According to NME.com , Ronson brought Zutons singer Dave McCabe onstage to play his band’s song “Valerie,” which was famously recorded by Winehouse on Ronson’s 2007 Versions covers album. Ronson, who produced the two most well-known tracks on Winehouse’s 2006 breakthrough Back to Black album, “Rehab” and “You Know I’m No Good,” dedicated “Valerie” to his troubled muse. “It’s really lovely getting to play some music here for you tonight. That’s what makes everything better,” he told the crowd at the Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich, England. “I went to her service yesterday and there was a rabbi that spoke and he said that somebody’s life is measured in deeds and not years and that’s the best thing I heard yesterday. … The genius in that woman and what she shared with us is pretty special. I’m not going to get all morbid on you. It’s just nice to be playing music to people who like good music. She is my sister, wherever she is.” In addition to the version of “Valerie,” Ronson invited members of Winehouse’s backing band onto the stage at one point for another run through “Valerie,” as well as Rumble Strips singer Charlie Waller, who sang a cover of “Back to Black.” Ronson also played “Rehab” during a short DJ set in the middle of the show. Winehouse was found dead in her Camden apartment on Saturday at the age of 27. Initial autopsy results were inconclusive and additional toxicology tests are expected to take two to four weeks. Also on Wednesday, “The Voice” coach and “Forget You” singer Cee Lo Green revealed that despite reports earlier this year that he had recorded a duet with Winehouse for her next album, the two had never actually hooked up. Green told E! News the pair were trying to get together in the studio but never made it happen. “We were discussing working together … we have a mutual friend, Salaam Remi ,” he said of the producer who worked on several tracks on Back to Black . “There was a rumor that we had already recorded together. It wasn’t true and I don’t know where that came from. But we did grow fond of each other and thought we could work together. … I could listen to her and she registered to me as the real thing. … It’s so untimely and unfortunate. What a loss. ‘Twilight’ heartthrob tells MTV News that working with pros like Bill Condon and John Singleton has helped him grow as an actor. By Terri Schwartz, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Taylor Lautner Photo: MTV News Taylor Lautner has had quite an impressive career for a 19-year-old. Since “Twilight” came out in 2008, he’s worked with some of Hollywood’s biggest stars and hottest directors and is primed to become the film industry’s next big action star when “Abduction” hits theaters in September. MTV News caught up with the “Breaking Dawn” actor at San Diego Comic-Con , and he talked about getting the opportunity to work with and becoming more comfortable around so much A-list talent. “All the directors in the ‘Twilight’ franchise have been amazing, [and] ending with Bill Condon, who’s just a dream,” Lautner said, “and then John Singleton [on ‘Abduction’]. And then all the actors and actresses I’ve been surrounded by, really, I couldn’t have done it without them, but they have definitely helped me throughout the past few years.” With “Abduction” and “Breaking Dawn – Part 1” both wrapped and set for release this fall, Lautner will be busy with press for those films but he also has some free time on his hands. And while the actor doesn’t have any projects lined up right now, he told us he’s looking at some possibilities. “We’re reading a lot [of scripts] right now and we will probably make that decision while I’m promoting,” he explained. “I’m gearing up because in two weeks, I’m off to the races. I start off in Australia and then I’m around the entire world for ‘Abduction,’ and then once again for ‘Breaking Dawn.’ ” Lautner added that he would love to do a comedy after the good feedback he got for his Funny or Die sketch “Field of Dreams 2.” He also teased that something could come of his recent meeting with director Gus Van Sant and screenwriter Dustin Lance Black . But Lautner is really looking forward to spending time with fans, many of whom would visit his “Abduction” set in Pittsburgh. The actor said he was always thankful rather than distracted by their presence. “There’s moments where it could impede the job, but I’m able to stay focused and be in character when I need to and snap right out of it and go over and talk to the fans and be with them for a while and go right back into it, which is great, because I have a lot of fun with them and I love them coming out and hanging with us,” he said. ‘Breaking Dawn’ Star Taylor Lautner Praises ‘Dream’ Directors
Colin Tilley tells MTV News it’s ‘really cool’ to see clips he helmed for Breezy and Justin Bieber getting awards-show nods. Now, the California native finds two of his works nominated for the 2011 VMAs . Tilley’s clip for Chris Brown’s “Look at Me Now” is up for Best Hip-Hop Video and Best Collaboration, while his video for Justin Bieber’s “U Smile” garnered a nod in the Best Male Video category. “It’s crazy to see the videos that we’ve been doing getting awards, actually nominations in general, from the VMAs. It’s pretty amazing,” Tilley told MTV News on Tuesday when we visited the set of Wiz Khalifa’s upcoming “No Sleep” video. “As far as the hip-hop [category], ‘Look at Me Now,’ in general, is an amazing song. I remember when I got that song, I was like, ‘Jeez, this is a hit right here. This is just going to win some awards,’ as soon as I even I heard the song,” Tilley recalled of the vid that features both Lil Wayne and Busta Rhymes. “The video just naturally and very seamlessly came together and we created something that I think is really cool.” While the director has worked most frequently with Brown — directing a number of his videos, including “Deuces,” “She Ain’t You” and “No BS” — Tilley also built a nice working relationship with Bieber after directing his 2010 visual for “Never Let You Go.” ” ‘U Smile’ was a very special video because I got to see Justin grow up. So we definitely went for this cinematic, stylized feel that really just showcased him as an iconic artist, as an icon in general,” the lens master said. “That was a really special experience. I remember the night before he had some award and he came to the set and he was really feeling himself. Director Bill Condon says ‘Twilight’ star deftly tackles finale’s most emotional scenes. By Kara Warner, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Robert Pattinson Photo: Summit Entertainment “Twilight” fans who’ve already read the best-selling books upon which the films are based have a sense of what to expect from the final two films when they hit theaters. Specifically, what emotional ups and downs will unfold onscreen, and which characters will be most impacted. “Breaking Dawn” director Bill Condon recently revealed to MTV News what he predicts will be the most emotional moments in the final installments. He also opened up about how stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson have tackled the acting challenges presented to their characters, Bella and Edward. ( Spoilers ahead for those who haven’t read the books.) “There’s this really quiet moment when Bella discovers that she’s pregnant and Edward leaves the room having said, ‘Carlisle will get that thing out of you,’ ” Condon recalled, “and she realizes, ‘Oh my god, I’ve got trouble ahead.’ “Edward, the person she’s been longing for all this time is actually on the other side of this very basic issue about this baby that’s growing inside of her, and she puts all that aside and she turns and she has a moment where she catches herself in this mirror. It’s actually a scene, just Kristen alone, where she falls in love with the idea of being a mother and it’s just simple, but I think it’s very moving.” Condon went on to say that Pattinson’s work in the film is equally moving, noting how much he has evolved as an actor. “[Edward] really becomes an adult [in this film],” Condon said. “In the beginning, he has this beautiful toast to [Bella] where he talks about, ‘You’re so lucky if you find that one person who can see you for who you are and still accept you and allow you to move beyond who you’ve been.’ And that’s what Rob does in this movie,” the director added, “He sort of puts aside Edward’s self-loathing and all that stuff and actually becomes a man. “So at the end, when Bella’s given birth and she’s died and he’s trying to bring her back, there is stuff in there where the camera just holds him for a long time where he’s just doing everything he can think of to make her live and to beg her to live,” Condon revealed. “It’s just really powerful.” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . By Terri Schwartz, with reporting by Eric Ditzian Olivia Wilde in “Cowboys & Aliens” Photo: Universal Pictures Olivia Wilde might have been covered in dust and dirt while shooting “Cowboys & Aliens,” but that didn’t make shooting a mostly nude scene in front of her co-star Daniel Craig any less awkward. “It was kind of strange because I was half-naked in front of a bunch of people, including the crew, a bunch of Apache warriors, a bunch of cowboys, and Daniel Craig, who I had to stand in front of basically naked,” Wilde explained to MTV News. “He had to take a moment to sort of look me up and down before covering me in a blanket. And I was like, this is crazy.” It didn’t help that after the long night of shooting, Wilde and the rest of the “Cowboys & Aliens” cast had to take an overnight flight to San Diego Comic-Con to make their Hall H presentation . So if fans remember her being a little frazzled, it probably has something to do with the fact Wilde had no sleep after filming a scene in which she was partially nude for the majority of it. As fans will find out come Friday’s release of “Cowboys & Aliens,” the scene Wilde is talking about — which has been teased in the film’s many trailers — happens at the climax. She said filming the sequence was an “honor” because it is such an important moment in the movie. “It was really exciting because we knew we were creating something kind of spectacular in that scene,” Wilde said. “It was a really cool effect happening, as people will see.” The actress said she didn’t wear much make-up and required little hairstyling while filming because the style of the flick was “very bare.” She said it was a very dirty shoot, and not just because she was almost naked. “We were literally dirty because we were riding all day long out in the desert, and you get very dirty. But the dirtier everybody looked, the hotter they looked. It was a really good look, I think,” she said. “The people in the Old West were very dirty. The thing that’s unrealistic about our movie is all our teeth: We have good teeth; they didn’t have good teeth. Fox 5 Atlanta has discovered that there was a fifth accuser in the Bishop Eddie Long sexual misconduct case. Centino Kemp never filed a lawsuit and his name was never made public during the case, but apparently Kemp was involved in the recent settlement negotiations with Long and the other accusers. According to Fox 5 Atlanta, Kemp is currently recording songs written from the perspective of an angry lover and has Eddie Long’s name tattooed on his wrist with the words: “Never a Mistake, Always a Lesson.” Sources told Fox 5 Atlanta that Kemp is 22 years old and was raised in the Bahamas and met Eddie Long years ago during a visit to New Birth while he was a teenage student in a Florida college.
