Tyler Perry Fans Enraged Over Kim Kardashian Casting In “The Marriage Counselor”

View original post here:

It seems the chickens have come home to roost. Tyler Perry fans are none too happy over his choice of casting soon-to-be-divorced reality “star” Kim Kardashian in his latest project, The Marriage Counselor . Two weeks ago Perry announced Kardashian had been chosen to play Ava, a co-worker of Judith (Jurnee Smollett), an Ivy League educated therapist who decides to step outside of her marriage to spice up her life. Fans of the prolific director immediately took to the message boards, denouncing Perry’s choice of someone they feel to be morally questionable. In light of Kardashian recently announcing her divorce from Kris Humphries after only 72 days of marriage, Perry’s fans are even more enraged. Below are some comments from TylerPerry.com : “Mr. Perry I’ve loved your work, BUT I won’t be buying a ticket or DVD of any work featuring a reality TV personality, no matter whom. Heretofore your work has been focused and professional. As a theater professional I believe your work on stage and in film has benefited the arts community. I can think of no greater insult to arts professionals than to use a person who has no training or experience; any project including these individuals is simply cashing in on a notoriety built on disgusting displays of narcissistic self-indulgence. Please do not validate this debasement of entertainment media by employing this artless cretin” “I can tell by his comment to his fans about this woman being in this film that he is just like any other typical person when they get a lil money they start to get greedy. he does not care about his fans but about his money so if he is willing to let this one person ruin his while film then so be it. how can u let someone whose whole background is negative and gets a divorce 72 days after you get married. how is that supposed to be something positive and uplifting to your audience. that is jusy selffish to me and i believe he knows that. smh i would have picked beyonce. she is a positive role model right now” “So disappointed in you and your decision to keep Kim K. in your movie. I guess it is all about making it big at the box office, but money and popularity shouldn’t be an objective means to anything. I will not support this movie and I will tell everyone who I know not to support it as well. Sorry, but if you are going to forget the people who help you get to where you are and make such a horrendous mistake as this then you don’t deserve my time nor money. Truly not a fan anymore because what you beginning to stand for is not right.” What say you readers? Are these disgruntled fans correct in their assessment that Tyler Perry is going over to the “dark side” by casting a reality star? Or is Perry’s casting choice a clever marketing ploy to garner media attention? Share your opinions in comments section below. 50 Cent Says Rick Ross Rivalry Is Battle, Not Beef

‘He wanted to create an awareness for himself, and he did it,’ 50 tells MTV News at ‘Playground’ book signing. By Rob Markman 50 Cent Photo: MTV News For 50 Cent , battling and beefing in hip-hop are two distinctly different things. Despite his 2009 rivalry with Rick Ross , 50 said he doesn’t feel the two have a beef. After Rozay suffered two separate seizures in October, Fif responded via Twitter when a fan asked him, “Any words for Rick Ross?” “Yeah he gotta take care of his self,” the G-Unit rapper commented, later writing , “I don’t wish DEATH on him my grand father had a seizure.” At an October book signing for his new anti-bullying book, “Playground,” in New York, 50 told MTV News, “You shouldn’t wish that on anyone.” 50 said he believes Ross started the feud to raise his own rap profile: “He says it started because I looked at him the wrong way,” Fif recalled of an incident on the red carpet for the 2009 BET Awards. “That just means he wanted to compete, he wanted to move up, he wanted to create an awareness for himself, and he did it.” While the two did trade insults, specifically on Rozay’s “Mafia Music” and Fif’s “Officer Ricky,” the G-Unit general said he didn’t take the barbs personally, and in his mind, the two had a battle — not a beef. “This is why they changed the terminology from ‘battling’ to ‘beefing.’ It was always that battling was a part of the culture; they didn’t do that until Tupac and Biggie Smalls’ situation,” he said. “That’s when it became taboo to actually mention an artist’s name.” On November 1, Ross appeared on BET’s “106 & Park” and addressed 50’s tweets: “If it was genuine, I appreciate it, and if that’s the case, I thank you homey.” Did 50 Cent and Rick Ross have a battle or a beef? Is there a difference? Sound off below! Related Videos MTV News Extended Play: 50 Cent Related Photos The Evolution Of: 50 Cent

Conrad Murray Verdict: Nicki Minaj, More Celebs React

Ryan Seacrest, MJ producer Darkchild and other stars also weigh in. By James Dinh Dr. Conrad Murray reacts after the jury returned with a guilty verdict in his involuntary manslaughter trial at Los Angeles Superior Court on Monday Photo: Al Seib/Pool/Getty Images Just like Michael Jackson’s legions of die-hard fans , stars are also sounding off about the guilty verdict for former Jackson doctor Conrad Murray . Shortly after the announcement Monday afternoon (November 7), the blogosphere was flooded with celebrity opinions, from Nicki Minaj, Ryan Seacrest, sister LaToya Jackson and more. “People are cheering but there really are no winners here,” Minaj tweeted . “This has been an utter tragedy from beginning to end. #RIPMichaelJackson.” Seacrest questioned how much time Murray will actually serve behind bars, writing , “Big question is will conrad murray serve time? Judge has 20 days to sentence him, and can give him up to 4 years in prison.” MJ producer and collaborator Darkchild was content with the news, tweeting ,”#GUILTY Justice has been served but we still lost a great man, great father, greatest entertainer, and a great friend of mine! R.I.P MJ.” “VICTORY!!!!!! Michael I love you and I will continue to fight until ALL are brought to justice! Thank you EVERYONE for your love and support! It will ALWAYS be appreciated!” sister Latoya Jackson wrote on her Twitter , with the entire family also releasing a joint statement . Piers Morgan described Murray’s behavior as “unethical for a doctor.” “#ConradMurray didn’t deliberately kill #MichaelJackson, but his negligent actions allowed the death to occur,” he wrote on Twitter . Tyrese sent his wishes to the Jackson family, hoping they found closure in the ruling. “MICHAEL JACKSON YOU WILL FOREVER BE MISSED BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN… REST IN HEAVEN!! REST IN HEAVEN!! I hope the family has closure!! RIH!” he tweeted . While some celebs, like ?uestlove of the Roots, had mixed feelings about the verdict (“Guilty. now what?” he wrote ), Bravo star Patti Stanger rejoiced in the news: “The karma kat got Conrad Murray…guilty! Greed is never worth a person’s life. X0,” she tweeted . MTV News will be covering the Conrad Murray case live. Conrad Murray Verdict ‘Very Fair,’ Expert Says

‘There was so much overwhelming evidence of guilt that the defense didn’t really have much of a chance,’ Mike Cavalluzzi tells MTV News. By Kara Warner Dr. Conrad Murray reacts after the jury returned with a guilty verdict in his involuntary manslaughter trial at Los Angeles Superior Court on Monday Photo: Al Seib/ Getty Images The nearly six-week involuntary manslaughter trial against former Michael Jackson doctor Conrad Murray ended Monday afternoon (November 7) with a guilty verdict. Judge Pastor announced that Murray would be taken immediately into custody and held without bail until his sentencing hearing, scheduled for November 29. Moments after the verdict was read, MTV News spoke with Los Angeles-based criminal defense attorney Mike Cavalluzzi for his expert opinion regarding Murray’s conviction on one felony count of involuntary manslaughter in the death of Michael Jackson. “I’m not at all surprised by the verdict,” said Cavalluzzi, who is not associated with this case. “I think the prosecution did an excellent job of laying out their case, and I think that there was so much overwhelming evidence of guilt that the defense didn’t really have much of a chance. This is a very fair verdict, mainly because it isn’t a verdict that calls for any intent or any malice on the part of Dr. Murray. This is about criminal negligence, gross negligence on his part, and I think it’s a fair verdict.” Cavalluzzi also wasn’t surprised by the amount of time — nine hours — it took the jury to reach their decision. “This is about how long one would think it would take given the amount of evidence the jury had to go through,” he said. “It seems to me that perhaps the jury was a little bit media savvy in coming down with their verdict the end of a Monday morning so it would be announced early Monday afternoon. It allows them to reach the full week of the news cycle and hit all the major magazines. So it seems to me like someone on that jury knew about Us [Weekly] magazine.” Looking ahead, Cavalluzzi said more jail time isn’t necessarily in Murray’s future after the November 29 sentencing. “It’s a little bit early to tell what a fair sentence would be for Dr. Murray now. That’s the most difficult part of the process for Judge Pastor, in which he will have to seriously consider all of the mitigating factors which would lean toward Dr. Murray not doing any jail time and all of the aggravating factors that would lead toward him going to state prison,” he said. “It seems to me, at first blush, that any jail time wouldn’t be appropriate in this case given the fact that Dr. Murray has no criminal record and there truly was no malice, no intent to actually harm Michael Jackson at all. What he was really doing was succumbing to the wishes of a patient, and unfortunately, that patient was not a person whose wishes should have been succumbed to.” MTV News will be covering the Conrad Murray case live. Conrad Murray Verdict Divides Michael Jackson Fans

‘I feel like though justice was made, it really wasn’t,’ one MTV.com reader writes. By James Dinh Fans react to Conrad Murray’s involuntary manslaughter conviction Photo: Pool/ Getty Images Buzz surrounding the involuntary manslaughter trial against Michael Jackson’s former personal physician, Dr. Conrad Murray , reached a new high Monday afternoon (November 7) when the jury announced the verdict for the long-awaited case: guilty. Fans took to the comments section of MTV News, as well as our Facebook and Twitter pages, to share their opinions on the verdict, which was reached after almost nine hours of deliberation. One MTV.com user appeared somewhat pleased with the news, writing, “I feel like though justice was made, it really wasn’t. He gets 4 years prison, but then because of overcrowding gets sentenced reduced and serves at a jail. On top of that his sentence might be reduced further. Just because you have money and you are a doctor does not mean you have the right to be negligent. Michael was someone’s son, brother, uncle, father. It’s unfair. RIP MJ.” According to Twitter user xAshley_Arianax, the jury came to the right conclusion. “Well, Dr. Conrad Murray was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the death of Michael Jackson. Justice was served. RIP Michael Jackson,” she wrote. As many celebrated the verdict, others, including Christina Wixson, were on the fence about the ruling. “Man, I don’t know on this. However, I do feel that physicians take an oath…if this guy would have been found not guilty-it would make that oath and the job of physician null and void,” she wrote on MTV News’ Facebook . Jason Hubbard shared his theory about Conrad Murray: “The Dr. has responsibility and now has to pay his debt. A Doctor’s job is to help the sick not enable a drug addict because they can pay a lot of money.” Some fans of the late pop icon weren’t pleased that the doctor was only found guilty of involuntary manslaughter instead of a more severe charge. “Dr. Murray’s possible 4 year sentence does not feel like ‘justice’ for the death of a hero…. RIP Michael Jackson,” Twitter user WildeScarlette wrote. Another commenter, Katrina Maxwell, thought Murray was “guilty of breaching medical conduct due to who his client was” but “was paid all that money to do as his client instructed him.” “He’s not a murderer,” she added. According to the L.A.Times , 26-year-old RoseMo700 (born Jomo Adoula Zambia) was driving a red BMW in Inglewood around 2:30 pm, shortly after dropping his girlfriend off at work, when it was shot at. RoseMo was hit in the arm and torso, and continued driving, speeding through a red light and smashing into an unmarked police car. RoseMo succumbed to his injuries later that day, while the officer was listed in stable condition Thursday. Officials are investigating the shooting. Police told the Times that The Game is not a suspect in the case, while Waka Flocka’s publicist told L.A.
