Jackson Rathbone tells Twilighters, ‘We’ve got a lot of heavy competition this year.’ By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Eric Ditzian Jackson Rathbone Photo: MTV News WEST HOLLYWOOD, California — Hard-core Twilighters don’t need a reason to vote for “Eclipse” at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards , but if you’re torn, co-star Jackson Rathbone has some great reasons why you should help the third movie in the “Twilight Saga” take home some trophies at the show on Sunday. “We’ve got a lot of heavy competition this year — some Oscar winners, some amazing films, some amazing actors,” Rathbone said, reaching out to Movie Awards voters this week. “We’re just lucky to be in … contention, but y’all can help us out and go online and vote.” “Eclipse” is up for eight awards at the big show, including nods in categories like Best Movie, Best Female Performance, Best Male Performance, Best Breakout Star, Best Fight and Best Kiss, which has Kristen Stewart nominated for kissing both Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson ( Le scandal! ). And Jackson had one more push for the flicks. “Go out and vote and help us out. We need your votes,” he added. The “Twilight Saga” has had a quite a streak in recent years, taking home nearly 10 Golden Popcorn statues in all. And there’s a good chance the latest film will do well this weekend, when it will be up against a slew of other big flicks like ‘Inception” and “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1,” and “Eclipse” stars will compete against A-listers like Emma Watson, Zac Efron, Emma Stone and Jesse Eisenberg, to name a few. “Twilight” director Catherine Hardwicke recently told us she was excited to learn that the David Slade-directed film is nominated for so many Movie Awards. “I think it’s great. I love it that people are so passionate about it and that people are really into it and following the characters,” she said when we chatted with her about the June 14 DVD release of “Red Riding Hood.” “I think it’s a great tribute, obviously, to what [author] Stephenie Meyer created. … Rob and Kristen and everybody’s been able to just keep it going and keep people loving it all this time, and, of course, all the directors, everybody. Disney “Camp Rock” star Matthew Finley plummeted from a 100 foot cliff in Malibu this past week. TMZ.com reports “L.A. County Fire trucks and paramedics raced to the scene Thursday afternoon and several responders had to hike down the steep slope to retrieve the 23-year-old actor.” Matthew lost control of his bike causing him to spiral down the cliff. “He was treated for multiple compound fractures as well as injuries to his face and head. By Rob Markman, with reporting by Vanessa Whitewolf Cali Swag District Photo: MTV News Though Mante “M-Bone” Talbert has been laid to rest, the remaining members of Cali Swag District said they will carry on his legacy with their work. “We’re just focused on staying positive and doing what we were doing prior to this incident,” CSD’s C-Smoove told MTV News. “Basically, make M-Bone’s legacy and his name live on through us forever, as long as we do it. We don’t feel like this is a time for us to stop; we feel like this is a time for us to go harder.” On May 15, M-Bone was murdered in a drive-by shooting in Inglewood, California. While Cali Swag has been mourning, the group managed to drop its M-Bone dedication song, “How to Do That,” before burying its fallen comrade Friday . Now, the group, who made its mark with the 2010 platinum single “Teach Me How to Dougie,” is readying a new mixtape, Deeper Than the Dougie, and said it will continue to rep for Talbert. “It’s gonna be a lot of tattoos and chains and all that,” Smoove said. “We’re gonna really make his name live on.” The group also revealed that it won’t be adding any new members to replace the CSD dancer. “You see three people right here, but it’s still four people in the group,” Yung said. “M-Bone will be with us forever.” Smoove added: “We won’t be replacing M-Bone. Nobody will ever be able to say, ‘I’m the new fourth,’ and ‘I filled in because of this.’ ” Police are still investigating M-Bone’s murder and have made no arrests. By MTV News staff Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner Photo: Frazer Harrison/ Getty Images Since film fans made “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” the most nominated film leading into the 2011 MTV Movie Awards , we had to return the favor with some “Twilight” goodies during the big show. “Twilight” leading lady Kristen Stewart and her main men, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner, will be presenting an exclusive clip from the saga’s highly anticipated fourth film, “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1,” during the awards show, airing live at 9 p.m. ET/PT on MTV. For the die-hard “Twilight” fans who’ve been following all the news about “Breaking Dawn – Part 1” — for which we compiled this handy guide — the exclusive clip premiering during the Movie Awards will be the very first video from the film. Up until now, we’ve had to make do with production photos, teaser art and posters. MTV News recently caught up with Elizabeth Reaser, who plays Cullen matriarch Esme, to get her take on filming the two-part “Twilight” finale. “There was a lot of emotion,” she said during an MTV Sneak Peek Week screening of her latest movie, “The Art of Getting By.” “I mean, [for] months we had been through so much different weather craziness [in all different locations that] we were in denial of it the whole time.” She recalled saying goodbye to the epic five-movie saga while shooting the highly anticipated Edward/Bella wedding scene, even though her work on the film wasn’t quite over; she had to stick around a bit longer to finish up some shooting on the film. “Suddenly, we were on the dance floor at the wedding, and it was suddenly over,” she said. “It’s also 7 in the morning, and we had been shooting all night, so it was this weird, surreal experience. We were all in shock.” Stewart, Pattinson and Lautner will be in good company, when they grace the MTV stage.
