Weekly Wrap Up: iPad Edition

The big news of the week: The iPad! Apple’s tablet was the total rage, with the faithful lining up to buy their own copy, and the rest of the world either feeling left out or snorting derisively (while secretly feeling left out.) But we tore ourselves away from our devices long enough to make the awesome web shows below for you. Feedback:

Blur Beta Opens Up To All Xbox 360 Users Next Week

The Xbox 360-exclusive multiplayer beta for Bizarre Creations’ super-charged arcade racer Blur has been a big hit. That’s according to the game’s developers, who recently revealed on Kotaku ’s weekly podcast that it’s been so popular in fact that they have officially run out of beta codes to give away. Why is this good news? This sudden code shortage has caused Bizarre to go ahead and just open up the multiplayer beta to all Xbox 360 users. The beta is scheduled to be available on Xbox Live Marketplace as a free download starting April 6. And in case you were wondering why Bizarre decided to release the beta on the 360 instead of the PlayStation 3, Bizarre Creations’ lead designer Gareth Wilson provided some clarity. “For our selfish needs, we only needed it on one platform because all we wanted to do was gather data about how people are using the cars, the power ups, the tracks, and to be honest we can get that data from one platform… We just chose Xbox really because it’s the platform that, to be straight, has more online users than the PS3.” Fair enough. Any current Blur beta players care to convince th rest of us why we should check out the game for ourselves next week? Rumor Mill: Is The PSP 2 Coming Soon?

The internet rumor mill is swirling with speculation that the still-announced PlayStation Portable 2 may be coming sooner as opposed to later. Officially, the PSP 2 doesn’t exist, but there are tantalizing traces of the handheld-of-the-future on the internet, including the speculation that the device will double as a phone, and rumor that the device will be here sooner, rather than later. Here’s some of the evidence: A couple of online resumes that mention the PSP 2. Podcasters mentioning the PSP 2 in connection with E3. Well-known analysts predicting the device will be shown at E3. Common sense, which tells us that E3 is the time to announce big hardware initiative. Like most internet-style-rumors, this is a pretty slim case for the PSP 2 coming soon, so take it with a grain of Mega-Salt(tm) — those resume references to the device could have been references to the PSP Go, a fact that AtomFire Productions Director Dominic Mason confirmed. But still, an E3 launch wouldn’t be outside the realm of possibility, and it might be just the thing Sony needs to get back into the handheld space. Besides, when has a lack of tangible evidence ever prevented anyone on the internet from speculation/bloviation? That’s what comment sections are for , man. Please use ours. Playstation 3 Game God of War Erotic Ad of the Day

There was a time when I tried to get an ad from Rockstar Games for Grand Theft auto. I was like that game beats up hookers and is based on stealing and being bad and was a perfect fit for this site. They rejected me. In my mind it was going to be my big break, I was going to get the 100,000 dollars they pay all the other sites to advertise, and I was gonna be able to leave my wife, move to the islands and fuck locals while eating coconuts and shit, but instead they fucking rejected me. They told me they weren’t interested in being on my kind of site and that pretty much paved the fucking way for me to never land an ad deal, barely breaking even on the money I do make, cuz hosting the site costs a fucking fortune, not that you care…but I do…and when I see ads for videogames like this God of War bullshit, that is pretty much an animated lesbian orgy, something the virgin loser gamers with no game have already jerked off to a dozen times the last hour, cuz they have build up, I get pretty mad. It’s like Playstation can endorse this shit but not my shit….and the whole thing makes me pretty fucking angry, but since you’re probably a virgin loser gamer with no game, it’s my job to post this for you to fall in love with more inanimate things….cuz real girls are so complicated while computer generated girls are so open minded cuz they are all programmed by other virgin loser gamers with no game, so they know exactly what you want.
