We’re pretty sure we’ve made our feelings on Nirvana covers clear; in general, we’re against them. But rules don’t seem to apply to Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who has been consistently wonderful ever since the first time we saw him on 3rd Rock from the Sun. So, we’re not surprised that we actually find his cover of Broadcasting platform : YouTube Source : Flavorwire Discovery Date : 25/08/2011 21:00 Number of articles : 2

What is Doc Brown — that is, Christopher Lloyd — advertising in this Argentinian commercial? (Or ‘Argentine.’ I’m never certain which is correct.) The spot features Doc appearing in the Back to the Future DeLorean, which promptly crashes into Garbarino [1], an electronics superstore. Is this a commercial for the store, or for the phone that Doc seems to be reaching for right at the end? Well, this is just peachy. Another lucky soul was able to buy an HP TouchPad (for $100) that had Android preinstalled instead of WebOS. Apparently, there’s a bit of a back story as to why this anomaly is happening. It appears Qualcomm, the chipset vendor for the tablet, tested Android on several units. Ask a Very Smart Brotha: Booty Calls and Greedy Goldfish

Dear Champ, Perhaps you can help me with a strange situation I have never found myself in and I’m trying to make sense out of it. I met a guy about a year and half ago. When we first met at a gathering, sparks were flying between the two of us. We were totally smitten by each other the entire time we were there. If there was ever a such thing as a Soul Mate, we were probably close. However, after awhile, it was obvious that a romantic relationship was out of the question. His secrecy and emotional maturity bothered me and it became more than a notion to try to get him to open up truthfully to me. Even though things didn’t work out between us romantically, we still liked each other on a personal level, and we developed somewhat of a friendship—–over the phone! For some reason, he is content with this phone friendship. We talk 24/7, day and night, night and day for months and months. But, we have very little face-to-face interaction. Now, he claims that he lives in another state, but I never believed it. I believe he lives in the same state and city as I do. Whenever he claims he’s in town, it’s like pulling teeth to get him to visit me.The few times we have spent together, we had a great time (and electrifying sex). I have invited him to different events but he never comes. He always gives me some excuse about his money being low. ( Continue reading… )

Bruno Mars’ VMA-Nominated ‘Grenade’: Road To Video Of The Year

Clip also nominated for Best Male Video and Best Pop Video at Sunday’s 2011 MTV Video Music Awards. By Jocelyn Vena Bruno Mars in his “Grenade” music video Photo: Elektra Records For Bruno Mars ‘ deeply personal breakup track “Grenade,” the pop crooner hooked up with a man who truly understands dark images: Australian music video director Nabil Elderkin, who has cooked up clips for the likes of Kanye West, Frank Ocean, Diddy and will.i.am. The duo created a clip that mirrors the heartache of the song, where Mars sings about loving someone who won’t love him back. The video dropped in November and has racked up hundreds of millions of views online. It’s also up for three Moonmen at Sunday’s 2011 MTV Video Music Awards , including Best Male Video, Best Pop Video and Video of the Year. For those who have yet to check out the video, Mars pines over a lovely young lady. To prove his love for her, he puts on his Sunday best and drags his piano across Los Angeles, meeting up with unsavory characters along the way. When he does finally get to his beloved’s house, he sees that she is hooking up with another fellow. Heartbroken, he drags his piano away from the home, up one very difficult hill and ends up at a railroad track. Does a completely devastated Mars get hit by the train? Well, that’s the video’s great, deep, dark mystery. “It was my concept,” the singer told MTV News earlier this month. “I said, ‘I want to drag a piano.’ I got my friend Nabil to come direct it, and it was a risk because I still hear jokes to this day like, ‘What the hell you doing dragging a piano?’ ” he said. “But it’s my art, so shut up!” Mars, who hit the stage with B.o.B at the 2010 VMAs , is pretty stoked about having the video make the final cut as one of the nominees for Video of the Year . “I grew up watching VMAs. I know every performance,” Mars said. “Ever since I was a kid, I’ve been watching MTV VMAs, and when we got the phone call saying that my video was up for Video of the Year, that’s the big-boy award.” Mars is also up for a Best Choreography VMA for his much-more-fun “The Lazy Song” clip. He’s also set to take the stage as one of Sunday night’s performers . The 28th annual MTV Video Music Awards will air live Sunday from Los Angeles at 9 p.m. ET/PT, following the Selena Gomez-hosted pre-show at 8. August 19, 2011 was the date of My Bieber Experience. That night…

August 19, 2011 was the date of My Bieber Experience. That night was Selena Gomez’ concert in Philadelphia so my sister and I were going to get there early so we could try to meet Allstar Weekend. On our way there, we got a text from my cousin saying that Justin and Selena walked right past her in the city. We decided that we NEEDED to go and try to find them. We heard what hotel they were staying at so we stood across the street from it for about 10 minutes. I was starting to think that nothing was going to happen, until I saw a tour bus pull up. My sister and I walked over to the side of the street that the hotel was on, but a security guard from the hotel came over and told us we had to go back across the street. Soon after that, I saw Kenny walk out, followed by Justin and Selena, with their arms around each other. We ran back over, (we were literally the only 2 fans there) and I was screaming “Justin Justin!” but the security kept pushing us away telling us that they were on a strict time schedule. I tried to ask Kenny if we could get a picture with them but he didn’t respond, and my sister made a really disappointed look. Just when I thought that we lost our chance, I see Justin walk over to us, right past the security guards who were telling us no. He came over and my dad took a picture on my phone and also had my sister’s camera so Justin said “Take one on that one too!”. Overall he was pretty quiet, but it was the nicest thing that he actually walked right over to us, past all of the security. This has really taught me to Never Say Never. – @molliedronson and @maddiejill Excerpt from: August 19, 2011 was the date of My Bieber Experience. That night…

In 2008, my friend and I were on Youtube just looking around at…

In 2008, my friend and I were on Youtube just looking around at random videos when we came across this video of a kid singing ‘With You’ by Chris Brown. We thought, “Oh he’s cute” so we clicked on it and he was AMAZING. I subscribed and kept up with his videos from that day on. A little over a year later in 2009 he was doing radio appearances and I heard on the radio, “Justin Bieber will be here July 20th”. I thought for a while of who Justin Bieber was and then it hit me, “Oh he’s the kid that was singing With You.” I called my friend and asked if she wanted to go to the radio station and try to meet him. A week before we were supposed to go to the radio station, Justin released his single One Time. We listened to the song over and over again and when July 20th came we woke up at 5AM to drive an hour and a half to meet him. Of course we got lost of the way and it took much longer than expected but we finally arrived there at around 6:30 AM. We stood outside the glass window just staring in at Justin, watching him do the interview and sing One Time for us. At about 8 AM, he finally came out to greet the fans that were outside. There was only about 20 people there so for him to greet the fans definitely wasn’t a problem. It became my turn in line, he signed this paper that the people gave us for him to sign and I took  a picture with him. Also I asked for a hug. Since I was the last one in line, I asked him to sign my ipod and he said “sure” so he did so. I said bye and left. July 20th 2009 is by far the best day of my life. -@itsanniebabyy See the original post here: In 2008, my friend and I were on Youtube just looking around at…

Race Matters: Chicago Woman Claims She Was Fired From Night Club For Not Enforcing Racial Quotas

What’s up Chi-town? This is how they play up there??? Camila Klinger, 27, was fired as general manager for a popular bar in Lincoln Park in 2010. Two weeks ago, she filed a lawsuit in federal court alleging that Anthony Anton, the owner of Fuze (formerly known as Skybar) at 2242 N. Lincoln, routinely used illegal tactics to limit the number of African Americans in the club. Anton did not return several phone calls seeking comment about the lawsuit. His attorney, Michael Ficaro, also did not return my phone calls. But this is not the first time that someone has accused Anton of discriminating against African Americans. In 2007, a Caucasian male contacted me after he allegedly witnessed four black patrons being denied admittance to the Mark II lounge in Rogers Park, another bar that Anton owns. The African Americans walked away after being told the bar was closed to the public for a private party. The white patron overheard the false claim and was so outraged, he chased the group down and advised them of the scheme. The lawsuit specifically names several instances and examples of discriminatory behavior on the part of the club owner. Among other things, Klinger’s suit alleges that Anton’s discriminatory practices included: Telling her that there were too many black people in the club; ordering her to tell the DJs to stop playing African-American music so black patrons would leave, and raising the club’s cover charge and cost for party packages for black customers so they would choose to go elsewhere. “Anton made it clear to Klinger that certain racial minority groups, particularly African Americans, were not welcome in the club,’’ the suit states. After sometime it became too much for Klinger to accept and she decided she had to do something. “Something inside of me felt that this was not acceptable in any form,” Klinger told me in an interview at her lawyer’s office. “I felt like I had to speak out. A lot of people see things, they witness things and they don’t have the means and resources to bring some kind of awareness. I feel like the only way for good to come out of this is if I expose this.” …Things came to a head on a Sunday night when Klinger said she was called on the carpet after an African American and a Latino got into a fight in the bar. “This was the only time there was a fight,” she said. The suit states that after the incident, Anton told her “that she needed to start enforcing the racial quotas and that if she would not do it he would find someone who would.” Added Klinger: “When I said what he was asking me to do was morally wrong and illegal, he said I had to leave.” Source
