It all went down at a ceremony at his high school Woodward Academy. Of course, Big Boi was in the building to see the big announcement go down. Cross offered a brief monologue before revealing his choice while standing in front of his football team. “I just want to thank my family: mom and my dad, coach Davis, my football team,” he started. “With that being said, I want to announce that I committed to the University of Oregon.” Cross gets mobbed by his teammates all smiling and dancing, and it’s an absolutely endearing moment. The original ATLien posted footage and photos of the commitment ceremony on his Instagram page, showing off just how proud he is of his superstar son. He captioned one photo of his son wearing a Ducks uniform, “Congrats Son ! We are so proud of u ! #18 @crosspatton Keep Pushing , The world is yours ! Thanks to All the Coaches and @realcoachttmp #TmpMafia #GoDucks.” Cross is not rated by recruiting services. He reportedly fielded offers from FCS programs including Columbia and Butler and had interest from other bigger schools including Georgia Tech and Florida State University. And this wasn’t the only time Big Boi showed off his son’s football chops, either. If you follow the rapper on Instagram, you know that he attends every game–sometimes even bringing along Andre 3000–and is always in the stands cheering his son on. Recently, filmmaker and spoken word artist Prince Ea received the Social Influencer of the Year Award at Black Enterprise’s first-ever Black Tech Awards and addressed using that power for good. It was everything. If you don’t know Ea, he was featured in Forbes’ 30 Under 30 this year, as well as Oprah’s SuperSoul 100 , and he’s pretty well known for his life tips. Case in point: “Life Tip #144: The people who are meant to be in your life will always gravitate back towards you. No matter how far they wander.” He’s also got a over a billion views on Facebook and Youtube. Needless to say, he was a shoe-in for the award and now he’s gone viral yet again for what he had to say as he got up on that stage to accept the honor. After thanking Black Enterprise, he told the crowd: “That word ‘influencer’ is interesting to me because it’s like we’re influencing people to do what, right? A lot of people call themselves ‘social media influencers’ but you’re influencing people to do what? Is it to reach a level of beauty that is not attainable naturally? Is it to have people lust after cars or material objects that will never bring somebody true happiness?” He continued, “When you get pulled over and you’re drunk they say ‘you’re under the influence.’ A lot of people are intoxicated by what these influencers put out there. When you get sick what do they say? ‘You’ve come down with influenza.’ A lot of people are ill because of what what these influencers put out there. So I just have one question for every influencer, because we’re all influencers, and that question is: when people come to your page, do they walk away better or worse?” It was an incredible point to make. “I have chills from his words. Very genuine, wise and he takes his influence seriously. He’s accountable for his actions, global reach and content being produced. Wooooow! Thank you! ,” one fan @ danisocali commented. Since then, the Brooklyn emcee has had a slew of other hits, but as an artist, it’s hard AF to top your first single. Nonetheless, Mama kept going, kept dancing, kept rapping and acting — and low and behold, ten years later, her first single is now a viral dance challenge. Some say the challenge was started by producer Capella Grey , which is why some people are calling it the #CapellaGrey challenge. But regardless of what name you title it, it’s still just people rapping or singing acapella to the infamous beat that Lil Mama made hot back in 2008. Youtube singer Jimani Unique got her little sister to do the challenge, and not only did they wound up going viral, but now they’re the face of the entire challenge. She posted another one of 15-year old Cee Chanell and her friends who absolutely BODIED the entire challenge. They sang, gave us a catchy hook and bar or two, which no one was expecting at all. But regardless of which viral challenge it is, seeing little kids do it and kill it is always the cutest thing. Like Youtube singer @LitOfficialMusic and her little sister, who served as her hype woman. Classic! Lil Mama has come a long way since the days of her bum-rushing stages and getting roasted on social media for pretty much anything she did. Last month, Jacob Roloff and Isabel Rock announced their wedding date . Now, Isabel can’t help but gush about the former Little People, Big World star. Isabel is telling fans how supportive Jacob is — and revealing how he helps her with her art. “The man behind the resin pieces,” Isabel Rock gushed on social media alongside a glimpse of Jacob helping with her art. “I couldn’t have done it without his help,” she admits. Isabel explains: “If you are not familiar with resin, there are so many steps and tricks and measuring.” “And,” she continues. “You can’t mess any of it up or you’ll ruin the entire piece.” Isabel then announces: “Jacob always comes through!” Isabel wasn’t done praising the love of her life. “He really is the most helpful and supportive fiance,” she gushes. Her post ends: “I really love him so much!” Awww, they’re so cute. And he has been supportive of her in other ways that do not have to do with her art. Alongside this tender photo, Isabel recently gushed about how Jacob helped her self-image. “When I first saw this photo,” Isabel writes. “I was horrified at how chubby my cheeks looked.” “This beautiful picture, with all of its complexities that make it what it is,” she describes. “And of course,” Isabel laments. “I zeroed in on the most negative thing I could find.” “My cheeks are one of Jacob’s favorite things about me,” she reveals. Cute! “I’ve had them since birth,” Isabel says of her cheeks. “And apparently, they’re never going away.” She explains how Jacob’s feedback helped her to appreciate the image. “Now, with some perspective, I see this photograph as one I will cherish for life,” Isabel writes. “The way he is looking at me,” she admires. “That perfect Iowa sunset.” She mentions: “The fact that there were so many deer in a meadow behind us and our dogs were in that same meadow playing ball.” “Life is a lot like this,” Isabel notes. A huge part of being a celebrity who posts lowkey thinkpieces to Instagram is drawing larger life lessons from individual photos. “We tend to hone in on the negatives,” Isabel acknowledges. “It is the way we have trained our brains to work since the beginning.” “We focus on what we don’t like, what we don’t have, what we wish were different,” Isabel explains. Isabel continues: “Instead of looking at the whole picture and admiring it for all that it is.” “I’d like you to join me in training our minds to see things differently,” Isabel invites her followers. When looking at the world, she says, “we don’t have to see it negatively.” She suggests that they join her in “Practicing gratitude, daily affirmations, changing our thought patterns,” “All of these things,” Isabel says. “Can shift our perspective.” She is absolutely right. Sometimes, the key to changing the way that you think is just daily practice. Isabel points out that rejecting the natural instinct to focus on the negative can make people’s lives better. She suggests focusing on this “so that when something bad comes along we can still find the good in it.” “We can still find the light,” Isabel concludes. She then follows that post with a couple of tags. “#worldmentalhealthday,” she writes. “#ilovehimsomuch” Jacob has been publicly supportive of Isabel’s art, but it’s great to see that he gets involved in the process. His mother, Amy Roloff, has also shown her support by giving Isabel’s gallery showings a boost on social media. It is heartwarming to see that Jacob also lends emotional support to Isabel when it comes to loving herself. Heartwarming, but not surprising — they are, after all, engaged. Last month, Jersey Shore fans were stunned when Jenni Farley filed for divorce from Roger Mathews . The couple was beloved by fans, and their marriage was considered by many to be the most stable among the Shore cast. Adding to the confusion over the situation is the fact that the decision to split was not a mutual one. In fact, it seems as though Jenni made up her mind abruptly and without warning. Mathews has pleaded with Farley to give him a second chance in a series of heartfelt social media posts. Roger Mathews to Jenni Farley: Take Me Back! Of course, fans of Shore won’t be surprised to learn that JWoww is not the sentimental type and was not swayed by Rogers first attempts at a reconciliation. But to his credit, Mathews has not given up. This week marked three years since he and Farley got married, and he celerated the occasion by posting the photo below on his Instagram page: “This happened 3 years ago today. 8 years together total,” Mathews captioned the pic. “3006 days together. Not one of them was a flawless day. Not one of them would I change. “Happy Anniversary Babe @jwoww Wedding video in my bio cause I’m a corny traditionalist.” Obviously, Roger’s post tugs at the old heartstrings, but for all we know, Jenni is right to stand her ground. There have been no allegations of cheating or abuse, but those who know the couple best say they’ve been showing signs of being mismatched for quite some time. “The split was a long time coming,” one insider tells Us Weekly. “Everyone was hoping they’d work it out, but it didn’t happen.” Mathews seemed to confirm as much in one of his videos: “There’s no cheating or any dumb s—t or any juicy details,” the 43-year-old recently informed fans. “She just grew tired of the repetitive pattern that we fell into … and [it was] not a good one,” he added. Roger went on to say that he understands his wife’s reasons for leaving — but feels that things will be different if they give their marriage a second chance: “I don’t blame her. I’m not done fighting. I’m gonna win my wife back,” Mathews told the camera. “I’m gonna win her affection back, I’m gonna win her love back … We’re in counseling so there is hope. it ain’t over till the fat lady sings.” JWoww, on the other hand, has been hesitant to speak about the split. Photo by Jeff Kravitz/FilmMagic Tiffany Haddish Is Currently Working On Putting Out A Rap Album Tiffany Haddish skyrocketed to fame with the quickness this past year, and it’s all thanks to her being funny–but that doesn’t mean she’s going to stick to just one thing for the rest of her career. In fact, she’s already got her next move locked and loaded, and it’s probably not what any of us would expect. The comedian revealed her new side hustle during an interview with the New York Times . Here’s the excerpt from the interview that reveals what might make up an upcoming project outside of the comedy and acting world: “Haddish’s new goal is to create an empire, though she is not sure exactly how to go about it, or if it will be in the entertainment business or what. But she wants to have 40 or 50 people working for her who will be able to buy houses, put their kids through school, and pass their money down. “The end goal,” she said, “is to create intergenerational wealth and spread joy, and make sure everyone who works with me can spread the same thing and have it trickle down.” In the meantime, she is dabbling in music and trying to make a rap album.” Yep, you read that right. Tiffany Haddish is working on a rap album. Comedians making music is nothing new: from The Lonely Island to the current day, where Lil Duval is climbing the charts with his track “Lil Duval – Smile (Living My Best Life),” there’s no more perfect time than now for Tiffany to dabble. No word yet on whether the songs are going to be a real effort at rapping or some more light-hearted comedy songs, but hopefully we will find out sooner than later.
