Aerosmith Rockers To Present MTV Generation Award To Johnny Depp!

Steven Tyler and Joe Perry make a special MTV Movie Awards visit Sunday to celebrate their superstar friend. By Kara Warner Johnny Depp Photo: Getty Images As if we hadn’t already stacked Sunday’s MTV Movie Awards with the coolest of all cool factors in naming Johnny Depp our Generation Award recipient , two equally esteemed legends will be on hand to bestow the prestigious honor upon Depp: rock gods Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of Aerosmith. If the presenter pairing seems at all out of place, rest assured that the rockers have been chummy with Depp for some time and recently held an impromptu and well-documented jam session at the afterparty for Depp’s latest movie “Dark Shadows.” And if that trio isn’t enough to have you psyched, current “it” rockers the Black Keys will join the celebration and perform a special rendition of their hit “Gold on the Ceiling” in Depp’s honor. The MTV Generation Award is the Movie Awards’ highest honor, acknowledging an actor who can be counted on to engage the MTV audience with everything he or she does. Previous recipients include Reese Witherspoon, Sandra Bullock, Ben Stiller, Adam Sandler, Mike Myers, Tom Cruise and Jim Carrey. Tyler and Perry are the latest big names to be added to an already crazily star-studded show that will feature appearances by Jessica Biel, Kate Beckinsale, Jodie Foster, Charlie Sheen, Emma Stone, Andrew Garfield, Kristen Stewart, Chris Hemsworth, Charlize Theron, Michael Fassbender, Mila Kunis and Mark Wahlberg. “The Hunger Games” and “Bridesmaids” lead the field with eight nominations apiece, with “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2″ and ” 21 Jump Street” right behind with six nods each. Is ‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’ Headed To The Movie Awards?

MTV News spots a red velvet wall on the set that reminds us of the erotic trilogy — a sign of things to come on Sunday? By Terri Schwartz, with reporting by Jim Cantiello “Fifty Shades of Grey” Photo: The Writer’s Coffee Shop UNIVERSAL CITY, California — Something strange is happening on the MTV Movie Awards set. While scoping out what was supposed to be a rehearsal for Fun., we saw some workers rolling in … giant red plush walls? It looks a bit suspicious, if you ask us. Maybe it’s just because we have “Fifty Shades of Grey” on the mind, but our first thought when we saw the set piece was that it was a wall from a giant velvet sex room. And considering the Movie Awards’ track record of crazy epic stunts, we wouldn’t put it past anyone here. Of course, it could just be part of a normal set. With everyone from Fun. and Wiz Khalifa to the Black Keys performing at this year’s awards show, we wouldn’t be surprised if one of them was a closet “Fifty Shades” fan. Maybe we should do some digging and see if we can get some deals signed for the upcoming “Fifty Shades of Grey” movie . “Howlin’ for You” would be an appropriate first track on the album, right? “Fifty Shades” has been on many celebs’ minds recently, with everyone from Kristen Stewart and Sam Claflin to Stephenie Meyer , Selena Gomez and Brooklyn Decker talking about it. And we’d be lying if we said we weren’t enablers. We even did an “After Hours” with the “Snow White and the Huntsman” cast where we had them read certain erotic sections of the book. Trust us when we say that you haven’t lived until you’ve seen Charlize Theron read the words “oh-so-happy trail.” Head over to MovieAwards.MTV.com to vote for your favorite flicks now! Jessica Biel, Kate Beckinsale, Jodie Foster To Present At Movie Awards!

Tune in for the extra dose of girl power Sunday at 9 p.m. ET! By Ryan J. Downey Jessica Biel Photo: Bryan Bedder/ Getty Images One gal has played a vampire, another a vampire hunter and the third (and most distinguished of them all) hunted a smooth-talking killer who made up for his lack of supernatural superpowers with an overabundance of vampire-like appetite. Jessica Biel, Kate Beckinsale and Jodie Foster have been added to the list of presenters at the Sunday’s 2012 MTV Movie Awards . Biel, who hunted vampires alongside Ryan Reynolds and Wesley Snipes in “Blade: Trinity,” will hopefully keep her slaying prowess restrained around the stars from “Twilight” and the rest of the otherworldly and sci-fi types at the celeb-packed affair. Beckinsale, of course, has top-lined most of the “Underworld” movies as a cool and action-oriented vamp. Of her many memorable roles, Foster will forever be connected with Hannibal Lector thanks to her Oscar-winning performance in “The Silence of the Lambs.” None of them are strangers to the Movie Awards, of course. Biel was nominated for Best Female Performance as Adam Sandler’s love interest in the comedy “I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry” four years ago. Four years before that, in 2004, the former “7th Heaven” star was nominated in the “Breakthrough Female Performance” category for the remake of “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.” Michael Bay’s World War II epic “Pearl Harbor,” co-starring Ben Affleck and Josh Hartnett, set the stage for Beckinsale’s first nomination, which was for Best Female Performance in 2002. Two years later, she was up for Best Trans-Atlantic Breakthrough Performer, and in 2006, “Underworld: Evolution” earned her a non-gender-specific nomination for Best Hero. Foster was up for Best Female Performance herself for 1994’s “Nell,” which also earned her an Oscar nomination. Biel and Beckinsale star together in “Total Recall,” the remake of the ’80s sci-fi auctioneer that sees Colin Farrell stepping in for Arnold Schwarzenegger. Foster, who last appeared in the Roman Polanski talkative dramady “Carnage,” has a sci-fi flick of her own on the way. “Elysium” co-stars Matt Damon and was written and directed by Neill Blomkamp (“District 9”). The trio of actresses just announced will join a who’s-who of presenters that includes “The Amazing Spider-Man” stars Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield; Kristen Stewart, Chris Hemsworth and Charlize Theron from this weekend’s “Snow White and the Huntsman” as well as Michael Fassbender, Mila Kunis and Mark Wahlberg. Fans will be able to choose all the winners. Voting in all 12 categories is open through Saturday, June 2, over at MovieAwards.MTV.com . It’s up to you to decide who goes onstage to collect their Golden Popcorn on Sunday. “The Hunger Games” and “Bridesmaids” lead the field with eight nominations apiece, with “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2” and “21 Jump Street” right behind with six nods each. The MTV Movie Awards will air live from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California, on Sunday, June 3, at 9 p.m. ET/PT on MTV. Will "Hunger Games" Or "Bridesmaids" Rule Movie Awards?

Sunday’s most-nominated films have the Wanted, ‘Jersey Shore’ star Deena and Big Time Rush divided. By Jocelyn Vena Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson in “Hunger Games” Photo: Lionsgate While we all know where Justin Bieber stands on the issue of “Bridesmaids” versus “Hunger Games” (hint: He prefers laughing to crying), we felt it was important to do our due diligence and reach out to other celebrities to see which of the two most-nominated films might take home more prizes at Sunday’s 2012 MTV Movie Awards . Kendall Schmidt and Carlos Pena from Big Time Rush also went for “Bridesmaids” as the night’s big winner, with Pena telling MTV News he thinks he’s “in love” with Kristen Wiig — “a little bit.” Siva Kaneswaran from the Wanted was banking on “The Hunger Games,” and bandmate Jay McGuiness had a very good reason. “Me and Max [George] Googled Jennifer Lawrence. We were very happy with the results,” he laughed. Deena Cortese from “Jersey Shore” also seemed pretty sure that Jennifer Lawrence’s dystopian flick will beat Kristen Wiig’s female-driven comedy about the perils of weddings: “I think “Hunger Games” might take it.” The films will not only face off in the Movie of the Year category, but also in Best Female Performance, Best Cast and Breakthrough Performance. To find out which movie will take home more Golden Popcorn, check out the 2012 MTV Movie Awards this Sunday at 9 p.m. ET/PT. The show will be hosted by Russell Brand and feature performances from Fun. , the Black Keys, Martin Solveig and Wiz Khalifa . It all goes down live at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California, this Sunday. Head over to MovieAwards.MTV.com to vote for your favorite flicks now! The Bridesmaids Vs. Ryan Gosling: Who Wrenched Your Guts?

Five cringe-worthy scenes vie for the Best Gut-Wrenching Performance at the MTV Movie Awards. Vote for your pick on MTV.com! By Kara Warner Ryan Gosling in “Drive” Photo: FilmDistrict Of all the unique and outlandish categories that the MTV Movie Awards have been known for each year, 2012’s new addition, Best Gut-Wrenching Performance , might be the most unique, outlandish and downright cringe-worthy of all. So what is a gut-wrenching moment? For our purposes, it is that one unforgettable scene in a recent movie that was so outrageous, disturbing or just plain gross that you had a physical reaction whilst watching it. A literal wrenching of your guts. No matter your reaction to this year’s very diverse nominees, be it the poo pies, head stomping or group food poisoning, we can almost guarantee the nominated moments in this new category left an impression on you. Here’s a closer look at those five gut-wrenching movie moments: Bryce Dallas-Howard, “The Help” For those who’ve seen “The Help,” there’s not much to say about this other than revenge is best served cold, in the form of a poo-laced pie. In the scene, Dallas-Howard — a double nominee this year — who plays the cringe-worthy and hateful villain Hilly Holbrook, scarfs down what looks to be a delicious chocolate pie. Hilly and the audience soon find out that the pie has an extra “special” ingredient: poop. Jonah Hill and Rob Riggle, “21 Jump Street” Moving on to our next nominee, from poop to a detached penis. (Did we mention these moments are gut-wrenching?) In the final few minutes of one of the year’s funniest comedies, “21 Jump Street,” Jonah Hill accidentally shoots off Rob Riggle’s penis, after which the handcuffed and injured party is forced to retrieve his dismembered man parts with his mouth. Bonus fact about this scene: Riggle improvised the mouth pick-up . Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, Rose Byrne, Melissa McCarthy, Wendi McLendon-Covey and Ellie Kemper, “Bridesmaids” While there are multiple memorable scenes in “Bridesmaids,” one of them stands out as the messiest. While shopping at a swanky boutique for their dresses, the bride and her five bridesmaids are simultaneously hit with a tidal wave of food poisoning that causes them to lose their lunch in every conceivable way. Ryan Gosling, “Drive” While Ryan Gosling made many women swoon with his wooing of Emma Stone in “Crazy, Stupid, Love,” his turn as the cold, calculated and deadly driver in “Drive” had the opposite effect. Gosling’s most gut-wrenching scene is a furious display of skull stomping never before seen on film. Talk about cringe-worthy, that elevator stomp is off the charts. Tom Cruise, “Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol” This last nominated moment is the least gross of the bunch and also the most impressive given the physical feat achieved to produce it. In “Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol,” Tom Cruise’s super spy Ethan Hunt scales the planet’s tallest building, Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, in a race against a nuclear clock. Cruise actually performed the stunt, which required him to dangle a mere 2,700 feet from the ground. Head over to MovieAwards.MTV.com to vote for your favorite flicks now!
