Witness Describes Alec Baldwin Assault, Says Actor Started It

It’s sad w the tabloid press. They attempt 2 provoke an incident + when it doesn’t pan out, they say u did it anyway… #no1punchedany1 So Tweeted Alec Baldwin yesterday, hours after he got into it with a photographer in New York City , allegedly confronting the reporter for taking pictures of him and fiance Hilaria Thomas after they picked up a marriage license. But while a witness at the scene agrees Baldwin didn’t throw any punches, he does say the 30 Rock star was the instigator in the encounter. Says Goran Veljic, another photographer standing nearby at the time, to E! News of the two Daily News journalists involved in the dust-up: “They were surprised when Alec came here. He started to push up his hands to talk nonverbal and pushed one of the photographers.” Was the Emmy winner at least provoked? No, according to Veljic . “They are professional photographers, they moved back… I’ve never seen something like this.” Others have, of course. Just ask flight American Airlines flight attendants on Baldwin’s flight last December. No charges have been filed against the star at this time. [Photo: WENN.com]

‘Bang Bang Club’ Stars Talk Meeting Their Real-Life Inspirations

‘It was very tough for them,’ Taylor Kitsch says of photojournalists reliving their pasts. By Kara Warner Taylor Kitsch in “The Bang Bang Club” Photo: Tribeca Film New film “The Bang Bang Club” revolves around the real-life story of four combat photographers — Greg Marinovich, Joao Silva, Kevin Carter and Ken Oosterbroek — who risked their lives to capture the brutality and violence around the first free elections in post-apartheid South Africa in the early ’90s. Taylor Kitsch and Ryan Philippe star as two of the photographers, along with Malin Akerman as Robin Comley, their conflicted newspaper photo editor. When MTV News caught up with Kitsch and Akerman recently, we discussed the topical nature of the film , as well as the emotional aspect involved in meeting the real-life inspirations for the characters they portrayed. “When I first met Greg Marinovich, that was a big one for me, and Joao — obviously playing someone that has taken their own life, it hurts them a lot too,” Kitsch explained of portraying Carter. “It wasn’t that long ago, and obviously these guys went through a lot more than what I have with my best friends. Asking them to talk about that was very hard for them. It turned into quite — it was very tough for them.” Akerman’s meeting with the woman who inspired her character was equally emotionally charged. “I was lucky to have met Robin Comley,” she said. “She’s a fantastic woman, and she actually came to set one day — she tried coming to set and saw some of the characters in costume, and she just lost it. She couldn’t even deal. Like Taylor said, these people, it was like family, so for them to go through this and relive it, I was actually surprised that Greg and Joao were on set pretty much every day reliving everything.” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Bang Bang Club.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com .

Justin Bieber Pestered By Paparazzi In Israel

Teen superstar tweets frustration, leading to two Twitter trends. By Jocelyn Vena Justin Bieber (file) Photo: Prince Williams/FilmMagic Justin Bieber has never been shy about his feelings for the paparazzi. In March, while celebrating his 17th birthday in Los Angeles, the teen sensation gave the paps who tried to snap a photo of him and lady love Selena Gomez the middle finger — although the Biebs soon apologized for it. Well, now that he’s abroad taking his My World tour international, he’s still finding himself pestered by the photographers’ prying lenses. On Tuesday, he took to Twitter to call out the paparazzi for trying to snap photos of him while he was in Israel taking in the sights. “Staying in the hotel for the rest of the week u happy?” he wrote. “People wait their whole lives for opportunities like this, why would they want to take that experience away from someone. They should be ashamed of themselves. Take pictures of me eating but not in a place of prayer, ridiculous.” Bieber was particularly upset that photographers didn’t leave him alone while he visited sites of spiritual significance. “You would think paparazzi would have some respect in holy places,” he lamented. “All I wanted was the chance to walk where Jesus did here in Israel.” Just one day before, Bieber tweeted about his excitement over being in Israel. “Just amazing place…not a bad day. just wish got a little more space and privacy from the paps to enjoy this time with my family. Thanks,” he wrote. “I’m in the holy land and i am grateful for that. I just want to have the same personal experience that others have here.” Bieber’s post then helped initiate his latest Twitter trend, #papsleavebiebsalone. As of press time it was one of the highest-rated trends, right behind the promoted #PlayBookHaiku. Other Bieber-related trends included #cheerupjustin and Holy Land. Justin Bieber – Selena Gomez: Paparazzi Make Film Out Of The Singers’ Movie Rendezvous

StarBuzz Weekly, Toronto-January 29, 2011 : Justin Bieber has already bid adieu to the private fun life for some time now and it appears Selena Gomez too have to do that. Recently the alleged couple planned to go on a movie date at the Burbank movie theatre and the paparazzi was there too. In spite of going in incognito into the theatre on Thursday, when they came out watching the R-rated Natalie Portman flick No Strings Attached the photographers were there to make a film out of the young singers. While Selena looked pretty coy and shy as if she has been caught doing something wrong, so when asked about the duo’s relationship status the Disney actress preferred to maintain her silence and head for the car. On the other hand fan and photographer savvy Justin Bieber shouted out “Never Say Never” and even took time to pose with a girl fan for a pic. The 16year old heartthrob then went to the car, maintained his chivalrous attitude and opened the car door for Gomez. Earlier when Selena was asked about her relationship with Bieber, she said he is like her kid brother. But now it seems there is nothing platonic about their relationship and has been rumored to be dating since the later part of 2010. Bieber is coming out with his first film Never Say Never and recently wrapped up the commercial for the Best Buy. The campaign also has Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne and will be aired at the upcoming Super Bowl. The buzz of Justin sending Selena his shirtless pics is also doing the rounds, but none of the singers are ready to admit or talk about their relationship in public. – Sampurn Wire StarBuzz Weekly -Toronto. Lindsay Lohan Calls 911 on Shady Photographer

Lindsay Lohan personally called 911 after a “high speed chase” with members of the celebrity gossip media, according to a source close to the star. “Scared and frustrated” with the paparazzi’s attention, Lohan pleaded for help and the LAPD Pacific Division responded at the scene in Venice Beach. What they found was a “very, very minor incident” however. No charges were filed, but Lindsay was shaken up. According to Lohan’s camp, the altercation was so serious she is considering asking her lawyer to go to court in a bid to get a restraining order. “One of the photographers was the same guy who followed her when she was at the Betty Ford Center in Palm Springs,” a source reports. “He drives a Prius with tinted windows and follows her everywhere, often speeding and running up to her at traffic lights. It’s stalking.” Here’s hoping no one gets hurt. Come on, guys. Give her some room. There will be plenty of chances for Lindsay Lohan pictures . Chill.

Leave Lady Gaga Alone!

Can’t a rumored hermaphrodite just watch a ballgame in peace? Apparently, Lady Gaga decided to check out the Mets game Thursday in New York, which is cool, since she’s from New York, and celebrities go to games a lot. They usually get good seats, too, and because of that and merely being celebrities, are often photographed. It’s just sort of what happens in that situation. Well, apparently Lady Gaga of all people is not keen on this. When she showed up in her traditional costume, the ” Alejeandro ” singer took issue with people photographing her and had to be moved to a luxury suite. There, she continued to flip off the photographers. Wait … Lady Gaga doesn’t want her photo taken? We love the girl, but call us crazy here – when has Lady Gaga ever not clamored for attention? It’s part of her act. You can’t just turn it on and off at will. Showing up to a game in full “Telephone” garb is not exactly inconspicuous either. Did she really expect any different as one of the top stars in music? If there’s any silver lining here for Gaga, it’s that Kristen Stewart wins for worst paparazzi attack of the year … even though hers was strictly verbal.
