In his now most quotable interview, Jigga talked to Rap Radar about the British soul singer. Jay-Z described his first encounter with Winehouse at Joe’s Pub in New York City. He met her after watching her perform. He reflected on her hit song “Rehab,” saying, “She was telling us, she was writing the songs to our face. ‘They’re trying to make me go to rehab, I’m not going.’ Like, what? You have to go!” When Jay met her after the show, he was concerned when he heard her stuttering, “I was like, ‘You don’t even stutter. Why are you doing that?’ I looked at her, and I was like, ‘Stay with us.’ The first time we hung out, I told her, ‘Stay with us.’” Winehouse died at the age of 27 from alcohol poisoning. She had a long history of substance abuse and mental health issues. Her sophomore album Back to Black garnered critical and commercial acclaim. Joy-Anna Duggar Pregnancy: When Is She Due?

Earlier today, we learned the exciting news that Joy-Anna Duggar is pregnant . Joy-Anna married Austin Forsyth in May, which means the couple is moving fast even by the standards of a family that’s mostly famous for breeding. In her official announcement, Joy-Anna didn’t offer any information about how far along she is, but of course, that won’t stop fans from wildly speculating about her due date. People magazine published the above photo of Joy-Anna on their website today, and many have commented that she looks like she’s several months along. Joy-Anna had better get used to the scrutiny, because for reasons that aren’t entirely clear, fans are downright obsessed with what goes on in her uterus. Prior to her wedding, rumors that Joy-Anna was pregnant before marriage cropped up regularly on social media. At this point, we think it’s safe to say no pre-marital hand-holding took place, but if you’re familiar with the Duggar courtship rules , you know what a scandal an out-of-wedlock child would have been. Joy-Anna and Austin honeymooned in Switzerland, and the consensus among fans seems to be that Joy-Anna got pregnant during the trip and is now roughly three months along. As is so often the case with this sort of thing, the Duggars are remaining tight-lipped about the due date. But that doesn’t mean Joy-Anna and Austin aren’t talking to the press at all. The parents-to-be have issued several statements about how happy they are to have a child on the way. They’re just not offering up any info about when the baby might be arriving. “Before we even were married we were praying that God would give us kids and we’re so thankful that he has,” Joy said today. Austin echoed the sentiment, adding: “We’re so happy to announce that we’re pregnant. When we found out we were pregnant we were both extremely happy and felt blessed.” Yes, these two certainly aren’t giving away any clues. Many fans have pointed out that Duggar women typically share pregnancy news at the end of their first trimester, which would mean Joy-Anna is likely due in  February. The Duggar family's unusual dating rules have been well documented, and have been well before the family was embroiled in scandals. Dates Without Chaperones The Duggar parents often accompany their kids on dates in order to maintain “accountability” and “keep things from going in the wrong direction,” per Jim Bob. The girls are fine with this, as being alone with men puts them in grave “moral danger.” When the parents aren’t available, their older siblings will often tag along, making every date a group date and a family affair. 2. Non-Group Texts Even in the kids’ late teens and early 20s, mom and dad are creeping on their text messages. When Ben Seewald jokingly wrote to fiancee Jessa, “Give me a ring,” Jim Bob actually jumped in on the group text, writing “No ring yet.” With a smiley face emoticon. Seriously, he did that. Whatever you think of him, Jim Bob needs his own Instagram so he can start posting screen shots of this stuff. 3. Hugs on the Chest This moment you see here between Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard would not have been permitted until the couple was married. Side hugs are the preferred method of PDA in order to prevent any further temptation or “hanky panky,” as has been well documented on 19 Kids and Counting. The Duggars love their side hugs so hard … though not too too hard, lest they lead to full-frontal hugging. And any touching beyond that? Save it for your wedding night. 4. Alcohol This is probably an obvious one if you know anything about the Duggars. The family does not smoke or drink. They do, however, enjoy the occasional sugary dessert or getting high on life and love. 5. Romance Novels Safe to say the Duggars are in the minority, having not read Fifty Shades of Grey (the movie adaptation of which they won’t be seeing either, we’re guessing). The Bible warns not to “think about gratifying the pleasure of the flesh,” so instead the family studies Christian text and not E.L. James’ erotic fiction. The Duggars’ option is probably 1,000 times better-written, we will give them that much. 6. Modern Music and/or Dancing Avert your eyes, Michelle Duggar! Paris Jackson Posts Tribute to Michael Jackson on the Late Music Legend’s 59th Birthday

Today would have been Michael Jackson’s 59th birthday, in case you’ve forgotten how tragically young the music legend was when he passed away during the “Summer of Death” in 2009. He’s mourned by countless fans across all social media platforms today. But, obviously, no one could miss Michael Jackson more acutely than his own children. His daughter, Paris Jackson, posted a beautiful tribute to honor her late father on his birthday. Taking to Instagram, Paris Jackson posted a moving birthday message that both memorializes and celebrates who her father was — very specifically, to her. “Birthday wishes to the love of my life, the one person who showed me what passion truly was, the one that gave me solid morals to live by and how to dream.” Michael Jackson’s legacy in the public might be his music, accusations levied against him, and his distinctive image and brand. Though, mostly, music. To Paris, however, he was her father. Of course that’s how she remembers him. “i will never feel love again the way i did with you. you are always with me and i am always with you. though i am not you, and you are not me, i know with all of my being that we are one. and our souls will never change in that way. thank you for the magic, forever and always.” That is an extremely sweet, if lengthy, sentiment. Paris would certainly have made Michael Jackson proud on Sunday at the VMAs. While Katy Perry’s awkward VMAs hosting had network higher ups worried , Paris Jackson spoke out against the very alarming hate and violence that is increasingly popping up across the US. Remember back to a year ago, when people were warning that fringe right hate groups, neo-Nazis included, would feel emboldened by a Donald Trump victory? Well, since 2016 was a cursed year, Trump won … sort of … and those groups were very emboldened by a man who seemed to make it clear that he shares their values occupying the highest office in the land. Just a few weeks ago, torch-bearing Nazis descended upon Charlottesville , Virginia, to protest the removal of an enduring symbol of white supremacy. In separate attacks against counter-protesters, various white supremacists beat black men with planks of wood, menaced their opposition with firearms, and of course one of them plowed into a crowd in a terrorist assault, killing one and leaving dozens of others injured. A lot of celebrities spoke up “against the violence,” but nobody at the VMAs seemed willing to tell it like it is. Until Paris got her hands on a microphone, that is. Paris Jackson called out white supremacy for the evil that it is. “Lets leave here tonight knowing that… We must show these Nazi, white-supremacist jerks in Charlottesville and all over the country that as a nation with liberty as our slogan we have zero tolerance for their violence, their hatred, and their discrimination.” That’s not really a surprise coming from Paris Jackson. In addition to being a fairly woke young woman with strong spiritual leanings and a great deal of political awareness, like, she’s not exactly from an all-white family. For so many of us, the fight against Nazis is deeply personal. (It should be for all of us, really) To be fair, even though we love Paris Jackson, we should acknowledge that, in the days leading up to the VMAs, some of her tweets had us a little worried. She spoke about antifa as people who answer violence with violence. That’s often true — antifa are individuals who are “anti-fascist,” thus where the name originates. They show up where Nazis show up in order to make it clear that their evil views have no place in a good, just society. Paris, at the time, advocated responding to hatred with peace, in the fashion of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. We would point out that MLK was murdered, so we wouldn’t recommend that anyone try to mirror his footsteps. But since she didn’t say anything about antifa or counterprotesters at the VMAs, which seems to indicate that she listened as people responded to her on Twitter. And maybe she learned and grew as a person. That’s what really defines wisdom more than anything else — a willingness to listen. Michael Jackson would be tremendously proud of her.

Kailyn Lowry: Fighting Chris Lopez for Custody of Their Baby?!

Kailyn Lowry really does have a wonderful little life, doesn’t she? She has a beautiful home with three beautiful children, one a precious little newborn she just brought home. She just finished her bachelor’s degree in May — the first Teen Mom to complete an undergraduate degree! — and it looks like she’s setting herself up well for when the MTV paychecks dry up. In all the recent photos she’s shared of herself with her kids, she looks really, really happy. It’s nice to see. But while there are a whole lot of good things going for Kailyn, it can’t be denied that there’s a fair bit of drama going on behind the scenes. Or, well, not “behind the scenes,” really. It’s pretty much just out there in the open. And that’s largely because of the father of her third child, Chris Lopez. We’ve been hearing all about Chris ever since Kailyn confirmed he was the baby’s father — and the things we’ve heard haven’t been very good. Throughout her pregnancy, we heard that he’d abandoned her, and she even said that she was going to be a single mom this time around. Report after report claimed that Chris didn’t want anything to do with her or their baby, and that was pretty heartbreaking. But then, something amazing happened! She revealed in an interview that he was there in the delivery room when she gave birth to the precious but still unnamed Baby Lo, and he also drove them home from the hospital. And yes, that’s pretty much the bare minimum a new father should do, but it was definitely a step in the right direction. In the past few weeks, various reports have claimed that Chris can’t seem to make up his mind on how active of a parent he wants to be. Shortly after the birth, he visited his new son frequently, but then he allegedly bailed again . But as a source now tells Hollywood Life, he’s doing the best he can. “Kailyn and Chris have been spending more time together since the baby’s birth, trying to make the whole difficult situation work,” the source says. “He is doing his best to be a good father and to treat Kailyn better. Chris loves their little baby and wants to make sure he has a healthy relationship with Kailyn.” That’s nice, right? Though they’re both “overwhelmed with the new baby” right now, “he is there and doing what he feels is the right thing.” “Kailyn is happy that he is present and helping with diapers and late night feedings, so all is well with them … for now at least.” Unfortunately, as soon as that source told that sweet little story, another popped up with a slightly different take on things. Because even though Chris is apparently trying, “it’s just not working out.” “At this point, having raised two babies already, Kailyn is an expert when it comes to caring for the baby,” this source alleges. “Frankly, Chris is just getting in her way and causing extra problems.” But someone getting in the way of her new mom groove may be the least of her problems soon … The supposed Kailyn insider says that Chris’ mother is urging him “to apply for full time custody of her grandchild.” “Chris has no desire to try and take his kid away from Kailyn,” which is good, “but his mom is concerned about visitation rights.” It’s not just that though — his mother is also said to be concerned about Kailyn’s “lifestyle,” as well as “the fact that she has three children from three fathers.” “Chris’ mom really wants Baby Lo to be raised by her family and standards.” Which, if true, is pretty rich, considering that her family raised Chris, a guy who basically abandoned a woman after he got her pregnant and could very well end up abandoning his son, too. Tobe Hooper Dies: Legendary Horror Film Director Was 74

Sad news for horror fans today … Tobe Hooper has passed away. He was 74 years old. The coroner for Los Angeles County has reported that he died yesterday in Sherman Oaks. As of now, the cause of death has not been revealed. If you are a horror fan, you definitely know of all of his many, many contributions to the genre. But for those unaware, Hooper was responsible for bringing us two of the best, most influential scary movies of them all: The Texas Chain Saw Massacre and Poltergeist. In addition to directing 1974’s Texas Chain Saw Massacre, he also wrote the screenplay and created the soundtrack. Which means that he is, in fact, solely responsible for delivering that entire terrifying tale — and the franchise that followed. Interestingly enough, Hooper taught at a college before making the film, and he made documentaries on the side. He was out doing some holiday shopping in the early 70s, and he came across a rack of chainsaws for sale. He thought about how much he wanted to leave the store, and how starting up a chainsaw would definitely part the crowd. But instead of firing up a chainsaw in a busy department store, he later pulled together a group of his students and other teachers at the college. And that’s how the movie was created. Seriously. Though there wasn’t much blood at all in the film, Hooper had to fight repeatedly to get it down to a R rating, and it was still banned in several countries. Because, as he so impressively proved, you don’t need gore to completely and thoroughly horrify viewers. Twelve years after introducing the world to those wild Texan cannibals, Hooper directed the sequel, Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2. This movie was very, very different from the first, but still just an absolute gem, proving Hooper’s incredible skill. Which honestly, at that point, didn’t really need proving: eight years after the original Texas Chain Saw Massacre and four years before the sequel, he directed Poltergeist. Which is, of course, also one of the greatest horror movies of all time. He’s directed many other things as well, including a miniseries based on Stephen King’s Salem’s Lot and even a Billy Idol music video. (“Dancing with Myself,” if you were curious.) Hooper is widely regarded to be one of the most influential people when it comes to horror films, and for good reason. And several members of the community are taking the time to pay tribute to him. Amanda Stanton: Josh Murray Grossed Me Out, Actually

Everybody gets asked about their exes, especially celebrities. Especially celebrities who fell in love in front of an audience. Amanda Stanton and Josh Murray fell in love on camera, and then promptly fell out of love. Police were called , so we think that it’s safe to say that there were some hard feelings. So when she was finally asked about one particular “flaw” of Josh’s, we suppose that it’s no surprise that Amanda didn’t hold back. She says that he was kinda gross. Okay, so, Amanda Stanton and Josh Murray feel for each other on the previous season of Bachelor in Paradise . She’s on this season, too — remember when she was mom-shamed for daring to be a reality star? (People gave her a hard time for going on Bachelor in Paradise when she’s a mom but, as she pointed out when she clapped back, it really doesn’t take that long to film) But way back on Season 3, the two of them fell for each other. They even cuddled quite conspicuously, which turns out to be strangely relevant to this story: Josh proposed to Amanda, she said yes, and they went off together, happily ever … temporarily. Amanda Stanton and Josh Murray broke up , which isn’t really surprising when you look at the success rate of reality relationships. (Or actual relationships, for that matter) They’ve clearly gone their separate ways. Josh Murray says that he’s totally over Amanda Stanton , and they’re both moving on. But when Amanda Stanton was interviewed recently for a podcast that is “charmingly” called The Morning Breath , we guess that she felt that it was time to let loose what she’d been holding back. This wasn’t about her breakup with Josh Murray or about the sex or about this season of Bachelor in Paradise — it was about Josh Murray looking sweaty on camera back during season 3. Amanda Stanton doesn’t start off being harsh, but she definitely acknowledges that she noticed. You could see that Josh had been sweating through his shirt, very visibly. “I don’t know. I mean, it is really hot there — I don’t really sweat at all and I would get a little bit sweaty there — but I think it was like a health condition.” It’s filmed in Mexico, so we totally get it. And there are plenty of health conditions that can cause excess sweating. So can things like certain foods, consumption of alcohol, and just genetic predispositions. You know how they hug on camera when they choose each other (among other times?) Amanda confessed that those were some gross moments for her. “I remember at the end, I was trying — like I was really happy, but he would like, hug me and I was kind of grossed out. His shirt was soaking wet.” Sweat does feel genuinely unpleasant. She gets kind of mean about it, though. “With Josh and I, there were so many things that were great. But there was just something that felt a little bit off — he’s a sweaty person.” She’s not blaming their breakup on his body’s sweat glands. We do wonder what the factors involved were, because we’d think that “Mexico is as hot as the surface of the sun and everybody’s drinking all day” would explain any sweat to anybody’s satisfaction. No “health condition” required. (Though they’re no longer allowed to drink as much, given Bachelor in Paradise ‘s new rules ) But maybe it persisted when they were living together. The fact of the matter is that different folks are wired differently. Some people think that 70 degrees is too cold, others think it’s too hot, and others think that it’s just right. Similarly, different amounts of sweat are normal or abnormal for different individuals. We wish that Amanda Stanton would be a little nicer about it, but we also hope that her next love doesn’t make her feel like she’s just been slimed.
