Kelly’s attorney spoke to TMZ , telling the site the singer fears retaliation from fellow inmates who know he’s accused of having sex with underage girls. There are apparently no R.Kelly fans in jail. The musician has opted for solitary confinement, feeling safer by himself despite having limited phone privileges and no access to TV or the internet. But, according to his attorney, Kelly needs support since he can’t read or write, making tasks like figuring out what’s on the commissary list virtually impossible. Earlier this week, Kelly pled not guilty to all charges. Though his attorney argued that he was not a flight risk and had appeared at all of his court appointments on time, a judge denied bond calling the case “extraordinarily serious.” If convicted, Kelly would face the maximum of 195 years in prison. Prosecutors believe that there were many more girls, beyond the initially cited 12, who were victim to Kelly’s abuse. This decades-long history of abuse was documented through witness and survivor testimony in the dream hampton produced documentary “Surviving R. Kelly” which aired on Lifetime this past January. When R. Kelly was arrested on sex trafficking charges last week, many — likely including the singer himself — assumed that he would be released within hours. After all, Kelly has proven surprisingly adept at evading authorities over the years, and he’s remained a free man despite dozens of allegations against him over the course of two decades. But a full week after he was taken into custody, Kelly remains behind bars. A judge denied him bail at a hearing on Tuesday, so it looks like he’ll remain locked up at least until his trial. And as is so often the case with rich and powerful men who lead lives of crime, the possibility of being locked up for a very long time didn’t seem real to Kelly until he actually spent some time behind bars. Now, it’s all hitting home for the 52-year-old, and it seems he’s very aware that prison isn’t a very pleasant place for convicted sex offenders. According to a new report from TMZ, Kelly is being kept in solitary confinement at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Chicago. And the surprising thing is, he prefers it that way. Kelly’s attorney, Nicole Blank Becker, tells TMZ that the R&B legend feels that his life would be in danger in the general prison population. And he must really be afraid of getting snuffed out because life in the hole sounds like a nightmare experience. Whereas the gen. pop. inmates have access to the phone whenever they want, Kelly has just 15 minutes a month to speak with family and friends on the outside. On top of that, he receives no TV or internet access. Kelly is almost entirely illiterate, which further complicates his situation, as even minor tasks like choosing items from the commissary list are nearly impossible for the singer. And so, Kelly and his lawyers are at odds over his situation. They feel it’s unsafe for him to remain in solitary; he feels it would be unsafe for him to live among the general population. It’s possible that in this case, he knows something they don’t. TMZ reports that Kelly has little to no support among his fellow inmates, which is not surprising. He’s locked up in his native Chicago, and given the number of accusers he’s amassed over the years, it seems almost impossible none of them have any association with one of the prisoners. Meanwhile, the case against Kelly seems to get stronger by the day. Prosecutors claim they’re in possession of a tape that shows Kelly engaging in sex acts with multiple minors . Now the teen is working with a modeling agency for the same reason. According to Madame Noire , Washington’s story went viral when he didn’t get the Six Flags job because of his locs: “They told me I could cut my hair and come back, that it’s just hair and it would grow back,” he told Dallas News . “But they compared it to having a tattoo. I didn’t want to cut it.” A few months passed and Washington received an Instagram message from Corrie Caster, head of development for IMG Los Angeles. IMG represents major models like Bella and Gigi Hadid , Kate Moss and Ashley Graham . Marvel and Prop Store have teamed up to auction off over 850 authentic props from the cancelled Netflix shows, which includes items from Daredevil , Luke Cage , and Iron Fist . The auction includes costumes, set decorations, and props from Marvel’s recently nixed Netflix lineup, according to reports from The New York Post . One of the most expensive items in the catalog is the first iteration of Matt Murdock’s Daredevil costume, which starts at $10,000 and is estimated to bring in a smooth $30,000-$50,000. Beyond that, the tank where Luke Cage was experimented on starts at $6,000 with estimates a sale between $12,000 and $15,000. But if you’re not looking to drop thousands of dollars on these props, there are plenty of more affordable items including Murdock’s cassette recorder starting at $150 and Elektra Natchios’ robe at $250. While online bidding for these items has already started, prospective buyers can also register for absentee bidding or bid over the phone during the live television auction on August 12-13. Marvel pulled the plug on its Netflix shows last year, which included Daredevil , Luke Cage , Iron Fist , Jessica Jones , and The Punisher . Many fans thought that the cancellation of these shows–or at least some of them–was only temporary so Marvel could take them over to their own upcoming streaming service, but now that they’re selling crucial set items that’s starting to look less likely.

I had an opportunity to get my photo taken by the photographer through a Walgreens ‘Beneath The Surface’ Beauty & Skincare Event. It was an opportunity for me to see what products Walgreens was offering for summer and why I recently loaded up on sunscreen from my local store. On-goers marveled at how my skin didn’t have any sun spots. Nevertheless, the dermatologist seemed very concerned about my skin and its condition. She was a white dermatologist and I only mention this because I do believe it’s important to see a specialist who understands and knows your skin tone. Through Dove, I had the opportunity to sit with Dr. Mona Gohara, who chatted with me all things sunscreen and skincare to protect our melanin in the summer. I showed her the illustration and she actually told me my skin was great. I then dropped the big bomb on her. I don’t use sunscreen regularly. I don’t use sunscreen when I’m on vacations because I feel like my skin is deprived from the sun as I’m normally inside and I live in NYC. I’m a sun baby. I grew up in Florida where I regularly felt the rays dance across my skin. Dr. Mona explained that our melanin gives us a natural 13 SPF; however, we still need to do more. “The way Black and brown skin ages is with hyperpigmentation We have melanin, which is our greatest gift. Melanin protects us from the sun. Protecting us from the sun frankly, helps our skin not wrinkle as easy and maintain our elasticity.” She continued, “If you look at an 80-year-old white woman compared to a 80-year-old Black woman, the white woman will have wrinkles and sun spots. Black people will have hyper pigmentation, that’s how we age.” Melanin is our protector, but it’s also the active ingredient that makes us hyper pigment. It wasn’t just me, she sympathized that the average person is not diligent in sunscreen. Dr. Mona shared, “Diligence means a shot glass over your entire body every two hours. That’s how you are supposed to apply sunscreen.” However, it’s not only the sun that we need protecting from. Dr. Mona explained, “Sunscreen isn’t just protecting you from the sun, it’s protecting you from visible light, like light bulbs, and blue light, like your computer and phone.” While we may not be in the sun, how many hours a day do you spend on your phone or your computer? She added, “It’s now about protection from different types of light.” What’s so bad about looking on your phone all the time without protection? Dr. Mona stated, “Visible light can promote malasma and hyper pigmentation, so we are extrapolating other types of light that we’re coming in contact with like the phone and computer can be damaging as well, built we don’t know to what extent.” Source: Dove Beauty Bar / Courtesy of Dove If skin health is a priority, then sunscreen should be a priority. Dr. Mona educated, “90% of the visible signs of aging come from unprotected exposure to ultra violet light.” Black and brown skin also ages with dryness. Keeping Up with the Kardashians finally addressed the 6’10” elephant in the room on part one of its season finale last night. After weeks of hype, the penultimate episode focused entirely on the Tristan Thompson cheating scandal . The second Tristan Thompson cheating scandal, that is; not the one in which he slept around while his girlfriend was pregnant… but the one during which he made out with his girlfriend’s close pal. Because here’s the thing: Yes, Tristan made out with Jordyn Woods several months ago. The latter has admitted it, the former has not denied it and Khloe Kardashian has ended the relationship over her baby daddy as a result of it. So there’s nothing to debate when it comes to how much Thompson sucks as a boyfriend. The guy totally and completely sucks as a boyfriend. This episode just piled everything on so darn thick that we have a bunch of questions over what we actually heard and learned. For instance: Khloe opened the installment by saying she was crazy sick, suffering through one migraine after another while actually throwing up blood. “Literally my whole head feels bruised because it’s been pounding for so long and it’s terrifying,” she told viewers, adding on air: “I’m supposed to go to Cleveland tomorrow to see Tristan, but the way I’m feeling right now, I don’t know if I can be on a flight like that. I’ve been throwing up blood. It’s so intense. I’m blind in my left eye.” We’re sorry, but: WHAT?!? Khloe is coughing up clood and has gone blind in one eye and is just sort of casually relaying this information to the camera? And we never once heard anything about this condition several months ago, back when this episode was allegedly filmed? Khloe alleged on the episode that she took a pregnancy test (it was negative) and that a doctor could not diagnose whatever the heck was supposedly going on with her. Elsewhere, Khloe made an allegation that created headlines across the Internet hours later: She told Scott Disick that Tristan actually threatened to commit suicide when confessing his sins to her over the phone. “He’s like, ‘I can’t stop thinking about you and what mess I have caused,’” she told Disick. “He’s doing this to get a reaction out of me. Oh, so I’m just allowed to say ‘I’m going to kill myself’ at any time? That’s crazy.” Again, we ask: WHAT?!? Nearly every insider close to Thompson after this scandal broke said he was mostly doing just fine. Moreover, sources now tell Radar Online that Tristan never, ever said such a thing and the fact that Khloe is spreading such a lie has really caused him distress. Keeping Up with the Kardashians Clip: What Did Jordyn Do?!? “He is pissed off because a ton of people, including his family members and NBA execs, are reaching out to him very worried,” Radar writes, quoting someone who knows Tristan well and adding: “He says he told Khloe he didn’t want to live without her, but that didn’t mean he wanted to kill himself.” On the finale, we were told that Khloe asked someone to go check on Thompson after he supposedly uttered the suicidal thought, prompting Disick to deliver this well-scripted speech: “The fact that Khloe is sitting here heartbroken but still worrying about Tristan’s feelings and the possibilities of him being upset or possibly hurting himself… “I mean, it just goes to show that Khloe is an unbelievable person that loves so hard and so much. “Somehow she just keeps getting the short end of the stick, and it’s unfair and it’s hurtful and it’s really hard for me to sit and watch.” We never once heard from Tristan or Jordyn on the episode. We never once saw a text message from either party or listened in one their end of a phone call. We were simply told a bunch of stuff by Khloe and her loved ones and expected to believe it. But what if producers just made it all up? What if Tristan and Khloe were actually on the outs at the time of the spit-swapping and what if he really did only peck Woods a little bit and there wasn’t very much to this whole scandal… … so the family had to REALLY oversell it, giving Khloe some horrible, mysterious disease right when it allegedly happened and then also making her look like a saint by putting her suicidal boyfriend ahead of her own needs, even in the wake of his dastardly actions? We know it’s a crazy thought, that Keeping Up with the Kardashians would be a scripted drama that painted its cast members as victims and made sure they were always the heroes of their own stories. Was it what Tristan did with Jordyn? Or what the Kardashians did in response?
