Proving once and for all why he will never become mayor of New York City, Weiner lost it when a potential constituent suggested that he call it a campaign. Now almost a month old, his Royal Highness Prince George Alexander Louis of Cambridge, a.k.a. the Royal Baby, is back for a second round of pictures. Eschewing a formal shoot with a professional photographer, the royals’ latest pics were taken in early August by none other than Kate’s father, Michael Middleton. The location? Kate is looking especially radiant in a fuchsia knot front maternity dress by Seraphine as she holds little George, who was “very peaceful” during the shoot. Forget a cat riding a Roomba while dressed like a shark. That video is so earlier this month. In our latest footage of a pet doing something ridiculously cute, a man named Sean Sweat decided recently that he wanted to ride his motorcycle with his cat as a passenger. But, have no fear, Mr. Sweat gave this idea plenty of safe thought, storing the cat inside a hamster ball that had been tested on the vehicle up to speeds of 140 miles per hour prior to becoming the quasi seat belt of a kitten. Yes, THGers: it does get cuter than a Golden Retriever puppy being spoon fed by its owner. But only when 222 Golden Retrievers mix and mingle in one place, as took place last month at the annual Guisachan Gathering. The event is is run by the Golden Retriever Club of Scotland and held at the ancestral home of this beloved breed. It started in 2006 in honor of the organization’s 50th anniversary and has grown in size since then from 188 golden guests to this year’s mark of well over 200. There’s a dog show, there’s dancing, there’s frolicking among humans and animals. But mostly there’s simply a chance to bask in the adorableness of what many consider to be the world’s best breed. They really do love their pets in Scotland, as just last week a quartet of kittens was rescued from an air conditioning vent in that country. It’s all rather AWWW-some if you ask us. A man recently saved his dog from a sinking ship, which would be cause for viral fame in itself … but then there’s the fact that he went back for his wife afterward. Yes, he saved the dog first … but look at them! Man Saves Dog (Then Wife) From Sinking Ship Graham Anley and his wife, Cheryl, recently found their yacht sinking after it collided with a reef while on a voyage from East London to Madagascar. National Sea Rescue Institute station commander Geoff McGregor said all three survivors – man, wife and Jack Russell terrier – were wearing life jacket: “As the crash happened Graham sent a Mayday radio distress call and activated the EPIRB (a GPS beacon) but they were immediately forced to abandon ship.” “He first swam Rosie (the dog) ashore safely before returning for his wife, whose safety line had snagged on the steering gear,” McGregor added. Key details have yet to emerge, so it’s very possible – even likely – that Cheryl was in a position of relative safety and Rosie might have been in grave danger. The couple and their dog all made it out free of injury, which is the most important thing, and given his background, he may have known he had it under control. Graham, a longtime volunteer with the National Sea Rescue Institute himself, said it was “humbling to have the shoe on the other foot and need to be rescued.” The couple did not want to speak with the media about their rescue beyond that, so it’s left to readers to speculate about Graham’s priorities during the ordeal.
