Paris Jackson Posts Tribute to Michael Jackson on the Late Music Legend’s 59th Birthday

Today would have been Michael Jackson’s 59th birthday, in case you’ve forgotten how tragically young the music legend was when he passed away during the “Summer of Death” in 2009. He’s mourned by countless fans across all social media platforms today. But, obviously, no one could miss Michael Jackson more acutely than his own children. His daughter, Paris Jackson, posted a beautiful tribute to honor her late father on his birthday. Taking to Instagram, Paris Jackson posted a moving birthday message that both memorializes and celebrates who her father was — very specifically, to her. “Birthday wishes to the love of my life, the one person who showed me what passion truly was, the one that gave me solid morals to live by and how to dream.” Michael Jackson’s legacy in the public might be his music, accusations levied against him, and his distinctive image and brand. Though, mostly, music. To Paris, however, he was her father. Of course that’s how she remembers him. “i will never feel love again the way i did with you. you are always with me and i am always with you. though i am not you, and you are not me, i know with all of my being that we are one. and our souls will never change in that way. thank you for the magic, forever and always.” That is an extremely sweet, if lengthy, sentiment. Paris would certainly have made Michael Jackson proud on Sunday at the VMAs. While Katy Perry’s awkward VMAs hosting had network higher ups worried , Paris Jackson spoke out against the very alarming hate and violence that is increasingly popping up across the US. Remember back to a year ago, when people were warning that fringe right hate groups, neo-Nazis included, would feel emboldened by a Donald Trump victory? Well, since 2016 was a cursed year, Trump won … sort of … and those groups were very emboldened by a man who seemed to make it clear that he shares their values occupying the highest office in the land. Just a few weeks ago, torch-bearing Nazis descended upon Charlottesville , Virginia, to protest the removal of an enduring symbol of white supremacy. In separate attacks against counter-protesters, various white supremacists beat black men with planks of wood, menaced their opposition with firearms, and of course one of them plowed into a crowd in a terrorist assault, killing one and leaving dozens of others injured. A lot of celebrities spoke up “against the violence,” but nobody at the VMAs seemed willing to tell it like it is. Until Paris got her hands on a microphone, that is. Paris Jackson called out white supremacy for the evil that it is. “Lets leave here tonight knowing that… We must show these Nazi, white-supremacist jerks in Charlottesville and all over the country that as a nation with liberty as our slogan we have zero tolerance for their violence, their hatred, and their discrimination.” That’s not really a surprise coming from Paris Jackson. In addition to being a fairly woke young woman with strong spiritual leanings and a great deal of political awareness, like, she’s not exactly from an all-white family. For so many of us, the fight against Nazis is deeply personal. (It should be for all of us, really) To be fair, even though we love Paris Jackson, we should acknowledge that, in the days leading up to the VMAs, some of her tweets had us a little worried. She spoke about antifa as people who answer violence with violence. That’s often true — antifa are individuals who are “anti-fascist,” thus where the name originates. They show up where Nazis show up in order to make it clear that their evil views have no place in a good, just society. Paris, at the time, advocated responding to hatred with peace, in the fashion of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. We would point out that MLK was murdered, so we wouldn’t recommend that anyone try to mirror his footsteps. But since she didn’t say anything about antifa or counterprotesters at the VMAs, which seems to indicate that she listened as people responded to her on Twitter. And maybe she learned and grew as a person. That’s what really defines wisdom more than anything else — a willingness to listen. Michael Jackson would be tremendously proud of her.

Kailyn Lowry: My Drunk Mom Doesn’t Care About My Baby!

If you’re a Teen Mom 2 fan, then by now, you’ve probably heard the news that Kailyn Lowry has welcomed her third child . In social media messages to fans, Kailyn has confirmed that she’s overjoyed by the news, but has also confessed that there’s a bittersweet quality to her life these days. For one thing, Kailyn is now a single mother of three, which is a daunting undertaking for anyone at any stage of life. Kailyn and Chris Lopez broke up shortly after she learned that she was pregnant, and to make matters worse, it seems Lopez has no interest in being a dad. There was a brief period of time when it seemed he’d had a change of heart, and Kailyn gleefully reported that Lopez would play a role in his son’s life . Now, however, sources close to Lowry say Lopez is already failing to fulfill his obligations as a father. To make matters worse, Kailyn doesn’t have much else in terms of a support system. She has a handful of close friends, but she’s long been estranged from her mother, whom she cut ties with after Suzi Irwin allegedly got drunk while babysitting Lowry’s son Lincoln. Suzi hasn’t really been a presence on Teen Mom 2 ever since her falling out with Kailyn, and naturally, many fans are curious as to whether she’ll play any role in the life of her newest grandchild. Sadly, Lowry says it doesn’t look as though her mother has any intention of changing her ways. Asked by a fan if Suzy has met Kailyn’s new baby (whose name remains unknown), Lowry tweeted simply: “Tried to contact her about her new grandson but I got nothing.” Yeesh. Several of the stars of the Teen Mom franchise have less-than-stellar parents, but refusing to even meet your baby grandson is a kind of coldness that we don’t even like to contemplate. Kailyn spoke of her past difficulties with her mother in a 2014 interview: “We don’t talk,” she said at the time. “I took Lincoln to her house and Javi doesn’t know about this so that’s why I don’t want to talk about it. I came back two hours later and she was trashed.” Kailyn says her mother’s alcoholism dates back to when she was a child, and that while she doesn’t blame her mother for her disease, she also sees her as a force of chaos and a potential danger to young children. “She would get drunk and drive with me and stuff,” Lowry said. “But she didn’t do it because she wanted to hurt me, she did it because she was sick.” Watch Teen Mom 2 online for more on the difficult life of Ms. Lowry. Mariah Carey to Bryan Tanaka: Marry Me NOW!

Dating is one thing, but is Mariah Carey really ready to get married to boytoy dancer Bryan Tanaka? Reportedly, she’s not only ready to tie the knot but actively pressuring him to propose. “Bryan’s eating out of her palm again now and Mariah’s desperate to seal the deal before they get sabotaged again,” an insider claims. The report that  Mariah is pressuring Bryan  comes from RadarOnline and their source. We’d really rather hear it directly from Mariah … though obviously she’d never just come out and say that. It’s not a casual Katy Perry diss, after all. Not everyone’s onboard with their relationship, either. “So many people from both their circles have tried to keep them apart, but she’s convinced they have what it takes to last the course,” the source says. Well, all sides being against the union sounds like a tragic romance. Not always the best set-up when there are children in the mix. Even the anonymous insider cautioned that Mariah’s feelings aren’t set in stone: “Obviously, her feelings change like the wind each day, but to be fair Bryan has a hold over her that no other guy’s had for a long time.” Yes, even the unidentified tipster has doubts. Again, it’s usually healthy to view things coming from “a source” with a grain of salt. But this isn’t the least believable story in the world. Bryan was her backup dancer back in 2006, so they’ve known each other for eleven years. That is a long-ass time to know someone, even just as friends. And, um, they’re clearly more than that. Before we get ahead of ourselves, we do need to think a little about context. Mariah’s breakup with billionaire James Packer was, well, reportedly because of all kinds of things, from allegations of cheating with Bryan Tanaka to extravagant spending habits. The spending thing sounds pretty realistic to us — financial disagreements are a very common, if not terribly salacious, reason for breakups. But if she was spending too much for James’ liking, how is she going to go from being a sugar baby to a sugar momma? Well, as much of a sugar baby as Mariah could have been since she’s worth half a billion — and as much of a sugar baby as Bryan can be if he’s worth around a million. It’s all relative, apparently. Still, it doesn’t seem like it’s the best next step for her to take in a relationship. Maybe she isn’t thinking with her head right now. Hopefully, she’ll make the best decision for herself and her children. You don’t want to get married based on thirst alone. Not when you’re nearly fifty. And super not when you have kids. Kylie Jenner Strips Down to Promote Lip Kit, Torture Tyga

It’s been almost three months since Kylie Jenner and Tyga broke up  for the 47th and final time, and it seems that Kylizzle is having no trouble leaving her Z-list ex in the past. According to various sources, Kylie is dating Travis Scott these days and the couple is reportedly moving at breakneck speed. But Kylie is still a member of the Kardashian-Jenner clan, which means she’s comprised of roughly 85-90% pettiness. So when the opportunity to remind an ex of what he’s missing out on arises, you better believe Kylie’s gonna take it. That’s a photo from Kylie’s latest ad campaign for her famous, eponymous lip kits . Words fail us at times like these, so we’ll simply quote America’s current poet laureate Kendrick Lamar, who once remarked, “Damn.” Racy Kylie Jenner selfies are pretty much a daily occurrence on Instagram, but this is some next-level sh-t. Not only is a lot of skin even by Kylie standards, what we’re looking at her is no mere selfie. For starters, it’s the work of a professional photographer, which means a lot more thought went into than the typical ‘Gram post. On top of that, it’s intended to promote Kylie’s lip kits, and we can’t help but notice that lips aren’t really the focal point here. The whole thing has led many fans to the conclusion that the photo was inspired more by a desire to torture T-Raww than a need to promote Kylie’s already wildly popular cosmetics. Kylie emulates her older sisters in many ways, and she’s likely learned a lot by Kourtney Kardashians subtle acts of revenge against Scott Disick. After years of being used, neglected, and manipulated by the Lord, Kourtney decided to launch psychological warfare with unusually risque selfies as her only weapon. Which means Scott loses and the rest of the world wins. So is Kylie taking a page from her older sister’s playbook here? We may never know. All we can do is hope she sticks with this tactic. Oh, and that Tyga doesn’t go off the deep end quite as badly as Scott did. That’s never fun to watch. View Slideshow: Kylie Jenner Selfies: A Kandid Kollection

Chris Cornell’s Brother: My Heart Is Broken!

Losing a sibling is one of the hardest experiences that there can be. Many fans reacted to Chris Cornell’s tragic death without even thinking of what his brother was going through. It turns out that his brother, Peter Cornell, was at first thinking of himself and other family members — before thinking of how fans were grieving. He shared a deeply emotional Facebook post for his late brother’s fans, along with some photographs that really hit home. “It’s been difficult to put words together. My heart is broken. Chris was always just my brother,” Peter wrote. No matter how famous someone is, to family, they always are and always will be just family. “Sometimes we only needed to just be in the same room and just be present. That was enough,” the grieving brother added. And that’s a relatable sentiment, but what he shared next — his deep empathy for his brother’s fans and their loss — was especially powerful: “It wasn’t until this week, it really hit me how he belonged to the world. That he is an icon and a legend. That being said, I am so sorry to YOU for your loss.” Peter also shared a pair of photos, depicting the first and last times that he and his brother were together. Pictures are powerful, and this is a heavy subject. Not everyone has photos from beginning to end like this. Peter went on to talk about how artists impact more people’s lives than they could ever meet. “Artists, actors, musicians. We rely on these people to lift us up. To inspire us and distract us in times of trouble,” he wrote. And he ties that right back into talking specifically about Chris: “Chris protected us when we needed him to. His one of a kind-ness surrounded us like a suit of armor. He was a warrior and a wizard. A howling wolf and a trusted mentor.” That’s a really beautiful description. Most people are, understandably, struggling even to string words together after a loss like this. Questions regarding Chris Cornell’s cause of death have been controversial to say the least, but Peter didn’t really touch on that. Instead, he spoke about his brother’s life. “My brother gave freely of his gifts and it was never a struggle. He kept himself from the saturation of celebrity in such a humble way.” Celebrity status is okay, but it’s always impressive when people never seem absorbed or changed by their fame. And who would know better than his brother? “The power and anger and passion of my brother’s music was always genuine, original, and legitimate.” You don’t need a technical understanding of music to understand that. “He was the powerful, sensitive, fragile, angry, mystical creature that will exist forever in his body of work. And he did it for ALL of us.” But, as much as he’s processed, he’s still working his way through it. And he will be for a long time to come. “I will never wrap my head around his passing. I’ve been in shock since I heard the news. I can’t and won’t let him go,” Peter concluded. That’s understandable and, for too many people, deeply relatable. Hug your loved ones and make sure that they know that they can come to you for help, folks. View Slideshow: Chris Cornell: Mourned, Remembered by Stars Everywhere

One Direction on Zayn Malik Departure: We Were Angry!

One Direction has finally opened way up about Zayn Malik taking his beautiful voice and leaving the group several weeks ago. How did they feel when they first heard the news? One Direction Responds to Zayn Malik Departure “We were a little bit angry,” Liam Payne told James Corden on The Late Late Show, adding: “We were surprised, but I think we all knew the general vibe that Zayn was feeling. There were certain parts of this job that Zayn loved and certain parts of the job that he didn’t. “If you don’t like your job, you’ve got to follow your heart sometimes and go where you need to go. There’s no argument with that.” There does remain a mystery as to why Malik left, however. He said via statement that he just wants to be a “normal 22-year old” for awhile. But is he really recording a solo album? Was he fired for drug and alcohol use ?!? Louis Tomlinson, meanwhile, engaged in a public Twitter beef with Malik this month, slamming his former colleague as immature. Where do things stand now between the hunks? “I’ve never been very good at biting my tongue,” Tomlinson said. “It’s just one of those things. Twitter’s great for connecting with the fans but also if you feel like saying something you probably shouldn’t, it’s also good for that as well. “Or bad in this case.” He added that the group is in touch now with Malik and is on “good terms” with him. It has already been confirmed that a new One Direction album is on the way, but did the band ever think about splitting for good after Zayn left? “The four of us love every part of it and the shows have been great on the tour,” Niall Horan said. “We’re looking forward to bringing out a new record, going on more tours and stuff and we’re really enjoying it.” View Slideshow: 17 Hottest Boy Band Members of All-Time

Janet girl we happy you snagged your billionaire boy toy, but we don’t know about this! Janet Jackson’s Husband Use To Date Playboy Playmate According to The National Enquirer JANET JACKSON’s billionaire hubby has a NASTY secret in his past! Jackson may have to cover up her body for new billionaire husband, Wissam Al Mana, after reportedly converting to Islam, but that was never the case for Wissam’s former flame – Gwen Rogers, a pole dancer and Playboy Playmate. Rogers, a well-known Washington, D.C. based dancer and “model” – she graced the pages of Playboy five times including the Women of Washington issue in 1988 — told RadarOnline.com that she dated Wissam, who she met when he was a student at George Washington University. “Yes, Wissam and I dated. He was a great guy, very private,” Gwen said. “I met him when he was a student. He was very religious. I wish him and Janet all the best and that’s all I want to say about him.” Gwen was just as shocked as the rest of the world when she heard the news that her ex-lover had married the Rhythm Nation singer. On April 7 Gwen wrote on her Facebook page: “BREAKING NEWS: I just hears on the radio that Janet Jackson DID convert to Islam…after marrying one of my ex-boyfriends… Wissam Almana.” The notoriously private Jackson secretly married the Qatari-born retail entrepreneur during a hush-hush ceremony in 2012. Whitney Houston And Michael Jackson’s Deaths: Gone Too Soon

‘You will always remember where you were … when you heard the news,’ Simon Cowell says, echoing the sentiments after Jackson’s death. By Tomika L. Anderson Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston in 1988 Photo: WireImage Few people will forget where they were when they heard that the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, had died in June 2009. And now, the same can be said for 1980s and ’90s Queen of Pop Whitney Houston . The beloved, long-suffering singer died Saturday inside a Beverly Hills hotel room, hours before she was expected to attend a pre-Grammy Awards party thrown by her longtime mentor Clive Davis . And while the official cause of death is yet unknown — what’s been speculated so far is that Houston may have drowned in the bathtub after taking prescription drugs, including Xanax — given her very public struggle with substance abuse, depression and anxiety over the past decade, it’s hard not to conclude that some drug- or alcohol-related accident may have been to blame. It’s much like, most recently, British singer Amy Winehouse and the late, great Michael Jackson before her, who died after taking a fatal cocktail of propofol and two other drugs. Also like Jackson, Houston’s sudden death — at the age of 48 — has stopped the world in its tracks, an enormous, one-of-a-kind musical flame forever extinguished. Even Jackson’s brother, Jermaine — who was first introduced to Houston years ago by Clive Davis at the same Beverly Hills Hilton where the singer passed away — could not help but draw the comparison. In an interview with CNN overnight, he paid tribute to the two fallen musical giants. “They shared a lot of success in the late ’80s and they were great friends,” he said. “I’m happy and honored to have been a part of their lives.” And oh, what lives they led: Like Jackson — who died at just 50 years old, after years of struggling with personal demons — Houston, too, had an intensely profound and everlasting impact on the world of entertainment. Mariah Carey, Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Hudson and countless other chart-topping entertainers have all name-checked her as their musical mentor, icon and inspiration: To date, she is one of the best-selling artists of all time, with more than 170 million albums, songs and videos sold. In her lifetime, Houston achieved what precious few of them have or ever will — stacking an astonishing 415 awards, including six Grammys, two Emmys, 22 American Music Awards, 30 Billboard Awards. Her voice, in its prime, was a national treasure. “X Factor” mastermind Simon Cowell may have summed it up the best: On “Piers Morgan Tonight,” he said, “She was one of the greatest voices in our lifetime. Whitney was the number one singer that other singers want to emulate. People like that can’t be manufactured. They’ve either got, it or they don’t.” He added, “You will always remember where you were and what you were doing when you heard the news.” Like Michael before her, gone too soon. MTV News’ Sway and James Montgomery will be live from the Grammys red carpet tonight starting at 5 p.m. ET to get reactions from music’s biggest stars on the death of Whitney Houston. Watch reactions and remembrances at MTV.com. Share your condolences with Whitney’s family and friends on our Facebook page.
