July marks the 20th anniversary of the release of Forrest Gump. The Tom Hanks film that’s come to be regarded as a modern classic was one of the biggest box office smashes of the 1990s and went on to win six Academy Awards, including Best Picture. Catchphrases such as, “Stupid is as stupid does,” and, “Life is like a box of chocolates,” are among the most oft-quoted lines in the history of cinema. But whatever turns their careers took in the years that followed, we’re sure all the cast crew of Gump regard the film as the most pleasant unexpected surprise of their careers.
