Would you let your kids see this nasty character??? Jerry Sandusky , the former Penn State assistant football coach charged with child molestation, asked for court permission on Friday to see his grandchildren. Under conditions of his bail, Sandusky is currently prohibited from visiting his 11 grandchildren. A motion filed in Centre County court seeks to allow Sandusky to contact his 11 grandchildren by email, phone, text and Skype, and to let them visit his central Pennsylvania home if accompanied by a parent. Authorities allege Sandusky sexually abused 10 boys over a 15-year span. Sandusky has said he is innocent. He is currently under house arrest and forbidden from having contact with anyone under 18. “Jerry’s grandchildren want to see him, and he very much wants to see them,” Sandusky’s lawyer, Joe Amendola, wrote in an email to The Associated Press. A 12th grandchild is expected “in the near future,” according to the motion. They shouldn’t allow him to see nothing but the four walls of a jail cell! Source More On Bossip! EWWWW!!! Joe Carnahan probably knew he was in for something of a tussle when his latest film, the survival actioner/mortality meditation The Grey , began drawing criticism from animal activist groups sight unseen even before it debuted ( at #1 , no less) last weekend. But then PETA posted its own twofold complaint regarding the depiction of wolves in the film and the reported eating of wolf meat on Carnahan’s set, escalating the anti- Grey fight. The question is, does PETA have a legit beef with The Grey ? In a blog entry posted to the official PETA website , the organization blasts Carnahan on two fronts for being “rotten to wolves from the get-go.” First, the more general grievance: The Grey , they say, makes wolves look bad. “The writers paint a pack of wolves living in the Alaskan wilderness as bloodthirsty monsters, intent on killing every survivor of a plane crash by tearing each person limb from limb,” claims PETA, when in actuality wolves “shy away from” humans. Carnahan’s film (scripted by Ian MacKenzie Jeffers from his own short story) takes fairly diligent measures to portray its wolves as agents of nature, dangerous to be sure but with their own reasons for attacking Liam Neeson’s Ottway and his fellow oil rig workers. They’re glimpsed in the dark all glowing eyes and howling breaths and are seen tearing unfortunate victims to bloody pieces, but are they “monsters,” or simply animals acting on their natural impulses to defend their territory from encroaching human invaders? Speaking earlier this month in Los Angeles, Carnahan explained his take on the wolves of The Grey . “I think the wolves are a facet of and thereby a force of nature, but they’re no different in my mind than the river, than the blizzard, than the cliffside,” he said. “They are component parts of a whole, which is nature. And for all of its beauty there’s equal parts hostility.” To this end, every front facing the men of The Grey has the potential for death – the blizzard conditions that fell their airplane, the freezing cold, the river, the harsh terrain. A polar bear, cut from the film, was to have posed a similar threat. Its inclusion may have slightly lessened the weight of the wolves as the film’s only animal foes, but the theme remains the same: It’s not that these things are evil, but that man – stripped of his weapons and the trappings of civilization — can only infringe so far on the dominion of nature and its creatures. Watch The Grey and you come away with a deep respect for these animals and their somewhat anthropomorphized qualities – their intricate pack relations, capacity for loss, and sense for what one character intimates as revenge. Man’s folly is in thinking himself above mortality. Besides: If Carnahan wanted to vilify wolves as his film’s antagonists, a la sharks in Jaws , that would be a matter of creative license. Do you see the Syfy Channel attacked for propagating irresponsible messages about Mega Snakes and Sharktopi? Verdict on this count: Carnahan 1, PETA 0. PETA’s other contention is a bit trickier. According to reports , Carnahan flew in a batch of frozen wolf meat for his cast to munch, Method-style, in preparation for a scene in the film. “[Carnahan] bought the meat from a trapper, meaning that the wolves likely suffered horribly in traps before being killed,” wrote PETA, calling this move a reneging on a promise by the filmmakers to “use only computer-generated imagery and animatronic wolves.” [ UPDATE: The Province spoke to trapper Dick McDiarmid for his account of providing wolf carcasses to the production.] Taking to Twitter, Carnahan shot back . “To suggest otherwise is cheap and uninformed,” he wrote in just one of a series of Tweets on the matter. “Not a single animal was harmed for the making of this film.” [ UPDATE: Carnahan Tweeted directly to Movieline to clarify in plain terms: “…There was no trapping or hunting. We didn’t harm a single wolf in the making of this film.”] And this : “Guys, I donate $100 a month to the Humane Society to prevent canned hunting of all kinds. Protestors. Look up my records & SHUT THE FUCK UP.” Colorful language aside, Carnahan insists that no animals were harmed in the making of the film, but does he escape culpability if said animals were trapped and killed prior to filming by third parties, then utilized in the service of the film? Even if Carnahan didn’t buy the wolf meat to order – if it was in “some guy”’s basement freezer for six months before the cast of The Grey chowed down, having ostensibly been killed for practical reasons – is Carnahan culpable for supporting the kill after the fact? Here’s a note from the American Humane Association (via Box Office Magazine), which did send a certified representative to observe filming but conspicuously did not lend its “No Animals Were Harmed” seal of approval to the credits roll, explaining the omission: “American Humane Association monitored the live animal action during the filming of The Grey . Our Certified Animal Safety RepresentativeTM on the set of the movie ensured the humane treatment of all of the animals used in this film. The movie does not however carry the American Humane Association “No Animals Were Harmed”® end-credit certification. Our process in awarding the end-credit includes a screening of the locked motion picture, which we were not given. Productions must be screened to determine cohesiveness with all of our on-set documentation.” As for the wolf meat accusations, AHA had this to add: “Online allegations regarding the consumption of wolf meat by cast members of The Grey , have not been verified and sources within the production and distribution entities have not returned our phone calls of inquiry. American Humane Association does not permit the trapping and/or killing of any animals for use in filmed entertainment.” Most AHA animal monitoring concerns the use of living animals in productions, but they do have guidelines regarding the use of dead animals , essentially requiring proper documentation and receipts for transactions that proves the animals were “destroyed in the normal course of the source’s operations and were not killed for the production.” So Movieliners, let’s hash this one out. Does PETA have legit ground to stand on with either or both of their complaints against The Grey , or was Carnahan right when he Tweeted the following to his critics: “Wolfaboo wackos. Your insane rants about us killing wolves only makes the movie more of a curiosity and thus, more successful. Keep it up!”? Follow Jen Yamato on Twitter . Follow Movieline on Twitter .
Damn, are these kids THAT bad?!?! Authorities paid a visit to Dekaney High School in Houston, Tex., after what students called an “outrageous” brawl broke out in the cafeteria, KHOU-TV reports. “All these people came and just started hitting everybody,” student Maya Rodriguez told the station. “After a while, I got hit and everybody just started fighting. So I hit back…” A student caught the riot on cell phone camera, and told KTRK that students were throwing items like milk cartons in the cafeteria and trash cans in the halls. Parents told KTRK that they’re sick of the violence the school, and blame the “lack of control” by school officials. Dekaney High School principal Delic Lloyd says they are working to fix the problem, the station reports. “We are working hard to work together and partner with parents and the community to improve the climate of Dekaney High School and to prove the teaching and learning that’s taking place here,” Lloyd told KTRK. The sorry a$$ beyotch has been arrested! A Brooklyn mother has been busted for abandoning two of her daughters on a sidewalk — leaving them alone hours after she gave them a curse-filled tongue-lashing, cops and neighbors said. Dalisha Adams, 26, was charged Monday with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child for cruelly leaving Dominae, 5, and Diani, 3, in the cold, police said. A neighbor of Adams at the Breukelen Houses in Canarsie said she often heard the mom screaming at the girls and their older sister, who lives with an aunt. “She was always yelling at the kids, ‘Shut the f— up,’” said the neighbor, who did not want to be identified. “One day, I heard her curse out the little baby, ‘I’ll punch you in the f—— face,’” the neighbor said. She said she heard another blowup on Sunday, not long before the girls were found about two miles away in front of the Bay View Houses, clutching disposable diapers. “Usually I hear the yelling at night or early in the morning, 4 or 5, but this was in the daytime,” the neighbor said. “A kid was crying. She was saying, ‘Stop crying. Shut the f— up. I’m gonna get you out of here.’” The girls told police their mother left them on the sidewalk and just drove away. An elderly couple found them wandering up and down the street. The 5-year-old told cops their mother’s name is Dalisha and that she was driving a white car but did not know the make nor model of the vehicle. Cops went door-to-door in an effort to identify the children. About 10:10 p.m. on Sunday night, police showed up to Adams’ apartment and used a crowbar to open the door, a resident said. Adams apparently was not inside. She surrendered at the 69th Precinct stationhouse around 11:30 p.m. A neighbor said the girls were usually well-dressed and clean, and Adams’ MySpace page is filled with photos of her daughters. But another resident of the housing project confirmed Adams was harsh with the kids. “She talks very dirty to the children and treats them nasty. She pulls their arm and curses at the children,” the neighbor said. “It’s not right,” she said of the abandonment. “They’re better off with someone else.” The sisters did not appear to be abused but were taken to Brookdale University Hospital as a precaution. The Administration for Children’s Services confirmed it took custody of the two younger girls but declined to say whether it had an open case on the family. SMH. The mother was so shook that she didn’t want to be identified for fear that the boys friends would recognize her The mother on her way home from visiting the zoo with her son Thursday night said the 11-year-old boy who flashed a gun at her on a MAX train was harassing her… An argument started after a group of kids got on the train at the Skidmore Fountain station and one of them bumped the mother’s stroller. She said they started kicking it so hard that a soda on top of it fell on her child who was seated in the stroller. She said she tried to move to another seat but the group followed her and started cursing at her. Then the 11-year-old boy lifted his shirt and flashed a gun in his waistband. She said when he started to pull it out she backed away and he put the gun back. When it was all happening, the mother, who did not want to be identified, said she panicked at first, fearing the boy might use the gun. “He stands up and sticks his hand down his pants, and I don’t see anything particularly but I see more than his hand – more of bulge,” she said. “I don’t know exactly, but my instincts just told me what it was. … Yeah, it was a mamma bear instinct. I instantly got on the phone. I didn’t know what else to do.” The mother then called 911 while her friend distracted the kids. The train stopped at the Old Town/Chinatown stop and the 11-year-old was taken into custody after the mother pointed him out to police. After arresting the lil bastard, the police were shocked at what they found… Police said he had a loaded .22-caliber semiautomatic handgun in his waistband. They also said another boy on the train, a 13-year-old, had a BB gun in his backpack. He was also taken into custody. In court Friday the 11-year-old boy was in tears and kept his head down the entire time. The judge ordered the boy to be held in juvenile custody through the weekend. He faces six charges. Portland Police Bureau spokesman Sgt. Pete Simpson said in his 18-year career he’s never seen or heard of a case where an 11-year-old was armed and confrontational in public. “People in the community are scratching their head going, what in the world could be going on that an 11-year-old has a gun and that is his resolution to a conflict where you bump into a baby stroller to pull a gun,” he said. Cry us a muhfuggin river kid, if you ask us, the judge should sentence you to at LEAST 10 years in prison! Cry about that! Source More On Bossip! ‘She’s shaking, convulsing, burning up,’ one caller says the night of Moore’s hospitalization. By Jocelyn Vena Demi Moore Photo: Jason Kempin/ Getty Images In the 911 call made the night of Demi Moore’s hospitalization , a female caller is heard describing the events that led to the actress’ Monday health scare. Describing Moore’s condition as “semiconscious, barely,” the caller told the 911 operator, “She smoked something. It’s not marijuana, but it’s similar to it. It’s similar to incense. She seems to be having convulsions of some sort.” The first caller then passed the phone to another woman, who added, “She’s shaking, convulsing, burning up. I’m taking cold water and putting it on her back because she’s burning up. I don’t know what would have made her do it.” Demi’s hospitalization has soon-to-be ex-husband Ashton Kutcher “deeply concerned.” There appeared to be several other people present at the time of the call, as they all frantically tried to keep the actress afloat. When asked if it was common for Moore to react in this way, one caller said, “There has been some stuff recently that we’re just finding out.” Another caller added: “She’s been having some issues lately with some other stuff, so I don’t know what she’s been taking or not.” As the seven-minute phone call wrapped up, the paramedics arrived to the residence. On Tuesday, Moore’s rep said she had been hospitalized due to “exhaustion”; however, there has been speculation that she had been inhaling nitrous oxide at the time of the incident. Moore’s health scare caps a rough patch for the actress. Sources told E! News that her three daughters are doing fine. Rumer, 23, visited her mother several times at the hospital before she was discharged earlier this week. Tallulah, 17, is with her dad, Bruce Willis. “She’s doing great,” the source told E! “Her grandmother [Bruce’s mom] is also there with her.” Moore’s other daughter, 20-year-old Scout, goes to Brown University in Rhode Island and reportedly hasn’t been home since the incident. On Friday (January 27), news broke that Mary Louise-Parker has replaced Moore in the “Lovelace” film, currently filming in Los Angeles. Related Photos Demi Moore Through The Years
