Congratulations to Mel B , who finally gave birth to her third little girl late Thursday at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles. Spice Girl took to Twitter shortly after the birth to make an announcement that her little girl had arrived: Well that’s a new one… We never heard of a woman laughing so hard during labor that the baby popped out before. Did they give her laughing gas instead of an epidural? Mel’s publicist also confirmed the birth: Mel’s publicist confirmed: ‘This evening Melanie Brown and husband Stephen Belafonte welcomed their new baby girl in Los Angeles. ‘This is the first child for Mel and Stephen and both mom and baby are happy, healthy and doing well.’ Poor Stephen Belafonte, he’s now outnumbered 5 to 1, since he has a daughter from a previous relationship. This baby is his first with Mel, who had 12-year-old Phoenix Chi with ex-husband Jimmy Gulzar and 4-year-old Angel from her relationship with Eddie Murphy. Mel and Stephen have not announced the baby’s name yet, but we are fully expecting something else with wings to strike Mel’s fancy, maybe Fairy or Robin?
Mel B’s baby is about to make an appearance. The Spice Girl was photographed arriving at an L.A. hospital this morning looking like she’s ready to pop!!! According to TMZ , Mel arrived at the hospital super early this morning with her husband Stephen Belafonte and a bodyguard in tow. The singer who’s about to give birth to her 3rd child recently declared, “It’s coming out this week, one way or another it’s coming out this week.” The 36-year-old star has two children, Phoenix, 12, and Angel, 4. Vanessa Hudgens looks kind of like a soccer mom. This is how the actress describes her new, shorter hairstyle in an interview with Access Hollywood , as the star says she chopped off her own locks for a role in Gimme Shelter , a Ron Krauss-directed movie that features the former High School Musical star as a pregnant teen forced to live on the streets. “I miss [my hair,] believe me, I do, but there’s nothing I can do about it,” Hudgens says. No word yet on how rumored boyfriend Josh Hutcherson feels about the look. But we’re anxious to hear from readers. Compare the new with the old and sound off now:
With little money to her name, several lawsuits pending and a vitriolic public still calling for justice, Casey Anthony may have been better off in jail . So where is Casey Anthony ? Completely MIA since her early Sunday release from the Florida jail where she resided for three years, that’s where. Her attorneys wisely won’t reveal her location or plans, but their calls to respect the verdict and leave Casey alone have largely gone unheeded. Casey Anthony Heckled Outside Jail The accused child killer could be in hiding in Carlsbad, Calif., near San Diego, according to a nwq report this morning on NBC’s Today show. Tracking the ownership of the Pilatus PC-12 private jet that whisked Anthony out of Orlando Sunday morning, NBC pointed to California attorney Todd Macaluso, who at one point had been a member of Casey’s defense team. Macaluso reportedly had given her $70,000. Macaluso’s firm maintains an office at the Palomar Airport in Carlsbad, with a private plane available to the firm anytime on very short notice. There are also reports that Macaluso left Anthony’s defense team early last year after running into trouble with the California Bar Association. The plane carrying Casey Anthony is believed to have taken a circuitous route before landing at John Wayne Airport, in Orange County, Calif. The Phoenix Fox TV station KSAZ reports that one of the stops could have been Prescott, Ariz., which is also a possible destination or Casey. NBC also says the IRS has placed a tax lien against Anthony, and that one of her moneymaking plans might be a pay-per-view TV interview. Anthony was ridiculed by hecklers as she walked free this weekend. We can only imagine the uproar if she charges foir a television sit-down.
Mel B.’s pregnant belly made an appearance poolside at a Los Angeles hotel earlier this week. Despite being 8 months along in her pregnancy, Mel is still flaunting her body in a teeny leopard-print bikini. This will be Mel’s third child, but first with husband Stephen Belafonte. Her daughter, Phoenix Chi, with ex-husband backup dancer Jimmy Gulzar is 12, and her daughter Angel, with Eddie Murphy, is 4. Did Mel B & Hubby Have A Threesome With Stripper? Hot Mamas Unite! Yeezy performs a bombastic headlining set on Saturday in New Orleans. By Rebecca Thomas Kanye West performs at the 2011 Essence Fest on Saturday Photo: Erika Goldring/Getty Images NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana — Early on in Kanye West ‘s headlining set at the 2011 Essence Music Festival on Saturday Night, the Chicago MC stood on a raised platform suspended high above the cheering crowd. As he spit “Dark Fantasy,” the hook “Can we get much higher?” seemed a particularly apt way to describe not only his literal skyward stance at the New Orleans Superdome , but also what was to come that night. Yeezy was already knee-deep into career-defining classics like “Jesus Walks” “Can’t Tell Me Nothing” and “Diamonds are Forever,” when he told the elated NOLA fest he was “just getting started.” Rocking a white blazer, topped by a thick tangle of gold chains, and a pair of jeans and sneakers, the 34-year-old rapper bounded across the stage like a hyperactive teen, but there was no mistaking that West is a megastar, the “college dropout” who has more than made G.O.O.D. on his childhood dreams. As a small army of classical dancers — dressed in a variation of the phoenix costume worn by Selita Ebanks’ bird in West’s short film “Runaway” — flanked him, Kanye launched into a bombastic rendition of “Power”; “Devil in a New Dress” and “Hell of a Life” followed as ‘Ye tucked into singles and cuts from last year’s platinum-plus opus My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Performing to a massive audience that came to its feet (and stayed there all night) to the strains of ‘Ye and Jay-Z’s “H.A.M.,” the Chi-town MC with a Nas flow touched on his recent scandals, explaining that he stopped granting press interviews after taking lashings from media and bloggers. But he wasn’t all rebellious rapper: He danced, sang along and laughed his way through an old-school medley of personally influential music, and the playlist jumped from Al Green to ’90s soul groups like Jodeci and Shai. And West also emphasized that he knew who had held him down when, as he laughed, he “had a little too much too drink” before storming the MTV VMA stage back in 2009. Yeezy repeatedly thanked the predominantly African-American crowd for standing by him before going on to a stirring, church-tinged rendition of “Gold Digger.” The songs felt big and anthemic; the stage and stands, for instance, were bathed in lights and lasers for “All of the Lights” and “Stronger,” respectively. As he bounced back and forth between hits from his discography, including his College Dropout debut and his introspective, Auto-Tuned 808s & Heartbreak, the weight of West’s musical success was apparent. If there is a handbook for how to headline an expansive show, West should write it. Concertgoers appeared awestruck at the sheer spectacle and scale of the show, mouths gaping when they weren’t shouting lyrics back at the energetic MC. For the finale “Act 3” (a title card projected onto oversize screens flashed the show’s three-part progression), a billowing white tent was spread across the stage. In cocoon-like fashion, the dancers re-emerged in black tutus; West clad in his signature red suit. As the rapper knocked out the mournful, tinkling opener of “Runaway” on his MPC machine, the ballerinas circled and Pusha T turned up for his verse. Still, as large and loud as the show felt, Yeezy’s closing was as subtle. After rapping a heartfelt “Hey Mama” on his knees, with a nod to his late mother, Donda West , the star and his band, dancers and DJ took a ballet-company-style bow and walked offstage as the stadium lights went up. Hermione Granger is also dominating in the first round of the MTV News tournament. By Eric Ditzian Alan Rickman as Professor Snape in “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2” Photo: Warner Bros. Don’t pooh-pooh Filius Flitwick! That’s just one of the lessons coming into focus little more than 24 hours into the epic showdown we call the “Harry Potter” World Cup . Though the diminutive master of Charms nabbed just a 10 seed in our monthlong tournament, in which fans have been voting online to choose the greatest character in the fantasy franchise, Professor Flitwick has raced out to a commanding first-round lead over his fellow Hogwarts colleague, and number-seven seed, Sybill Trelawney. But voting in the initial round doesn’t close until midnight on Monday, meaning there’s more than enough time for Trelawney fans to divine a whole lot of votes in her honor. Other contests seem less prone to an upset. Honestly, what are the chances Harry Potter himself , facing off against Dark Arts devotee Quirinus Quirrell, gets an unexpected first-round ouster from the World Cup? As of this writing, the boy wizard has wrangled more than 95 percent of the vote. His pal Hermione Granger, meanwhile , has garnered more than 98 percent of the vote in her battle with often-salacious journalist Rita Skeeter. See photos of all of the “Potter” World Cup players. But that was all to be expected. Early voting has also shown us some characters that could become Cinderella stories. Dobby the House Elf , the adorable rascal who made the ultimate sacrifice to save Harry and company, shot out to a maybe-we-should-call-it-now lead over Gryffindor half-blood Dean Thomas. Maybe now it’s time for Dobby, who’s always been the servant until now, to lead a fan-supported charge. Yet the floppy-eared elf could well run up against Severus Snape, who himself is dominating a first-round matchup with Death Eater spawn Vincent Crabbe, in the Sweet 16. Snape, as “Potter” buffs know, has one of the most complex and satisfying character arcs in the entire series. Only Dobby, we presume, stands between him and an Elite Eight showdown with Harry. That’s the main action in the Privet Drive quadrant of the bracket . Over in Godric’s Hollow, while Hermione is busy wiping the floor with Rita, the phoenix Fawkes is straight up embarrassing poor Nearly Headless Nick. But voting in Albus Dumbledore’s game hasn’t even started. If you ask us, anyone who thinks someone like Dark Arts defender Remus Lupin is going to stand in the way of a Hermione vs. Dumbledore Elite Eight face off is crazy. See the full bracket and vote! Things haven’t even gotten started on the other side of the bracket. There’s a whole lot of Weasley brawling going on in the Hogsmeade section, not only with Ron securing the top seed but with Arthur cruelly conjuring up a war with his son Percy. But all that may become background noise once Cedric Diggory (memorably, if briefly, portrayed onscreen by one Robert Pattinson) gets in on the action. Even Ron Weasley, he who won the heart of Hermione, might not be able to take down the “Twilight” heartthrob. Voting kicks off Wednesday. And then in Diagon Alley, we find perhaps the tournament’s most competitive corner. Count ’em off: Lord Voldemort, Draco Malfoy (whose Tom Felton has collected two straight MTV Movie Award Best Villain wins ), Sirius Black and his murderer, Bellatrix Lestrange. About the only thing we can predict at this point is that Lord V is going to freaking destroy Moaning Myrtle, who might need a new nickname soon. Voting in these matches begins on Thursday. Who is the best “Harry Potter” character of all time? The “Harry Potter” World Cup will find out! Voting is going on now over on the MTV Movies Blog , and you can also get the debate going on Twitter with the hashtag #mtvpottercup. ‘There are a lot of cats that people say it’s over for,’ rapper tells Mixtape Daily. By Rob Markman Yung Joc’s Ready to Fly Photo: Swagg Entertainment Mixtape Daily Main Pick Artist : Yung Joc Representing : Atlanta Mixtape : Ready to Fly Real Spit : Yung Joc knows what his doubters think of him, but on his latest mixtape, Ready to Fly, the Atlanta rapper aims to change the public perception that he has fallen off. “I think this mixtape is definitely one of those ones that people should definitely check out, especially for the naysayers that’s like, ‘It’s over for that guy.’ That’s cool too. There are a lot of cats that people say it’s over for,” Joc told Mixtape Daily before likening himself to another phoenix-from-the-ashes pop star. “I remember on my last mixtape, Grind Flu, I got a song with Chris Brown. I remember people were like, ‘Why you got Chris on there? It’s over for him.’ Look at him now.” Joc, who rose to prominence after his Grammy-nominated debut single “It’s Goin’ Down,” helped kick-start hip-hop’s snap craze. The track even caught the attention of actor Tom Cruise, who famously did the song’s accompanying motorcycle dance during a BET broadcast. Despite earning a gold plaque for his 2006 Yung Joc City album and multiplatinum credits for his single, Joc seemed to lose steam and hasn’t released an album since his 2007 sophomore effort, Hustlenomics. Not that he’s completely disappeared: Joc appeared on R&B singer Slim’s 2008 single “So Fly” and alongside Diddy a year later on Day26’s “Imma Put It on Her.” “It’s just funny how people jump ship so fast. It don’t take but a little buzz, a little heat up under that frying pan to heat things up, and people are right back on the bandwagon,” Joc said. “Hopefully that’s what this mixtape will do, because I’m gonna keep coming, dropping video after video.” For Ready to Fly ‘s cover, Joc drew inspiration from the Notorious B.I.G.’s 1994 classic debut Ready to Die, swapping out the Biggie baby for a picture of himself. While Joc paid homage on the cover, Ready to Fly isn’t all about B.I.G.; it’s a nod to Joc’s Southern roots and original Atlanta sound — which he never abandoned. DJ Sense and DJ Demp host the tape, while rappers like Tity Boi , Yo Gotti, Gucci Mane and 8Ball make appearances. Will it be Joc’s big comeback? Only time will tell, but so far, things sounds pretty fly. Joints to Check For
Today is Kanye West’s 34th birthday! Now we all know that Mr. West loves to adorn himself with the finer things in life. The exclusive items that he purchases on a day-to-day basis would suffice for the average person’s birthday, Christmas and anniversary presents combined … for life! So in celebration of Yeezy’s birthday, June 8, why not recap eight of the most ridiculously gaudy gifts that he has presented to himself? After all, he probably thinks that his gifts are the best anyway! FACT OF THE DAY: Kanye West Almost Signed With Capitol Records When Kanye feels like having Indian curry and fish for lunch, he flies it (and the head chef) in from the UK to New York for $4,000. Visiting Egypt or the King Tut exhibition isn’t enough; Kanye needs the $300,000 gold Horus chain and pyramids ring to “set it off right.” Mirrors are cool, but Kanye would prefer to look at a bejeweled image of himself in his $180,000 Tiret watch. Kanye thought it was a good idea to permanently replace his bottom teeth with gold and diamonds. From what he tells Ellen DeGeneres, toothpaste is the perfect jewelry cleanser anyhow! Kanye doesn’t like to ride in style… he rides above style! Kanye purchased a $1.7 million secret agent SLR Mercedesz-Benz McLaren. Kanye makes his wildest dreams reality—he films “Runaway,” featuring a nude Phoenix, ballerinas, and a huge Michael Jackson float. It makes perfect sense that Kanye wanted his $7 million LA home to be as smart and vivid as himself. His home is run by an elaborate computer matrix. Who likes vixens with big mouths? not Kanye. He paid Amber Rose a seven-figure “silence fee” to keep quiet about their relationship. Did You Know Nicki Minaj Plays The Clarinet? See The Video Here!
