Mere days after the marriage of Pippa Middleton to James Matthews, members of the Royal Family have been forced to go from celebratory to melancholy. On Monday night, a suicide bomber detonated an explosive inside Manchester Arena that took the lives of 22 people. Among the victims was this eight-year old girl . The attack took place toward the end of an Ariana Grande concert in Great Britain, causing 59 other people to be injured and mass panic to take over the country. In response to the tragedy, Grande has Tweeted that she’s “broken” over what transpired, while countless other celebrities have also spoken out. President Donald Trump called out the bomber, as well as ISIS members associated with him, as a total “loser” and British Prime Minister Theresa May referred to the mass murder as an “appalling terrorist attack.” Now, with her nation scared and on edge, Queen Elizbaeth II has also issued a statement. “I know I speak for everyone in expressing my deepest sympathy to all who have been affected by this dreadful event and especially to the families and friends of those who have died or were injured,” says the 91-year old Monarch, adding: “I want to thank all the members of the emergency services, who have responded with such professionalism and care. “And I would like to express my admiration for the way the people of Manchester have responded, with humanity and compassion, to this act of barbarity.” Soon after these words were expressed, Prince William spoke on behalf of himself, his wife, Kate Middleton and his brother, Prince Harry. “Like everyone, Catherine, Harry and I are left shocked and saddened by the tragedy that unfolded in Manchester overnight,” he said. “Hundreds of friends, parents, children and partners are confronting unimaginable grief today, and we send our thoughts to them all. “We also send our thanks to the people of Manchester for their display of strength, decency and community that is an example to the world.” Authorities have confirmed that the attacker died in his own blast, but ISIS has claimed responsibility for the incident and a 23-year old has been arrested in conjunction with the killings. Tragedy has struck an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester, England. According to multiple news outlets, at least 22 people were killed and countless others injured after a pair of loud bangs were heard Monday evening inside Manchester Arena. Law enforcement sources in Great Britain and the United States have told NBC News they believe these sounds to have been explosions. Shortly after reports started to leak out about what transpired or may have transpired at the concert, Greater Manchester Police confirmed there were a “number of fatalities and others injured.” It remains unclear just how many people died from the explosions themselves and how many were killed as a result of the stampede that occurred after the blasts went off. Those associated with the event tell TMZ they heard an explosion in the rotunda area (where merchandise is sold), which is located outside the seating area in the venue. Immediately afterward, mass chaos ensued as everyone sprinted toward the nearest exit. About two hours after outlets starting reporting on the horrible occurrence, police said they were treating it as a terrorist act. There are reports the explosive device was a “nail bomb,” TMZ writes, which would explain why many victims at the scene were bleeding profusely. “Ariana is okay,” a representative for the artist says. “We are further investigating what happened.” Manchester Arena sits atop the Manchester Victoria transit station. As of this writing, all lines to Manchester Victoria were closed, National Rail says in a statement. Northern Railway said the station had been evacuated and local police have issued the following statement: “Emergency services are currently responding to reports of an explosion at Manchester Arena. There are a number of confirmed fatalities and others injured. “Please avoid the area as first responders work tirelessly at the scene. “Details of casualty bureau will follow as soon as possible.” This is what a concert goer told The Daily Mail of what he witnessed after the first explosion went off: “Everybody started screaming and running for the exit … We could hear the police and ambulance sirens. It was terrifying. “There were thousands of people trying to get out at once. They were all screaming and crying. The whole place smelt smokey and burnt.” Added another person in attendance, this time to The Manchester Evening News: “We saw young girls with blood on them, everyone was screaming and people were running.” Victoria Monét and Bia opened for Grande on Monday night and both artists are believed to be fine. Grande’s tour was scheduled to continue at the O2 Arena in London on Thursday night, but it’s hard to believe this show will now take place. Not that it matters at the moment, of course. The Manchester Arena, which opened in 1995, can hold up to 21,000 spectators; it was not clear how many people were in the crowd for the concert. Yesterday, the world awoke to the sad news that Soundgarden and Audioslave frontman Chris Cornell had been found dead in a Detroit hotel room just hours after performing for a sell-out crowd. It was later revealed that Cornell’s cause of death was suicide by hanging, and the initial police report was confirmed by Wayne County medical examiners on Thursday evening. While suicide often comes as an utter shock to the victim’s loved ones, Cornell’s wife Vicky says that she’s stunned to the point that she doesn’t fully accept the medical examiner’s ruling. Vicky has reportedly told friends that in all their time together, Chris never gave any indication that he was depressed or inclined toward self-harm. In a statement issued today , Vicky revealed that she became concerned after speaking with him on the night of his death, but not because he sounded suicidal. Vicky says that “Chris was slurring his words” in their second phone conversation of the night, and she became concerned when he revealed that he “may have taken an extra Ativan or two.” Ativan is a brand name for lorazepam, an anti-anxiety medication that’s often used to treat symptoms of withdrawal from alcohol and other drugs. Chris struggled with addiction throughout much of his adult life, but sources say he hasn’t had a drink or consumed in illicit substance since he checked into rehab back in 2003. Now, lawyers for the family are taking action to ensure that the investigation continues in order to determine if drugs played a role in Chris’ decision to commit suicide. “The family believes if Chris took his life, he did not know what he was doing, and that drugs or other substances may have affected his actions,” reads a statement issued by Cornell family attorneys just moments ago. Those who encountered Cornell in his final hours say the singer seemed upbeat and excited for the future. But fans at his final concert noted that there was an elegiac tone to the night’s performance: “My first impression was that Chris was more joyous than I’d ever seen him before,” attendee Ken Settle tells People magazine. “He’d always been, back in the early days especially, kind of a brooding performer, more introspective, sometimes looking down at his guitar most of the time with his hair in his face. In a controversial letter to employees that went viral last week, Steve Harvey demanded to be left alone . But Mary L. Vaughn apparently did not get the memo. The comedian’s ex-wife is coming strong after the man she says scorned her in nearly every way imaginable, filing a $60 million lawsuit against Harvey that paints him in an even worse light than that infamous letter. Vaughn and Harvey were married from 1996 through 2005. During their time together, the former was allegedly subjected to “prolonged torture with the infliction of severe mental pain and suffering,” according to court documents obtained by Entertainment Tonight. These same legal papers also claim that Vaughn “attempted suicide by self-medicating [in] an effort to stop the pain.” Yikes . They go on to allege that Harvey and his lawyer caused “severe emotional distress” that led to a litany of medical conditions for not only Vaughn … but her immediate family over the past 15 years or so. Pretty damning accusations, that’s for certain. And Vaughn isn’t even finished. She’s suing the talk show host for child endangerment, torture, kidnapping, breach of contract, conspiracy against rights, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and “soul murdering.” The lawsuit even cites such terms/actions as harassment , brainwashing and theft by deception . Harvey and Vaughn share a 10-year old son, Wynton. This isn’t the first time the latter has aired severe accusations against Harvey, having previously gone off on him via a YouTube video. She was even jailed for 30 days in 2013 for contempt of court after violating the terms of a gag order in the couple’s divorce. Harvey has three kids from his first marriage and has been the husband of third wife Marjorie since 2007. Just a few days ago, Harvey made negative headlines after the Internet learned that he sent a memo to employees last year in which he laid out a series of ground rules. They all boiled down to Harvey wanting total and complete privacy at work, with excerpts including the following demands: Do not come to my dressing room unless invited. Do not approach me while I’m in the makeup chair unless I ask to speak with you directly. Do not wait in the hallway to speak to me… make an appointment. The star eventually acknowledged that he sent this letter, but made no apologies for how much of a diva it made him sound like. “I could not find a way to walk from the stage to my dressing room, to sit in my makeup chair, to walk from my dressing room to the stage or to just sit and have lunch without somebody just walking in,” Harvey explained to ET , adding: “I’ve always had a policy where, you know, you can come and talk to me – so many people are great around here, but some of them just started taking advantage of it… “I just didn’t want to be in this prison anymore where I had to be in this little room, scared to go out and take a breath of fresh air without somebody approaching me, so I wrote the letter.” Vaughn would likely say that she knows a thing or two about being stuck in a prison when it comes to Harvey.
