Woman Sues Developer For Failing To Inform Her Of Racist Neighbor A New Jersey woman was who was livid after learning that she’d purchased a home next to an openly racist man is now suing the home developer for failing to warn her. via News One Cyndee Phoenix (pictured) thought she had found the perfect home in a Hamilton County, N. J., residential community to live in with her elderly parents and sister. But what Phoenix did not know and now claims was not revealed to her by the developer, Lennar Homes Corp, who promoted promises of a “wonderful lifestyle,” was that she and her family would be tormented by a neighbor who would threaten, intimidate and make racist remarks. She is suing the developer for “knowingly concealing” that her future neighbor was a “dangerous individual,” according to Courthouse News. Phoenix closed on her home last October and moved in a month later. Lennar Homes reportedly warned the neighbor in question, Kevin Elville Potter, about his alleged harassing behavior, requesting that he cease his hostile conduct. According to documents filed in Atlantic County Court, Potter began his harassing ways soon after Phoenix moved in. Potter allegedly made “death threats to plaintiff’s sister, spit in the direction of Phoenix’s family members, made snide and racist comments about plaintiff, has taken pictures of plaintiff’s guests and stared them down in attempts to intimidate them and continued blocking plaintiff’s driveway with his parked cars.” The complaint also describes how Phoenix is so “afraid to leave her home” and “is constantly living in fear” that she was forced to hire a security guard because the family was also allegedly stalked by Potter. Phoenix claims that her security guard was even harassed by Potter, who once reportedly followed the employee for 15 miles on the freeway. There’s no arguing that this man’s actions are blatantly prejudice and uncalled for from the sounds of things but, it’ll be hard to prove that the home developer had knowledge of his racist ways before hand. This is a crazy story that should serve as a cautionary tale to people considering polyamorous relationships . When they go wrong they can be fatal. According to NY Times reports : Sheryl Outerbridge, a 38-year-old mother of three, was buried last Wednesday in New Jersey, hours after her funeral service in Harlem. One of the suspects in her death, Devonnee Wilkerson, was arrested and charged with kidnapping and assault; her husband, Malik Wilkerson, was in custody in Pittsburgh and awaiting extradition to New York, the police said. In a statement to the police, Ms. Wilkerson explained what precipitated the violent act. Ms. Outerbridge, she said, violated a cardinal rule of their relationship by getting a tattoo for her birthday: it said “Bish Baby,” Ms. Wilkerson’s pet name for her husband. “There are boundaries not to cross,” Ms. Wilkerson told the police.” SMH. And this is why these situations go wrong. Someone is always the odd person out in these love triangles and not everyone is able to handle the rejection, but apparently the relationship started out more promising. A close friend, Nicole Irving, recalled that Ms. Outerbridge had met Malik Wilkerson at a party over three years ago, and confided that she had an abusive boyfriend whom she was afraid to leave. Mr. Wilkerson confronted the boyfriend and scared him off, Ms. Irving said. Shortly after, Mr. Wilkerson, who was known as Bishop, moved into Ms. Outerbridge’s small Harlem apartment. So did his wife. Known as Phoenix, Ms. Wilkerson had long dreadlocks and gaunt features behind wire-rimmed spectacles; they were a sharp contrast to Ms. Outerbridge’s round face, full lips and glossy hair. The two women appeared close: Ms. Outerbridge’s Facebook page is packed with photos of their exploits. There were visits to meet the celebrity chef Bobby Flay at Bobby’s Burger Palace in Garden City, N.Y., where Ms. Wilkerson worked; and trips to Rockaway Beach. There they snapped a self-portrait, Mr. Wilkerson between them. Ms. Outerbridge was plain about her new lifestyle, once bringing the man she called the Don to a family cookout. When the Wilkersons moved back to the two-family vinyl-sided house owned by their relatives in South Jamaica, Queens, their new girlfriend came with them. She had her own room in the untidy two-bedroom apartment. Are we the only ones wondering where Sheryl’s three kids were in all this? With their dad or another relative? It’s sad those kids have to be without a mother, especially because there were warning signs: As frank as Ms. Outerbridge was about her three-way relationship, she tried to keep its brutal reality to herself, but that became increasingly difficult. She would return to her Harlem apartment with black eyes, a split lip, “a small map of Texas on her cheek, like somebody took the cigarette and dragged it up her face,” Ms. Irving said. Last month, Ms. Outerbridge told another friend, Tasheka Neal, 31, that Mr. Wilkerson had broken her jaw. She suggested that the love triangle was lopsided — she indicated to her friends that her true relationship was with the man, and that his wife simply capitulated to his will. Her forays to Harlem and her pet cat there never lasted long. “When she would come home, they would come and show up and knock on her door,” said Ms. Irving, referring to the Wilkersons. They would order Ms. Outerbridge back to Queens. On Monday, Dec. 2, Ms. Outerbridge fled the Wilkersons, and they wanted her back. Mr. Wilkerson began calling many of Ms. Outerbridge’s friends, his voice breaking with rage when they answered. He told them he suspected she was with other men. According to a transcript of statements Ms. Wilkerson made to the police, the Wilkersons drove around Queens in the Town and Country, searching for Ms. Outerbridge in the dark of Tuesday morning. They found her at a train station in Jamaica, and forcefully took her to their home in Queens. Her clothes came off. Visible, on her buttock, was the new tattoo she had gotten for her birthday in late October. “She should have never gotten that tattoo, because I am his wife and that kind of tattoo is reserved for me,” Ms. Wilkerson told the police. The couple beat Ms. Outerbridge in turns, first pummeling her temples, then battering her legs with the paint roller, still lying in the house. Her pleas for help were accompanied by calls of “Daddy,” Ms. Wilkerson’s pet name for her husband, enraging his wife further. “I snapped again,” she told detectives. “That was another boundary not to cross.” Ms. Wilkerson told the police she threw a beer bottle at Ms. Outerbridge’s head, and jabbed a lit cigarette into her skin. Then they beat her some more, using fists and a hammer, and left her close to death on the floor. The next morning, Ms. Wilkerson said, she and another man took Ms. Outerbridge to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The other man, who has not been identified, was said to be cooperating with the police. Based on Mr. Wilkerson’s phone calls the night before the killing, some speculated that he might have been crazed by the prospect of her seeing other men. But his wife’s fury had a different root. Toward the end of her questioning by detectives, Ms. Wilkerson admitted something she had kept to herself to that point. “I know,” she said, “Malik had fallen in love with Sheryl.” This is like something straight from “Snapped.” SMH. Was Brandon T. Jackson subjected to racist treatment or was the US Airways flight attendant just doing her job? According to TMZ reports : “Tropic Thunder” star Brandon T. Jackson claims he was escorted off an airplane and questioned by police after flipping out on a flight attendant who called him the n-word. Jackson — who also plays Grover in the “Percy Jackson” movies — says he was on a US Airways flight when a flight attendant named Dee approached him and asked him to sit down. The two argued — and Jackson claims the flight attendant said, “I don”t care if you’re Obama’s son — get in your seat!!” Jackson says the flight attendant also called him the n-word. Jackson says he was later escorted off the plane — and questioned by police in Phoenix. Eventually, he was released and tweeted, “This was the most racist thing that ever happen to me even the white people on the plane was like that racist.” 10:14 AM PT — A rep for the Phoenix Police Dept. tells TMZ … cops received a call from the airline around 7:30 PM reporting a disruptive and belligerent passenger who had been cut off from alcohol. We’re told … when police arrived, officers spoke with Brandon and determined no crime had been committed. Brandon, who was supposed to catch a connecting flight to Burbank, was escorted out of the terminal and not allowed to fly on US Airways that night. Cops say Brandon was cooperative with police. SMH. Damn shame, even Hollywood stars aren’t safe from racism. Meanwhile US Airways is denying Jackson’s claims and trying to paint him as a drunk : “Tropic Thunder” star Brandon T. Jackson was an obnoxious, drunken a-hole during a flight Monday … and that’s why he was booted from his plane, so says US Airways. A rep for the airline tells TMZ … crew members adamantly deny using the N-word during an inflight altercation with the actor, despite the actor’s allegations. As we previously reported, Brandon went on a Twitter rant last night — claiming a flight attendant hurled racially-charged epithets at him for no reason … but now, the airline is calling BS. The rep explains, “The disruptive behavior started with loud music being played by Mr. Jackson at his seat. He was asked several times to turn down the music. Additional erratic behavior was observed and that is when the crew made the decision to stop serving [alcohol to Brandon].” US Airways says it stands behind the crew — claiming they handled the situation appropriately. When Jackson’s flight landed in Phoenix (where he was supposed to catch a connecting flight to Burbank) he was escorted off the plane and interviewed by Phoenix PD. Cops determined no crime was committed and he was allowed to leave — but US Airways banned him from getting on the plane to BUR. So far, no word back from Brandon T. Jackson. SMH. We have flown a lot of airlines in our time and have to say that US Airways is not among our faves. We’re definitely more inclined to believe Jackson than them… But what do you believe? He must have REALLY hated his wife , damn… Colorado Man Throws $500,000 In Gold In Garbage To Keep It From Wife In Divorce Via Gazette A fortune in gold, gleefully chucked into a Colorado Springs trash bin? That’s the claim of Earl Ray Jones, a Teller County man who says he converted $500,000 in life savings into gold in May and then threw it away – all to prevent his wife of 25 years from seeing a nickel in their pending divorce. “Damn right I did,” the 52-year-old former defense contractor huffed at a July deposition by the woman’s stunned divorce attorney, John-Paul Lyle of Colorado Springs. In his sworn interview, Jones said he consigned the treasure to a Dumpster behind a Colorado Springs motel, according to a transcript obtained by The Gazette. Bank records supplied by Jones prove that the money was converted to gold through a Phoenix, Ariz. precious metals dealer, lending credence to the hard-to-swallow tale, Lyle said. “We say that when people are divorcing, they enter a state of temporary insanity,” he said. “But on a scale of 1 to 10, this is my 10.” Whether the gold was actually tossed has yet to be established. Jones claimed during the deposition there were no witnesses and that he took no steps to document the disposal. Sir, really???? Jones is facing a Nov. 4 sentencing in Teller County for menacing after he beat up his wife and held her captive in their Divide home during a March fight over finances. April Jones filed for divorce three weeks after the assault. Facing the loss of his government security clearance, Jones resigned his $82,000-a-year job at Exelis, a Colorado Springs contractor, court records show. He has been held at the Teller County jail pending sentencing since his conviction at a September trial, court records show. His estranged wife was left “destitute” by the marriage’s breakup and is living with a relative in Virginia, Lyle said. A former teacher, she is unable to work because of the lingering effects of her injuries, including a diagnosis of post-concussion syndrome. People ain’t S#!T! Jones first made his claim that he disposed of savings at a June divorce hearing in which El Paso County Magistrate D. Denise Peacock ordered that he pay his estranged wife $3,000 a month – money the woman hasn’t received. At the sworn deposition in July, Jones said he threw the gold – a mix of coins and gold bars – into a trash bin at Value Place, 5555 Airport Road, a weekly rate motel that Jones called home after vacating the couple’s Divide home.
