Bruce Springsteen Added To Grammys Lineup

By Gil Kaufman Bruce Springsteen Photo: WireImage Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will join the already superstar-heavy lineup of performers booked for the Grammy Awards on February 12. The 20-time Grammy-winning rock icon will take the stage to promote his upcoming studio album, Wrecking Ball, the first release since the death last summer of saxophone player and Springsteen right-hand man Clarence Clemons . In addition to Springsteen, the producers of the 54th annual Grammys announced another round of presenters as well, including actor Jack Black, Fergie, Roots drummer ?uestlove and Beatles drummer Ringo Starr. Other presenters include Drake, Gwyneth Paltrow, Miranda Lambert and Dierks Bentley. The Springsteen announcement came just a day after Katy Perry was also added to the show. The currently blue-haired pop star is up for Record of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance for her feel-good empowerment track, “Firework.” Adele announced her Grammy appearance on Tuesday. The long-rumored performance marks her first since a November vocal surgery. “I’m immensely proud to have been asked to perform at this year’s Grammy Awards,” Adele said. “It’s an absolute honor to be included in such a night and for it to be my first performance in months is very exciting and of course nerve-racking, but what a way to get back into it all.” Rihanna, Coldplay, Taylor Swift, Paul McCartney, Foo Fighters, Bruno Mars, Kelly Clarkson, Jason Aldean and Nicki Minaj are also confirmed to perform live at the show, which will be hosted by LL Cool J. Are You Ready For “The Real Preacher Wives of Atlanta?”

For those of you who just can’t get enough of Nene, Sheree, Phaedra, Cynthia, Marlo, Kim and Kandi, those vivacious southern vixens from the Peach State, TLC has something that is sure to peak your interest. Partnering with True Entertainment, the production company behind The Real Housewives of Atlanta , the network announced that it is working on a project tentatively titled Preacher Wives that will follow the lives of the “First Ladies” of Atlanta churches, reports the Hollywood Reporter . In a statement, True Entertainment president, Steven Weinstock, shared his excitement about this unexpected partnership and also the rationale behind the new series: “We are excited to work with TLC to profile the lives of these strong-willed women. With most praise in religious communities directed towards male preachers, we are thrilled to give these remarkable ladies the spotlight they crave and deserve.” The series will follow the women as they preside over their husbands’ congregations, as well as shadow their private lives and the conflicts that inevitably arise when trying to balance both, reports THR. It should come as no surprise that TLC has decided to jump into the Wives fray. The Real Housewives franchise has proven to be a goldmine for Bravo , with an estimated $35.6 – $162 million generated in ad revenue within the last two years. With the copy-cat success of VH1′s Basketball Wives and Mob Wives, we can probably expect the same cat-fights and shenanigans from Preacher Wives ; only this time, it’s for the Lord. By Jocelyn Vena Snooki Photo: MTV At this point, Kristin Cavallari stands as the only MTV reality starlet expecting a bundle of joy. On Wednesday (February 1), a rumor began to spread that “Jersey Shore” star Snooki is pregnant with her first child. But those rumors, it seems, are false. “There’s no truth to the reports,” a rep for the MTV star told MTV News. So, what led everyone to believe that Snooki might be a mom very soon? Well, a source close to the star reportedly told Radaronline.com that she and her boyfriend Jionni LaValle (who is featured on the show) had been telling only close friends and family that they were expecting a baby. “She’s been telling people that she has a big announcement coming,” the source said, adding that the baby may have been a story line in the upcoming Snooki/JWoww spin-off. For now, Snooki’s lovable onscreen antics will remain baby-free. The two-time nominee was announced as the latest performer on Wednesday (February 1). The currently blue-haired pop star is up for Record of the Year for her feel-good empowerment track, “Firework.” The Teenage Dream single is also up for Best Pop Solo Performance. This is hardly her first time performing on the show. At the 2011 Grammys , she performed her songs “Not Like the Movies” and “Teenage Dream.” The Valentine-themed performance also included the debut of footage from her wedding to her now-estranged husband, Russell Brand. In 2009, Perry performed her breakthrough hit “I Kissed a Girl” surrounded by giant, glittering pieces of prop fruit. And in 2010 she took the stage at the Grammy Nominations show and sang her ubiquitous candy-coated track, “California Gurls.” The same day that Perry was announced as a performer, fellow nominee Drake was announced as one of the night’s big presenters, along with Gwyneth Paltrow, Miranda Lambert and Dierks Bentley. Topless Actress’s Iran Ban Sparks Slightly Icky Solidarity Protest (NSFW)

Controversial Iranian actress Golshifteh Farahani was recently banned from her homeland after the French fashion magazine Madame Le Figaro published topless photos of her, thus prompting a support page on Facebook featuring other Iranian activists posing topless or entirely nude. Oy, guys, you’re doing it wrong. I’m all for freedom and would love to see things like A Separation ‘s dual Oscar nominations and Farahani’s personal choices and just basic human rights of filmmakers like Jafar Panahi respected. Yes to all these things! But let’s be honest: If your goal is to raise global awareness with a Facebook page in Farahani’s name, then you’re probably best off not turning the site into some lo-fi variation on AdultFriendFinder — which was never especially hi-fi to begin with. (Click the image at right for a NSFW look.) I doubt that the conservative-minded leaderships of both Facebook and Iran will be down with this, and then what? We’re right back where we started. Anyway, the page is currently hovering around 3,500 likes. I’d lend it some #ConsiderUggie juice , but he’s nude in his photos, too, so hey. Anyone want to volunteer a more persuasive approach? By Josh Wigler Alfie Allen as Theon Greyjoy in “Game Of Thrones” Photo: HBO The night is dark and full of terrors in Westeros, the fantasy land at the heart of “Game of Thrones.” But if you thought the HBO fantasy series proved its capacity for brutality and betrayal in season one, just wait: The April-debuting second season — based on George R.R. Martin’s second novel in his “Song of Ice and Fire” odyssey, “A Clash of Kings” — promises more blood and dragons than ever before. A new trailer for “Game of Thrones” season two , which hit HBO last night (January 29) ahead of the network’s premiere of the Dustin Hoffman drama “Luck,” does more than its fair share to remind you that this isn’t your comparatively tame hobbit-filled fantasy story. Keep reading for five key scenes from the latest look at “Thrones.” He Told You Not to Trust Him “Game of Thrones” has largely remained faithful to Martin’s source material, but there have been deviations along the way. Season two looks no different, based on this new trailer that sees grieving widow Catelyn Stark (Michelle Fairley) holding Petyr “Littlefinger” Baelish (Aidan Gillen) at knifepoint. It’s a scene that absolutely does not occur in the books, even if it’s one that would satisfy a lot of fans’ bloodlust toward the loyalty-free Littlefinger. But is it an editing trick or a sizeable new addition? You be the judge! Lord of the Light There are several dangerous new players in the world of Westeros come season two, but perhaps no one worth watching quite as much as Stannis Baratheon (Stephen Dillane) and his accomplice, the red priestess Melisandre (Carice van Houten). As worshippers of R’hllor, the God of Flame and Shadow, both Stannis and Melisandre will force many enemies to meet their fiery ends before season two draws to a close. The blaze of glory is briefly teased in this trailer with a look at one of Melisandre’s many night rituals. The Imp and the Spider The new trailer is bookended by a riddle that spymaster Varys (Conleth Hill) puts forth to Tyrion Lannister ( Golden Globe winner Peter Dinklage ), now acting as King’s Hand on his father Tywin’s behalf. It’s just one of many memorable interactions between the Spider and the Imp, a crucial new dynamic that’s sure to dominate much of season two. And despite his award-winning streak and his pledge that he knows “how the game is played,” don’t put too much stake in Tyrion’s confidence — even the sharpest mind could bend before a king’s cruelty. Speaking of which … Madness Landing Westeros is at war, and every city is a battleground. The historic King’s Landing is no exception, as the cruel reign of King Joffrey Baratheon (Jack Gleeson) has turned commoner against royalty. It’s a cultural shift that Joffrey and his loved ones are deservedly feeling in every possible manner, a shift that Queen Regent Cersei (Lena Headey) faces directly during a pivotal riot teased in the new trailer. The Drowned God Rises A fairly unassuming character in season one, Theon Greyjoy (Alfie Allen) becomes one of the most prominent players in the “Thrones” saga this coming season. Here, you see his not-so-triumphant return to the Iron Islands, his homeland he’s been separated from for over a decade. Though his loyalties lie with King in the North Robb Stark (Richard Madden) by nurture, Theon believes himself Ironborn by nature — and he’ll have to test that very struggle in most desperate ways as “Thrones” embarks on its next string of episodes. Katy Perry’s Hair: Why So Blue?

By Jocelyn Vena Katy Perry Photo: Jeff Bottari/ Getty Images Over the weekend, Katy Perry debuted another shade of blue hair in Las Vegas . The newer, bluer hair was more turquoise than the look she had sported weeks before on the set of an Adidas commercial . Katy is constantly changing her hair color from black to blond to pink, and seemingly every shade in between. These days, however, it seems she’s settled on blue. So, when MTV News spoke to her longtime hair colorist, Rita Hazan, she gave us the low-down on why Ms. Perry is feeling so blue these days. “Of course, being Katy, she is a lot more edgy and she’s cooler and she likes to take a lot of risks. And I love that she’s like, ‘I’m feeling a little blue, let’s go blue’ — not in her energy, just in her hair color,” Hazan explained to MTV News about the pop star’s current hair-color choice. “I felt like it’s the perfect color for her because her eyes are blue and she has the perfect skin tone to be a really vibrant, really cool, intense blue.” When Hazan first heard about Perry’s decision to deepen her locks to blue, she wanted her to be a “cobalt blue, muted cobalt blue; it’s really cool. It took me three days to come up with this color. I’m so obsessed with it. It’s like the wallpaper for my iPhone.” Since then, the color has lightened up a bit, but regardless of the shade, the hair still has everyone buzzing. “I was shocked by all the crazy reactions that people had to the blue ’cause I thought going from black to pink would have been the major reaction people would have,” she said. “But I kind of like that people are loving the blue ’cause I’m obsessed with blue. So any shade of blue, I’m loving. I know it’s not natural, but it sort of works in a natural way.” Of course, her hair color might have something to do with her recent split from Russell Brand . Kimberley Pierce, a colorist at Ion Studio in New York City, explained that she’s seen many a newly single chick come in and change up their mood with some new hair color. “They’ll come in for a consult and say, ‘My boyfriend and I just broke up and I want brown hair’ and they’re a blonde,” she said, adding that she usually has some advice for those rash decisions. “The best thing we can do for them is tell them to try a wig on first.” Whatever Katy’s reason for the shocking, eye-catching color change, Pierce added that it really works for her. “I kind of like that she got away from the pink because I feel like we’ve seen that so much. With the blue, it’s more vibrant and definitely she’s on her own with it,” she said. “She’s kind of all the way in with the blue. She’s kind of this candy-coated sort of person.
