Kate Middleton’s Princess To Be Bikini Pictures

Prince William and his girlfriend Kate Middleton have been all over the news lately because of their engagement, so I thought I’d open up the old archives and rehash some sweet bikini pictures of the soon to be Princess. Here she is hosing herself down in a little white bikini on an expensive yacht. That’s it Princess, clean yourself up for daddy. I like the sounds of that.

Jay-Z’s ‘Decoded’: The Five Most Revealing Excerpts

Jay touches on miscarriage, his assault charge, Bono and more in the memoir/ lyrical breakdown. By Hillary Crosley, with additional reporting by Rahman Dukes Jay-Z Photo: Kevin Mazur/ WireImage On Tuesday (November 16), Jay-Z released his book “Decoded,” explaining the history behind some of his most infamous lines. MTV News took a peek at the collection and selected a few topics and metaphors that surprised even us, the most avid of Hov followers: Jay-Z on Bono Jay-Z’s larger-than-life influence has reached far beyond the realm of hip-hop. The MC has been closely affiliated with some of pop music’s biggest entertainers, including Linkin Park, Coldplay’s Chris Martin and U2 frontman Bono. Early in “Decoded,” Jay elaborated on his relationship with Bono and his first impressions of the singer. “The writer had asked me about the U2 record that was about to be released and I said something about the kind of pressure a group like that must be under just to meet their own standard. Bono told me that my quote had really gotten to him. In fact, he said it got him a little anxious. He decided to go back to the studio even though the album was already done and keep reworking it till he thought it was as good as it could possibly be.” Jay-Z on MC Hammer Several weeks ago, Jay unintentionally offended MC Hammer on Kanye West’s “I’m So Appalled.” “I lost 30 mill so I spent another 30/ ‘Cause unlike Hammer, 30 mill can’t hurt me,” Jay spits on the track. Hammer’s response included a music video that depicted Hov as a devil worshiper being chased through a forest by Satan himself. Jay responded to the barrage of disses saying that Hammer might regret his actions after he paid homage to him in his book. Well, here’s what he had to say in “Decoded.” “I remember when Hammer was the biggest star in the world, in the eighties. There were a lot of people who clowned him because of the big pants and the dancing, like he was the rapper from Disney World. But Hammer was from East Oakland. Even when he was spinning around with his pants billowing all around him, you could see in his eyes that this was still a n—a from the hood. So when he was in Forbes magazine with eight figures after his name, big pants and all, I was impressed. It was a huge moment for hip-hop. A few years later, Hammer was filing for bankruptcy.” Jay-Z on his assault charge In another section of “Decoded,” Jay highlights various rappers who have endured run-ins with the law following their success. But before their fame, these MCs barely earned a traffic ticket. And for a guy who transported enough drugs to make B.M.F.’s Big Meech blush without any police drama, Jay nearly saw his career derailed after a violent assault. The incident swirled around the release of his prized Vol. 3 … Life and Times of S. Carter album, which leaked a month early. “People kept giving me the same name as the source of the bootlegging. It was someone I knew, someone I never would have suspected. One night I went to Q-Tip’s solo album release party and at some point in the night, I ran into the guy everyone’s been telling me is behind the bootleg. So I approached him. When I told him what I suspected, to my surprise, he got real loud with me right there in the middle of the club. It was strange. We separated and I went over to the bar. I was sitting there like, ‘No the f— this n—a did not … ” I was talking to people, but I was really talking to myself out loud, just in a state of shock. Before I even realized what I was doing, I headed back over to him, but this time I was blacking out with anger. The next thing I knew, all hell had broken loose in the club. That night the guy went straight to the police and I was charged with assault.” Jay-Z on a girlfriend’s miscarriage In part four of “Decoded,” Jay explains a line from “This Can’t Be Life” featuring Beanie Sigel and Geto Boyz icon Scarface. In the lyric, Hov says, “Baby came out stillborn, still I gotta move on” which is a direct contradiction to the way the MC handles his personal life now. Helicopters could hardly get a shot of his and Beyonc

Does Power Breed Hypocrisy?

It seems every few weeks a new story hits the headlines exposing a politician for some misstep in his personal life that contradicts the “family values” campaign on which he was elected. Perplexed by these double standards, a team of professors from the Netherlands and Illinois conducted a series of five experiments and found that when everyday people are put into positions of power, they are prone to increased moral hypocrisy. The five experiments the professors devised ran through different morality-testing scenarios such as stealing a bicycle and evading taxes. Each scenario led to a common conclusion: while leaders hold their followers to high standards, they are not nearly as strict when it comes to their own personal behavior. The participants assigned the most powerful status indicated they would look down on others the most for fudging numbers for financial gain. Participants were told that for helping with the experiment, they could enter a lottery to win a prize. Participants privately rolled dice to determine the number of lottery tickets they would win (more tickets, more chances to win). The high-power participants also won the highest number of lottery tickets, indicating that they in fact cheated to gain more lottery tickets. Meaning the high-power participants judged others harshly for cheating, and then turned around and cheated themselves. Another interesting result came from fifth experiment in the research study, wherein the subjects indicated their own power status as well as whether they deserved this position of power. The powerful individuals who genuinely believed they earned their status by far exhibited the most moral hypocrisy. Psychology Today offers two possible explanations for this phenomenon. First, leaders can “delude themselves that they are working for the greater good” and consequently make exceptions for themselves. Second, politicians recognize that they are able to get away with misdeeds, so they opt to take advantage of their position’s privileges. Fear of losing power could be the key to keeping the powerful honest. The researchers found the only way to force a person of power to be honest was if “if the powerful sense that their unrestrained self-enrichment leads to gossiping, derision, and the undermining of their reputation.” Why are people more likely to cut themselves some slack when they are in a leadership position? Perhaps, nothing reminds your ego how powerful you are than when you break the rules. Lyfe Jennings Reportedly Sentenced To Three Years In Jail

R&B singer was arrested in 2008 for fleeing the scene after a dispute with the mother of his child. By Mawuse Ziegbe Lyfe Jennings Photo: Bennett Raglin/ WireImage R&B singer Lyfe Jennings is heading to jail for three years, according to reports. The artist was due to perform in Seattle on Tuesday, but the show was abruptly canceled before Jennings was sentenced to three and a half years in Atlanta on Wednesday (September 22), according to Seattle Weekly. The sentence stems from an altercation Jennings had with the mother of his child in 2008 . The singer kicked down the door of a house in Smyrna, Georgia, in an attempt to find Joy Pound and later fired a gun outside. Smyrna police saw a red 2005 Corvette fleeing the scene, and Jennings was caught after a high-speed chase that ended when the singer smashed the vehicle. He refused a sobriety test. Jennings was handed misdemeanor charges of criminal trespass, discharging a firearm near a public highway and refusal to take a DUI test, in addition to two felony counts of attempting to elude an officer and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Jennings’ label offered no comment by press time. On Tuesday, Jennings posted a vague message on his Twitter account announcing he would no longer be writing on the micro-blogging site. “This will be my last post. To everyone who gave me a chance I am forever in your debt. I have had a fabulous career because of you. All I can say in parting is that I have been honest with yaw. I didn’t sugarcoat a word didn’t hold back a single sylible of my life from yaw,” Jennings said. “I’ve lived a hundred lives in these 6 yrs so I not only won’t, I don’t have the right to complain. I would like to think that I’ve changed lives by changing my own, tho I can’t be sure. But one thing I am sure of is God gives and takes away in measure. He is fair, just and forever. Amen from aman… Smile, it’s contageous:)” Jennings was sentenced to 10 years for felony arson before gaining acclaim after his wins at the famed amateur night at New York’s Apollo Theater. His 2004 debut, Lyfe 268-192, went platinum, and he’s known for hits like “S.E.X.” and “Never Never Land.” He released his latest LP, I Still Believe, in August, a project he dubbed his “final” album. In a press release for the album, Jennings explained that the title reflects his resilience despite his personal trials. “It’s tragic; I think I have a horribly charmed life,” Jennings said. “But I think God puts me through stuff and keeps me there so I can talk about it.” Related Artists Lyfe Jennings

Jimmy Carter Talks Tea Party And Masturbation On Daily Show

When Bill Clinton appeared on the Daily Show last week, he kept things all business, giving an intricate discussion of the ways America can fix its economy. His Democratic presidential predecessor however, was there to have fun. Jimmy Carter, promoting his new book White House Diary, was jovial from the beginning, telling Jon Stewart that he was looking forward to the Rally to Restore Sanity. He even joined in on the media’s favorite pastime of the moment; making fun of Christine O’Donnell. Stewart asked Carter if, looking over his old diary entries, he felt hope in the direction the country was going. Carter responded with a quick “no,” citing the polarization of the nation which he partly blamed on Fox News. However, he then made a point of comparing himself as a candidate to the Tea Party of today, saying he “occupied the same position,” that of being a “fresh face” going up against the establishment. Still, though, he made an important differentiation between himself and the movement; he’s never dabbled in witchcraft. If that wasn’t enough, Carter then told Stewart he had “one more confession to make.” Looking the host in the eye, Carter told him that, as a young man, he was not “100% against…” Stewart silenced him before he could finish the sentence. No matter what you feel about Jimmy Carter, how many other 85 year old former presidents are going to go on comedy shows and discuss their personal histories with…being personal? I mean, sure, Rutherford B. Hayes would have if television had been invented (legend has it that the hair on his palms were as bushy as his beard), but that’s about it. So kudos to you, Jimmy Carter! added by: TimALoftis

HLN’s Joy Behar Reiterates O’Donnell Bashing, Advises Nominee to See a Psychotherapist

Comedian Joy Behar repeated her ‘View’ tirade against Christine O’Donnell on her eponymous HLN network program yesterday, denouncing the Delaware Republican Senate nominee as “crazy” and suggesting she should see a psychotherapist. “You know, I’m not a shrink, but this is the crazy train this girl is on,” chortled Behar, who also belittled O’Donnell on ABC’s “The View” yesterday. After maligning O’Donnell’s character, Behar suggested the social conservative could benefit from therapy: “I believe in psychotherapy. Maybe she should go to a shrink.” Behar’s guest, psychotherapist Robi Ludwig, did not take the bait: “I don’t know that much about her. But we also need to allow people to change as they grow. Express themselves when they’re young, make mistakes and change their point of view. Do we really think that she’s into witchcraft? I don’t really buy it.” Lisa Bloom, Behar’s other guest, was equally unwilling to contribute to the personal attacks: “If you haven’t done something a little wacky in your youth, then I think there’s something wrong with you.” The same comedian who believes liberals are more open-minded than conservatives dismissed outsiders like O’Donnell who are defeating the political establishment in primaries across the country: “Nobody normal seems to be running these days. There’s crazies around.” A transcript of the relevant portion of the segment can be found below: HLN Joy Behar September 20, 2010 9:08 P.M. E.S.T. JOY BEHAR: You know, I’m not a shrink, but this is the crazy train this girl is on. ROBI LUDWIG, psychotherapist and Care.com contributor: Yes. BEHAR: Robi, I mean — LUDWIG: Did she do that after denouncing masturbation? I don’t know. BEHAR: Yes. But you know, we’re laughing at this, but this woman could be a — GLENDA HATCHETT, judge: A senator. BEHAR: A senator from Delaware, Joe Biden’s state. Ok. (CROSSTALK) BEHAR: I mean it’s scary in a certain weird way. LUDWIG: It is a little scary, but also she did this when she was young. And I think we need to allow — I’m not saying her judgment is good — I don’t know her. I don’t know that much about her. But we also need to allow people to change as they grow. Express themselves when they’re young, make mistakes and change their point of view. Do we really think that she’s into witchcraft? I don’t really buy it. BEHAR: No, it’s a silly thing. It’s silly season for this girl. Lisa, is this worse than the anti-masturbation video she put out? Because that could hurt her politically too. LISA BLOOM, attorney: You know this is the first interesting thing I’ve heard about her. If you haven’t done something a little wacky in your youth, then I think there’s something wrong with you. She dabbled in satanic rituals and witchcraft. Ok.. Now she seems more like a human being to me. It’s the masturbation stuff I just can’t grasp at all. BEHAR: Really? What were you up to in high school, Lisa? What were you dabbling in? BLOOM: My mother would kill me if I told you on national TV. BEHAR: What about you girls? Do you have any dabbles? HATCHETT: Listen, I was a juvenile court judge. I’ll never fess up. LUDWIG: You’re smart. Twitter or Facebook didn`t exist when I was a girl. That’s all I’m saying. HATCHETT: The guys I used to date – oh, my mercy. BEHAR: But you know what, Robi? Nobody normal seems to be running these days. There’s crazies around. LUDWIG: Well, who is not crazy? BEHAR: I don`t want them representing me. HATCHETT: Right. BEHAR: I believe in psychotherapy. Maybe she should go to a shrink. LUDWIG: Maybe and I’m available, but I think also we know a lot more about people than now than we did in the past. And maybe we’re just finding out – BEHAR: I mean here’s a girl. She’s been abstinent. She’s 41 years old, according to her, abstinence make the heart grow fonder. And she doesn’t masturbate. And yet she’s going to make public policy about sexual behavior in the country. LUDWIG: Well, she denounced it. Whether she hasn’t done it is another story. BEHAR: We don’t know. LUDWIG: That’s very interesting. BEHAR: She should come on my show and talk to me about. HATCHETT: She should. BEHAR: Ok, thanks very much.

Lady Gaga Speaks Out Against ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ In Maine

‘There are amazing heroes here today whose stories are more powerful than any story I could tell,’ she tells 4,500-person crowd. By James Montgomery Lady Gaga speaks out against ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ in Maine Monday Photo: Matt Harper/ MTV News PORTLAND, Maine — It was probably the smallest stage Lady Gaga has set foot on since her East Village days, but it might have also been the most important. Because Monday (September 20), on that stage — a simple wooden thing with a brick backdrop — in Portland’s Deering Oaks Park, she spoke loudly, proudly and passionately against “don’t ask, don’t tell,” the long-standing policy that prevents openly gay men and women from serving in the Armed Forces and a policy that, on Tuesday, may very well be ancient history if the Senate approves the National Defense Authorization Act. Clearly, the stakes are high, and Gaga, ever the entertainer, was more than up to the task. Speaking before an audience of some 4,500 (mostly students from nearby colleges, activists and a few somewhat confused passersby) on behalf of the Servicemembers Legal Defense Network , she unveiled a speech titled “The Prime Rib of America” that took members of the Senate to task, urged her supporters to action and even managed to tie in rather nicely to the much-discussed “meat dress” she wore to last weekend’s MTV Video Music Awards. “My name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta. I am an American citizen … [and] to the Senate, to Americans, to Senator Olympia Snowe, Senator Susan Collins — both from Maine — and Senator Scott Brown of Massachusetts: Equality is the prime rib of America,” she said. “Equality is the prime rib of what we stand for as a nation. And I don’t get to enjoy the greatest cut of meat that my country has to offer. Are you listening? Shouldn’t everyone deserve the right to wear the same meat dress that I did? Repeal ‘don’t ask, don’t tell.’ “I’m here today in this park, in Maine, to say that, if the Senate and the president are not going to repeal this ‘don’t ask, don’t tell’ policy, perhaps they should be more clear with us about who the military is fighting for, who our tax dollars are supporting and, ultimately, how much does the prime rib cost?” she continued. “Because I thought this was an ‘all you can eat’ buffet. This equality stuff, I thought equality meant everyone. But apparently, for certain value meals, for certain civil rights, I have to pay extra, because I’m gay. … When it’s time to order my meal, when it’s time to benefit from the freedoms of the Constitution that I protect and fight for, I have to pay extra. I shouldn’t have to pay extra. I should have the ability, the opportunity, the right to enjoy the same rights — the same piece of meat — that my fellow soldiers, fellow straight soldiers, already have included in their Meal of Rights. It’s prime rib, it’s the same size, it’s the same grade, the same cost, at wholesale cost, and it’s in the Constitution.” But Gaga’s entire speech wasn’t one long meat analogy. At one point, she drew whoops of support from the crowd by suggesting that several senators — including Arizona Republican John McCain, who plans to lead a filibuster against Tuesday’s vote — were “using homophobia as a defense in their argument” and said that, rather than continue to support “don’t ask, don’t tell,” perhaps those same senators would rather support her proposed piece of legislation. “Doesn’t it seem to be that ‘don’t ask, don’t tell’ is backwards? Doesn’t it seem to you that we should send home the prejudiced? The straight soldier who hates the gay soldier? The straight soldier who has prejudice in his heart in the space where the military asks him to hold our core American values?” she asked. “I am here today because I would like to propose a new law; a law that sends home the soldier that has the problem. Our new law is called ‘if you don’t like it, go home.’ If you are not committed to perform with excellence as a United States soldier because you don’t believe in full equality, go home. If you are not honorable enough to fight without prejudice, go home. If you are not capable of keeping your oath to the Armed Forces to defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies foreign and domestic … then go home.” Earlier in the afternoon, members of the SLDN — including discharged servicemen Mike Almy and David Hall, both of whom accompanied Gaga to the VMAs — told the crowd their personal stories of unjust prosecution at the hands of “don’t ask.” Portland Mayor Nick Mavodones, who had worked directly with the organization to bring the event to his city, also expressed his distaste for the policy. But the majority of the crowd was here to see Gaga, and she delivered. There were no flashy costumes (she wore a sportcoat, power tie and glasses) or over-the-top showpieces, just one of the biggest pop stars on the planet speaking out against what she considers to be an unjust law — and, hopefully, helping to get it overturned. “There are amazing heroes here today whose stories are more powerful than any story I could tell, any fight I’ve ever fought, and any song that I could tell,” Gaga said. “I’m here because they inspire me. I’m here because I believe in them. I’m here because ‘don’t ask, don’t tell’ is wrong … it’s unjust and, fundamentally, it is against all that we stand for as Americans.” Share your thoughts on Gaga’s rally in the comments below.
