Read on and share your birthday wishes for the pop princess! A: April 27. On that day, Gaga will launch what’s sure to be one of the year’s most spectacular spectacles at the Olympic Stadium in Seoul, Korea, which brings us to … B: … Born This Way Ball ! We were there when Gaga announced the name of the tour in Atlantic City, New Jersey, last year, and it has been hinted that we can expect an “electro pop opera.” She had us at “opera.” C: Castle. Mother Monster tweeted an image of the stage design for the tour, and the elaborate gothic castle has us excited. D: “Dark.” Gaga’s former creative director, Laurieann Gibson, opened up just last week about why she parted ways with the pop star, telling “ET Canada” that Gaga’s ideas “got a little dark for me creatively.” E: Elton John . The godmother to John’s adopted son, Gaga has teased a duet with the “Rocket Man” singer for her next album. F: Fernando Garibay . The musical director behind Born This Way told MTV News that the new album already has a title and concept. G: Gothic. Veils, brooches and lots of black: Gaga has adopted a gothic theme for her tour, but also in her fashion choices. H: “Heavy Metal Lover.” This jam has been begging for radio play; at the very least, the BTW cut should make it to the tour set list. I: Inez & Vinoodh. Justin Bieber Will Change ‘The Landscape’ With Believe

Producer Mike Posner says Bieber’s next album will make pop artists ‘go back to the drawing board.’ By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Kara Warner Justin Bieber Photo: Ethan Miller/ Getty Images This week, Justin Bieber dropped his single “Boyfriend,” marking his first step toward making more mature-sounding pop tunes. Co-producer Mike Posner told MTV News that Bieber’s upcoming Believe album displays how far he’s come since the sugary sweet ditties of his My World days. “I think our goal was to make something that me and my friends could listen to in the car,” Posner explained. “I think we’ve all known Justin since he was13, and that’s not the kid I was in the studio with anymore. He’s an 18-year-old. He skateboards with Lil Wayne and hangs out with Lil Twist. Those are his homies. And he listens to hip-hop and he’s a really cool kid. He’s not like a corny guy. “So I wanted to make something that reflected who he is now and who he is going to continue to be,” he continued. “We’re still working more on the project and it sounds really incredible. I think people have been waiting [for] when he’s going to turn that corner, and the time is now.” But Believe isn’t going to change just Bieber’s career, but all of pop music, Posner added. “He’s kind of bringing soul back, and rhythm and blues back and definitely hip-hop into his music. I’m really excited to see how it’s going to change the landscape, and I know a lot of artists are going to have to go back to the drawing board.” “Boyfriend” is the lead single off Believe, which will drop later this year. A video is currently in the works, but no release date has been announced. Do you like Justin Bieber’s new sound on “Boyfriend”? Leave your comment below! ‘Hunger Games’ Star Liam Hemsworth: What’s Next?

Two films with Dwayne Johnson, a Vietnam War romance and ‘The Expendables 2’ are in the Aussie actor’s future. By Fallon Prinzivalli Liam Hemsworth Photo: MTV News With “The Hunger Games” slaughtering its competition at the box office this past weekend, everyone’s eyes are locked on the movie’s three main stars to see what’s next. For those of you who loved Liam Hemsworth ‘s short but sweet scenes as Katniss Everdeen’s best friend, Gale, you’re in luck. While we’re sure the Aussie actor is enjoying the benefits of working hard on the film, he’s not sitting around waiting to film the sequel. He has quite a few other films in the works. Here’s a list of what to look forward to from the youngest Hemsworth brother. First on the list is his role as Bill “the Kid” Timmons, the newest addition to Sylvester Stallone’s team, in “The Expendables 2.” Mr. Church, played by Bruce Willis, enlists the Expendables for a job that seems like an easy paycheck. But when a member of the crew is brutally murdered, the Expendables seek revenge and find themselves on enemy turf with an unexpected threat looming over their heads. Also returning to the movie are Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture and Terry Crews. Yu Nan joins Hemsworth as another of the team’s newcomers in the film, which is set to release on August 17. After watching Hemsworth battle it out in that action flick, you can catch him in a different type of warring film titled “AWOL.” Based on a true story, the film follows a young Vietnam soldier who returns home to the States in search of his newly ex-girlfriend. Austin Stowell plays the broken-hearted soldier, Joiner, and Aimee Teegarden plays Juniper, his high school sweetheart. Hemsworth stars as Joiner’s best friend, Wright, who accompanies him on the risky journey. The backdrop of the film, which will be released later this year, is the anti-war movement at the University of Michigan. Josh Hutcherson isn’t the only ‘Hunger Games’ actor who may be working with Dwyane “The Rock” Johnson. Next year, Hemsworth will star alongside the wrestler-turned-actor in “Empire State.” Also based on a true story, the movie follows a plan set in motion by two childhood friends (one of whom will be played by Hemsworth) to rob an armored car depository. Johnson plays a NYPD officer who attempts to stop the cash heist, and Emma Roberts joins the cast as a waitress who takes interest in Hemsworth’s character. Then, in 2014, Johnson and Hemsworth will reunite for “Arabian Nights.” The tale weaves together some of our favorite adventures as a young commander named Ali Baba (Hemsworth) teams up with Sinbad (Johnson), Aladdin and Aladdin’s genie in order to rescue Scheherazade and her kingdom from the dark forces of a sorcerer. And, of course, you will see Hemsworth reprise his role as Gale Hawthorne in the November 22, 2013 release of “Catching Fire.” Gale will be in the picture more often this time around, and we’re excited to see how Hemsworth develops the character. ‘Hunger Games’ Ignites Box Office: Experts Weigh In

One box-office watcher tells MTV News the book adaptation was ‘the hottest party around and nobody wanted to be left out.’ By Kevin P. Sullivan Wes Bentley as Seneca Crane in “The Hunger Games” Photo: Lionsgate We all knew “The Hunger Games” would debut to enormous opening-weekend numbers, but few could have predicted just how quickly the fire would spread. The YA adaptation opened to an incredible $155 million weekend, passing up “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” and “Spider-Man 3” to have the third-highest opening weekend behind “The Dark Knight” and “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2.” Early predictions had “The Hunger Games” opening at a respectable $70 million, not even half the actual total and in range of this year’s “The Lorax,” another recent box-office surprise. As the release drew nearer, analysts bumped up the predicted total to a range of $125 million to $130 million. The reason for the initially low prediction lies with another YA series, according to Jeff Bock of Exhibitor Relations . “Many people were comparing this to the original ‘Twilight’ film, which grossed $69 million its opening weekend,” Bock said. “Even though the book series was a huge success, many other young adult novels have been translated to film recently and failed to produce the next ‘Harry Potter’ or ‘Twilight,’ so, as an unproven commodity, expectations were tempered a bit with ‘The Hunger Games.’ Even Lionsgate was estimating that the film would debut with a three-day weekend gross of $75 million earlier in the week; they certainly didn’t expect it to nearly eclipse that number on opening day.” Wanna win a Hunger Games special edition HP laptop from MTV News? Click here to enter! The strong push out of the gate came from a combination of an aggressive marketing campaign by Lionsgate and groundswell created by fans of Suzanne Collins’ best-selling books. Gitesh Pandya of Box Office Guru said it was a precise combination of those key factors that led to such an explosive opening weekend. “The record opening was driven by the loyal fanbase, which is humongous, along with a carefully crafted marketing push that intrigued them and also drew in new audiences in time for the movie’s release,” Pandya said. “Marketing was a key component to the massive debut, as the film wasn’t over-promoted to the point of repelling people. Lionsgate turned the opening weekend of ‘Hunger Games’ into the hottest party around and nobody wanted to be left out.” Lionsgate is certainly not wasting any time in trying to repeat the magic of their biggest hit to date. Production on the sequel, “Catching Fire,” is scheduled to begin this summer with a release tentatively set for November 2013. Pandya believes the next adventure of Katniss Everdeen could even go bigger. “Studios knew to stay out of the way of ‘Hunger Games,’ which is why no other film opened wide this weekend. But now they know how big of a juggernaut it is, and if history is any indicator, the opening of ‘Catching Fire’ will be even bigger in November 2013,” Pandya said. “And unless Disney changes its superhero date, we’re going to see a big-brother battle as Liam Hemsworth’s ‘Catching Fire’ will open just one week after Chris Hemsworth’s ‘Thor 2.’ ” What did you think of The Hunger Games? ‘Hunger Games’ Rakes In $155 Million At Box Office

‘Games’ had third-highest opening ever, beating out all ‘Twilight Saga’ movie openings and every non-sequel ever made. By Ryan J. Downey Josh Hutcherson in “The Hunger Games” Photo: Lionsgate Much like Katniss Everdeen herself, “The Hunger Games” ‘ aim was true. When it comes to box-office records, it’s hard to keep a good book down. “The Hunger Games” beat all of the “Twilight Saga” movies and every single non-sequel ever with the third-biggest opening weekend of all time. The big-screen adaptation of the first novel in the massively popular young adult trilogy collected $155 million domestically, a figure that was just $3.4 million less than “The Dark Knight” opening in 2008. (“Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2” is still #1 with $169.1 million). Audiences gave the movie a CinemaScore of “A.” “The Hunger Games” collected an estimated $19.7 million in midnight screenings alone. Librarians, academics and bookworms of all stripes should note that all of the movies in the top five “all-time” list are based on some sort of printed source material. “Potter,” “Dark Knight,” “Hunger Games,” “Spider-Man 3” ($151 million) and “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” ($142 million) were, of course, all drawn from either novels or long-running comic book characters. “The Hunger Games” made another $59.3 million overseas, which is about on par with the debuts of the opening installments in both the “Twilight” and “Harry Potter” franchises. The next installment in author Suzanne Collins’ trilogy, “Catching Fire,” will see its film adaptation arrive in November of next year. But “Hunger Games” star Jennifer Lawrence will be back in theaters well before that. The 21-year-old Oscar nominee’s new horror flick, “House at the End of the Street,” is due September 21. MTV News will exclusively unveil the full trailer for the movie online this Thursday morning. The latest from “Hush” director Mark Tonderai will see Lawrence in a role much different than skilled archer Katniss Everdeen, as she’ll play a high school student who gets tangled up with a guy who has very dark secrets. “House” had an estimated production budget of $7 million for Relativity Media, which is standard issue for the genre. That’s quite a bit less than the $78 million Lionsgate spent on “The Hunger Games,” but the indie studio surely isn’t sweating that number: It’s already the biggest movie on record for the home of the “Saw” franchise. “The Hunger Games” had an 85 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes at press time, which is exactly the same as last weekend’s #1 film, “21 Jump Street.” The comedically driven movie version of the earnest late ’80s TV drama about cops who went undercover in high schools was #2 this week with $21.3 million, for a total of $71 million. “Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax,” which enjoyed the eighth-highest debut for an animated movie earlier this month, was #3 with $13.1 million and a $177.3 million total. “John Carter” was #4 with $5 million for a $62.3 million total, and “Act of Valor” rounded out the top five with $2 million for a $66 million total. Although those totals are similar, “John Carter” carried a reported production budget of $250 million while “Valor” was made for $12 million. Justin Bieber Ripe For Spoofing, ‘Stevie TV’ Star Says

‘Guys are like, ‘I don’t know what it is, but you’re really hot,’ comedian Stevie Ryan says of playing the teen superstar on VH1 show. By Christina Garibaldi Justin Bieber Photo: Barry King/ FilmMagic Stevie Ryan may make fun of Justin Bieber on her new VH1 show “Stevie TV,” but the actress and the pop star actually have something cool in common: They were both discovered on YouTube. Ryan began her career impersonating celebrities and creating her own characters on her YouTube channel and instantly became an Internet star. Now the 26-year-old comedian gets to do her routines on VH1, portraying some of today’s biggest celebs and reality TV stars. “It’s just a female’s perspective on pop culture, really, at least that’s the way I think about it,” Ryan told MTV News on Tuesday. “It’s really just kind of making fun of pop culture, what’s happening in it, just making fun of these celebrities that are rewarded for bad behavior.” So far on “Stevie TV,” Ryan has created a music video that mocks Katy Perry ‘s “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F),” gotten into character as Lady Gaga and done some cross-dressing to get into one of her favorite roles, Justin Bieber. Ryan explained that Bieber has been the most fun to play “because I always tell everybody how guys and girls always like me when I’m Justin Bieber. … Girls are like, ‘You’re so cute, like, are you really a girl ?’ And then guys are like, ‘I don’t know what it is, but you’re really hot.’ But I really like playing everybody,” she laughed. And though she may poke fun at celebrities, Ryan said she’s really a fan of most of the stars … except maybe one. “I just thought, ‘What a great way to kind of show that this is what the younger generation is growing up with, that who little girls like, is Kim Kardashian,’ ” Ryan said. “It’s just observing these weird behaviors and finding a place for them that makes sense because you can always make fun of Kim Kardashian — she has a big butt, she made a sex tape — but at the same time you have to step back and look at the big picture; people are actually wanting to be like this.” As for future episodes, Ryan really wants to impersonate a certain Young Money rapper. “I would like to do Nicki Minaj,” Ryan revealed. “There’s nothing that I want to make fun of about her, because I’m obsessed with her and I really, really love her.” Asked if she’s gotten any backlash yet for the sometimes harsh jokes on her show, Ryan said she hasn’t, but she’s ready if it comes her way. “It hasn’t happened before and I’d give a flying f— about what any of them have to say,” Ryan said. “Because I’m just doing my job just like they are and so whatever, if anyone has anything to say, bring it!” “Stevie TV” airs Sundays at 11 p.m. ET on VH1. John Cena Says Vote Metallica In Musical March Madness … Or Else

WWE superstar gives props to band’s ‘in-your-face, time-to- fight music.’ Voting in round two ends Sunday at midnight! By James Montgomery, with reporting by Rob Markman John Cena Photo: MTV News Voting in the second-round of MTV’s Musical March Madness is entering the home stretch and, well, it’s not looking good for Metallica. After disposing of fellow titans Guns N’ Roses in round one , James Hetfield and company currently trail upset-minded Sum 41 by an “Unforgiven”-size margin … and appear headed for the void. Of course, there’s still plenty of time to change things — voting in all second-round matchups closes Sunday at midnight ET — and, as luck would have it, Metallica are getting support from a rather unlikely source: WWE superstar John Cena, who would like to strongly encourage you to vote for his favorite band. And we mean strongly. “If you don’t vote Metallica strong, you ain’t been around music. They’re my vote to take it,” Cena told MTV News. “Because, like I say, I use music for energy. I’m involved in a lot of physical activity, a lot of times when you’re tired, you need to find energy from somewhere, and music evokes emotion. And Metallica, I don’t care who you are, they play ‘Enter Sandman’ at Yankee Stadium, and it’s a wrap.” So no offense to Sum 41, but for Cena, there’s nothing quite like the surge of “Sandman.” And while he’s probably got his mind on other things (like his year-in-the-making match with the Rock at WrestleMania XXVIII), he’ll be pulling for Metallica to make a comeback and advance to the Sweet 16. Why? Vote for your favorite band, discuss and share on Facebook and Twitter in the MTV Musical March Madness interactive bracket! “[Their music] transcends race, creed, color, sex, age; it’s just hard-hitting, in-your-face, time-to- fight music,” he snarled. “That’s my type of stuff right there.” And who’s man enough to disagree with that? MTV’s 2012 Musical March Madness tournament has reached the second round. Voting runs until midnight ET on Sunday, March 25, and winners are determined by fan votes, so if your favorite act is still alive, it’ll be up to you to guide them to glory. You can rally the troops on Twitter using the hashtag #MMM or by downloading one of our custom badges — but get ready, it only gets more difficult from here on out.
