Amber Portwood sure has come a long way, huh? If you look at footage from the early seasons of Teen Mom and compare them to the latest episodes, she almost doesn't seem to be the same person. But there is one thing that the Amber of then and the Amber of now share … And that is the ability to have a breakdown at any given moment over absolutely anything. For the past few days, she's been struggling with some issues pertaining to being a reality star — which, you know, is kind of fair. We just didn't know she was feeling this low about it. 1. Oh, Amber … If you’ve kept up with Teen Mom over the years, then you know that Amber has had more than her fair share of struggles. 2. What Started It All She got pregnant as a teenager, for example — that wasn’t easy. 3. A Bad Combination She definitely wasn’t mature enough to have a kid, and at the time, neither was Gary Shirley. And they certainly weren’t mature enough to be in a serious relationship. 4. Yikes He antagonized her for fun, she actually physically abused him more than once … it was all very, very bad. 5. Also This Oh, and did we mention that Amber had a very serious drug problem throughout all of this? 6. What a Mess Eventually Amber went to prison for three counts of domestic violence — all felonies — and Gary met Kristina, the woman who is now his wife. View Slideshow
It looks like not everyone has made nice since Shannon Beador flipped out on her castmates in Jamaica. Shannon has taken to social media to condemn people who cause drama — without naming any names. One fellow Housewife saw it … and may have implied that they’re no longer friends. Shannon Beador apologized to her co-stars following her big blow-up in Jamaica. But there are clearly some lingering issues and conflicts. At least, that’s what Shannon implied with her recent post. She shared one of those messages designed for older moms to share on social media (which is exactly her demographic, we’re not being shady). The post reads: “For those of you who like to stir the pot, make sure you have a tight grip on the handle.” Shannon captioned the photo with a simple tag: “#verytightgrip.” Shannon didn’t name any names, but Tamra Judge saw fit to comment under the post. “Love you my friend,” Tamra’s comment begins. “We were good,” she writes. ( Really interesting use of the past tense, there) “No,” Tamra continues. “I should have not talked about my frustrations.” “But,” she points out. “I’m pretty sure Gina & Kelly called you mental.” Shannon may have flipped out on a number of her co-stars while in Jamaica, but we all remember Tamra screaming in response. Commenters remember the role that Tamra played, even if they didn’t always spell her name correctly. “Gina definitely stirred it,” one commenter wrote, keeping with the pot-stirring metaphor. “But Tamara supplied the ingredients.” Tamra saw this and responded: “No I didn’t.” “Pretty sure the other girls said shannon had mental problems,” Tamra insisted. “I was coming from place of concern.” Tamra may have taken Shannon’s vaguepost personally, but many asssumed that Gina Kirschenheiter was the one being vagued. (Remember, if it’s not a tweet, it can’t be a subtweet — it’s a vague ) Gina did go around saying that “everyone” was talking about Shannon’s mental state. And Vicki Gunvalson slammed her new castmates for being “obsessed” with Shannon . Neither Gina nor Emily made fast friends with Shannon. At the end of the day, pot-stirring aside, Shannon’s big blow-up on camera may have been as much from the heat in Jamaica as anything else. They were staying at a hotel that had no air conditioning. It was summer. These Housewives are made of sterner stuff than I am — I would have quit the show to flee from that heat. Some fans openly suggested that Shannon’s conflict with co-stars arose because she envied the younger, newer Housewives. After all, Emily is happy with her life, and Gina is going through her divorce with dignity and even contentment. But Kelly Dodd insists that Shannon isn’t jealous of the new women . She says that Shannon just takes a while to warm up to new people, and that she doesn’t handle change very well. (Who among us does handle change well? I don’t even like when other people rearrange the furniture in their homes) Combine Shannon’s resistance to change with the stress of her messy, contentious divorce from David, and you can see why she’s on edge. But Shannon didn’t really spell out the intended target of her post. It could mean Gina — but it could also mean Tamra. (It seems more likely that Tamra just assumed that it was about her, because Tamra can be a little tightly wound) This may be one of those “You’re So Vain” situations where, if you think it’s about you, it’s about you. But we will say that Shannon and Gina seem to have mended fences. Social media has shown them hanging out. The peril of vague posts is that they’re always vague, and you risk upsetting people you didn’t mean to offend. He may or may not be the next James Bond. But even if Idris Elba never lands the role of the planet’s most famous secret agent, at least he now has earned one distinction that can never be taken away… … he’s the Sexiest Man Alive for 2018! According to the editors at People Magazine! The 46-year old rose to stardom as a businessman/drug dealer on HBO’s The Wire and has since gone on to portray Norse God and Asgardian gatekeeper Heimdall in Marvel’s Thor franchise. He has a sizzling accent, a ripped body and a face that … well… just look at that face. There’s no way this honor could have been a surprise for Elba, right? Wrong, apparently. “I was like, ‘Come on, no way. Really?’” the actor tells People of the label, adding: “Looked in the mirror, I checked myself out. I was like, ‘Yeah, you are kind of sexy today.’ But to be honest, it was just a nice feeling. It was a nice surprise – an ego boost for sure.” Past Sexiest Men Alive (below) have included George Clooney, Blake Shelton Chris Hemsworth, Brad Pitt and Mel Gibson, among many others. In this case, the handsome reveal was made on Monday night’s episode of the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. “It’s amazing! I’m really, really happy with that,” Elba said opposite the host. “Thank you so much People magazine for making me sexiest man in the world. My mum is going to be very, very proud.” On Twitter, meanwhile, Elba accepted the praise and the recognition, while also sending out an important message. “Who’d have thought it! Thank you @people & all the fans for naming me #SexiestManAlive,” he wrote in reply, concluding: “Don’t forget to grab your issue this week… I’m honoured & thankful. What’s even more important is your vote in the midterm elections. Your vote can make a difference!” View Slideshow: People Magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive: A Hot History Speaking to People, Elba added: “Life isn’t about thinking about what you should have done. “I think everyone should adopt the philosophy that tomorrow is not promised so just go for it today, man. You might as well do it to your heart’s content.” He seems like basically the perfect human being. As such, the Internet was rather thrilled with Elba’s victory, with one person resorting to all-caps to exclaim: “IDRIS ELBA IS FINALLY GETTING THE RECOGNITION HE DESERVES.” And others clearly feel the same way. To wit: Do you agree with all these responses? Is Idris Elba truly the Sexiest Man Alive? Or did David Eason get robbed?
Dancing with the Stars is gearing up for its big finish in the coming weeks. As such, Monday’s episode sent not one, but two couples home. Surely that whad to spell the end of the line for Grocery Store Joe and Bobby Bones, right? Well, this is Dancing with the Stars, and the voting has never made that much sense, so let’s run down the performances from the episode. John Schneider and Emma Slater – Jazz – “Thank God I’m a Country Boy” by John Denver John started the season off in a rough spot, but he’s really picked up the pace over the last several weeks and has narrowed the gap in scoring department with some of the others. John admitted that he was still cut up about his divorce and that it would be great to see his kids, but it seems there’s a divide in his family right about now. The performance was fun, and energetic, further confirming that he’s improving. The judges noted that there was an improvement and voted accordingly. Judges’ Score: 25/30 Evanna Lynch and Keo Motsepe – Rumba – “Every Little Thing” with a live performance by Carly Pearce Despite being middle of the pack when the season got underway, Evanna snagged a perfect score Monday night, and it meant she was officially in the big leagues. Evanna was open about this track being personal for her, so it made sense that she channeled all of her energy into it. Judges’ Score: 30/30 Juan Pablo Di Pace and Cheryl Burke – Charleston – “One Shot” by Hunter Hayes Juan Pablo and Cheryl were ecstatic that they secured a perfect score last week, and aimed to keep up the pace in this crucial week. We didn’t expect any lees for them, and their Charleston oozed elegance and creativity. Judges Score: 30/30 Joe Amabile and Jenna Johnson – Tango – “Burning Man” by Dierks Bentley ft. brothers Osbourne Joe may be showing signs of life in the ballroom, but he’s still way below where he should be at this stage of the competition. From missed steps to a lack of dancing ability, he should have really been sent home weeks ago. Judges’ Score: 21/30 Milo Manheim and Witney Carson – Foxtrot – “Born to Love You” with a live performance by LANCO Milo and Witney have dominated the competition from the get-go, and that’s in large part down to their chemistry. The Foxtrot was fast-paced and only showed that these two are the ones to beat at the end of the line. Judges’ Score: 29/30 DeMarcus Ware and Lindsay Arnold – Viennese Waltz, “Tennessee Whiskey” by Chris Stapleton Is there a cuter pairing than DeMarcus and Lindsay? They bring their A-game every single week on the ballroom floor, and this Viennese Waltz was no different. Len noted, however, that there was an issue with the footwork from DeMarcus, and he made a great point. They could get a perfect score if DeMarcus went all the way with his footwork. Judges’ Score: 27/30 Alexis Ren and Alan Bersten – Samba – “Ladies in the ’90s” with a live performance by Lauren Alaina Consistency is key, especially if you’re at the top of your game, and this duo turned up the heat with another sizzling performance. There was not one thing to hate about the performance, and it’s becoming increasingly clear that it’s going to be a tough battle to the finish line. The couple also confirmed they shared their first kiss, so the showmance was well and truly a thing! Judges’ Score: 29/30 Bobby Bones and Sharna Burgess – Viennese Waltz – “Can’t Help Falling in Love” with a live performance by Chris Janson Bobby and Sharna were less than impressed with their middle of the road scores last week, so they opted to switch things up in a big way. Thankfully, the country theme helped them turn in their best performance in weeks. Judges’ Score: 24/30 John and Emma, DeMarcus and Lindsay, and Evanna and Keo were the only couples in jeopardy. But we had to say goodbye to John and Emma and DeMarcus and Lindsay. Yikes. What are your thoughts on the latest elimination? Hit the comments below. DWTS continues Monday on ABC! North Carolina rapper Trappa MadeIt teamed up with YoungBoy Never Broke Again and Moneybagg Yo for the first single off his forthcoming EP, Already Rich . A fire collaboration, “Stormin” is all about making it out of the trenches, as the trio raps about beef, getting money, and hitting rock bottom. Today, they release their lyric video, premiered by Global Grind ; watch up top. For those of you who don’t know Trappa MadeIt, he is a rapper, multi-instrumentalist, and music producer who has been honing his craft for a really long time. At just 10 years old he learned how to play the piano and drums by watching other musicians at church. Trappa grew up fast, as he also started doing his best to support his family at a really young age. As a teen he’d earned the nickname “Trappa” from his old neighborhood, as people mocked him for selling anything he could to make ends meet and survive. Though he didn’t find it funny at the time, but can laugh at it in retrospect, Trappa recalls selling toilet paper and fortune cookies when times got rough . On the Baton Rouge side of things, you’ve most likely heard of Louisiana rapper NBA YoungBoy as he has definitely been making a name for himself as of late. Best known for his song “Outside Today,” YoungBoy released his debut studio album Until Death Call My Name back in April, boasting features from Offset , Lil Uzi Vert , Future , Lil Baby , and Birdman . In September, he quietly dropped his mixtape Decided and apart from one Trippie Redd feature, it was a solo venture. YoungBoy has also been under fire after the alleged assault of his ex-girlfriend Jania, not to mention his long history of trouble with the law. Moneybagg Yo is also doing his thing, as he just released his full-length debut Reset on November 3. The Memphis rapper showed out with a whole onslaught of features— J. Cole , YG , Kevin Gates , Jeremih , and more make appearances on the album. When asked how it felt to drop his first “proper album following a spectacular mixtape run,” Moneybagg Yo told Forbes “it’s a relief.” Check out the lyric video for “Stormin” up top and hit the flip to become a little more acquainted with Trappa MadeIt, who throughout it all continues to put family first. It’s been nearly two months since Mac Miller passed away of an apparent overdose at his home in San Fernando Valley. Now, the reports that Miller’s death was a direct result of his substance abuse have been confirmed by an autopsy and toxicology report. According to findings released by the L.A. County Coroner’s Office moments ago, Miller’s death was the result of “multiple drug toxicity.” Fentanyl, cocaine, and alcohol were all present in the 26-year-old’s system at the time of his death. According to TMZ, the amount of any one of those drugs would not have been enough to kill Miller, but the combination proved lethal. The report also contains new information about the discovery of Mac’s body, which was found by his assistant, who immediately called 911. According to the recording of that call and the statement the assistant gave to police, Miller was found on his bed in a “praying position.” In his 911 call, the unidentified assistant described Miller as “blue” and stated that blood was coming out of his nose. While a medical examiner previously described Miller’s death as a “mystery,” all signs pointed to a lethal overdose from the start. Police found a large number of pills in Miller’s home, including Xanax, Oxycodone, Hydrocodone, and generic Adderall. A rolled up $20 bill with a white powdery residue was discovered in Mac’s pocket. And sadly, the cause of death does not come as a surprise to those who knew the rapper best. Mac’s struggles with addiction were well-documented over the years. In May, Miller was arrested on hit-and-run charges after he crashed his car into a streetlight pole in Los Angeles and then fled the scene on foot. When police arrested Miller at his home, the rapper blew twice the legal limit in a breathalyzer test. The incident occurred shortly after Miller’s breakup with Ariana Grande. In response to the news, Grande tweeted, “Pls take care of yourself.” The medical examiner who performed Miller’s autopsy also documented his many tattoos in the above drawing obtained by TMZ. In a heartbreaking acknowledgment of his struggles with mental illness and addiction, the rapper sported tattoos that read, “So confused” and “Only so much time left in this crazy world.” Our thoughts go out to Miller and his friends and family during this difficult time. Despite the theories spun by Teen Mom fans, Tyler Batlierra is not leaving Catelynn Lowell . They have another baby on the way! They gave up their first child for adoption. In this new Teen Mom OG sneak peek, Tyler and Catelynn grapple with the bittersweet occassion that is their firstborn's birthday. “It's been almost a year since we've seen our daughter, Carly,” Catelynn says in a voiceover. “But today is her birthday,” Catelynn narrates. “It's usually a hard day for us, so we always try to celebrate it in a positive way.” There are a couple of awkward moments as they eat their salads before they speak on the phone to Dawn, their adoption counselor. They talk about Nova and her ability to understand that it's Carly's birthday. Nova, of course, is only three years old, so immediately asked when the party would be, and if they would have cake and ice cream. Dawn suggests that they send a Nova video to Carly, and Tyler says that it's already in the works. The conversation, which had so far been lighthearted, turns more serious. Dawn praises Catelynn and Tyler, telling them how proud she is of how they're taking this milestone in stride. Adoption can be a difficult process for everyone involved, even though no one questions that they made the right decision. And the two of them have really made great progress in handling the situation with a healthy perspective. As Tyler admits when Dawn comes over to speak to them in person, he and Catelynn weren't always so chill about it. “I think some of our old expectations were unrealistic,” Tyler admits. “Like, [we] signed our rights off,” he says, referring to signing away their parental rights nine years ago. “A couple of years ago,” Tyler confesses. “I was on the other side.” By which he means that he felt entitled to parental rights that he does not possess. Tyler gives an example: “I was like, ‘You wouldn’t be parents if it weren’t for me.’” “It’s acceptance of what role I really play in this child’s life and this family’s life,” Tyler says of his current perspective. Dawn, their adoption counselor, knows that Carly's birthday is a big deal. She walks them through how they might speak to Carly's parents. “If I can advise you in any way,” Dawn says. “I would say a soft landing would be a good thing.” Dawn suggests: “Maybe starting a conversation with, ‘What’s Carly doing today? How are things going with her at school?’” “You love to brag about Nova,” Dawn notes. “She’s gonna love to brag about Carly.” Dawn concludes: “I think that’s gonna be an easier entry into a conversation.” Tyler and Catelynn then speak about the various traumas that they have experienced. While most of Catelynn's PTSD arises from her childhood, as is most often the case, it's not the only source. The adoption that she and Tyler went through as teens was another trauma in her life. That is very understandable. Being conscious of that can be tremendously helpful. Catelynn's miscarriage, she says, was a trigger for a lot of that trauma to resurface in her mind. Catelynn and Tyler have demonstrated more personal and emotional growth than a lot of their co-stars. We're not going to pretend that either of them are perfect. If they didn't have flaws, they wouldn't work as reality stars. But they've really worked hard on themselves and on their relationship. That deserves some recognition.
