This is so sad … Student Texted Mother Goodbye Before Being Killed By Tornado There were a number of victims who lost their lives in the recent series of fatal tornadoes which struck southern and midwestern states, however we felt this one is particularly heartwrenching. A University of Central Arkansas senior named Jeffrey Hunter was waiting out the storm in his bathroom on April 27th when the tornado struck. As the storm approached he typed a series of final messages to his mother. Here are the details via KNWA : “First he said mama, I’m so scared,” said Regina Wood, Jeffrey Hunter’s mom. All Wood could think to do was tell her son Jeffrey Hunter he would be okay. “He knew how bad it was, these say it’s going to be a direct hit,” said Wood. From her home in Beebe 20 miles away from her son in Vilonia, Regina could only update Jeffrey through text on where the EF-4 tornado was headed. It was headed straight for him and he knew it, telling his mom goodbye. “I have a text on my phone as the tornado was hitting “Goodbye mama,” says Wood. “I kept saying are you okay? Are you okay? Let me know. Let me know. No answer,” Wood recalled. Jeffrey wasn’t the only person to die in his Vilonia neighborhood. There are flags up for each one of the victims. But despite the terror of losing her only son, Regina is comforted in the thought that Jeffrey, in the midst of panic and fright, thought to tell his mom goodbye. Hunter was with his father and stepmother when the tornado hit. They were seriously injured. So sad. Our prayers are with the family and other families who lose loved ones in the storms. Twitter

DL Hughley Apologizes For Calling Columbus Short’s Wife A Thirsty Ho On Radio Last week Hughley came under fire for comments he made on his radio show regarding Columbus Short’s ugly estrangement from wife Tanee McCall-Short . Here’s a rundown of what was said, via xoJane : “I think that broad shouldn’t be telling all his business if she gone take him to court,” said Hughley. He dismisses the concerns of his female co-host, Jasmine Sanders, to converse with male co-host Steve Wilson because he has “nuts.” As Wilson intermittently laughs in the background, Hughley stops just short of calling McCall-Short a liar whose friends posed as witnesses to her abuse. “I don’t think you believe half the isht you saying right now, Jasmine,” said Hughley as Wilson laughed. “This b***h was thirsty. The b****h was thirsty. What, she gone go back to dancing? She gone f**k her money up?” “I think that broad shouldn’t be telling all his business if she gone take him to court,” said Hughley. “When you’re very young, you’re very volatile,” Hughley said. “I’ve been in situations where the police were called. I don’t believe that every time someone says something in the heat of anger, they actually mean it. In regards to Columbus Short’s legal issues, I jumped to a conclusion and blamed Tanee McCall-Short; and I’m sorry. My intent was not to quiet victims. When I did speak of the topic on air, I repeatedly emphasized then, and as I do now, that anyone who is convicted of domestic violence, should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law; and that is what I believe.
