Selena Gomez: Drinking Heavily Following Kidney Transplant?

Earlier today, we reported on the news that Selena Gomez has checked into rehab  following what’s been described as an emotional breakdown. One insider state that Gomez is seeking treatment in a facility “on the east coast” in order to cope with her anxiety “over her repeated physical health issues.” Those issues include lupus and other ailments, which culminated in Gomez undergoing a kidney transplant  last year. Now, Radar Online is reporting that the singer’s loved ones are attributing her latest struggles to her “refusal to live a sober life.” The site reports that Selena’s mother, Mandy Teefey, has openly stated her desire to stage an intervention after revealing that she believes Gomez’s drinking is endangering her life. “Doctors have all told her she needs to stop,” one source claims . “Her family says she needs to stay sober, or she could die.” Gomez has not opened up about the allegations of hard partying, and it’ll likely be quite some time before she speaks on her decision to seek further treatment. She has, however, admitted that she continues to enjoy the occasional drink despite past health issues. “As far as my personal life, someone sees me having a glass of wine? I could give two sh-ts,” the singer said in a recent interview with Elle . “I’m not trying to hide. That’s my life.”  Though Gomez has been described as “stubborn” with regard to her life choices, sources say she was deeply disturbed by friend Demi Lovato’s recent overdose . One insider revealed that upon hearing the news, Gomez was not only concerned with her friend but filled with anxiety that she might suffer a similar fate. “Selena is freaking out about this,” the source said at the time. “She feels like it could have been her.” Whatever the cause of her latest upheaval, we hope Selena is able to find the help that she needs. Our thoughts go out to Gomez and her loved ones during this immensely difficult time.

Black People to Alec Baldwin: Shut the Eff Up, Dude!

Alec Baldwin is taking some heat for saying something kind of dumb to The Hollywood Reporter. Okay, actually: Alec Baldwin is taking A LOT of heat for saying something VERY dumb to The Hollywood Reporter. The actor is featured on the latest cover of this publication, touching on nearly every topic of his personal and professional life in the feature story. But it’s one story he tells in particular, along with his reaction to that story, that has nearly all of Twitter rolling its collective eyes. At one point while speaking to Baldwin, writer Lacey Rose says that an African-American man named Tyrone approaches Baldwin and compliments him for his role of Donald Trump on Saturday Night Live. Writes Rose of the encounter: “Though he’s waving and pointing and causing something of a scene, the often-irritable Baldwin doesn’t mind a bit. “In fact, he calls Tyrone over and the two begin cracking each other up. It’s hard to tell who’s enjoying the other more.” Baldwin says this sort of interaction happens “incessantly” these days, elaborating in annoying detail: I don’t know how to say this and I don’t want to get it wrong either, because everything is a minefield of bombs going off, but ever since I played Trump, black people love me. They love me. Everywhere I go, black people go crazy. I think it’s because they’re most afraid of Trump. I’m not going to paint every African-American person with the same brush, but a significant number of them are sitting there going, ‘This is going to be bad for black folks.'” Almost as soon after the article was published online Wednesday, Baldwin was met with major backlash on Twitter. He may not have wanted to paint every African-American with the same brush — but then maybe he should have tried not doing exactly that. Alec Baldwin needs to stop talking for black people , reads one tweet, while another agrees: When liberal white men get too comfortable

Git, Git, Brrahhh: Desiigner Kicked Off Scandinavian Flight For Allegedly Threatening Staff, He Asks Fans To Boycott [Video]

Not sure where the new music is that Desiigner claimed he’d be dropping in the Summer, but the “Panda” rapper is making headlines more these days for his personal drama than his music. On Monday night, he was kicked off a plane in Europe after a flight attendant allegedly put her hands on him. TMZ reports , The NYC rapper posted a series of videos Tuesday explaining a run-in he had on Scandinavian Airlines Monday night, where he says an older female flight attendant got touchy with him — which caused him to “spazz” out on her and get booted from the flight. He also says he was banned from SAS for a whole year, and goes on to call on his fans to avoid flying with them in the aftermath. Desiigner basically chalks it up to flying while black. The airline has yet to make an official statement regarding the incident, but they did tell TMZ that “some passengers behaved in a threatening manner toward the crew” and that “such behavior is unacceptable and that safety is their first priority.” Do you think the incident was race related?

Republicans Portray Maxine Waters As An Angry Black Woman Over Senators’ Data Breach

R epublicans applauded Supreme Court justice nominee Brett Kavanaugh ’s angry words during his Senate confirmation hearing but called California’s Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters an angry Black woman for denouncing allegations of her staff’s involvement in a data breach. SEE ALSO: Trump Once Again Proves He Has An Unhealthy Obsession With Maxine Waters Waters called the accusations “lies, lies and more despicable lies” that are “being pedaled by ultra-right wing pundits,” in a Twitter post on Saturday. Several right-wing sites, including the Gateway Pundit, blamed the congresswoman’s staff for adding personal information about three GOP senators to the lawmakers’ Wikipedia pages. The breach came on Thursday, hours after the Senate testimony of Christine Blasey Ford , who alleged that Kavanagh sexually assaulted her when they were in high school, the Washington Post reported. Please read my statement on false allegations regarding the leak of the personal information of U.S. Senators: pic.twitter.com/YBEekR6jBB — Maxine Waters (@RepMaxineWaters) September 29, 2018 Ari Fleischer , President George W. Bush ’s former press secretary, illustrated the double standard in a tweet that received high-fives from fellow Republicans. “This denial is angry. This suggests she doesn’t have the temperment (sic) to be a Member of Congress. When someone is accused of something they didn’t do, they must not be angry. They must not be defiant. They must not question the motives of the accuser. They must be calm and serene,” Fleischer wrote. Yet Republicans saw no problem with Kavanaugh, who could sit on the nation’s highest court for decades, defending his reputation through an angry, uncontrolled tirade. Indeed, South Carolina’s GOP Sen. Lindsey Graham also expressed his outrage at Democrats during the hearing. Waters has long been a target of Republicans because she stands up to the GOP. Supporters cheered the congresswoman for daring the president’s supporters to shoot her in an escalating dispute with  Donald Trump . “Shoot straight because there’s nothing like a wounded animal,” she said boldly at a June immigration rally in Los Angeles. Truth Or Dab: Kevin Hart And Tiffany Haddish Answer Tough Questions Or Knock Back Super Hot Wings [Video]

NEW YORK, NY – SEPTEMBER 19: Tiffany Haddish (L) and Kevin Hart attend the 2018 Urbanworld Film Festival on September 19, 2018 in New York City. (Photo by Johnny Nunez/WireImage) Night School co-stars Kevin Hart and Tiffany Haddish face off against increasingly hot wings as host Sean Evans asks tough questions about their personal lives, opinions, and celebrity encounters. Tiffany clearly has a higher tolerance for spicy food than Kevin does, and also displays an unusually efficient technique for getting ALL the meat off the wings. Kevin ends up electing to eat a wing rather than answer whether or not he eats…something else. Take a look: Getty/YouTube

Michael B. Jordan Is The New Face Of Coach Menswear

Paras Griffin/Getty Images for Essence Michael B. Jordan Is Now The Face Of Coach Menswear Talk about having a good year. Following the company’s success during Coach’s partnership with actress and singer Selena Gomez, the brand has just announced that  Michael B. Jordan  will be the new face of menswear. The Black Panther , Creed , and Fahrenheit 451  actor will not only represent the brand, but is also designing his very own capsule collection in the future. He is set to meet with creative director Stuart Vevers next month to begin brainstorming ideas for his own designs. Before designing some pieces of his own, though, Jordan is now appearing in advertising campaigns for the brand’s men’s ready-to-wear, accessories, and fragrances–beginning with the new spring 2019 season. “I liked what Stuart was doing so we decided to move forward with me being the face of the brand,” the 31-year-old told  WWD . When he was asked about his personal style, Michael said that he feels just as comfortable in a “very pristine” suit as he does in streetwear, but in the end, he spends more time thinking about the roles that he plays. “As an actor, I’m always putting on somebody else’s shoes and becoming someone else,” he explained. To go along with that, Jordan said that he keeps his stylist busy since he’s constantly gaining muscle mass and then slimming down thanks to roles like Creed . As for what we can expect from Jordan’s own designs, he’s not letting anything slip. When the actor was asked to name an athlete or fellow celebrity whose looks inspire him he responded, “There are a lot of people whose style I like, but I wouldn’t want to dress like them.” So it looks like we’ll just have to wait and see what his capsule collection entails once it hits stores. Congrats to MBJ on the big moves!
