is an extremely rare commodity the possession of which can threaten one's life. He is one of the few who truly deserve the label of hero, he is my personal hero, — and yet it must be said that all he has done to become heroic is something that we all can do, should do, and must do: he has spoken the truth. We live in so cheap and tawdry an age that all one must do to be a hero is speak the truth — and yet there are so few heroes. Geert Wilders is that hero. He has done this at immense personal cost, such that he now must be accompanied by armed guards at all times. One would think that the constant threats made against Geert Wilders would wake people up to the true nature and lethal character of the enemy we face, when they are so threatened by the telling of the truth that they're willing to commit murder in response. Yet even as Geert Wilders is defamed, vilified, and marginalized, he is being proven right by the events of every day — and the light of the truth he tells shines more brightly all the time. added by: crystalman

Linkin Park’s Surprise VMA Location: Story Behind Griffith Park Observatory

Location has been featured in dozens of films, TV shows and music videos, including Adam Lambert’s ‘If I Had You.’ By Kara Warner Linkin Park performs at the 2010 VMAs Photo: MTV It’s fair to say that Linkin Park ‘s VMA performance of their hit “The Catalyst” at the Griffith Park Observatory was pretty epic. Naturally, the band’s killer rock stylings were a major part of the effect, but the historic scenery definitely enhanced the experience. For astute pop culture fanatics out there, if you feel like you’ve seen the picturesque setting before, you have — especially if you’ve seen “Transformers” or Adam Lambert’s music video for “If I Had You.” The Griffith Park Observatory is so named for Col. Griffith J. Griffith, an eccentric and generous early L.A. land baron, who bequeathed the land upon which the landmark now sits to the city of Los Angeles in 1896. The historic site is a popular tourist destination for its science- and space-related exhibits, but also because it has been featured in dozens of films, TV shows and music videos. Old-school classics filmed here include “Rebel Without a Cause,” “Back to the Future,” “Who Framed Roger Rabbit,” “The Rocketeer” and Paula Abdul’s video for “Rush Rush.” More recently, “Transformers,” “Yes Man,” “Funny People,” the TV series “24,” “Beverly Hills 90210,” “The Simpsons” and Lambert’s “If I Had You” have included footage from the historic site. Versions of the GP Observatory are also featured in the video games “Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas,” “Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines” and “Future Cop: LAPD.” In addition to the landmark’s pop culture ties, the Griffith Park Observatory’s planetarium was used to train pilots in celestial navigation during World War II, and again in the ’60s to train Apollo program astronauts for the first lunar missions. The observatory underwent a major renovation from 2002 to 2006 and now features an expanded exhibit space, the Leonard Nimoy Event Horizon Theater and Wolfgang Puck’s Caf

Although it was a major win for the Detroit MC, Em wasn’t able to accept the award as presenters Katy Perry and Nicki Minaj revealed that he had already left the building and was on a plane to New York. “All right you guys, sit down. Eminem just left the building. He had to catch a flight to go back to New York to perform with Jigga man,” Minaj said referring to the two rappers’ Home and Home tour, which resumes on Monday on Tuesday. In the Rich Lee-directed clip, Eminem takes a journey through the streets of Newark, New Jersey, where he reflects on his personal tribulations. Amanda Bynes’ Twitter Account Deleted

The actress’ social-networking account, on which she once tweeted her retirement, has been canceled. By Mawuse Ziegbe Amanda Bynes Photo: Michael Buckner/ Getty Images Amanda Bynes’ on-and-off relationship with Twitter appears to have reached a low point. The Twitter account @chicky, which the actress famously used to overshare and rant about her personal and professional life, has been deleted. Bynes, who has sent out childhood pics and declared her very specific taste in men on her Twitter page, famously tweeted her retirement from Hollywood in June . “I don’t love acting anymore, so I’ve stopped doing it,” the starlet wrote at the time. “I know 24 is a young age to retire but you heard it here first I’ve #retired.” Bynes’ announcement came as a shock to her rep, who was blindsided by the news after speaking to her client days earlier and noting she “sounded great.” However, the actress had a change of heart and took to her Twitter page about a month later to reveal she was back on the scene, writing, “I’ve unretired.” This latest move could be related to a desire Bynes’ once expressed about keeping a safe distance from the sometimes harsh glare of the spotlight. “I don’t want to have my face on everything. I just don’t want to be some young brat who is everywhere,” a then-18-year-old Bynes told MTV News in 2005. “It sickens me.” The young actress also copped to not always being on the same page as her Hollywood peers. “I don’t really relate to that many people who are my age, especially in this business.” Fans may not be getting updates about her fluctuating retirement status anymore, but moviegoers will be able to catch Bynes in the upcoming flick “Easy A.” The actress plays a judgmental teen out to ruin the life of a faux good-time girl in the high school comedy, which hits theaters September 17. Congressman Ron Paul Hints At 2012 Presidential Campaign

Texas Congressman Ron Paul has hinted that he is strongly considering another Presidential run in 2012. Paul, who previously ran for the Republican nomination in 2008 and under the Libertarian Party in 1988, told an interviewer that “It’s something I think about every single day,”. The Congressman’s comments came during an interview with his former House colleague, Bob Bauman, legal counsel for The Sovereign Society – an independent investment advisory group. Paul said it would “be a tough decision”, but that he believes the American people are ready to embrace a new political direction. The comments have not been picked by by mainstream media sources as of yet. The Congressman has previously downplayed rumors of another Presidential campaign, saying it is unlikely. However, following a string of successes in recent surveys and straw polls, including victory in the Conservative Political Action Conference’s (CPAC) presidential straw poll, it seems Paul is now reconsidering his earlier statements. The full Sovereign Society interview with Ron Paul can be heard here (registration required). Paul’s comments add weight to more recent rumblings that he may once again pick up the presidential campaign mantle in 2012. Earlier this year the Congressman’s wife, Carol, stated “If you would ask him now he would probably say ‘no’, but he did say…things are happening so quickly and fast in our country, if we’re at a crisis period and they need someone…with the knowledge he has…then he would do it.” Jesse Benton, Senior VP of Paul’s advocacy group Campaign for Liberty, has said of the prospective run: “If the decision had to be made today, it would be ‘no’, but he is considering it very strongly and there is a decent likelihood that he will. A lot of it depends on things going on in his personal life and also what’s going on in the country.” At the height of Paul’s 2008 campaign, dubbed the Ron Paul Revolution by supporters, the Congressman smashed the all-time record for political donations on one day, beating John Kerry’s previous effort as he hauled in over $6 million dollars during a 24-hour period that coincided with the 234th anniversary of the Boston Tea Party. Indeed, as we have continuously highlighted, The Tea Party movement, originally Libertarian in origin, grew out of this trend of honouring the anniversary of the Boston Tea Party. An event held in 2006 was repeated in 2007 with the Ron Paul Money bomb, and the movement evolved from there over the following three years. As part of an effort to encourage Ron Paul to run for president in 2012, a Tea Party moneybomb has been set up with the aim of repeating those previous successes. The goal of The Ron Paul Tea Party is to have 100,000 people donate $100 each on December 16, 2010 to kick off Paul’s 2012 presidential bid, should he decide to run. Infowars’ Alex Jones has personally pledged support to the Draft Ron Paul movement, noting that Paul is the only candidate who will inject real issues into an otherwise sterile debate format and that everything he has been warning the American people about for decades is coming into fruition as we approach 2012. Whether neocon and corporate Republicans like it or not, Ron Paul has had and continues to have a far reaching impact upon the direction of the party. Every rare intelligible thing that Sarah Palin has said regarding limited government, fiscal economic policy and the restoration of freedom is taken straight from the Ron Paul handbook. The core difference between Paul and Palin is that the Congressman has built a real grass roots following over the course of several decades. Paul is the real deal, while Palin, Romney, McCain and Gingrich, on the other hand are all neocons at the core, supporting the invasion and occupation of sovereign nations in step with the grossly bloated empire building military industrial complex. Never pandering to the crowds, Paul has consistently hammered home this key difference. Of the current crop of possible 2012 GOP presidential candidates, Ron Paul is once again the only one truly in step with the majority anti-war, anti-big government sentiment in America. The Texas Congressman has also been instrumental in leading a grass roots revolt against the real culprits behind the economic collapse, the Federal Reserve, introducing a bill to audit the private organization which has received widespread support from both Republicans and Democrats but has been fought at every turn by elitists in Washington. If you thought the impact of the Ron Paul Revolution in 2007 and 2008 was damaging to the new world order agenda, then imagine what kind of momentum could be built up over the next few years as we head towards 2012, which globalists have marked down as a key juncture by which they want their global feudalist system firmly in place. It almost seems like fate that the Congressman should lead the mass resistance to the globalist agenda at this crucial time in history, and we implore him to take on that hefty responsibility while guaranteeing that the grass roots will rally behind him with a ferocity never before seen in recent political times. added by: im1mjrpain

Eminem’s ‘Not Afraid’ Comeback Video Pulls Him Back From The Edge

The Shady One lands squarely on his feet in VMA Video of the Year-nominated clip. By Jayson Rodriguez Eminem Photo: Michael Caulfield/ WireImage Eminem was on edge after the release of his Relapse album, his first project after a five-year layoff during which he battled depression and drug dependency. The stakes were high for the Shady One, and although Relapse landed atop the charts — and scored the biggest-selling rap release of 2009 — the heralded Detroit lyricist received lukewarm reviews for the collection. So yes, he was back but, in a sense, he hadn’t quite made his return. But then he unleashed a vicious freestyle while visiting Tim Westwood in the U.K., and followed that up with his dominating verse on Drake’s superstar-laden “Forever” collabo. Ahead of the release of Recovery, Em dropped his official comeback anthem, the reflective “Not Afraid.” With the “Not Afraid” video , he cemented his comeback. The clip has earned Eminem three heavy-duty 2010 MTV Video Music Award nominations : Best Male Video, Best Hip-Hop Video, and Video of the Year. Directed by Rich Lee, the clip balances the darkness of Eminem’s struggle with flashes of light that ultimately lift the rapper to new heights. The video opens with Em standing on the edge of nondescript office building. As he begins his rhymes, the video quickly cuts back and forth between Em spitting on top of the building and in the bowels of a dark basement. “You can try and read my lyrics off of this paper before I lay ’em,” he raps. “But you won’t take this thing out these words before I say ’em/ ‘Cause ain’t no way I’mma let you stop me from causing mayhem/ When I say ’em or do something I do it, I don’t give a damn.” Filmed in Newark, New Jersey, Eminem ventures from the basement to the busy streets of Brick City and crosses a dense multilane street. It’s almost as if the heavy-traffic crossing symbolizes Eminem’s clouded mind during his darker days. He makes it across the street and later bursts through a broken window to his personal light. The visual is a stirring narrative and culminates with Eminem flying up in the air, landing on top of the building from the beginning of the clip. He’s no longer on the edge, but overlooking his new beginning. The 27th annual MTV Video Music Awards will be broadcast live from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday. The party starts with MTV News’ VMA Pre-Show at 8 p.m., followed by the main event at 9 p.m. ET. Fans can go to VMA.MTV.com (or text VMA to 97979 if they are Verizon subscribers) to vote for Best New Artist from now through Sunday. Amy Winehouse To Appear On Quincy Jones Tribute Album

Singer has teamed up with Mark Ronson to re-record the 1963 hit ‘It’s My Party’ for Q: Soul Bossa Nostra. By Mawuse Ziegbe Quincy Jones’ new album, Q: Soul Bossa Nostra Photo: Rogers & Cowan Amy Winehouse achieved global fame by layering candid, contemporary lyricism over throwback, doo-wop sounds. Now she’s putting those powerhouse vocals and her affinity for retro rhythms to use for her latest foray back into the spotlight. The U.K. singer will contribute a track to Q: Soul Bossa Nostra, a tribute album celebrating the work of legendary producer and musician Quincy Jones. Winehouse has hooked up with British producer Mark Ronson, who crafted the infectious old-school groove of her sophomore release, Back to Black. For the new project, the duo revamped the playful, if pouty, “It’s My Party,” the 1963 Lesley Gore hit produced by Jones. “Amy and I are both incredibly honoured and excited to be recording this song for Quincy. The regard she holds him in is second to none,” Ronson said in a statement released Wednesday (September 8). “We’ve gone back and forth on this track, fixing and improving it until we were satisfied it was good enough for Quincy.” Jones appeared amped to welcome Winehouse and Ronson’s contribution to Q, which is slated to be released on November 9. “Amy’s talents as an artist are undisputable and I am astounded not only by her voice but by her tremendous knowledge of and respect for music and its history,” Jones said in the statement. “I am thrilled that she and Mark wanted to be a part of this album and I absolutely love what they did to make the song their own.” The Jones track is the latest step toward the limelight for Winehouse, who has battled headline-grabbing issues with drugs and divorce among other personal dramas . Earlier this year, The Roots’ ?uestlove said he and Winehouse were tinkering with a supergroup , and in July, the singer hopped onstage at a Ronson gig in London . Winehouse has also been working on solo material. When she stepped out at the July premiere of “Psychosis,” directed by new flame Reg Traviss, she said her latest album should be available by January and would revisit the well-worn sounds of her previous effort. “It’s going to be very much the same as my second album, where there’s a lot of jukebox stuff and the songs that are … just jukebox, really.” Are you looking forward to Winehouse’s return to music?
