We take a look back at soon-to-be-divorced couple’s whirlwind courtship and marriage. By Jocelyn Vena and Christina Garibaldi Kris Humphries and Kim Kardashian on August 17, 2011 in Hollywood, California Photo: Jason LaVeris/ WireImage After a $10 million wedding, a TV special, 72 days of marriage and several weeks of speculation about a split, Kim Kardashian has filed for divorce from her husband off less than three months, Kris Humphries, citing “irreconcilable differences.” “After careful consideration, I have decided to end my marriage. I hope everyone understands this was not an easy decision,” Kardashian told MTV News in a statement about the headline-making divorce. “I had hoped this marriage was forever but sometimes things don’t work out as planned. We remain friends and wish each other the best.” So how did Kim and Kris go from falling in love overnight to an even faster falling-out? Well, let’s take a look back at the whirlwind romance: October 31, 2010 : Exactly one year before she filed for divorce, Kim was spotted sitting courtside at her soon-to-be boyfriend’s basketball game. A few days later, they made their first public appearance together in New York. January 1, 2011 : By the time New Year’s Day hit, the romance heated up and Kim was feeling comfortable enough with her new beau to tweet a photo of a young Kris with the message “I want my son to look like this!” January 23, 2011 : Even though it was pretty obvious the two were dating, Kim told MTV News she was still very much single. “I never have been single in my life,” she said. “So [after] getting married as a teenager and then getting into a relationship, each lasting like four years, after that, something inside of me, I just felt like I wanted to be single.” Kim’s Cover Up: How The Tabloids Got It Right February 5, 2011 : Kris and Kim stepped out to celebrate his 26th birthday. Just two months later, they took their relationship to the next level when he traveled with the rest of the Kardashian clan to Bora Bora for a family vacation. May 18, 2011 : Just seven months after meeting, Kim and Kris got engaged after he slipped a 20.5-carat, $2 million ring on her finger. “I didn’t expect this at all,” Kardashian said of the proposal, which included Humphries writing out “Will You Marry Me?” in rose petals in her bedroom. “I was in such shock. I never thought it would happen at home, and I never thought now.” June 8, 2011 : Kim’s family was just as shocked as the rest of us about the upcoming wedding. “We were totally surprised. I mean, because I had been working so much, and Kris lives in New Jersey, I’ve only met him not even a handful of times,” Khlo

Lady Gaga also booked for this year’s show, hosted by Ryan Seacrest. By Gil Kaufman Justin Bieber Photo: Mark Von Holden/ Getty Images Maybe you haven’t made your plans yet, but Justin Bieber knows exactly where he’ll be on New Year’s Eve: Times Square in New York. Bieber has been booked to play live on “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2012,” joining Lady Gaga on the 40th anniversary edition of the December 31 staple. The show will help cap a busy holiday season for Bieber, who is preparing to release his first-ever holiday album, Under the Mistletoe, on November 1. The first video, for the song “Mistletoe,” will debut Tuesday (October 18) at 7:54 p.m. ET/PT on MTV. Bieber said he’s excited for fans to check out his mix of holiday standards and new songs. Regarding why he decided on a holiday release as fans wait for the follow-up to My World 2.0, Bieber said, “I was going to put out my album soon anyways, and I was thinking, ‘It’s near Christmastime. If I’m going to release an album near Christmas, I figure maybe I’d just do a Christmas album.’ The fans get more music, and everyone’s happy.” The singer said he picked a mix of his favorite Christmas songs (“Silent Night,” “Santa Claus is Coming to Town”) and new tunes (“Mistletoe,” “Christmas Love”) to offer a little something for everyone. “I picked ‘Santa [Claus is] Coming to Town,’ because everyone loves those songs. Those are classics. They get people excited for Christmas,” he said. “And then, for songs that we wrote, we wanted to make enough new songs for people to hear new music and not just hear some classics. There’s a lot of new stuff on there.” Catch the premiere of Justin Bieber’s “Mistletoe” video Tuesday (October 18) at 7:54 p.m. ET/PT on MTV, with a full interview to follow on MTV.com. Nikki Reed Calls Wedding To Paul McDonald ‘Magical’

‘Twilight’ actress and ‘American Idol’ alum tweet about Sunday’s Malibu nuptials. By Jocelyn Vena Paul McDonald and Nikki Reed (file) Photo: Frederick M. Brown/ Getty Images The first 24 hours of Nikki Reed and Paul McDonald’s married life seem to be going quite well. The newlyweds took to Twitter to let their fans know just how happy they are after Sunday’s wedding. “Yesterday was the most magical day of my life…” the “Twilight” actress tweeted Monday (October 17), one day after she said “I do” to the “American Idol” singer. “Yesterday was the most amazing day of my life,” Mc Donald wrote , echoing his bride’s enthusiasm. “Everything was perfect. I’m officially a MARRIED MAN! Woohoo!” The couple married in front of 100 guests in Malibu on Sunday. E! News reports that “Idol” singer Stefano Langone played the reception, along with McDonald’s band, Grand Magnolias. McDonald also reportedly performed at the party. “Spy Kids” star and Reed pal Alexa Vega served as a bridesmaid at the festivities. “We couldn’t be happier!” the couple said in a statement after news broke of their wedding. “[We were] surrounded by our family and friends. We’re so glad this day has come!” The two began dating in April and got engaged just two months later. They announced their plans to marry at the MTV Movie Awards in June, where Reed was spotted sporting an engagement ring. “She’s amazing. It’s kind of one of those things you don’t expect,” McDonald gushed to MTV News earlier this year. “Like, last year I never would have thought I’d be getting married. She’s amazing. She’s the perfect girl. We fit each other. When you know, you know, and she’s the one.” The pair have been quite public about their relationship. McDonald plans to release an album tentatively called The Nikki Reed EP, and when Reed hit up the Teen Choice Awards in August, she was sporting Paul’s face on her nails and revealed that he was being quite the bridezilla . “He’s doing a lot of it, he is. He’s, like, taking control,” Reed said about McDonald’s part in the wedding planning. “He sits with his computer in between songs and is kind of on a roll with everything.” Leave your well-wishes for the newlyweds in the comments below!

‘X-Men’ Writers Land ‘Top Gun’ Sequel Gig

Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz in final negotiations to pen upcoming flick. By Kara Warner Tom Cruise in “Top Gun” Photo: Paramount Pictures Just about one year ago, Tony Scott sent his “Top Gun” fans into a frenzy over the news that a sequel is not only planned, but Scott will take the directorial reins on the project. There has been little forward movement since then, but now we have word that “X-Men: First Class” writers Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz have been hired to helm the script. According to Variety, Miller and Stentz are in final negotiations to get to work on the screenplay, with Jerry Bruckheimer and David Ellison signed on to produce. The trade publication claimed that there are no plot details to reveal yet, but we’re hoping the “First Class” writing duo sticks with the outline Scott shared with us last year. “It’s not even a reinvention, it’s not even a sequel. It’s a re-thinking,” Scott said of his plans for the sequel. “What inspired me is that the world today is great, it’s so different from the world we touched originally. It’s really run by guys sitting in Nevada on computers playing war games.” Scott teased that the film will focus on the new generation of fighter pilots. “It’s a mixture of that, and it’s the end of the generation of fighter pilots. Not in a complete end to the generation, because these guys they go up in F-35s and they carry 10 drones with them. [But] it’s a very different movie,” he said. But the most pressing question on everyone’s minds is: Will Tom Cruise and Val Kilmer reprise their iconic roles? “I’m gonna withhold that information,” Scott told MTV News. “I can’t say anything. I’m talking with Jerry [Bruckheimer], and I’m going to withhold [those other details].” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com .

Eff A Thug: Breezy Can’t Get His MJ Tribute On After The U.K. Denies His Visa

Poor thang! England has no love for a thug. Even one that moves like Michael Jackson. Chris Brown has been shut out of performing in the U.K. AGAIN — and this time it’s for the very special MJ tribute scheduled to go down tomorrow. One day before the Michael Jackson tribute, Chris Brown has been forced to pull out after he was denied a work visa because of his criminal record. The singer was set to honor the late King of Pop with a performance at the Oct. 8 star-studded Michael Forever concert in Wales, but he’s now axed his plans after being barred from entering the U.K. due to his 2009 assault conviction for attacking his then-girlfriend Rihanna. The show has been plagued with problems in recent weeks – the Black Eyed Peas dropped out of the tribute on Thursday due to “unavoidable circumstances”, and Gene Simmons was removed from the bill following complaints from fans regarding previous comments the Kiss rocker had made regarding Jackson’s child abuse allegations. Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Ne-Yo and Leona Lewis are still expected to perform as planned. As much as Breezy would like to put the past behind him, this “woman beater” thing is probably going to follow him around forever. Source

‘X Factor’ Auditions Wrap Up With Teen Rapper Brian Bradley

Teenagers ruled final audition episode before Boot Camp. By Adam Graham L.A. Reid, Nicole Scherzinger, Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell on “The X Factor” Photo: FOX Fox’s “The X Factor” wrapped up its audition rounds Thursday (September 29), sending its final batch of singers — including more than a few teenage contestants — to its version of Hollywood Week, known as Boot Camp. First up was Brian Bradley, who definitely had the X factor, if the X factor is massive self-confidence. The 14-year-old pint-size Brooklyn rapper stepped in front of the “X Factor” judges with the ego of a 10-times-platinum superstar. He said the reason he hadn’t yet been signed to a record deal was “politics, man,” and then picked a mock beef with Simon Cowell that led to him performing his original song, “Stop Looking at My Mom.” With its old-school boom-bap and instantly catchy hook, “Stop Looking at My Mom” came on as strong as Willow Smith’s “Whip My Hair” did the first time you heard it, and the judges were instantly sold. Four “yes” votes later, Bradley was headed to Boot Camp. Bradley mixed brash overconfidence (he said his contemporaries were Jay-Z and Kanye West, and claimed in five years he’d be “better than Jay-Z”) with an endearing teenage innocence. After he was passed through, he said his plans to celebrate involved going home and jumping up and down on his bed. Bradley had so much confidence he could afford to let Jazzlyn Little borrow some. The 16-year-old was so meek onstage in front of the judges that it looked like if there were a hole for her to climb into, she would have happily disappeared from view. But when she sang Mary J. Blige’s “I’m Going Down,” the shyness melted away, and she gave one of the most powerful auditions we’ve seen on the show thus far. L.A. Reid praised her “superstar voice,” and Paula Abdul dubbed her “a little brilliant gem.” Of course she’s headed to Boot Camp, where her biggest obstacle will be belief in herself. The teenage parade continued with 17-year-old Cari Fletcher, a classically trained vocalist whom Cowell dubbed “boring” after her version of Heart’s “Alone,” though he decided to let her through anyhow; and Ausem, a duo made up of two 15-year-olds, Austin and Emily. The pair performed Christina Perri’s “Jar of Hearts” and the judges had much more confidence in Austin than they did Emily, but since they were a package deal, it was all or nothing. After much debate, Nicole Scherzinger gave them the “yes” they needed to advance in the competition, though it came with much reservation, and Emily already seemed nervous about meeting the challenge ahead. Viewers were also briefly introduced to 14-year-old Nick Dean, a Justin Bieber type who earned passing marks from the judges for his original song “Walk Away”; the Brewer Boys, a brother duo made up of 13-year-old and 17-year-old siblings; Paige Elizabeth Ogle, an 18-year-old whose animated version of Lady Gaga’s “Yo

Jessica Simpson: Pregnant!!!!!!

Jessica Simpson is pregnant, according to In Touch ! Eric Johnson totes probably knocked her up! Jessica recently attended Eric’s 32nd birthday party, where she sent back her glass of champagne for a birthday toast. Turns out they had something even bigger to celebrate. A source close to the 31-year-old singer and her fiance says they are expecting their first child. Jess has sorta looked pregnant for a while. Now she actually is! “She’s already having kooky cravings!” a friend shares, especially nacho chips dipped in chocolate, “which satisfy her urge for salty and sweet.” Nice. Despite the fact that there’s one more “guest” (and that “Jessica might have to take out her dress a bit”), their plans to marry haven’t changed … although they reportedly put the wedding on hold “indefinitely.” Wonder why. While not everyone would consider the timing ideal, the pair considers the baby to be “the best wedding gift ever.” Jess is reportedly due in the spring. Congrats again if it’s true, which seems fairly likely!
