Source: Ron Galella, Ltd. / Getty It’s National Louisiana Day! We could bombard you with interesting facts about the Bayou Country—there are many—but instead, we’re here to hit you with some Louisiana culture we know you know all too well. At all good parties, there comes a point where folks have had a decent amount of Hennessy, the ladies are starting to dance, and the fellas are just about ready to dub on bouncing booties while being held up by supportive friends . A great DJ can feel the tide of the party changing, if ever so slightly, and he knows it’s time to cue Juvenile’s “Back That Azz Up.” Yes it’s true, we melanin mamis do not play with our hair …but we will certainly sweat out a good wash and set to dr-dro-drop, drop it like it’s hot. It’s a tradition. Based in bounce music, Louisiana’s contribution to hip hop is incomparable. So for National Louisiana Day we gathered 8 songs that made—and still make—the streets go crazy. If you’ve forgotten about any of these gems, thank us later. “Choppa Style” “If you a independent woman holla (Ooww!)/If you got your own house holla (Ooww!) If you drive your own car holla (Ooww!)/If you hate your baby daddy holla (Ooww!) If you an independent player holla (Oh Yea!)/If you hate your baby mamma holla (Oh Yea!) If you drive your own car holla (Oh Yea!)/If you take care of your kids holla (Oh Yea!)” “Rode That D*ck Like A Soldier” “She rode that d*ck like a soldier She rode it like a soldier She rode it like a Magnolia soldier” “Back That Azz Up” “Girl, you looks good, won’t you back that azz up You’se a fine motherf*cker, won’t you back that azz up Call me Big Daddy when you back that azz up” “Shake Ya Ass” “You think I’m trickin’? B*tch, I ain’t trippin’/I’m buyin if you got nice curves for your iceberg” “Nolia Clap” “Y’all hear that Nolia Clap! Y’all hear that Nolia Clap!” “Slow Motion” “Uh I like it like that she working that back I don’t know how to act Slow motion for me, slow motion for me, slow motion for me, move in slow motion for me” “Project B*tch” “This is for Deshawn, Eshlawn, Lil Mama, an her friends/Lisa, Teresa, Maria, Tia, Lia and Kim/ I love y’all broads, no disrespect to my dogs/But, I love y’all broads… yea I love y’all broads” “A Milli” “I’m a Young Money Millionaire, tougher than Nigerian hair/My criteria compared to your career just isn’t fair” [ione_media_gallery src=”https://globalgrind.cassiuslife.com” id=”4028386″ overlay=”true”]

Kenya Moore: It’ll Be Weeks Before I Walk Again After C-Section

Just days ago, Kenya Moore welcomed her first child with husband Marc Daly. It was a difficult, premature birth brought on by pregnancy complications. Now, Kenya is opening up about her recovery, and the differences between real life and reality television. “#realVsReality,” Kenya tagged her video, pointing at how real life and reality television are very different. “#brooklyndaly came early,” she reminds her fans and followers of her newborn daughter. “And the reality is,” Kenya continues. “It will take weeks for me to be able to walk without the excruciating pain of a C section.” “And,” she says, it will takes weeks for her “to heal from the multiple cuts to my uterus.” C-sections are no joke, folks. But that didn’t stop Kenya from taking a motorized scooter on a tour of Target. “Needed to get her some preemie items,” Kenya shares. “So of course,” Kenya continues. “Off to @target we went.” “My aunt Lisa is so afraid!” she admits. Kenya then confesses: “I’m supposed to be in bed.” The idea of going shopping just a few days after giving birth in any fashion is … a little alarming. (Yes, some people gave birth and then went to go vote just hours later, but they are the exception, not the rule) After a C-section, Kenya should be at home, being catered to and focusing on healing. In April, Kenya revealed that she and Marc Daly were expecting their first child. Six months later, on Halloween, Kenya revealed that there were complications with her pregnancy. Kenya was diagnosed with preeclamsia, the three main symptoms of which are high blood pressure, swelling of hands and feet, and protein in urine. Out of concern over this dangerous pregnancy condition, doctors and Kenya decided upon a C-section. Her baby, Brooklyn Doris Daly, was removed from her uterus by skilled surgeons. Brooklyn is considered premature, and weighs just 5 pounds and 12 ounces. Despite her preemie status, Brooklyn is said to be alert and after. Kenya explained how she and Marc chose their firstborn’s name. “Brooklyn because that’s where we met and fell in love,” Kenya said. “And Doris,” she continued. “After my grandmother who passed away last year and who raised me.” Daly , of course, comes from the last name of her husband, Marc Daly. Kenya Moore is not old in real life. She is 47 years old. In terms of safely becoming pregnant, staying pregnant, and carrying a child to term, she is definitely within the upper extremes of age. (That’s by the standards of the medical community — we’re not age-shaming her) We’re sure that Kenya and Marc are so grateful that they were able to come through this pregnancy with both mother and baby alive and healthy. Last year, they married each other. Now, just a year and a half later, they’re growing their family. In all honesty, the trip to Target less than a week after a C-section sounds a little … far-fetched. Target is a great place as far as liminal spaces are concerned, but Kenya going herself is odd. We’re sure that Atlanta has delivery options (we don’t have to guess; we looked it up). Also, Kenya has family and a husband who could have gone. Either Kenya is just really specific about what she wants her baby to have and couldn’t wait a week … … Or maybe this was an endorsement deal and she’s doing it for the cash. Ain’t Over: Florida’s Andrew Gillum, Ron DeSantis Race Now In Recount Range

Image via Wilfredo Lee-Pool/Getty Images Florida Gubernatorial Race In Recount Range There could be a mandatory recount in the Florida Gubernatorial race. As previously reported Andrew Gillum conceded to Republican ”  Ron DeSantis Tuesday and tearfully told his supporters he was “disappointed” that he couldn’t bring in a win in the Sunshine State. At the end of election day, Gillum secured 48.9% of the vote to Desantis’ 49.9%  thus causing his concession. Now, however, the Democrat’s seemingly taking it back amid reports that the race was “too close to call” and a recount could be on hand. His campaign released a statement saying that they’re dedicated to making sure EVERY vote is counted, no matter what. “On Tuesday night, the Gillum for Governor campaign operated with the best information available about the number of outstanding ballots left to count. Since that time, it has become clear there are many more uncounted ballots than was originally reported. Our campaign, along with our attorney Barry Richard, is monitoring the situation closely and is ready for any outcome, including a state-mandated recount. Mayor Gillum started his campaign for the people, and we are committed to ensuring every single vote in Florida is counted.”   USA Today reports that Thursday afternoon the unofficial count gave Republican nominee Ron DeSantis a 38,000-vote lead. That number puts Gillum and DeSantis in the 0.5 percent margin that requires an automatic machine recount once the count is certified. Secretary of State Ken Detzner will officially determine Saturday which Florida races are over and which fall within the recount margin. Prayers up for the Gillum campaign, he’s an excellent candidate for sure and deserves to have every single vote counted.

‘HTGAWM’ Recap: Annalise’s Beef With The Governor Is Officially On Sight

Continue reading here:

Source: Richard Cartwright / Getty On tonight’s episode of How to Get Away With Murder, we get handed the memo from Captain Obvious that the governor played Annalise. But let’s start from the beginning. The episode starts with a report about the investigation. In short, they claimed that while Nate Sr. was being transported to the next facility, one of the two escorting officers (30-something White women) tried to take a letter he was writing. Remember that atonement letter he was writing to the family of the man he killed? The letter he was writing because he was in a better, more peaceful place? So, yeah, one of the officers tried to take the letter, which agitated him to the point of trying to stab the officer with a pen. It all goes downhill from there and ends with the guards shooting him to death. There were no other witnesses to verify the officers’ accounts, security cameras at the psion were broken, and Nate Sr allegedly stopped taking his antipsychotic drugs prior to this incident, which caused his behavior so this is considered a justifiable homicide. So, we’re supposed to believe that a frail 71-year-old-man overpowered two 30-something prison guards? We all know this is a bald-faced lie and Annalise and Nate are not letting this go. The next step is getting Ron to seek an inquest, which he does. However, it’s not going to be easy, even with Annalise’s students on the job. They end up digging up dirt on at least one of the officers related to domestic violence to demonstrate hot temper. It’s a start, but the inquest is already looking like it’s not going to go well. As a result of the bad press and the inquest not going well, the governor wants to can the Fair Defense Project. Now do you see why we all believe issa setup? Plus, the governor would be committing career suicide by actually pardoning a violent offender. This becomes even clearer when both women get antagonistic toward each other. Annalise tells her she can’t wait to take her down. The gov then says she has more dirt on Annalise, it’s the adoption paperwork. But what adoption paperwork? Lordt. This is scandalous, but Annalise ain’t never scared and she will be preparing to fight the governor. The governor ain’t scared either, make no mistake about that. Back at the inquest, Annalise takes the stand. She gives a passionate plea for people to see that this is the usual okie doke where it’s a coverup. She even sites Emmett Till, The Central Park 5 and the Scottsboro Boys cases as examples of how the so-called justice system thrives on the myth that Black men just live to harm White women all day and must be locked up and/or killed. However, the jury isn’t moved enough and still finds that the homicide was justifiable so the case is discharged. In kind of good news, Annalise convinces her boss at Caplain and Gold to take her back. She plans to help him get rid of some misconduct charges in his file. He’s a hard sell but Annalise is determined to get back in so that she can use her pull (and some protection) at Caplain and Gold to get back at the governor. Then, Michaela stops by Gabriel’s apartment right quick and he comes out shirtless looking all good and invites himself to the wedding with her as his date. Then he starts talking all that yang about how gorgeous she is and how he admires her, etc. Mind you, he has literally been stalking her online this entire season. Michaela tries to resist because there’s a tiny piece of her that still values her situationship with Asher but she can’t and they end up making out. It’s also important to note that Asher is listening to this entire situation from his apartment on the other side of the wall. Frank and Laurel are also watching this (because Frank has Gabe’s place bugged) and Laurel says that Gabriel is playing them so he needs to tell Annalise who he is already. Then Bonnie pops in on this conversation and is like, “Tell her what?” The episode concludes at the wedding again. We see Bonnie kneeling over what is clearly a man’s body. We don’t see his face but he’s wearing a tux. She steps away from him toward someone else who seems to be in and out of consciousness (we pick up this person’s point of view as viewers, but still don’t know who it is). Bonnie tells that unseen person to take his car and “him,” and drive away, and she’ll figure everything out later. There’s only one episode left until the fall finale! Who died? Who is Gabriel and what does he want! The suspense is ridiculous! Thomas Ravenel Accuses Kathryn Dennis of Exploiting Kids for "Marketability" and Fame

Thomas Ravenel continues to prove that he’s simply the worst. We doubt anyone familiar with the former Southern Charm lead would argue this point, but please allow us to explain why it must now be emphasized once again… As previously reported on The Hollywood Gossip, Kathryn Dennis recently filed to amend her ongoing child custody agreement with Ravenel. The stars are no longer together, but they will forever be parents to a four-year old daughter named Kensie and a nearly three-year old son named Saint. Dennis filed these papers and asked a judge to grant her full custody of the toddlers after Ravenel was arrested for sexual assault . Obtained by People Magazine, the documents accuse Ravenel of relying “upon the use of full-time nannies” to care for his kids, while also referencing the pair of sexual assault allegations brought against him. Dennis also alleges that Ravenel “has drunk alcohol to excess, mixed with prescription drugs, that has caused him to be impaired during periods of time in which he had custody of the children.” She says plenty more as well. Dennis claims her ex of exhibited “periods of impulsive and uncontrollable bouts of anger” and “extreme narcissism and anger management problems.” Moreover, Dennis went after Ravenel’s most recent girlfriend, Ashley Jacobs, writing that he encouraged her to “verbally assault and attack” Dennis on the Bravo series, something for which Jacobs has actually apologized . On November 6, responded to these scathing claims. He actually filed a counterclaim, strongly denying all of Dennis’ allegations and accusing Kathryn of acting “in bad faith.” Ravenel doesn’t believe Dennis actually cares about the well-being of her kids or that she really thinks Thomas is a bad influence on them. Instead, Ravenel writes in his official reply that Dennis filed her complaint “for the purpose of garnering media attention, creating material for her storyline on Southern Charm and ensuring her marketability as a reality TV star.” Indeed, there’s simply no way Dennis would want to keep her kids away from someone accused by two women of rape , right? She must have a self-centered motive and simply must be making these claims to advane her own career. (That second sentence was written with sarcasm, in case you couldn’t tell.) In his filing, Ravenel allegsd that Dennis’ attempt to seek primary custody was “for the sole and/or primary purpose” of securing her role on the Bravo program and “progressing her storyline as the ‘rehabilitated mother who regains possession of her minor children.’” (Dennis lost custody of the kids and entered rehab in 2016 after she failed a drug test. She has since earned back 50/50 custody.) It’s hard to get much more cynical than that. Ravenel even says that the producers of Southern Charm encouraged Dennis to seek full custody in order to have “dramatic material for next season.” No one from the network has responded to this charge just yet. Ravenel is asking the court to issue a restraint prohibiting Dennis from discussing their litigation on the show, on social media and with the press. He’s also asking the court to prohibit their kids from being filmed or featured on Southern Charm. Ravenel is saying all of this just days after a South Carolina judge found probable cause for second-degree assault and battery charges against Ravenel stemming from an incident in 2015. A nanny who worked for the star has said on legal record that Ravenel “corralled” her into his master bedroom at that time, dropped his pants, blocked the door and “proceeded to rip my clothes off.”  She doesn’t explain how, but the nanny says she managed to extricate herself from the situation before anything further took place. Ravenel has denied this claim and has said he will not return to Southern Charm for Season 6.

Bring It Home! Florida Governor’s Race Reportedly Headed For A Recount

Read the original post:

A ndrew Gillum  at first appeared to have lost Florida’s race for governor to Ron DeSantis . But now, for the first time ever in a Florida governor race, there will be a recount. See Also: Andrew Gillum Barely Loses Florida Governor Race By The Slimmest of Margins “Mr. DeSantis’s victory margin has since shrunk to 0.47 percentage points — three-hundredths of a point below the recount threshold,”  the New York Times reported. In Florida, an automatic recount is triggered when there’s a lead of less than one half of a percentage. If the margin of victory is under one-quarter of a percentage point, a hand recount is ordered. “The Florida race for Governor is now in the range where a legal recount is required,” activist Shaun King wrote on Twitter. “The national news media never should’ve called this race in the first place. @ AndrewGillum can still win & tens of thousands of votes are outstanding. Getting closer & closer.” See the latest numbers below: April Ryan on Wednesday was the first one to report a possible recount. The Senate race in Florida will also get a recount . Although Gillum did concede, that was a formality. “I sincerely regret that I couldn’t bring it home for you,” Gillum said to his supporters in an emotional speech Tuesday night, referring to his campaign slogan. But now, the apparent elusive victory win might still be within reach. Hopefully, this was a good sign for Democrat Stacy Abrams , who was pushing for every vote to be counted in Georgia. Despicably, her opponent Brian Kemp’s campaign claimed he won even though no media outlets were calling the race for him, or at all. We are rooting for Gillum and Abrams. Bring it all the way home!
