Chris Brown is in trouble after being accused of stealing a random fan’s iPhone after she snapped a photo of him leaving a nightclub in Miami. Chris allegedly snatched the phone and said “B*tch, you’re not gonna put that on the Internet,” before driving off with the device. Songwriter The-Dream tells ‘RapFix Live’ of Rihanna, ‘She’s my friend, so whatever she wants to do is whatever she wants to do.’ By Rob Markman, with reporting by Sway Calloway The-Dream on “RapFix Live” Photo: Natasha Chandel/ MTV News Fans were shocked and some outraged when they heard Rihanna ‘s “Birthday Cake” remix with ex-beau Chris Brown . The-Dream, who wrote the song, admits that he was a bit surprised when Rihanna told him that she’d like to include the man who once assaulted her on the track, but the “Shawty is a 10” singer was far more understanding than Rih Rih’s detractors. “At the end of the day, she’s my friend, so whatever she wants to do is whatever she wants to do,” The-Dream told Sway when he appeared on “RapFix Live” on Wednesday (February 22), just two days after Rihanna released the controversial remix. The-Dream remembers first getting the call from Rihanna while driving in Miami. “I think I’m gonna put Chris on it,” he remembers the Talk That Talk singer saying to him over the phone nonchalantly. “I don’t know which Chris you talkin’ about, [but] OK, cool, whatever you say,” The-Dream remembers responding. Of course there is really only one Chris, and The-Dream came to grips with the reality that the two would be coming together in song after the damaging 2009 assault that left Rihanna battered and bruised and Brown public enemy #1. “She’s pretty smart too. The same questions that went through my mind, and I’m an artist also, had to have gone through hers,” The-Dream told “RapFix Live.” “When she raised the question to me, I know she’s not crazy. So my thought was you’ve been thinking about this, you’ve already thought it out, so evidently you know what reaction you gonna get.” The singer/songwriter said that he was just happy that she gave him enough forewarning that he too could prepare for any type of backlash. Still, despite the rumblings of whether or not Rihanna is sending the right message collaborating with Chris on “Birthday Cake” as well as Brown’s “Turn Up the Music” remix, The-Dream says that it all boils down to forgiveness. “Don’t say you know how to forgive when you don’t,” he warned. “Everybody knows what took place, cool. Have the power to really forgive if that’s what it is, if not stay on that side of the fence from the beginning.” In no way did The-Dream condone Brown’s behavior on that February night in 2009, but he does suggest that it is time for people to move on. “It’s easy to kinda throw Chris under the bus all the time, but c’mon, man. Then they introduced us to the wiggle. And for their latest video , for the club-thumping track “Sorry for Party Rocking,” the guys of LMFAO are throwing the ultimate cartoon-like house party. The clip, which premiered Monday night, opens with an older couple (played by LMFAO’s Sky Blu and RedFoo) arguing over the ruckus of a nearby house party, hosted by LMFAO’s very own Sky and Red. When the older gentleman makes his way over to the party to complain, he gets the door slammed in his face. Inside the party, the guys and their colorful crew are wearing their animal-print and neon-colored clothes, dancing and drinking the night away. When they refuse to shut down the party, the older man calls the police. But instead of shutting it down, they join the madness. So does everyone else: from pizza delivery guys and sexy nurses to truck drivers and David Hasselhoff (who appeared with the guys onstage during their 2011 American Music Awards performance). And, while the older man is trying to shut the party down, he finds his wife inside enjoying the festivities. Who could not be charmed by a house party thrown by Red and Sky? As the video begins to come to a close, RedFoo falls over from all the good times. When he is whisked away by an ambulance, he drops his phone, which is later picked up by someone who begins to party rock to “Anthem.” Christopher “Kid” Reid (from Kid’N’Play , who know a thing or two about house parties) arrives at the scene as the party seems to be winding down to complain about all the noise. In the final seconds, the video very quickly references the hospital scene that opens the group’s very memorable “Party Rock Anthem” video , where they fought off a zombie-like dancing epidemic. Perhaps this party had something to do with the origins of the plague in that video. Directed by Mickey Finnegan (who directed “Party Rock Anthem” and “Sexy and I Know It” as well as clips for Cee Lo Green and Soulja Boy), the whole video takes place in a world made up of cardboard cutouts and animations, making it a surreal escape. My name is Reiko, and on February 13 2012, I met Justin Bieber. It all started when my two friends, Emily & Angeliesse found out on a school day that Justin was here in NYC. We quickly decided to go to his hotel. It was around 9am when we got there and there was only one other girl. After waiting around half an hour or so, we saw his Escalade come and a few minutes later, Justin came out. We knew we had to keep calm and not go crazy and run to him or jump and freak out, so we walked towards him, calm . He was with Selena, and she was already in the car. He took pictures with three girls, then left. While doing this, Justin was getting SUPER annoyed at this one paparazzi who was all up in his face. After Justin went into his car he opened it a few seconds later and told the paps to “Stop it” and the paps just replied rudely “What?! No!” So Justin opened the door once more and said, “Can you stop it” The paps weren’t respecting Justin’s privacy and kept going at it, so lastly, Justin opens it again and says, “Go away!” As he said this, my friend Emily pushed the paparazzi and said, “JUSTIN SAID TO STOP IT, ALRIGHT!!” and we knew Justin saw this because it was right in front of his side of the window, and although we couldn’t see him from the tinted window, we hope he knows us beliebers got his back! My friend and I was devastated that we didn’t get a picture with him, but we were so glad that Angeliesse did because she went through so much to meet him and finally did. We then decided to wait until Justin came back to the hotel. While waiting, we saw Kenny and we asked, “Can we get a picture with you? We love you!” He was SUCH a nice person, he came up to me, put his arm around me and took a picture. Already meeting Kenny was the best way to start the day. Also, we met Moshe , people know him as white Kenny, and he was so sweet too! He took pictures with everyone, so did Kenny. After we waited for a few hours at around 2:00pm, Justin’s car pulled over and he got out and was talking on the phone. He then quickly waves, and told us, “I’ll be back outside soon” and went into the hotel. We were all then so hyped up, especially how close he was. He was beautiful. After half an hour later, the hotel staff started to put up barricades, there were around 40 people there by that time. Around 3:45pm, he came outside and he went to the other side of the barricades first, and took pictures with everyone. He also asked to take a group photo as well. In the beginning, we didn’t know if Justin was going to come over to this side, so everyone said, “JUSTIN! Please come over here!”. We all got really happy. As he came over, everyone started to ask for pictures with him, so I went up to him. I tapped his arm and asked, “Can I please get a picture with you?” He put his arm around me and then I snapped the picture. Those few seconds of my life was the best thing that has ever happened to me. After a few minutes, he said, “Can everyone please move back a little bit, I’m claustrophobic” and everyone moved back a few steps. As I quickly told him thank you, I realized that Emily didn’t get her picture yet so I nudged her towards Justin and they got a picture. After Justin took a few pictures with the rest of the girls, he went into his car. Afterwards, all the girls just hugged each other and screamed “OHHH MYY GODD WE JUST MET JUSTIN BIEBER!!” I made a heart with my hands to the car. Everyone was so greatful for what just happened. Although some people may say that Justin doesn’t care about his fans, he DEFINITELY does. He didn’t have to come outside and take pictures with us, he could’ve just went into his car and left. He really cares, a lot. I’m going to be honest, I’ve never thought I was going to meet Justin and I did. We have tried so many times to meet Justin, at Dolche and Gabbana, Today Show, and more. Also, Angeliesse has been through so much while trying to meet Justin (she had to get rushed to the hospital during his Today concert) so I’m really glad she finally got the chance to meet him, you deserve it. This whole experience was amazing. I met new really sweet beliebers and I am just so grateful to have the chance to meet him. New single ‘Part of Me,’ which Perry debuted at awards show, has some pretty pointed references to her ex-husband. By Kara Warner Katy Perry performs at the 54th Annual Grammy Awards Photo: Robyn Beck/ AFP/ Getty Images Although Katy Perry has yet to speak out publicly about her split from husband Russell Brand , she sent a pretty clear message out about her post-breakup emotions via Sundays night’s Grammy performance of new single “Part of Me.” The midtempo pop song — Perry’s next single — features several key phrases that speak to her relationship with Brand and the apparent emotional ups and downs she suffered along the way. “Days like this I want to drive away/ Pack bags and watch your shadow fade/ You chewed me up and spit me out like I was poison in your mouth/ You took my life, you drank me down/ But that was then and this is now.” Perry’s message in the song is one of empowerment and moving on, with lyrics like “This is the part of me that you’re never gonna ever take away from me,” “You’re not going to break my soul” and “Look at me, I’m a sparkling firework, a dancing flame/ You’ll never put me out again, I’m glowing.” She briefly touches on the ever-present public attention she receives, wanting to throw away her phone and trying to discover who her real friends are.
