It’s been a tumultuous few weeks in the life of Nicki Minaj. First, Nicki was savaged in a diss track by Remy Ma that contained burns so brutal many feel they’ll haunt Ms. Minaj for the rest of her career. Before she could respond, Ma leveled Nicki with another track , this one not quite as scathing, but still injurious. Eventually, Nicki responded with a verse of her own, but many hip hop fans felt that it was too little, too late. Adding to the magnitude of Remy’s victory is the fact that Nicki has been repeatedly accused of playing snitch: appealing to various authorities in an attempt to silence her rap rival. Sources say Nicki began by reporting Remy for violating her parole (Ma just completed a seven-year sentence for shooting a member lf her entourage). When that didn’t work, she allegedly alerted the copyright police to a possible case of infringement. “Shether” – the first track that Remy directed at Nicki – samples its beat from 2001’s “Ether” a Nas diss track targeted at Jay-Z. Industry insiders say Nicki blew the whistle on Remy, alerting Nas to a possible theft of intellectual property that he was probably already aware of. If she really did make the call, it probably amounted to a favor request from a friend and former collaborator. Apparently, Nas wasn’t concerned about Remy’s homage. (Unlicensed beat sampling is a common practice in hip hop.) But while the phone call didn’t turn out to be an effective strategic move for Nick, it may have sparked a romance between a hip hop legend and the current queen of the genre. Yes, sources say Nas and Nicki are dating . It would be a lightning-fast rebound for Nicki who just broke up with Meek Mill back in January. Of course, moving on quickly is Nicki’s M.O., as she allegedly got involved with Meek not long after she dumped Safaree Samuels following their 8-year relationship. Disses and romances and snitching, oh my. Nicki’s got enough drama to support three soap operas. She’s got a TV show in pre-production, but sadly, it’s a kids’ show based on her childhood. Remy Ma Says Nicki Stans Called Her P.O. While Remy Ma holds the crown in the rap battle between her and no-response Nicki…she’s losing the popular vote among Nicki’s horde of adolescent pop fans. Remy revealed that while the Head Barbie in Charge was off in Paris with her boob hanging out and sipping Champagne with supermodels …a legion of “lames” as she called them had pulled some pretty petty moves on behalf of their queen. Remy took to Instagram live and let it be known that Nicki’s fans had looked up her P.O.’s information and placed a coupled of phone calls in an attempt to put the rapper back behind bars. SMH! While that’s admittedly a little funny on some level conceptually…actually going out of your way to find the phone number and make the call is complete overkill. Photographed by the legendary Mario Testino in a bright purple and blue Chanel ensemble, flames aloft on the backdrop behind her, Stewart is front and center for the publication’s “Free Spirit” issue. And she looks almost nothing like herself on the cover: Among the topics Stewart delves into as part of this cover story is iconic designer Karl Lagerfeld. The two have worked together for a number of years now. “Karl has always, from the very beginning, made me feel like being myself was the right thing to do. And in [the fashion] world, that is a rarity,” Stewart explains. “He’s a compulsive and obsessive artist and it’s contagious. And he’s kind. He is who he is for a reason. I feel so lucky to be in his space so often.” Stewart will next be seen in the film Personal Shopper, a thriller that is scheduled to hit theaters on March 10 and which centers on our relationship with new forms of communication. It’s a meaningful theme to the former Twilight Saga star. “When you speak to someone on the phone, that is a decipherable, understandable exchange,” says Stewart to V. “But with text and social media, it’s essentially a dialogue with yourself and your interpretation of a shadow. It’s not invalid; it’s a new language.” Stewart continues to distance herself more and more from the role of Bella Swan that made her famous. It made her famous among teenagers around the world, but this star has loftier goals in mind. She’s hoping to reach a larger audience. Last month, for example, Stewart won rave reviews for her Saturday Night Live hosting debut, actually cursing in her monologue and taunting Donald Trump. She openly talked about her ex-boyfriend, Robert Pattinson. She told the entire world that she’s gay. She seemed a little nervous and anxious, but she also came across like more of an open book than she ever had before. “For six years, I’ve just been being a total wuss about it and then I finally was like, at some point, you just have to bite the bullet, you know?” Stewart said of the hosting gig, adding that even if one is to fail… “It will make you stronger, man.” Kristen Stewart Makes Fun of Trump, Drops F Bomb on Saturday Night Live! Over the weekend, Angelina Jolie spoke publicly about her divorce from Brad Pitt for the first time. It’s been months since the couple parted ways following a still-mysterious confrontation between Pitt and the couple’s eldest son aboard a private jet, but until this week, both actors have refrained from speaking about the split publicly. We’ve already heard (almost certainly bogus) reports that Brad is dating Kate Hudson . Now it’s Angie’s turn for a made-up rebound relationship. And gossip columnists have decided to set her up with an even more high profile and unlikely new boo: Yes, according to Star magazine, Angelina is dating Jared Leto. To be clear, we wouldn’t put it past her, and when Jolie does move on, it will probably be with someone famous and weird as hell, not unlike Leto. We just don’t think it’s happening yet. A source tells the magazine that Angie and Jared aren’t just hooking up, they’re rushing headlong into a serious relationship: “The word is they spoke several times on the phone before meeting up in L.A. for dinner, and they’ve been seeing each other whenever they can since then,” says one source. “Angie’s been telling friends Jared has a special way of making her feel good about herself.” Another insider adds: “He’s been good for her, helping put a smile back on Angie’s face.” Yes, he’s putting a smile on that face of hers. We can’t help but thing the person who made this source up got Jared confused with Heath Ledger. Anyway, as we said, this almost certainly BS, but we wouldn’t go so far as to say it’s impossible. This is a woman who went from Billy Bob Thornton to Brad Pitt. In a way, Jared Leto is the next logical step. Which would make this the only time there was anything logical about Jared Leto.
