Superhero movie, due Stateside in early May, is already breaking records in foreign markets. By Kevin P. Sullivan Chris Evans as Captain America In “The Avengers” Photo: Walt Disney Studios The Avengers have already started to assemble overseas, and early box-office reports are spelling very good things for Marvel’s tentpole. The superhero movie that brings together Captain America, Iron Man, Thor and the Hulk has reportedly made $12.5 million in a handful of foreign markets and is already breaking records, according to The Hollywood Reporter. In Australia, ” The Avengers ” has already banked $7 million, a total that has only been beaten by ” Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2 ,” which earned $8 million during its Down Under debut. The foreign rollout has proven lucrative elsewhere, too, as France added $3 million to the total. Early tracking estimated that “The Avengers” could make more than $150 million during its early May opening weekend in the U.S. That would put the film in the same class as “Spider-Man 3,” “The Hunger Games,” “The Dark Knight” and “Deathly Hallows, Part 2.” This could potentially mean the biggest debut for a Marvel Studios movie yet. ” Iron Man 2 ” currently holds that honor. The Robert Downey Jr. sequel opened to $128 million back in 2010. That’s followed by the first ” Iron Man ” at $98 million. “The Avengers” has the added advantage of higher ticket prices. The film is playing both in 3-D and in IMAX 3-D, so each individual ticket will add more to the final total. “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2” saw a large bump in its record-breaking run thanks in part to higher prices attached to 3-D showings. Drizzy says that while a lot of Take Care was down, he will switch up the tempo for his next album. By Rob Markman Drake Photo: John Shearer/ Getty Images Since he dropped his breakout tape So Far Gone in 2009, Drake has been consistently going through changes. With each music project, he documents his ever-evolving life, so fans shouldn’t expect that to change when he finally releases his third LP. Drizzy didn’t want to give too much away, but from the sound of things, it’ll be much different from his sophomore effort Take Care . “I think that my mood will be reflected in the tempos that I choose for the music,” Drake said of his next LP during a press conference call Tuesday. “A lot of Take Care, it’s down, a lot of it’s down and I think a lot of that had to do with being back home in Toronto and getting reacquainted with the life I had before and the difficulties of that, but at the same time trying to express excitement and trying to express joy.” Though he still keeps a place in his native Toronto, Drake has recently moved to L.A. The relocation has already sparked musical ideas for the Young Money star. “There’s just so much going on for me in the U.S. that I recently made the move to L.A.,” he said. “It’s a new atmosphere, getting to know new people. It’s going to be a very interesting album.” Drake told MTV News that with Take Care, he was telling a story inspired by his 2009 track “Houstatlantavegas.” On the song, Drake created a fictional world, describing a love affair with an ambitious stripper who can’t quite get out of the life. “It was a world that was very much real to me, but I created it in my mind. It was a world that, being a kid from Toronto, I used to look at from the outside and I used to be like, ‘Man that looks crazy,’ ” he told us. “All those strip clubs and all those nightclubs and the drinks and the girls and the fame.” Things have evolved in the months since he released Take Care. “Now I’m kind of in a very, very, very, very different place than I’ve ever been,” Drake said. “I think it will be conceptually one of the best projects that I’ve ever worked on because there’s so many new things going on in my life. Everybody knows when it’s new, that’s when I thrive.” What is your favorite Drake mixtape or album? Tell us in the comments! Related Photos Drake’s Style: From A To Drizzy Related Artists Drake

Director also opens up on ‘Beetlejuice’ sequel and whether he’d return to ‘Batman.’ By John Mitchell, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Johnny Depp in “Dark Shadows” Photo: Warner Bros Fans of the classic late-’60s soap “Dark Shadows” were surprised when the trailer for the film made it seem like director Tim Burton had reimagined his subject matter as a farcical comedy rather than the dark, Gothic soap opera fans remembered. Since then, there have been whispers that the film is far darker than it is being marketed, so we went straight to the source to find out what is really up with the buzzed-about film. At CinemaCon 2012, MTV News asked Burton if he felt the trailer is reflective of his film, which hits theaters May 11, and while he admits there are humorous elements to the film, he said he doesn’t believe it can be classified as a comedy. “Everything that’s in [the trailer] is in the movie,” Burton told MTV News. “It’s a funny film for me, because I never considered it a comedy. I was always trying to capture the weird vibe of ‘Dark Shadows,’ which is a weird thing to try to capture. It was a weird daytime soap opera.” Burton, a longtime “Shadows” fan who said he “recalls the show affectionately,” said that whatever humor is in the film is there because the situation Barnabas is in when he is unearthed 200 years after being buried is innately humorous. “It’s not like I’m being campy with it or anything,” Burton said. “The guy’s been locked in a box for 200 years, and [when] he comes out … something weird is going to happen.” As for comparisons to his previous films, most notably “Edward Scissorhands,” Burton said he can see the link, but confessed that there are many subtle differences between Barnabas Collins and any other character he’s put onscreen. “Edward Scissorhands was more of a naive character. Barnabas has been around the block a few times,” Burton told MTV News with a laugh. “There is something about a character who doesn’t quite fit into the world, which is similar, just in this case, he’s been around a long time.” Burton also gave us up-to-date news on one project many of his biggest fans are very excited for: “Beetlejuice 2.” The film is being written by “Shadows” scribe Seth Grahame-Smith, and for Burton, that’s as far as things have gotten. “He’s working away on it,” the director said of Grahame-Smith, “so I’m just waiting to see what he does.” As for whether we can expect him to make a return to “Batman,” the film franchise he started with the original 1989 blockbuster, he was straight to the point, saying, “I think I have enough on my plate.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Dark Shadows.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . Wiz will address Kanye’s ‘Way Too Cold’ shout-out on ‘Hip Hop POV’ tonight at midnight on MTV. By Rob Markman, with reporting by Sway Calloway Wiz Khalifa on “RapFix Live” Photo: Natasha Chandel/ MTV News What’s not to like about all-around good guy Wiz Khalifa ? Sure, rumors of a Kanye West /Wiz beef swirled after Khalifa began dating Yeezy’s old flame Amber Rose, but credit both men with keeping level heads. The Pittsburgh MC stopped by “RapFix Live” on Wednesday, and we premiered an exclusive clip from his appearance on “Hip Hop POV,” , which will air on MTV tonight at midnight. In the clip, Wiz reacts to Kanye’s “Way Too Cold” lyric: “The whole industry wanna f— ya old chick/ Only n—a I got respect for is Wiz.” “I took it as he knows I’m a good guy,” Wiz told the “POV” panel. “He really was into her, so the fact that we’re two great people that are treating each other well, he’s coming down and saying, ‘Hey, hats off to you.’ That’s how I see it.” Khalifa told “RapFix Live” host Sway Calloway he doesn’t mind answering the Kanye question. “It doesn’t really bother me because it’s something that people are gonna always be interested in,” he said. “It’s something that if I try to fight it then somebody is gonna do it to try to annoy me and then what am I gonna do then? So I just accept it for what it is and keep it pushing man. I got a whole positive campaign and it’s all love.” Does that mean that we can expect to hear a Wiz and Kanye collabo? Sway hit the “Black and Yellow” MC with a hypothetical scenario: If Kanye offered up a free beat, would Wiz use it? “I dunno,” he answered. “If I sent him a verse, do you think he would like it and want to use it for his album?” Wiz then asked Sway. Hypothetical situations aside, Wiz didn’t completely shut the door on working with ‘Ye, if the circumstances were right. For him, it’s all about the art. “That’s what it’s all about though, it’s about the culture and the creativity factor,” he said. Would you like to hear a Wiz Khalifa/Kanye collabo? Where’s Colton Dixon when you need him? We share song suggestions for the top six. By Gil Kaufman and James Montgomery “American Idol” top six Photo: FOX Every year, there’s one “American Idol” theme week that proves to be the equalizer. Sometimes it’s disco night, or performance episodes dedicated to Frank Sinatra, Gloria Estefan, big band or Bon Jovi. Wednesday night’s (April 25) Queen motif could be the one that trips up some of this year’s most promising contenders. What a time to be missing the show’s resident glamo (that’s glam and emo smushed together) rocker, Colton Dixon ! Though both of us are huge fans of the pioneering British stadium rockers, is there any band whose music feels less relevant at this cultural moment? In other words, six seasons after Simon and the gang first took us on a trip down “Fat Bottom Girls” lane, it’s the obvious choice for “Idol” as the show steams — or limps — toward next month’s finale. All snark aside, Wednesday night could belong to Elise Testone, since she’s the only one left who understands the intricate velvety folds of late singer Freddie Mercury’s bombastic voice. Also, if it was up to us, someone would have to do a song from the hugely underrated 1981 soundtrack to “Flash Gordon” (AAAH-AAAH!) but that’s for another time. Of course, as is seemingly required by law, there’s also going to be a second hour of “Idol,” in which the top six will sing a song of their choice (like, it could be anything), so in anticipation of some “Killer Queen” and whatever comes after, MTV News’ resident “Idol” know-it-alls, Gil Kaufman and James Montgomery, are back with their carefully considered song suggestions for the remaining “Idol” hopefuls: Hollie Cavanagh Let’s get it right out of the way: Bottom-three squatter Hollie continues to live on borrowed time. Queen’s music is all about emotion and showy delivery, and the British cowgirl has proven time and again that those qualities are a taller order than, well, her. That said, she could soar with one of the band’s many rich ballads, such as “You’re My Best Friend” or “Somebody to Love.” For her song choice: Mariah Carey ‘s “Hero,” just because. — Kaufman It would be fitting if she did “Another One Bites the Dust,” since she’s probably toast this week. Instead, she’ll do one of Queen’s excellent power ballads, like “Spread Your Wings” or “Save Me” (even though America won’t). As for her other song? I don’t even know where to begin. When she auditioned in season 10, she did a couple of Miley Cyrus tunes, so I’ll just say she does “The Climb” again. Hollie really inspires enthusiasm, if you couldn’t tell. — Montgomery Joshua Ledet Josh has pretty much been able to sing anything thrown his way so far, but Queen could be a serious roadblock. Though their songs have plenty of flavor, it’s not necessarily the gospel-y kind he favors. He should probably take the safe route and put some of his soul on a big ballad like “I Want to Break Free.” If the Queen thing falls flat, he can redeem himself with something young, sexy and firmly in his lane like Chris Brown’s “Beautiful People.” — Kaufman He’s got the pipes — and the burgeoning ego — to take on the entirety of “Bohemian Rhapsody,” but he’d be better served channeling all those vocal histrionics (and craziness) into three-and-a-half minutes of “Don’t Stop Me Now.” And then we could call him Mr. Fahrenheit instead of Mantasia. For his second song, dude, I don’t know. He should just do a Fantasia song again. Any of them. — Montgomery Jessica Sanchez It’s been an up-and-down ride for the once-infallible Sanchez, but she should cruise this week, and I’m going to suggest she go rogue and sing the 1981 David Bowie/Queen collabo “Under Pressure,” which has a dynamic range that could let her show off those pipes. And she has to do Beyonc

On April 23rd 2012 I met the whole Bieber crew. I had already met Alfredo before but that day was amazing. We went to his hotel and there were over 200 screaming fans. We were all chanting, “We want Bieber”. He came to the window and was doing all kinds of funny faces. Then we got chatting to a photographer and he told us where Justin was going to so we got a taxi to the secret location in London. We just got out the cab and Alfredo and Kenny were already there. I went up to Alfredo and said hi and he told me he remembered me from somewhere. I told him where and he was like yeah and gave me a hug. Then everyone went in and we got interviewed by the Evening Standard. We waited for about an hour and got talking to a coach driver who we were mucking about with. The coach driver who we called ‘Uncle Rodger’ said, “Look it’s him”. We thought he was joking around until we looked and there was Justin standing at the door. We went to the door and said, “Shh we will be quiet promise”. Then he told Moshe and his dad let them in and we went into this little stairway. We all got in a group photo and then I turned around because he was behind me and said, “Thanks Justin. This is off my bucket list” and he replied with, “You’re welcome beautiful”. I almost died. Jeremy took my photos for me and I couldn’t be more grateful. After we left, we screamed so much and then we went back and Alfredo and Scooter had come out. I got photos with them both and Scooter took my Sharpie and put it in his mouth haha. I also got my book signed by Scooter and Jeremy took all my photos. Thank you Justin for letting us come in, it ment the world to us. -@mollymayaliice Go here to read the rest: On April 23rd 2012 I met the whole Bieber crew. I had already…
